Instead, here's a recap of what's happened since Halloween. It's 11 PM, but I'll try my best to be funny.

-My grades are kicking ass. I can has an A?

-I got accepted into all of the colleges I applyed to... which is just three. But SJSU was one of 'em, for which I am glad.

-Speaking of college, my parents and I talked about dorms. I'll be doing my best to rake in enough dough to pay for room and board, and my parents will do the same. Sounds fair, if you ask me. So right now I'm looking for a senior friend to dorm with.

-Speaking of friends, a friend who I'm keeping anonymous is considering being transgender.

-Speaking of cross-dressing... oh, wait, I've got nothing.

-Thanksgiving: for whatever reason my family and I went to Disneyland. Yeah... Disneyland. On Thanksgiving. The whole park was decked out in X-mas decoration. But for the first time, I went on Space Mountain. SO. MANY. G-FORCES.

-Xmas: My two big presents are a five octave electric keyboard (YES!) and Rockband FTW (for the Wii). And there was much rejoice. I also got the manga version of FLCL from my gf.

-A friend recommended Sonic Unleashed. For the most part, I like it, but at the same time, I can't help but ask...
+How are the missions and "collect 100 rings" levels necessary enough to advance the storyline?
+Why are there more night levels than day levels when the day levels are far superior?
+Why was there so much effort in the graphic detail in cutscenes (which look freaking amazing - especially the intro) when the writing for them is so God-awful?
+Can't I just get to the next level without talking to strangers?

-But seriously, I like the game.

-New Years: Spent it with my sweetheart. ^^

-Today: Finally made use of those iTunes gift cards. Got the songs Godzilla, Come On Eileen, Take Me Out, and the obligatory Rick Roll song. ^^ Anyone heard of these?

-Tomorrow: heading to Lake Tahoe... or some place around Tahoe. The place ended with "Springs." But there'll be snow. I doubt Miss Hyrule would like it. xP

Tomorrow is the trip to Angel Island, a trip my Boy Scout troop takes every year, and is one of my favorite outings. We bike around most of the island and get a nice view of San Francisco. I'm already packed.

But I just can't fully enjoy camping. We make and eat half-assed meals, sleep cold at night, and, being the troop leader, I have to make sure that the bike loading, car assignments, ferry boarding, biking route, movement of camping equipment and bikes, community service, sleeping arrangements, night hike, packing up, and unloading all go smoothly. There's also an English test on Monday.

Stay at home and wallow in my own self-pity and regret, while getting nothing accomplished?

Or go to Angel Island and force my sanity and grades to suffer, while getting even less accomplished?

Anyway, if I'm not replying to your comments tomorrow or Sunday afternoon, you know why.

When it comes down to it, about 90% of what I do, I do for others (the other 10%, for the record, is TV and video games). I don't recall any instance in which I turned down a friend's request for a piece of food. Also, if a friend of mine asks me to loan them a dollar, and I have a dollar, about four times out of five, I'll do it. I think I remember once loaning a buck to a kid I hardly knew at school.

Maybe I'm just a pushover? Maybe it's a lack of respect for myself? Maybe both? Regardless of reason, I can't avoid that I can't help but put others before me, even at my expense.

So, as one might imagine, it's difficult to tell my girlfriend that I won't be able to go on the camping trip that she's planned for many, many months. I feel torn.

Am I a robot, designed to serve others? Or just a weak 17-year-old, giving in to the will of the stronger being?

Due to the length of time it takes me to study for my history classes, my parents have hired a paid tutor to help my study skills over spring break. Oh boy...

It's not so much that I don't like the old dude, but for one reason or another, I haven't exactly been happy since today's session. He suggests study methods and patterns that I'm not exactly used to, or that I think will be near-impossible for me to adapt to. Although I don't like the word, I suppose what could describe my situation is overwealmed. -_-;

I wanted a tutor for the sole purpose of decreasing my studying time (it takes me a full day, non-stop, for me to study the average history assignment). But now I'm not sure what my problem is. My essay scores are low. Is it because I can't remember what I read? Is that due to my notes? Am I writing my notes in the wrong format? Or is it because I'm so distracted by things that it takes me so long to write my notes? @.@

As much as I hate to say this, I'm not exactly sure what I want right now.

However, this was only session one. With luck, I'll get the answers I want and need from the other few this week (positive... gotta stay positive...). Until then, I'll have my music to accompany my temporary confusion; it's a great song that helps when you're unhappy for whatever reason: Closing Time.

So, last night a friend and I went to the midnight release and got a copy of what is undoubtedly the best game for the Nintendo Wii, and perhaps the best video game series ever. I'm talking about Super Smash Bros. Brawl. We were incredibly glad that we got our copies.

I don't know why fate caused it this way, but do you know what happened!? I got the three most-hated words ever uttered by a machine:

Disk Read Error.

AAAAAAAAAGGH!!!

Luckily (for now), my friend brought HIS Wii to my house to play the game, so I did get the chance to play some multiplayer and Subspace Emissary. Both kicked ass, which is needless to say.

The Nintendo website says that because Brawl was made as a double layer CD, some Wiis cannot read the disk due to dirt on the disk-reading lens (which sounds like a bunch of crap to me...). So our Wii is being repaired.

Which means, for one full week, while all my friends will be talking about it, I will be brawl-less.

...bummer. -_-

To my first journal entry.

A couple days ago, while doing my homework, I looked at my mirror and got a bad feeling that's tainted my heart since. It's the feeling of normality and repitition. During, after, and long after high school, it's not gonna feel much better. Variety is the spice of life. Season your life with Love's paprika and Bliss' salt and pepper.

Listen up, Sophomores. Junior year is difficult. If you're lucky/unlucky enough to have an AP class, it's gonna take up quite a bit of your time. Sorry, but when school first starts, they don't take it easy on you - it starts out rough and stays there.

But don't give up. Don't lose hope. The difficulty of the work stays about the same throughout the year, with or without an AP class. But no matter how hard the work is, if I can survive Advanced Placement US History course with a B, you can damn well pass anything.

It's hard. I know. But whatever "it" is, you can do it.

And one last thing: more likely than not, you'll have your troubles, and others will find out. After finding out firsthand what it feels like to get advice without asking, I know how annoying it is. My advice: stay true to your own ideas and analysis of the situation - you know more than anyone your situation - but also stay open to others' ideas. While it's annoying to hear someone's thought on a subject that you know best...

Perspective is a gift, and should not be wasted by the stubborn.

Just stay positive and think things through, and you can do anything.

...Okay! Now my rant is done. Now I can be that silly dude that you guys know. ^^ Just remember what ol' Scoot told you.
