In case you don't know, this is the very first 3D movie in Egypt. I went with my bro, sis and 2 of my cousins.
And I have to say this - the 3D was so good, but that's not all. I also LOVED the artwork, the scenarios, the realism of the characters' emotions on their faces, the overall direction, Jim Carrey's voice talents, and the lessons you learn in the movie. It was awesome for me.

And having a rather depressing idea of Charles Dickens as his stories are so tragic they make me want to hang myself rather than face studying the rest of them in school, I am pleased that Dickens seemed to have learned of a word called 'happy ending' because it is actually there in this story.

WHAT I CAN'T WAIT FOR NOW IS THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG!! The first 2D Disney animated movie since 2004. It's still not in Egypt yet, but the trailer looks sooo awesome and people's comments online are positive, so I really want to see it, if God Wills! A new princess that actually works for herself! THANK GOD!!

Our computer was re-formatted yet again yesterday to re-download the Vista, but the storage disks were left as is. However, every time we re-format, the DVD-ROM stops working. Apparently, there's a virus hiding somewhere on one of the storage disks that keeps tapering with the DVD-ROM. I'll have to transfer anything I want(like my PSD files), and we'll need to format them because not being able to install your programs or use any CD is annoying!

And why is it that writers write but fingers don't fing, grocers don't groce and hammers don't ham? If the plural of tooth is teeth, why isn't the plural of booth, beeth? One goose, 2 geese. So one moose, 2 meese? One index, 2 indices? Doesn't it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If teachers taught, why didn't preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Sometimes I think all the English speakers should be committed to an asylum for the verbally insane. In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Ship by truck and send cargo by ship? Have noses that run and feet that smell?

How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? You have to marvel at the unique lunacy of a language in which your house can burn up as it burns down, in which you fill in a form by filling it out and in which, an alarm goes off by going on.

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race, which, of course, is not a race at all. That is why, when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible.

There is a two-letter word that perhaps has more meanings than any other two-letter word, and that is 'UP.'

Err..Egypt's football team..lost to the USA's football team. It was unexpected because we did good against Brazil and Italy. They weren't doing well on the field for a reason I just don't understand. I hope they tough it up and do better next time ya Rab.

And today, I woke up to he news that Michael Jackson is dead! At age 50. He died young, but I hope he finds peace, and God is Merciful.

It annoyed the hell outta me! I'm taking e-commerce this semester in university and I wanted to create an account to try buying and selling online as I've never tried that before. I wanted to create an eBay account and well, buy/sell stuff using a Paypal account.

I was angry and wanted a reason as to WHY Egypt's not on the list. This must be causing trouble for online Egyptian merchants who can't make good deals because people from other countries only wanna pay using Paypal.

I don't have a concrete reason as to why Paypal doesn't serve Egypt, but one of the reasons I read online was that Egypt's 'high risk' because apparently Paypal was abused by frauds and thieves who took other people's money and took off. Great to know my country has such a good reputation..

Of course to be fair, it may be a completely different reason but the fact remains that other countries in the Middle East can use Paypal like the UAE and Saudi Arabia.

People are saying Moneybookers is a good site but what good will it do you when most people use Paypal for their transactions? Siiiiigh.. what's a girl to do? I really wanted to try this out.

Driver's test in Egypt doesn't include you sitting with an examiner and driving in the street and parking like a normal test would be. Noooooo, you drive in an S shape between these orange cone-shaped things they put in the street that I don't know the name of, then you move a little bit backwards with a curve, and get out of the shape.

Anyway, They told me to come back in a month and retake the test. So that means I can go back in maybe 2, 3 weeks or something. God wills I do well..

They have no water, food, electricity or gas. They're living like cavemen and will starve. Check any person or organization in your area that provides a SECURE, TRUSTWORTHY means to transport all the aids to GAZA. Civilians killed from GAZA so far are around 800 and over 3000 injured! If that is not a beastly, merciless and direct disregard to human rights, I don't know what is!

I've started drawing since I was little, on and off.

2.What triggers ideas for new projects?
Um..I think random bursts of inspiration, doodles that can turn into more decent works, and cartoons.

3.When do ideas come to you? How often?
They usually come to me when I'm so busy I can't even scratch my head. How ironic…

4.How do you earn a living?
Nah, I'm still a student and in Egypt, students usually are full-time students and don't work until they graduate university.

5.What percentage of your income comes from selling your art?
When my art improves and become decent enough, I may start commissioning people here on DA as a start of something bigger.

