Well the idea, per se, is relevant.

Independence. Democracy. I've overlooked it for so long, but last week I was reminded of freedom's meaning. My ancestors fought for my right to be here, talking freely today, but right now there's a similar struggle occurring. Iranians are dying. But their spirit is so incredible... I'm really speechless. I hope this time the overthrow of the government --if it happens-- will be BETTER for the people.

So I dedicate my thoughts and prayers to those brave souls over in Iran right now. God bless you all, and may your dead rest in peace.

But on a more important note, Jackson's mayor, Frank Melton, died a little after midnight after allegedly suffering a heart attack. The man himself was the start of controversies, and I do not feel it necessary to go into detail of these debates. However, I shall say that the man had the most honorable of intentions. He truly cared for children and that they be given an innocent, carefree, and whimsical childhood. If anyone has ever been to downtown Jackson...well, that person would know that many children live very difficult lives. Melton felt that if Jackson could be purified, and cleansed of its vile habits, that the children would have a chance again. As I said, the man had wonderful intentions, but I am not sure if he went about things the right way. At any rate, that does not matter anymore. What does matter is Melton's virtuous character. God bless him and his family, and may he always be remembered as a martyr for the children.

The past week I was sick with a stomach virus, but now that I'm feeling better I can go back to practicing photography and writing. Hopefully some of that will come out okay. ;D

Recently I've developed a crazy Pokémon fandom !! It all started after my Feebas evolved into Milotic and when Lady Fortuna kissed my cheek, and I got a Manaphy... (considered one of the rarest in the games. so HAH). Hence all the new Misty/Ash faves. I think this has a lot to do with the games and also waking up to it each morning (hail cartoon network). I like Dawn, but... Misty's always my favorite. "The Tomboyish Mermaid."

1.Hrm. I'm a wannabe classacist. I've learned Classical Greek & Latin and have taken a variety of courses that focus on the ancient world... and I hope to increase my education of the Classics in college.

2. If ya hadn't noticed, I'm in love with learning languages. As for a future career path, I'm definitely taking teaching or translating into consideration!

3. ...However, recently, I've had this idea that I should become a vet or zoo keeper... or something or other. I've been watching Animal Planet on a daily basis, and have given my puppies and kitties some make-overs. >.< Plus I've had three summers' worth of knowledge at horse camp (as well as a family-owned horsie). Muahahahaha!

4. This reminds me of illnesses. The worst I had was salmonella. A ...ahem, captive... lizard bit meh finger, so we're pretty sure that he was the source of my problem.

*EDiT*: After reading lots of, urm, flames about Dragonball Evolution, I just wanna say people are expecting the impossible. :\ It's a sad and rather bitter truth, but there was no way we were going to get our beloved series on the big screen. Not only is it too much, but some of it will never rightfully leave the world of animation. But... to be fair, I will say that the Oozaru thing was totally stupid. Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? *sits in corner* Nevertheless, I am trying my best to be optimistic about this movie and praise it for what it did right. I think enough of the world is telling that poor director what he did wrong.

For meh birthday, I'm camping out with my little brother, his two friends, my Dad, and my doggies (5 dogs! ). The pinata is Darth Vader's head, which we will whack relentlessly with toy lightsabers. Hrmmmm, and then we will have a Dragonball scavenger hunt. Lmfao. My idea.

Hell, I'm even on meh old Mac. I've been spending too much time with my PC laptop. Time to be with my firstborn. *hugs*

Only thing is, this big baby right here is almost full on memory because of how many songs I've downloaded. *grumbles* So it's going to take forever to upload some photos, but I'm hoping they'll look decent on the mac. I miss submitting pictures to dA!

Piccolo looks good until his hoodie is, err, un-hoodied (not as green as our typical Namekian, sadly). >.< And Goku's character does not have the same Goku feeling to it --but I'm only basing this on him doubting himself ("I'm not ready for this" or something or other...). However, I've decided simply not to expect too much. So then if it's a total let-down, I won't be let down. Yipee.

Anywho, it's been a long time. <.< So if anyone's still on here... hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii. Although I've taken a ton of pictures, I'm focusing my efforts on this DBZ fanfic. I've always wanted to write one, and now I feel that this one is good enough.

Third term is always the hardest for me, for some strange reason (you would think it's the last term-- fourth... but no! haha). My research paper is finished, and all I really have to left to worry about for this term is the National Greek Exam. My teacher wants me to pull off a perfect, and I think I can do that or only miss one. We're going for a perfect, of course. I'll update my journal with my score. Eeek, I'm nervous... Well, with Valentine's Day, new driving experiences, & the constant flogging of AP work, I haven't had time for photos. And it's too bad, really, because I've seen some nice sunsets!

