Yesterday I weent and saw Julie & Julia and I gotta say, that bitch had it coming to her. So unexpected, but perfect. The movie made me hungry, which was okay since I went right out to dinner after. I went to the old Minoz village and thee service was terrible and the food was only okay. I think they're going downhill. It was fun being out with my grandparents though, as they can be pretty rude in that sort of situation "WHERES MY BREAD" "I WANT THE BILL" and then only tipping one dollar XD
Today I'm out shopping for clothes. While I'm out I'm also picking up my new lace parasol and fan (hopefully) and dropping off my pocket watch for repair.

My friend Dylan and I played along with others inculding Creative Arts alumni, a beautiful trio (with viola, classical guitar, acordian, hand drums, harmonica, classically trained voice, and spoken word in korean, french and spanish) and a few random people who sauntered in off the street and wanted to jam. The event brought in tons of people off the street to admire the art and music. This was the first time the gallery has ever been open late on a friday night (scary!) and it worked out perfectly!
Secondly, I've been whipping out about 3 portraits a day at the show; too fast to even upload them on here! My work is just getting better and better and faster and faster and each new piece I do amazes me even more.
And here's a big one; one of the teachers from a local art school came in this week and asked me to teach a course there! So, I still have no idea what I'd be teaching; maybe gouache, maybe pencil crayon, maybe portraits, I don't know. But I'm really excited for the oppritunity.
Finally, I've had quite a few new things come up, that I'm not allowed to tell anyone about yet, but YAY!!!
I'm off to work today (at the Macklin gallery) and then back to school tomorrow (the Art of the City gallery) and then have an English exam on monday.
God I love my life.

Update:
Sold a painting yesterday for $300 bucks. Took me 3 hours to do, so I'm makin about $1oo an hour. Oh, and I personally didn't like the painting very much. Score.
Will get back to art after I finish my exams and get some sleep.

If I haven't already mentioned, I am back in Creative Arts almost full time now, but still taking the photography on the side. Recently, I've found this freakish ability to complete works of art super fast, so as soon as I can, I should upload somewhere close to 20 pieces of art. I've been painting (oil, acrylic and gouache), drawing (pen and ink, graphite, coloured pencil, crayon) as well as doing some mixed medias and (as always) photography. Hopefully when I go on this mad uploading spree, I could get some critique on my work. That'd be nice.

Considering making a new avatar today, I'm in the mood for change.

I don't know why, but I'm really craving some D&D right now. Hope I'll get to play sometime this (long) weekend.

Just becuase I'm busy, doesn't mean I don't want commissions people. I don't charge much because I enjoy my work, so do not hesitate to ask!

So, the past month has been BRUTAL. Between Creative Arts, University English, Specialist High Skills Major and trying to keep myself sane, I've hardly had anytime to think.
Pretty much in the last month I have:
-Designed a graphic to go on one of those "green" shopping bags
-designed an advertisement for some kick ass boots
-done a cute little illustration to be reproduced and sold
-Big powdered graphite (Holly)
-small (9x11) powdered graphite (goat)
-a mural (have I mentioned that?)
-built, stretched and primed my first canvas :3
-completed a soapstone carving (black soap stone is a BITCH)
-done 5 abstract acrylic paintings
-done front and side view of a skull
-done front and side views of the muscles in the face
-done the bones of a hand in guache
-working on pastel sholder bones
-about 20 pages on hardcore acedemic drawings
-5 landscape drawings
and
-accumulated almost 50 concepts for art that I currently have no time to do

And that's just what I can remember

I assure you there's tons more.
So, I have an excuse to be exhuasted, right?

A look in the mind of a struggling artist. Work, worry and wonder. The future seems so unclear right now, and no matter how much I enjoy my present, I'm always reacting for whatever's next.

