For those of you who don't know, the degree system is as follows:

3rd (lowest)
2:2 (second lowest)
2:1 (second highest)
1st (highest)

And better yet, my friend ~insomniYAK got a 1st too! I'M SO HAPPY I COULD CRY.

The course seems to be winding down, and I've only got 3000 words to do on National Novel Writing Month. That means I'll soon have more time to do personal arty stuff. My tutor says I should draw more figures so I'll be doing that in the meantime.

Here's my priority list (outside of the games course pictures I have to do):

I was really really scared last night, I couldn't sleep, so I got up and wandered around. Then I happened upon my bag full of stuff I'd bought for uni, my lovely mechanical pencils, my half-price Derwent pencils, my kneaded eraser... and I was happy.

Today, I got in there and sat down, and the teacher said, draw. And we drew alllllllll day. I got repetitive strain injury before the first half of the day was up. And my homework? Draw. The teacher says we should be drawing all the time, which I was pretty much doing anyway, so I guess on my days off I'll be doing that, x2. Stock gallery HERE I COME.

The teacher saw my work and said 'nice, did you do Art at college?' Me: 'No...' He said 'You could have fooled me!' Me:

I didn't make any friends, but I don't care. Maybe I will, maybe I won't, but I still have all you guys

Tomorrow is Photoshop. But the graphics tablets they've ordered in haven't come...

Nah this is really an update of the 75 themes challenge and to let everyone know I'm back from a 2-week hiatus. So HI!

So I'm starting a course on Game Art and Design - hopefully that should lead to me getting a job in video game art. YESS, finally something I find easy! Also, they didn't care that I got a D in art at GCSE so HA to my art teacher

I've had a nice day, just went to a specialist cake shop, yet had no cake because the toasted sandwich I had filled me up too much! I got loads of books - Stone Cold by Robert Swindells (~herakushi's recommendation) Haunted by Chuck [can't-spell-his-last-name] (=cxsankh's recommendation) and Night Rising - a vampire book with a strong female character and hopefully no sex (because that's all vampires are about these days -_-). There are a few other books that are on their way I think (ie A Great and Terrible Beauty, another =cxsankh recommendation), but other than that, I just got an Epica cd. Yahoo!

What a great birthday, I've had a blast.

Also thought you'd like to hear an embarrassing story from me... I was at an Italian restaurant for my friend's 19th last night. We'd received our main courses fairly quickly and there was barely anyone in the restaurant. It was confusing to us why it was taking more than half an hour for any waiters to come and take our orders for dessert. My friends, being the shy type, hesitated before calling anyone. I, being the wise-ass that I am, decided it would be funny to loud-stage-whisper ''MAYBE WE SHOULD LEAVE WITHOUT PAYING''. Needless to say both waiters looked at me and my friends all hissed 'THEY HEARD YOU THEY HEARD YOU''. Yeah thanks guys

it worked though! Someone came and took our orders pronto. Now you know what to do to get quick service, kids.

So, you'll remember that I posted the first chapter of my Twilight Rewrite a few days ago, and I was really happy with the response that it got. Thanks so much you guys for reading it.

Unfortunately I posted it for the people on my creative writing course to read, and I feel that they tore it to shreds. I like to think that I can take critique, because I really do want to improve. I don't know if it's just me, because I am a really sensitive person. But I can't deal with my work being taken to pieces by ten different people, and being told to my face that my ideas are underdeveloped and my character should just 'shut up moaning', and that my writing is full of cliches. It helped that I looked up on deviantart about critique and in a few tutorials it was mentioned that critiques must always be respectful and polite, to make the recipient feel like you're actually helping them, and that you mustn't burden the recipient with too many negatives. That's how I try to deliver critique. It's easier on deviantart because I've found that people *are* more respectful, and at least it doesn't seem like they're humiliating you in front of a room full of people

Have you guys had any instances like this? If so how did you deal with it? It made me feel like a physically bad writer, like I couldn't even *think* creatively. I'm feeling a lot better about it than I was, I'd just like to hear from some other artists as well. Thanks in advance.

Also, a thing I wanted to ask my writer/Twilight fan friends: there are a lot of people who really really dislike the Twilight series, to the point where a critique site (TwilightSucks.com) is thriving. So, taking into account the things that annoy the people on TwilightSucks.com and my friends, and the things that personally get my goat, I thought I might try rewriting it and maybe even entering it for the TS contest. Would you guys be interested in seeing it on DA? I'm kind of rusty on my writing and I'm not gonna pretend I'm anywhere near as confident even as SMeyer, but it's just something that I'm really interested in trying out. Thoughts?

So you may or may not have guessed from my ID (it's open to interpretation

) that I'm doing exams soon. Yep, these'll determine my future...

I saw dead people... literally, at the BodyWorlds exhibition yesterday. It was interesting... but whenever you walked past one of the corpses they wobbled. It made me shudder, especially with the skeletons. Hopefully seeing all the muscles underneath the skin will help me with anatomy in future drawings.

Damnit I am so glad for a 4-day weekend (= no stress and as mush procrastinating as humanly possible). And I can get stuck in to long portraits without worrying about my damned essays. I've had about seven in a fortnight, and one of them was a thousand words.

Ah well, it's paying off in some respects: a couple of weeks ago I got full marks in an English Lit essay on Dr. Faustus + unseen text; my media teacher gave me an A for my 3000-word coursework,; and I got an A in an editorial writing practise.

I need an A in Lit if I'm going to get on the course I want to study at Lancaster Uni. I really am working my arse off. *Another note to self: read about Renaissance on Wikipedia*.

News with me is... I GOT TWO UNIVERSITY OFFERS IN AS MANY DAYS

I'm totally in to vampire novels at the moment, my favourites probably being the Morganville Vampires series by Rachel Caine (such a great narrative style!). And I STILL haven't finished Eclipse.

Also, music-wise, you should totally give Evilion a listen! They're great quality and their first album is available for download for free, so they're totally worth a try. The lyrics are great as well! [link]

Annoyingly however I got to the final bosses of Kingdom Hearts, beat most of 'em in one go, and then the thing FREEZES in the credits!!!! 2 HOURS OF WORK LOST
