I've been on vacation this week and it has been amazing. I haven't really been anywhere really but I've been sculpting, decorating for halloween, working on my costume, recording music, and just plain enjoying life. I'm still dreading the cold weather coming but this past week has been quite beautiful the past few days. I've walked the neighborhood, eaten good food, drink good drinks, and spent time with good friends. I'll be posting my sculptures, as I anticipate they will be done within the next couple of days. We're hosting a halloween costume party again this year so this weekend should be fun too. I just thought it would be nice to document this place in time and show my appreciation.

Its a nice summer day and I'm off but I'm in front of the computer. Dare I step outside and further last weekends sunburn? A sunday drive would be nice but my car isn't in driveable condition so I've been trucking around town on a ten speed. I enjoy a bike ride. I had forgotten the sensations involved in bicycle riding. Its a nice escape. Even when I sleep lately I have had trouble escaping. I'm so burned out of my job. It catches up and reminds me every so many months and I begin to get anxiety. I become snappy when anyone says "you should do something with your art" and I reply with all kinds of negativity because its like "You're right! I never thought of that" or they'll say "maybe you should go to art school". I could rant on about this, but this deviantart page is my happy place and I'd like to focus on creativity and insight. The point is, I don't feel like drawing anything today so instead I'm going to ride a bike and get myself a milkshake, but maybe this time I'll put on sunblock.

1.So I finally started working on a couple of projects with my sculpey pro. This stuff will likely change my life as I know it. I cannot believe how it just understands every gesture I make into the clay. Anyway, I'll be posting them as soon as I finish them but they are going to take some time. They might be the most intricate sculptures I've created to date. On a side note, recycling trophies is fun.

2.Here comes the cold weather and my seasonal anxiety. Just that cold bite of the morning is enough to dread the whole day. I've come to realize however, depression is sometimes the best motivation to force the mind to escape. I'm sure that sounds like a cheesy horoscope but its true. Scorpio doesn't feeling like stinging today because he has scoliosis.

3.I hate being on the phone all day. I hate that trapped feeling of sitting in the cubicle. Sure I could stop whining and just quit, but what then? Back to retail? Back to the chocolate factory? I hate that place ever since Charlie took over.

4.Life has been good to me, I have a good woman and my future step-daughter thinks I'm pretty cool. I have been playing my new upright bass every night and I'm getting pretty good. My car runs and I love our new house... I've been eating way too much mexican food lately.

I hadn't posted anything in a while and I haven't had time to do any color work so I decided to just post some of the stuff I've been messing around with at work in black and white. I finally got weekends off after nearly a solid year without ANY weekends off. I guess that's cool but I still can't help but dread that place and talking to those people on the phone trying to cure their ipod and computer ailments. Oh how I'd druther a sharp stob in the eye...

Our Halloween party was a success however. Great fun, good times, however our refrigerator is now out of commission and I have $6 to my name for the rest of the week. I will have my very own designated workshop and I don't have to share it with a bunch of storage crap like christmas decorations, lawn mowers, and bicycles.

With that being said I would expect to get alot more work done once I get everything moved in. I recently purchased my 1st block of super sculpey and I can't wait to get my fingers into that stuff. Meanwhile, I envy the unemployed fat guy who sits around and plays nintendo at his moms house. Since I was hired through a temp service I call them to let them know but the recording says "they are away from their desk". Which I hope doesn't cause me to do a "no call no show." I feel miserable my eyes are on fire and they are all gooey and sore, I wake up in the morning with my eyes completely crusted shut and I have to run my eyes under hot water to get them to open. I also have swollen glands in my throat and my ears are stuffy. Not sure if that has anything to do with pink eye but I'm going to the doctor at 1pm to sort this whole mess out... and to top it all off, I haven't worked long enough to have insurance yet.
My relationship with Airbrush

I hate airbrush. I spent 128 dollars 2 years ago on a brand new Iwata Eclipse HPC. It took me a long time to pick it out because I've always had problems in the past with cheap brands. I read reviews and articles about this model and they all say it was easy to use, easy to clean, and was good for beginners and intermediate. I however, have problems every time I use it. I don't blame the airbrush, I just blame the relationship I have with airbrushes in general.

It worked for about 5 minutes today until it jammed up (which happens to me everytime I've ever used an airbrush) I tried to run the naptha through it like the instructions said but all that comes out is air and no liquid. So I take it apart and clean it all and I can't get it back together. I'm pretty sure that I know what parts go where... but they won't go. the piece behind the trigger loads from the rear and is supposed to stand up in the hole that it shares with the trigger. It refuses to stand up. I can push with all my might and it won't go. So I slightly bend it with a pair of pliers and it will finally fit.

