University is coming along nicely.

A truckload of work to do but at the same time its just fantastic learning all the tricks of the trade. My mind is constantly buzzing with Maya and I never thought I'd say this but I'm loving every moment of it. The work is so applicable and furthermore I'm getting a grasp on the scope of skills required to perform a professional job out in the industry. Which is yeah, just awesome.

Among other things I was granted a scholarship which led to me purchasing some stuff, both important and personal expenses. One of the things was a Sony Cybershot. So yeah, I've been a boy with his toy, just running around Brisbane shooting anything that moves. Loving it.

Flash - getting back into it. I feel I've been neglecting it way too much. Such a brilliant program that while I know its not fitting comfortably into my career prospects, how could I possibly not indulge in numerous hours of vector art and tweening, making random little cartoons. Might not be a profession but will always be a hobby.

The superb flash artwork of my good friend is worth mentioning as it constantly reminds me how much I adore the prowess of Flash. Thanks bud!

I discovered a good mathematical equation last night:

Brand spanking new ASUS laptop
+
[Flash CS3+Photoshop CS3]
+
Fresh glass of vanilla coke at my left hand
=
Uber happiness.

Yes, I bought myself a new lappy. It was 1800 bucks, for the record... I was heading towards 2.2k but got pissed off at the many setbacks I've had along the path of saving (we all know how it goes, those subway sandwiches sure are pricey XD). But anyway, the first thing I could think of was installing the new *shiny* flash on my *shiny* vista OS and let rip. Finally I can do flash at home, what an awesome feeling, one I haven't had since I moved to the realm known as "Brisbane". Any with a fairly decent laptop like the one I have here in front of me (512mb video memory and 2gb RAM) heavy vector action is no hustle XD Yeeeeehaw!

If anyone is curious about the model - its an ASUS F3P series laptop. Good stuff, good price. Highly recommended if you're not keen on the ASUS Metaboxes (Customizable US import).

As for time - I don't 'realistically' have enough time to work on my personal project - but I don't think that will stop me. It's just too tempting to work on it despite the lingering presence of the overweighted university assessments.

In a nutshell - cool bananas!! A few months of hardcore saving paid off well!

Hi to the entire Dev art community. It's awesome to be here!

Since creating an account on here I've been feeling quite eager to upload new content for the public. I think I might start doing some of my little mini characters that might or might not be used in my new animation project. I really like designing them - they're easy to do, easy to shade and detail, and brainstorming them is no problem in any way.

I pop up a few tonight, actually, and see how it goes.

I hope people like 'em.
