So, I'll try to give a quick life update within the next few lines:

Just graduated with my bachelor of science in Biology - will be doing a Masters of Science in Nutrition this coming year. Will be getting my research published in two scientific papers - YEAH! Applying to medical school this summer. Got a new 2009 Subaru Impreza (yes, that is a car) this past weekend. Should be fun :P

As to why I haven't been submitting art/checking my devArt account recently, I've been busy with school work. I had to write four final papers in the final week of school. Between my gf, my schoolwork, partying, research, and friends, I haven't really found a good chunk of time to draw, until now. I have about a weeks worth of time to kill before I have to return to my lab for more research work.

I just uploaded a new piece of WIP Superior fanart that I drew today. I hope that you guys enjoy it.

It's the beginning of the school semester, and I'm still ridiculously busy. If I'm not in class, I'm in lab, at meetings, or with my gf. Likewise, I am also working on my med school apps, which is going to take quite a bit of time.

In either case, I'm not going to be drawing for a while.

Just thought that you guys would want to know, in case that you were wondering why I've been inactive for the past couple of weeks.

First off, I've been informed that the skin color on my CGs is a little weird (I just noticed it myself when looking at them on my friend's comp). The reason for this is that the monitor on my laptop is messed up and so colors like yellow look different. In fact, my computer screen cannot show pure white!

Since my laptop has all of my CG programs and tablet drivers, I'm stuck with using a crappy monitor for all of my precise coloring and shading. Ironic, isn't it?

Also, I noticed that I just surpassed 2k pageviews. This means that a 2k kiriban is coming. Don't worry, I already had a CG in works a week ago, so I'll be finishing that as a kiriban.

...and back to studying for me :(

From 8am to 9am, I'm eating breakfast/getting ready.

From 9:30am-6pm, I'm in the library studying.

From 6-7:30pm, I work out + bike.

From 7:30-8:30pm, I eat dinner/washing dishes.

From 8:30-9pm, I read the newspaper (hey, I gotta stay in touch with the rest of the world)

From 9pm - 10pm, I do whatever the heck I want.

From 10:30-11:30 pm, I'm talking to my significant other.

I go to bed by midnight.


So as you can see, my day is pretty much filled up. I'm trying to draw on my evening free time (and sneak a couple of minutes in the library) but it's difficult to do any real CGs, since I'm not at my computer most of the time.

Hope that you guys enjoyed my last update: "Nighttime View". It took me a while to make it , but I think that it helped to keep my skills sharp.

So yeah, FYI: I probably won't be commenting/posting until after Sept. 8th, since I'll be very busy until then.

I am working on another drawing, though. It will be Yagami Hayate again (StrikerS version, not from A's). I will make sure to get her face correctly drawn this time around.


On a side note, I ran out of instant coffee yesterday. To make matters worse, I spend the last of my money getting 150 Three Musketeer bars for my residents.

Also, one of my good friends is having a housewarming party this weekend (she is getting my favorite drink, so I can't say no), and another one wants to take me to a hookah bar on Sunday.

I'm currently working on some Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS fanart, which I'm hoping to finish by the end of the week. I think that if I can get a good hour or two of drawing time everyday until the end of the week, I should be able to finish, since I've already finished the lineart aspect of it. Let me just say that the outfits in Nanoha are very detailed and difficult to draw, especially with Hayate's knight armor and staff. Of course, she is my favorite character from Nanoha, so I figured that I might as well try drawing her at least once.

However, I think that after practicing with drawing Hayate in Illustrator CS2, I've gotten the hang of varying stroke width, which makes the art look more pen drawn and less vectored. I don't feel like posting it up as a WIP, so here it is:

So yeah, 2 weeks of lab work, 4 more practice MCATs, one final exam, and 10 days of job training left before I'm finished with everything.

First off, I finally got a tablet. After TSA officials at the Newark International Airport went through my luggage and broke open my bottle of India ink IN THE SUITCASE, I've decided to use other means for my lineart needs. My new Wacom Intuos3 6x8 looks prettier than a Planetarian artbook....well, almost. Nothing beats having more Reverie <3. In any case, I managed to grab a hold of the tablet + case for around $300, which is a pretty damn good deal.

I would feel guilty about spending this money, being in college with ~$40k/year tuition, but I also make around $21k/year in scholarships+job. Could be worse.

Also, I plan on finishing a few more CGs, and hopefully, I'll have some compilation CGs w/multiple characters by the end of the summer. However, it will take some time getting used to the tablet controls (I get jittery hands when I work with a tablet). I've already posted plenty of Rei, so I think that Abel needs some love as well.

I'm always up for collabs, although I will have a busy schedule over the summer.