Anywho, I've mainly been working on writing. I mean, what can I do if I try to "become a writer"...we're technically all writers (you can even make some squiggly lines in the dirt with a stick and call it your own language. hell yeah, you are WRITING). So what's the point of getting a degree in English... I'm going to get one in Greek, then work on a Ph.D. lol. We'll see if that actually follows through.

So recently I had to speak Greek in front of a lot of people. My teacher told me it would be around 15... Oh no, it was 50+ when we were in the Lyceum. Haha. Unfortunately for those people, I didn't make much of a fool out of myself, mainly because I got over the fear of embarrassment a looong time ago. Hmm, what else...? I've been editing papers: my brother's, my boyfriend's, my uncle's (papers for LAW SCHOOL, holy crap! o_o), and my classmates'. And driving. And too many labs and tests...argh... and books. WAY too many freaking books. But at least we're finally done with Huckleberry Finn. Give it another week and my boyfriend's Hamlet paper will be finished (I just edit for him, no worries).

Wooh. ^^ I needed to talk. Too much stuff has been going on. WAY too much driving for me. I'm getting my license after my birthday (april 11)... but on the day after my birthday, i have to take the ACT... Aiming for a 31 so I don't have to pay anything. =/ It's slightly possible.

Ohh man. I've been busy with colleges & my boyfriend. It's tough to choose a school that suits us both: for him, a good pre-med program; for me, a good linguistics (& languages, esp. english composition) program... haha. opposites. I won't say what school it is until I'm certain we're accepted. The main problem is that I'm a junior & my boy is a senior. /: That makes the whole issue even tougher. Buuuut, alas, amor omnia vincit! Love conquers all!

^_^ Speaking of which, I got my ACT score back. Heheheheh I can definitely get into the honors college! so as of now it's not a top notch score, but if I perfect my math and actually finish every section, I can make it to the 30s! *happy*

Wooh. I've only had 2.5 hours of sleep for the last 2 days. o_o Meeeeeeeeeeep.

Last Friday night, my boyfriend & I were at our friend's house. It was getting late, & my guy had to leave... My boyfriend's dad was parked outside my house, and we didn't want him to get angry, so we ran as fast as we could to his car (roughly 30 seconds away). On our way to the car, about twenty teenagers were standing in a driveway a few houses across from my own -- smoking SOMETHING and drinking. Well, the fact that i was running with my bf attracted their attention. They started yelling obscenities at us -- me, in particular, b/c i guess from the skirt i wore, they could tell i was a girl. Before we had the chance to yell anything back, one of them ran toward me and began to extend his arm... Without any hesitation or thought, I punched him square in the jaw. He stumbled and quickly retreated to his friends, yelling, "She ----ing punched me!" His friends didn't like that. They started yelling at me again, and at this point, my boyfriend and I were extremely irritated. After commending me for punching the guy, my dear yelled some things that incited the crowd even further. My insults to them didn't help, either. Basically, we had to high-tail it to his dad's car. Even worse, the idiots got in their trucks and started following us. -.- So I had to ride around in the car with my boyfriend and his dad until we lost them. It was quite a night.

This is a true story of something that happened just
a few years ago at USC.
There was a professor of philosophy there who was a
deeply committed
atheist.
His primary goal for one required class was to spend
the entire semester to
prove that God couldn't exist.

His students were always afraid to argue with him
because of his impeccable
logic.

Sure, some had argued in class at times, but no one
had ever really gone
against him because of his reputation.
At the end of every semester on the last day, he
would say to his class of
300 students, "If there is anyone here who still
believes in Jesus, stand
up!"

In twenty years, no one had ever stood up. They knew
what he was going to do
next. He would say, "Because anyone who believes in
God is a fool".

If God existed, he could stop this piece of chalk
from hitting the ground
and breaking. Such a simple task to prove that He is
God, and yet He can't
do it."
And every year, he would drop the chalk onto the
tile floor of the classroom
and it would shatter into a hundred pieces.
All of the students would do nothing but stop and
stare.
Most of the students thought that God couldn't
exist. Certainly, a number of
Christians had slipped through, but! for 20 years,
they had been too afraid
to stand up.
Well, a few years
ago there was a freshman who
happened to enroll.
He was a Christian, and had heard the stories about
his professor.
He was required to take the class for his major, and
he was afraid. But for
three months that semester, he prayed every morning
that he would have the
courage to stand up no matter what the professor
said, or what the class
thought.

Nothing they said could ever shatter his faith...he
hoped.
