I wanted to feature some pinhole photographers who have gotten it down. I hope to be at their level before next Thursday.


"Treasure" by ~svegliar shows how a convex/concurved paper can interestingly alter the composition. The exposure is right on.


Pinhole photography can depict a landscape or portrait in such a way that seems to alter time. "The brand new old picture" by ~Cindd shows this time alteration by the lighting and texture of the portrait. I also appreciate the look that the lack of prominent facial features adds.


The effects of pinhole photography varies through the range of subject matter, lighting, etc, to create as it seems a totally different perspective on our world. "Mary full of Grace" by ~Nitekry sent chills through my skin. The statuette's ghostly figure seems to loom out of the dark background as the vignetting lulls a darkening sky. Very well done.

Anyway. To those who haven't been updated, I finally got my dog. Her name is Caboose and she's a 2 year old female Australian cattle dog. See her here.




I took a figure drawing class this past semester and it was a hell of a lot harder than it seems. I decided it was time to feature some more traditional medias and here are the figure drawings I thought were worthy of recognition. Enjoy!


This self-portrait by ~studiocafe is a beautiful depiction of the combinations of skin and structure. Wonderfully done.


Weight, balance, and selective shading have all been mastered in this figure study by ~cbernhardt.


Entrancing curves and superior line quality in ~Bellerophon13's Figure Study show us the entrancing aesthetics of gentleness and importance of form. Notice how the hand on the left is not complete, yet it enhances the atmosphere of the piece in which a completed hand would not have. This is a prime example of knowing what to draw and what not to draw.


I ended the semester with a lousy B in my figure drawing class. However I am glad it's done with and I can now move on to better things.

I absolutely hate it. I hate it with such a passion, I've never even talked openly about it before.

I hate it so much, I considered taking Accutane.

The thing is, I would have to surrender my body and personal (sexual) experiences for monthly testing while on this drug... but only because I'm a female.

This is a BIG DEAL because no one but myself should be in control of my body.
If I were to go on Accutane, I would have to take a pregnancy test every month, sign a consent form for two types of contraception, and disclose personal sexual information. If I were to go on this medication and happen to get pregnant, I would be forced to have an abortion.

Don't get me wrong. It is cruel to bring a deformed baby into this world (society condemns handicapped people too); but my point is that NOTHING justifies government control over a woman's body. Nothing.

Abortion may be immoral for some, but controlling women's bodies isn't?

Think about it.

Once you're introduced to feminism, you are never the same.

I was born into this sadistic society and for a very long time I accepted and even ignored how women are being constantly controlled and dominated over, often ignorantly.

Why is it that men are applauded for a one night stand while women are chided, often being called whore, skanks, and sluts?
Why, in America, is any woman bigger than a size 6 jeans considered fat? Is it the men or the women who are deciding these *cough* "ideal" body standards?
Why can't society see an attractive woman without garnishings of make-up, mini-skirts, and high heels?

I don't need to be superficial to be a real woman.

Now that I've seen how vicious and perverted and callous all of this truly is, I'm beginning to take steps towards changing it.
Let go of your preconceived notions concerning feminism. If you believe men and women should be equal, you are a feminist.

Everyday I'm exposed to gender inequalities (blatantly obvious and subtle) and I am absolutely sick and tired of women being objectified as simple sex icons and "put into their place" as the "proper submissive" gender.

We've all seen it happen. In real life and through secondary experiences.
In a lot of ways, contemporary culture is wrong, sick, twisted, and corrupt. It needs to change.

I have been taken advantage of simply because of my sex and I've seen and heard of my friends being in similar occasions multiple times.

This is not a rant. This is not a preach. This is not a lecture.
This is a revolution that you are a part of. I'm doing my part to enlighten people who have been blinded by the familiarity of our society. No one deserves to be naive.

I am pissed off.
