Well, finally getting my senses back from SDCC.
I finally made it to San Diego Comicon, only took 17 freakin years. hahaha. It was worth it though.

First off I'll start with the weather. it was alot better than it thought it would be.Last time I was in San Diego was aloong time ago and I remember it being humid and hot almost miserable.

Not too hot. Just right. The ocean air was different than in Seattle as well. We caught the free shuttle that the hotel sponsors. Got settled in walked around the neighborhood which was pretty cool by the way.

Friday, was kinda crazy. Had to get the badges and what not.Went to 2, 70s Panels one for Comics and one for Animation. Both were good, very informative. Both were moderated though that sucked cuz I wanted to ask a question. Did a walk through of where everything is and what I might chek out Sat and Sunday.

Sat, I'll start off by saying I made it onto G4's Attack of the Show , walking in the background. If yu blink you miss me though. Mostly hung around Small Press and Artist Alley, but walked around everywhere I could.

Met:

Power Comics guys, Got a sketch from them of Power Man kicking Hulk's ass! lol. Best way to describe their stuff is "homemade pimp".

Phournyne Guy,( Me2,(Sho Murase)one hell of an artists and graphic designer, the first asian chick to rock braids in a good way too.

Mexican Love Comics guys, Talked with them awhile, especially Rafael Navarro that does Sonambulo.

I tried meeting a few people from Deviant there but that was a bust. I say if you really want to meet someone make it easier for you to meet them or don't waste their time. I went to the same booth 20 times just hoping to catch someone there. Didn't ruin my total experiance of the con though.

Sunday: Met Chynna Clugston(Blue Monday) She signed Jeevn's 1st Printing Trade and seemed really pareaciative she had it since it must be hard to find apparantly.

Can't remember what day, haha.seriously, Friday or Sat. but stood in line for around an hour for Hasbro's Exclusive's My Little Pony that I promised I would get for 0becomingX(even though she had no idea I was gonna get it for her. hehe)

Jeevn tried to get the Exclusive Iron Man but they sold out one person ahead of us!

Anyways, had a great time checking stuff out either way. Talked to some great artists. Finally met legendary Neal Adams.

I may be getting days mixed up with who I met but I'll try to include some pics in my gallery either way.

Back from Emerald City Comicon, well actually back on Sunday.May 11th but took this long to write this

Sat we made our way to the ECC.The new venue was awesome. It felt like a real convention this time. Lots more room lots more vendors artists etc. On everyones mind was the Josh Medors Benefit, which Jeevn and I proudly contributed to. After setting up and settling in we waitied for the crowds to come. It was a mad rush of people, very exciting. Overall a good response to our minicomic. We ran out and had to print up more for Sunday. The people to the left of us were cool and I even managed to get a Nightcrawler sketch from one of them.

Sunday we manned our table till around 11:30 or so, which gave us enough time to look around and buy some goodies, get some things signed, and talk to some great artists and writers.(Gail Simone, Andy Mangels, Scruffy Puppies creator, and alot more .) Then 12:50 came around. We made our way to the Hero Initiative booth to meet Dan Didio(Senior Vice President — Executive Editor of DC comics)who was accompanied by his assistant and Steven Borock of CGC, tagged along to foot the bill for lunch.

Dan is a very down to earth and honest guy who answered all of our questions about the comics industry. His assistant was very helpful too in tellng us about the other editorial processes that Dan doesn't handle. We spent a good hour there then made our way back the Con. Jeevn and I did a last once over of the con. Most people at ECC were very friendly and more than happy to talk about their projects and whatnot.

One thing that I can't understand is some artists attitude when someone comes up to their booth. Having a table or a booth at a con is for you to sell yourself and your product not make people feel unwelcome.
I could have done without the assinine explanation of wether or not someone is considered a real "inker" if they ink their own stuff.

Overall great Con. Looking forward to next year. San Diego Comicon is next in July!

Ok, so a few people have asked me why I like Superman so much.
I always had but more so recently. Getting more into the comics and Superman stuff.

Well theres a few reasons actually.

1) Superman is an iconic hero that although he has changed somewhat since his creation is pretty much the same over the years.

2) His mission is pretty much is to help people (all people) as much as he can and not ask anything in return or expect anything back. Not too many superheroes that do that or real people for that matter.

3) It reminds me of my Dad not by comparison in superpowers or anything like that, it just reminds me of somehting me and my Dad always had in common no matter what happened, we always had Superman to talk about and he didnt make fun of. I know now that my Dad sees Superman's finer qualites and what he stands for and that's why.

PS: Just want to add I'm loving Smallville this season(5) it brings so much together that the previous seaon never did. You see the evolution of a character and person for that matter and how he becomes something greater and why. Smallville isnt exactly following Superman's origins to the T but the way they do it it works I think.

Warner Bros. Pictures' Superman Returns to be Simultaneously Released as IMAX® Film in June 2006

IMAX Continues to Rapidly Solidify 2006 Film Slate with Major Tentpole Titles

IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that Superman Returns will be simultaneously released to both IMAX® and conventional theatres on June 30, 2006. The epic action-adventure is directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men, The Usual Suspects) and marks a soaring new chapter in the saga of one of the world's most beloved superheroes. The 35mm version of Superman Returns will be digitally re-mastered into the unparalleled image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience® and Warner Bros. Pictures will be the exclusive distributor of the film to the growing worldwide IMAX theatre network.

"Superman Returns is going to be an epic adventure, and by also offering the film in IMAX's format, we're giving audiences a unique way to experience the return of the Man of Steel," said Dan Fellman, President of Domestic Distribution at Warner Bros. Pictures. "The IMAX theatre network is generating impressive box office returns for Warner Bros. Pictures, and we're excited to continue releasing more of our biggest films in IMAX's format."

"We specifically developed the IMAX DMR® conversion process so we'd be able to showcase tentpole pictures like Superman Returns on the IMAX canvas, and we're delighted to be working with our great partners Warner Bros. Pictures to bring this huge event film to IMAX theatres," said IMAX Co-Chairmen and Co-CEOs Richard L. Gelfond and Bradley J. Wechsler. "IMAX is assembling a diverse and attractive collection of films for next year, which we believe will help drive further expansion of the IMAX theatre network and provide incentive for moviegoers to visit their local IMAX theatres again and again."

"Warner Bros. Pictures has a special expertise in developing groundbreaking tentpole films, and we're thrilled to partner with the studio again on a picture expected to be one of the biggest of 2006," said Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "Bryan Singer is a cutting edge filmmaker, and when moviegoers experience his unique vision of Superman in IMAX theatres, they're going to feel like they are flying right alongside the Man of Steel - an event not to be missed next summer."
I especially love this part.
"You'll be writing or drawing or INKING or coloring somebody else's creation. Maybe you'll get another assignment. Maybe you'll sign an exclusive contract and play a part in the "Big Two's" corporate pissing contest.
Good for you.
