I will be getting my first slr digital camera next week

I am so excited.

Sadly many of the first pictures I take will be of drought ridden South Australia.

I'm still really busy with life and work, but I will make sure I give myself some time to learn and experiment with the new camera and I intend to share the results here.

I have joined up for another year

its important i think for people to pay for things when they can afford to, and 38 dollars a year isn't much. that way people who can;t afford it can enjoy it for free

its all about equality

it's a weird day here...raining on and off

the birds outside are singing so loudly and the rainbow lorikeets are making the biggest loudest song to the rain gods,

He has so many pictures that report and record the struggle for freedom of his people in Turkey and fairness for them when the mightier powers are only really interested in stability

I have watched depalmas pictures which are very strong and moving an i would love for someone with journalistic contacts to come across them... maybe it would help their cause if more of us were made aware.

I have decided that i will use my scrap gallery for some pics so that things that for what ever reason don't make my grade...

or somehow i think i will bore you will due to theme repetiveness or overloading your deviation message centre

sometimes i might move one to the otherside, but just warning you sometimes i will hide little treasures there too

now for new people's gallerys i have found that you might like to look at

I have joined a group that is promting the environment and all aspects of it called Green DA

If you care about the environment, feel a passion about any aspect of it, please go check it out. Everyone is allowed to join in and submit work so long as it fits into the ethics of the group and you will find yourself getting extra exposure in a group that cares.

LOL...i went for a consultation to see a surgeon on thursday and ended up in emergency surgery.

Fun ey, ohh well i'm feeling heaps better already and over the next week or so the wound should heal up and i can start walking and getting back to semi fit little me again.

It was 9 am and the reading was 38c or 100F

it's now 11 am and the reading is 40c or 104F

i had an idea when i woke up to go buy a packet of ice, put it in a plastic tub, get my daughter to stand in it while i take a picture for that winter dream competition... but it's too hot to even go to the shop

it is now 42c or 108F under my veranda

my dreaded summer aroma poem has come true for some in my state

on the eyre peninsula south australia a whole town is reported to be burnt out and many others are in danger...at least 5 people have been killed so far

about 15 mins drive from me another bushfire is raging and the freeway has been closed down due to the raging force and danger

Where I live there is no use going out to look, way too many tall trees and hills to block my views.

I really wanted to see polar express before it is taken out the cinemas....LOL after all thats why you have kids so you can go see all the kids movies

Anyway she chose Lemony Snicket's A series of Unfortunate events

It had Jim Carey in it and was really well done, all those graphic designers and photographers out there would all find something great in the movie.

The day christmas fell on this year set Adelaide up for a 6 day break from commercialism and shopping, and the chance to add to shareholders dividends. You know, the things that our world seems to consider the most important and revolve around nowadays.

The papers are reporting the big guns in the shopping industry crying that they will lose millions of dollars of revenue these six days our shops will be closed.

What will benefit from the break is small retailers like the corner deli store...well the few that are left... and families. Imagine most families in the state actually have a 6 day break where noone has to rush...where the kids don't have to live their time in daycare situations...where they can actually spend REAL quality time together....

I wonder if they will remember how...

of course there are some who will have to work through this period...the essentials like doctors, nurses, nursinghome staff, police

So to all those people who do have to work through the period...thanx for being dedicated and I hope you get a nice break with your families at some stage as well....