6.What percentage of the day do you think about or work on your art?
I'm so busy. Being a university student in Egypt is hell. My legs are sore from sitting down too long, studying. I'll need to work out in the mid-year vacation (about 2 weeks). There's no set amount of time. But starting from last year, I started taking my art seriously in hopes of turning it into my work and not just a hobby.

7.When you’re creating, is it difficult for you to switch over to the left side of your brain to handle everyday tasks?
yes, haha. When I finally get into the mood to work on something, it seems as if time flies by. When I have obligations to attend to, when I step away from my art, I feel momentarily miserable. lol.


8.How important is it for you to create art?
It's what I'm good at and what comes naturally to me, so I HAVE to pursue this for the rest of my life. I'm not concerned about WHAT do draw as much as I am about HOW to draw it. Getting ideas is not hard for me. Implementing is. I need to focus on the technicalities such as proportions, shadows and coloring, SERIOUSLY.

9.Would you feel fulfilled if you didn’t have art in your life?
No. Oh, God, no. It's more important to me now than it has ever been.

10.Do you get that feeling from anything else?
I don't think so, no.

11.How long can you go without creating before it starts to affect you physically or mentally?
Sometimes an idea consumes and takes over my mind so bad that I gotta start on it at the closest possible time, even if I'm busy.

12.Do you feel that choosing the artist’s life has been a sacrifice? Have you given up certain luxuries?
Not at all! Being an artist is a brilliant blessing from God. You use your senses and see the world more thoroughly than any other person does.

13.Do you feel like you have a choice in the matter?
No. God gave me the ability and the imagination to do art. He's been very kind to me, and I'm so grateful.

14.If you had to choose another profession to pursue, rather than artist, what would it be?
I think it would be photography (Yep, pretty much art!), because I would love to travel and see the world and meet all sorts of people. I've been living in Egypt way too long…

That's what the Israeli troops' slaughtering of innocent civilians in Gaza is. It's disgusting, beastly and cowardly.
If they're out targeting Hamas, can someone PLEASE explain to me why they're murdering children and civilians who can't defend themselves? They're killing them like they're nothing but dogs - rabid ones at that, too.
And why the hell is NO ONE doing something about it? Where the hell is the UN with all its glory?!

Everybody is just watching and I don't understand why no country doesn't DO ANYTHING!!

I don't think I'll be able to post something new for a while because I have lots to do - my semester exams are coming up and we still have loads to do and study. I just can't seem to like university life. I want my vacation!!

Yesterday, they were showing on TV the 'highlights' of 2008. Of course it was filled with a good amount of war, death, blood and terrorism, but they couldn't not bring the video of Bush and the Iraqi reporter. It truly is a historical moment, and that reporter sure is brave. He abbreviated how most of the world really feels.

1) What would you do if you had 2 weeks to do whatever you wanted?

The simple things in life that I don't have the time to do anymore - watch TV, read a book, draw, play video games, hang out, everything! During the academic year, one has so little life.

I would probably just stare for a while. If the person does nothing, I mightdo something utterly stupid and rash, like attack him or take his eye out or something.

A good thing though, is we're learning CSS among other things now in Uni - it might come in handy one day if the day comes and I get myself a subscription!

I went to see Mamma Mia last week! Left everything and went to see it before it leaves the theatre. While the story is complete bogus, the value lies solely in the songs. The ABBA rule forever! My mum said they're the real stars of the movie, and it's true. Mum grew up with ABBA's songs as a kid, so this movie was her revisiting her childhood! I was so happy!

Aaaand....Obama wins! I hope he's better than his predecessor. Enough said.*lips are sealed*

Also, I'd like to say that I intend to start a series called The Green Library Illustrations. Let me explain: The Green Library is a series of fairy tales in Egypt(they're beautiful, by the way!). You may be thinking the equivalent of Grimms' Fairy Tales, but in reality, the tales are different. But I'm afraid of the driving test. I have to drive through an S-shaped path path of those cone things once forward and another time in reverse. It sounds easy but I really need to work on it before the exam..I'm thinking of the park's parking space early in the morning, so I'll suggest that to mum. She's still too scared to ride with me alone, though.

I went to see Hancock today. It was fun but I liked Will Smith's earlier movie more - I Am Legend. It was just GREAT !

But what I'm really excited about is my new discovery: I went to Virgin Megastore (the only one in Egypt) and found that they were making sales on some of their merchandise. I went totally NUTS when I found some Disney soundtracks on CD down from a horrible 110 pounds to a good 25 pounds ! I bought Mulan, Hercules and Pinocchio. I might go back to see if they'll have any more soundtracks on sale !

Wall-e still isn't out in Egypt, but people here have been telling me it's awesome so I can't wait to see it!