So I figured my last failed attempt was because my paint was too thick. It seems like it sucks all the thinner paint through and leaves this gunky rubber stuff behind which is no doubt causing it to jam so I blame it on the acrylic paint .

So this time I use a brand name airbrush paint and thin it down and stir it like mad until my hand hurt. I tried to airbrush my test sheet and still nothing coming out. I'm trying really hard not to get frustrated because I have confidence that my investment was a smart buy.

I adjust the needle a bit and finally some paint came out ... for about 2 minutes and then jammed again. I kept repeating the process over and over. Dismantle, clean, reassemble, this time I use ink. Still no color coming out. I finally gave up before I become more angered and I destroy everything in sight. Besides I've already wasted 3 hours of my day making a mess. I know it is something I'm doing wrong, but it is still pissing me off.

HULLLLKKK SMMMAAASHHHH !!!!!

Basically what "style" I'm looking for is (dark humor) comic strips like Farside or maybe edgier stuff sort of like Robert Crumb but more modern, Similar to Lobo but a bit less hero-style, Tank Girl style is almost perfect.

As far as content, I'm looking for surreal, oddball, off the wall, bizarre, outsider kind of stuff. Maybe what I'm looking for doesn't exist, or maybe it is just hard to find because every time I type in Comics, or even underground comics, all this Anime,Manga, Japanimation keep coming up. Once in a while I find stuff that I "almost" like in Heavy Metal or Full Metal Fiction. Slave Labor looked like they had some cool stuff but I can't get any response from them.

If anyone knows where I can find this "seemingly underground" stuff, please let me know. If you know of a keyword or a publishing house that I haven't mentioned here that might help me find what I'm looking for, it would greatly be appreciated.

Sarah Silverman was brought to New Castle (my hometown) to be punished for her remarks about Brittney Spears children on the VMA's. Why New Castle? Because the laws allowed someone to be be-headed in our courthouse because our courthouse is new. I'm seeing this whole thing going on local news and apparently I'm the only person upset by this.

So I get in my car and drive uptown but there are all these people there and (as usual when I go uptown) there's nowhere to park. So I park in the grass of the courtyard and I run inside but I'm too late! They have chopped off her head ! But for some reason her head is still alive. The towns people are cheering. I grab her living head and I'm running out the door with it. Suddenly, I hear someone say "He's trying to save Sarah Silvermans head!!" This made Sarah laugh.

There's a chase scene of me running with Sarah's head instructing me which buildings to hide behind. The whole time she's acting like this whole thing is a big joke. She's still being a complete smartass and I can't stop laughing because I keep hearing "He's trying to save Sarah Silverman's head!!!!!!

I woke up and couldn't stop thinking about it.

The End
Apparently, I will trade artwork for prosthetics.

I watched the James Dean film "Giant" today. 2 people fall in love within minutes of meeting then get married the very second they get in Texas and seem to constantly argue. A woman was killed by a horse. A poor man strikes oil and becomes rich. A man marries a mexican woman which leads to a couple of terribly choreographed fight scenes. Then like 3 hours later the movie is over. If that's not bad enough James Dean dies for real only days later.

Ice Road Truckers...yeah, its freaking on again.

I drove 40 minutes yesterday only to find that Rax is now an abandoned building and there's nowhere else to eat except for places that are identical to the places in my town.

I also watched "Deranged" today. Nobody was killed by a horse, but a girl got caught in a bear trap.

I know how the earth was made . I saw it on tv . Before there were any forms of life on land there were these small single cell worm-like creatures that made feces that turned to these big rock mounds which released oxygen into the atmosphere and this is supposedly where all the oxygen comes from?!?!?!? Holy feces!!!

It might be a nice day outside but I can't go out there in my underwear without getting arrested...

The fire at the tire store across from the music venue yesterday was apparently more interesting than the music being played. The photos I took of black smoke in the distance is hardly worth mentioning so I probably won't...

I recently got a haircut. I can't cure leprosy so there is no reason that I should be walking around looking like Jesus...

My girlfriend is a white girl with nappy hair... She's at work and I'm not. Her hair hasn't always been that way. We've been twisting it so she doesn't have to comb it anymore. I didn't have to comb my hair today because I don't have to go to work.