So this whole journal CSS thing is confusing but worth it, and the 120 thumbs per page is WONDERFUL!
So I'm working on a surreal drawing at the moment and am about to return to my big powered graphite of a goat. I forgot my powered charcoal of the side view of a human skull at school, which is rather frusterating as I have a three day weekend, but I'm sure I can just deal with it and do other art.
The painting on the histarical society mural really took off yesterday and it's looking better already. The sky is blue and the grass is green and neither are uniform colours (YAY!)
I go back to school on Monday, hopefully with my Goat finished, finish up my charcoal, and start either my large highrealism powered graphite or start doing some printmaking. On the 24th I think I go to Ottawa and sometime I have a gallery tour of Ktown, and I also have a University consultation coming up. Either way, I am WAAAAY busy... and, I must admit; I LOVE IT!

There's a little bit of money in it, but I'm doing it mostly for the experience. Now the fun part, we were hired to FIX the mural. It was started a long time ago and was done in a colouring book style so kids could colour in the mural. Didn't work. The kids ruined the already kinda sketchy painting (2 of the people have 3 hands) Since then another group had been hired to help fix it, but gave up it was so bad. But I assure you, by the time we finish with this, this is going to be marvelous. Just marvelous.

I'm actually scared shitless, as I only know one person going into the program and I am rather shy meeting new people; I wish I didn't have to leave behind so many of my friends.
Also, the school the program is held at is in a rather sketchy part of town and the school is populated mostly by gangstas; I really hope I don't get shot, as that would be rather counter productive in my art journey.
All the same I am really looking forward to the program. I will be doing artwork almost all day long (minus an acedemic course which I have to take) with profession help and a full class of other likeminded indiviuals. This is what I dreamed of doing from a very young age, I didn't think that it was achievable in any realistic state of mind, but here I am.
I am so extremely full of emotions right now that I don't know what to think of this. I'm still in shock that I've been excepted into the course to be honest.
Well, Wish me luck in this challenge and I hope you all luck in whatever is currently worrying you.

This included the most random crazy things like hug a stranger, eat a hamburger covered in spit, race up the escalator the wrong way, pet a kitten, autograph a cow, run a lap around an old person, go to a sit down restaurant and order only water (which I tipped $2 for), jump on beds, have a pillow fight, chew ABC gum, sing a Britney Spears song while standing in line, make up a secret handshake with a stranger, have mortal combat in tried on sports equipment, spin kick in tried on shoes etc.
Chilled with Craig loads. lotsa fun.

You know, half of us Canadians had it off already? Before this year, Febuary 18 was known as Heritage day, but no one really knew about it... unless you had it off. But the government gave us this nice loverly holiday; family day. What a thought; spending time with your family... Are we Canadians that pathetic that we need the government to tell us to do something that basic before we actually go and do it? Seriously people, your family may be insane, they may all be complete assholes, they may be complete wastes of life, but they are your own flesh and blood. The least you can do is spend one day of the year with them.
I kinda wish I was somewhere else this family day though. Yes, I spent the morning with my lovely family; drinking coffee and eating pasteries, but I do that all the time. I'd just like to be in town, spending the day with someone. Then again, maybe I shouldn't think like that; I've got a pretty extensive to-do list.
I skipped english the other day to shoot a bunch of photography, and I have yet to write an entire presentation looking deep into a fictional short story. I really want to make it about questioning religion, but I don't know where my teacher stands on a religious scale and I don't want to fail the course just cuz I rubbed him the wrong way on my very fist presentation... but come ON, the story is just asking for it!
I've gotta go withdraw some money from the bank, in order to pay for my tickets to go see (drumroll please) DIMMU BORGIR AND BEHEMOTH!!! I can't wait!!! A bunch of friends and I are all going up to Toronto in April and it's going to be the coolest thing ever... I mean, the car ride alone is gonna be a fuckin party! There are some things I'm gonna have to watch though... like there have been razor pits at Dimmu concerts; mosh pits people start up, and bring razor blades into 0_o and just normal moshpits at dimmu/behemoth concerts are pretty intense... but you know what, I don't care. It's gonna be the metalist thing ever. The pain will be worth it. I just have to remember all my mosh pit etiquet. and if I don't want to mosh, I think I'm bringing a good enough guy to put his arms around me. I just gotta remember though; no chains. I don't want to die... though if I were to die in the next year, that's where I'd want to die.
Well, I can't get too excited, because before I die at that concert, I've got to make it through a show of my own! In a few days I'm playing a coffee house at my school with my punk band Pie Over Cake. Sure, punk isn't exactly my favourite genre of music anymore, but once you've been in a good punk band, you'll know what it's like. Pure fuckin energy. It should be a pretty good show too, considering coming out of band practice, I can bearly move and hurt all over. We're gonna be doing a bunch of cover songs, Ramones, Misfits, Rancid, Clash, Bad Religion; stuff like that. The entire crowd better be moshing. Or I'll cry.
And you know, with all this stuff to worry about right now, I'd still rather be chatting it up. I think my priorities are a little out of wack.

