News

The rain still falls. The country is flooded in many areas. Not much warming going on here.
I have done my first wedding shoot and.. well never again. Far too stressful... You may notice I dont have portraits in my gallery, not my best area. So a wedding was a real challenge. I just hope they like the pictures when they return from the honeymoon...

Next project will be a renovation story if I can capture it. We are renovating a sad, old glider, long in need of a new skin. So as soon as a container arrives we will be in it.. right up to our necks in gel coat and sandpaper... OH I might get the outside job of refurbishing the trailer...Our venture has a nick name 'bodge it and flog it'... well it wont really be a bodge but it will be flogged when its all sparkly again.. Although himself is planning a few test flights just in case....
No room for two in this glider. Maybe Ted if hes lucky will be on board the test flight.
meanwhile the duo sleeps soundly in her trailer inside a hanger waiting for the rain to stop and the sun to come out..








When we are grounded we can still watch these two films and enjoy flying around in the sunshine..

I have finally started to feel my ankle is getting better. 3 months and i still cant walk for very long.. I can see the light at th end of the tunnel..

I have set myself a task of gaining ARPS ,perhaps next year as the date for submitions is April. Chosen a tough subject which i cant even get exposure correct yet!! grrr.

Enjoy all you pilots. No its not me in the back, had to be on the ground that day.
This weekend saw us up and away for the first time in England this year, after all the new kit has been installed we were up and away for an hour and half. NOt good enough to go away from the local area but nice all the same to leave the ground again. The flight was smooth and the glider quiet after all the little tweeks done to the airvents. We now have an anti collision device which hopefully more people will have fitted. (it spots other devises and warns you of closing contacts)
I will be going to an air exhibitions this spring and a glider will be parked next to Concorde! i cant wait to be up close and personal with this fabulous aircraft. I once had a flight on Concorde and only wish it were possible to fly it again.
I am having a shot at some video filming too long way to go yet...

I have been filing lots of slides and looking over old shots, finding things i havent seen for some time. Now i have so much to upload!!
Shame we cant sort the content of the gallery into sections.
I have rejoined the Royal Photographic society with an aim to get another distinction. Its about time i did, so here i kick my self in the BTM to get motivated. Although most of my work is here i have duplicated some on the PRS web site. I have to get my head round making my website better too as its rubbish right now.
Any help there would be greatly appreciated.. I am not really into computors but they are a great way of showing your pictures to the world.

Here are some of the pictures i took while in the Pilanesberg national park, a place i would recommend to you all if you can go, its not huge but easy to get around, the hotels are 5 star and all around the park with stunning views. The animals are all really wild no feeding or medication goes on there. The only thing they do is manage the population and as the rhinos are doing so well they are now being sold to other parks. To stop poaching the Rhinos all have micro chips in thier horns... What is the world comming to.. this works and they are thriving.
The park is in a old volcano and is full of interesting rock formations and scenic views.

Hi everyone i am back in my own home after a long and trying time in South Africa...
Long and trying cos i injured my ankle on day one!!! shit yes..
fell out of the safari truck and wrecked my ankle well and truely... But hay it didnt stop me riding the truck to see the animals and did we see some animals.... you bet we did... Pictures will follow as soon as i get the slides developed. I am an old fashioned girl still use film.
Mind you Air France screwed us around so much in Paris i only hope the film wasnt ruined by all the B... scanning...3 times in less than 100 yards!!! In the transit lounge!!! Come on guys get real..
Never again with air france even if it was free i wouldnt fly with them.. sorry ... I never left a bottle of wine before but air france made me... yuk....
anyway after being stuffed full of Christmas goodies we are home again and i cant wait to post off my films to see the elephants and lions etc.
Ohhhh and i got to hold a merecat... what a wonderfully cute animal... especially when she stuck her nose up my nose to say hello!!!
We did some amazing gliding too but no room for a camera in the glider this time. Flew in an thunder storm, and a dust storm... well near enough to touch both. The lightning was scary and never again for me. The dust storm was fasinating and the convergence of the weather created an amazing amount of gentle lift which took us up the side of a forming cloud... wish i could have filmed it...
My good deed for the day, i gave my faithful camera to a young lad working on the airfield, he has a plan to be a pilot and come to england... He was so happy to have a camera, i hope he will be able to afford the film and developing costs. He gave me a badge he had earned in some sort of cadet scheme. I was very humbled.

Venice gets a little wet under foot in November with a high tide and a full moon wate rises up from the drains (not smelly) and fills the squares. Boards are placed around so you can still walk around.



The ride to Venice from the airport makes you feel like a film star! take a private taxi and enjoy the ride.

Scanner is back at last all the dust and grim removed. I have put a few new pictures here and they look clearer.
France was beautiful and we had good weather for the few days we were there. More castles and village pictures to come.
A few shots from London and the glider expo.
I have been trying out a new film (new to me) Velvia and i am not so happy with it, where as its ok in landscapes anything else seems very red as you might see from some pictures i will upload with spiders webs in.
As the main gliding season draws to a close we look forward to a winter trip to South Africa to soar over the wild animals and hope we dont have to land out!

Mood: Busy busy

Heres one for have a nice day...

I shall be in Central London next week with a flock of gliders, on display outside Canery Wharf. Promoting gliding to the young city business people. We hope to show this lesser known sport to a few more people. This year again Britain is world champions in the gliding competitions and we are hosting the first European Grand Prix where a group of gliders, the same size will race around a set course purely to see who is fastest on the day! Gliding being made into a spectator sport with onboard cameras in each glider and short fast contests. Dangerous Yes it will be...
Not as dangerous as crossing the road in England!

I hope to take some pictures at the exhibition but security is very, very, tight we will have to wait and see.

Phew... how hot can it get??? England is boiling and i am enjoying the cool air to be found at 4000ft, from there we can see that the outside pools are full of people and the land is drying out and the crops are ripe. The skys are full of gliders this week as three competitions are running at the same time...The stom we had the other day broke a glider that had been left out so thats one less in the competition! expensive mistake. Apart from a good soaking and a few broken tents we all survived and have since had two good days souring......
