Total emptiness, no reference points, utter unbalance and phobia with vague outlines.
These were the first words that came to my mind after finishing this project.
Project is just a generalizing word without special meaning content. 14 works… (I don’t take into account Pangolin ‘cause it was made on the wave of the time before) 14 works… For me they are like 14 planes of my soul, my thoughts, my experience, my contact with the set of attributes surrounding me.
In the course of time one thought crystallized and took a clear shape in my mind. It is that what was done now is a mirror of what was done two years ago. Then all was destroyed. Of course, now shapes are different. But the matter is the same.
All that is basically significant for me splashed out in paper. What is interesting: I didn’t hesitate at all over a choice what to do. All was going on in a natural way and in a right order. On the whole any of the works gave any trouble in the making. It’s notable that twice - when I was trying to make a fictitious figure that I imagined on purpose - I met with failure. And two works went to the dustbin without seeing the light. But there was no regret about it. There was only understanding of the fact that I turned wrong at some point. And very quickly all was falling into place.
I won’t describe the sense of every work. It will make me too vulnerable. Those who need it will be able to read it themselves.
And the last thing. When I was working I was persecuted by the thought that after expressing this whole gamut of emotions in a laconic shape, the silence will come. I finished and realized that it didn’t. Total emptiness, no reference points, utter unbalance and phobia with vague outlinesÂ
P.S. One statement that I read in an article on the subject of folding get stuck in my mind: “Many origami designers sooner or later face with a question “So, what to fold?” Probably what I am doing is not origami for some people. But if an idea of a foolishness with silly eyes arrives to you, forget about paper. All that is forced is heartless, and what is heartlessÂ

Origami is an ancient art of paper folding coming from East. The roots of this art reach ancient China where the paper has been invented. The rules require folding without scissors and glue.

At the beginning origami models where used in religion and the art was available only to rich courtiers. Later it developed along with dissemination of the paper. After Second World War the art became widespread in America and Europe alike were it gained many followers.

Paper sculptures try to imitate objects existing in the real or fantasy world and the only limitations are artist's imagination and endurance of the paper. We can therefore admire large range of models from simple shapes to very complex three-dimensional forms.

Many people are wondering why serious people engage in such seemingly childish play as the origami. They could also ask why people admire beauty of nature or the piece of art emerging from a painter's brush. Origami moves receiver's senses just in the same way as painting or sculpture seen in a gallery. Moreover when we see how the model emerges from a piece of paper we can feel the pleasure of creating something special.

Origami gives us great experiences connected with creating, develops artistically and makes us more sensitive to beauty of the surrounding world. Equally it is not very demanding as everybody can develop this passion in his own pace. It's not very expensive for everybody can fold from even usual sheet of paper.

I decided to create a variation of Eric Joisel’s rooster (Sad duet). Though mine is already plucked… I beg of all French people not to be offended!..

Thanks again to all who have looked through my gallery, who is looking through it now, and who will do this in future.
Thank you for your comments, notes and faves.

I’ve made a small update to the gallery.
1: Photos with camcoder sign are photos of models that I am making for an animated cartoon.
I wanted to make an origami exhibition in my town and to present there the models of leading origami designers of the world. But as you know if one wants something, it does not always work. In return, I met a girl from Moscow who is going to make an animated cartoon where personages will be made in origami technique. So I decided to make the models of my favorite origami designers (and some of my workings also) for this cartoon. Hen and Lion are variations of Nicolas Terry models.
I hope that this project will turn out well.

2: Photos with a small house are photos of the works you have already seen, which were exposed in the streets of my town. This is the second small folly of this type. The first time I didn’t have the camera unfortunately. What for? I can’t sell my works as often as I would like to. And I don’t have too much friends. If I give them my origami as presents, soon they won’t have place in their houses. Seeing the works getting dusty is sad.
When exposing them in the streets together with friends-photographers, I live once again the moment of their birth and feel in full their dynamics. It is astonishing. It is like music of Banco de gaia.