It's been neat. On Monday, I ended up going crazy at an art supply store and buying tonnes of new stuff, getting some "new" band T's from a used clothing store, playing Scrabble with some friends at a games store downtown and getting an amazingly HUGE lunch for under $15 (including a large pizza, chips and a case of cream soda.
Also this week the for sale sign was slapped up in front of our house... And sadly, the thing I'm going to miss most is my desk :[
So I've chilled with some friends, sat around missing others like nuts, and ran convinced myself that I'm probably the coolest person ever.
I've done a bunch of drawing and photography and nearly cracked under stress only once.
This past few weeks have just been insane, full of extreme highs and extreme lows, and I'm almost loving it. Since when has my life been so interesting?
So, I hope all of you have been having fun, and I hope the excessive amounts of photography I'm uploading hasn't been bother any of my Traditional Art obsessed watchers.

Drafting board (my dad made it for me, it's soooo nice and pretty and totally adjustable), easel, oil, water colour and acrylic paints, screen printing kit, litho block printing kit, chest of drawers (for all my paper and sketch books and stuff), new XD card for my camera and...
my sister got a drawing tablet with photoshop elements 5.0 so I get to hijack it and draw lotsa really cool shit! So expect to see some digital art from me some time soon.
I think since photoshop is on this computer, my scanner will work too

Write ten things about my art. Okay.

1) I do actually enjoy some of my own art
2) I feel bad for some people because they practice like crazy and they aren't that good, but a few months ago I picked up a pencil and could replicate photos. I'm sorry people, it's not my fault
3) I always feel like I'm ripping someone off when I draw; the model, the photographer, who ever's idea it was....Hell, even the people that made the pencil I'm using.
4) I don't think my art is that creative at all. See above.
5) I spend 8 hours on a drawing and 15 minutes on another an their both good. That makes me feel ripped off.
6) I really do enjoy art. I really get to zone out when I'm drawing and I like that.
7) I've been obsessed with art all my life. My earliest memories are of drawing.
8) art runs in my family. It's really no surprise I'm so into art.
9) I don't consider writing like Billie's diary art, I do it for fun. However, my poetry is 100% my art. Check it at [link]

I have a computer!

Art lessons are great, turns out I can do a whole lot more than I thought I could.

I've been fooling around with so many different thing: watercolour pencils, water souluable grafite (check it out), pen and ink, oil pastel, chalk pastel, charcoal, Microsoft paint (mouse), pencil, coulour pencil, woodless coloure pencil... I feel like a phycho lil kid. It feels good.

I've been drawing so much I'll have to upload 19,895,752,678 drawings and the website will crash and you'll all blame me for just being too amazing

Schools coming again and I'm super excited!!!! Art class, photography, communications technology and english class being my favourites. Can't wait to see all my friends again.

Has ant one else read 40 books over the last 2 months? I'm on Harry Potter right now, The Vampire Armand by Anne Rice is next.

Ummm.... running out of things to type...
