Well between harvesting Berries, kids summer vacation and the many forest fires not much photography going on my way. I do have a few images to share.

Been a while since I had the time and energy to work on my journal. I am not much of a blogger as I perfer reading. I have stopped here a few times but mostly I have been busy elsewhere. As it is today was the first day in three days I had a clear day with no smoky air.


Another reason I have been gone is quite frankly Legend od Zelda Twillight Princess on my Wii. Addicting and frustrating. Oh well at least I kicked my kids butts on the Wii tabletennis. Got my butt handed to me in most other games I play the kids in.

The wonders of Fall are around me now. I am spending more and more time outside harvesting natures bounty. Here is Alaska it is wild berry picking bear watching time. All around raspberries, blueberries, cranberry, crowberry and cloudberry patches. YUMMY oh course by bear watching I mean picking with your senses alert since we humans aren't the only ones harvesting the berries. I must also mention the great harvest being taken from us as we harvest despite the DEET. The Mosquitos seem to love this harvesting as well since most of the patches seem to have lots of hungry guardians you must ignore to get the sweets.

Not at home much but I will try to remember to take pictures between harvesting and eating the berries. Take care my friends.

I wonder should I post the pitiful air show photos I and the other half took? It really isn't what I myself considered an air show. Basically the base I live at heard the Thunderbirds were taking a rest break here so they rushed about and threw a pitiful air show. The day was overcast with frequent sprinkling. Nothing really big happened. I did snap a photo of an F-16 aggressor paint scheme since this base is the ARTIC red Flag of the Air Force. Not sure though Hubby did the Thunderbird shots but somehow changed my camera settings so they are all black and white.

Oh well on the plus side I got a few more boxes unpacked including my Anne McCaffrey hardbook Collection so I have winter dark entertainment!

I have posted a b-29 shot from the base. She ain't pretty and it is hard to get a good shot of the plane. Keep in mind this is the same type body that dropped the atomic bombs. This is a poor slowing being reclaimed plane. Very full of bulletholes from the local idiots who like to show their perfect aim.

Goodness guess I had more to say then normal. Oh well take care everyone let me know if B/W thunderbird shots interest you. Now I most return to killing the mosquitos who think I am so tasty!

I was just reminded that I haven't bothered to post my wry thoughts in a journal in quite some time.

Hmm let us see I last talked to any of you in May. Okay so the white stuff is finally gone but the 23 hour sun is a bit much for night loving me. There are Moose everywhere seems most are dangerous Cows with calves.]


In the more personal things, My critters(kids) are doing well. The oldest is morphing early into a smart mouth preteen. My daughter has decided to be a GIRLY girl over her former tomboyish ways. My youngest boy is doing well although He is learning to pronounce his words better. He couldn't hear the world clearly until recently so He has so much catch up to do.

I have added a new Cat to be the annoying companion to my grey Lady Mercury. We decided to carry on the name theme of Myths. So I will share a shot of Loki soon.

No real air show here and apparently due to the constant sun no fireworks shows. Oh well.

I will be posting a few pictures soon. I haven't been doing much photography at this time due to the film coating on my glasses bubbling up and making it a hassle to use them.

Before you scream that I have flooded you please keep in mind I still have the wonderful Multi-block cravings to post starting sometime next week. I am freezing but look what I went to the first day of!!! I watched the artists on live webcams as they worked on these wonderful pieces. I also managed to meet some of my new four footed neighbors on a trash run.. A cow moose and her two calves. needless to say my images were shot from the safety of the car and about one block away.

Ye Heavans!!
I absolutely hate being voiceless. I am having to live off Chicken Noodle soup since my throat is so irrated. First one sickness and just as I am kicking flu out of my body. I get a nice fresh condition to ground my physical form.

What truely sucks is this weekend is the big Anime Gathering here in UTAH. DANG it to HADES!!!! I hate this, I have been looking forward to this for 3 months. Now I will spend the weekend moping at home rather than spreading whatever is kicking my butt. Oh well Maybe I will watch anime at home and make the family serve me for once.

But I really wanted to go to this an now I can't. WAH!!!!!!!!!

Hello again,
Well as you can see I have began to explore Utah's natural beauty. So I will be adding a few images of the state park I went to this weekend. I got to enjoy the wonderous sunset over the Great Salt lake. I was surprized at the nature beauty around me. Cities are all around here but this island was almost free of manmade structures. Few buildings mostly mountains and prairie type landscapes. There were bison free ranging on parts of th island and I admit to being worried about upsetting. I am now eager to see the spring here and capture more of this area in bloom!

Matsuri! This is the word still ringing through my mind. What a wonderful colorful thing the festivals here in Japan are. Just had to go through my collection and find a suitable image to say Happy Birthday to one of my early DA watches and watchers.

For those who don't know much about me I collect anime and cels from the anime. I love owning a piece of the shows I love!

This is Kurama but it is a studio reproduction cel not one of those that actually was used to make the show.

I know you like Bishies and Kurama and Inu-yasha are my two best but Inu is too small for such a joyous celebration!

I didn't stay for the Karaoke part of the festival. But I did go to the Living Doll Part. Forgive the pictures but the Hubby took these due to the kids clinging to me. I had returned the day before from Okinawa. Who had the problem removed from his nostril and is doing fine now.

The local villagers have a parade to celebrate the start of Fall and the harvest. THe people dress themselves as Dolls. The peasant unable to afford the expensive toys of the Nobles used themselves as Dolls to adorn their Floats and celebrate.

At Lake Towada(near here) there will be festival called Kuni-zakai which the three bordering prefectures(counties to us Americans) will be a part of. This Festival litaerally means Land border festival and will feature the Nebuta floats from Aomori, Enburi dancers, Hanawa Bayashi floats and mucic from the Heian era. This is in addition to the giant (6foot high by 5 feet wide) Taiko drums. there will Laterns on 36 foot poles bon laterns, Basically this is a best of Festival where the three perfectures combine there festivals.

On Sunday however is the Air Show at the Air Base in Misawa City. Which we must attend as we are volunteering time at a booth. I will try to get picures of at least the airshow of the crowds. Of course we will be getting pictures of our kids taken since they are always crowd pleasures.

What a busy weekend this is going to be! Of course Monday is Labor day and there will be big parties all over the American homes throughout the town and base.

Give me a few recovery days and I will try to post stuff. Plus School starts for my oldest who will be entering Kindergarten. One down 2 to go, So forgive my lack of responses for at least a week.

Today is Tanabata festival in the small town I live in. What is the Tanabata Festival story?

The legend of the Tanabata tells of two stars: Vega the weaver Princess, who met and fell in Love with Altair, a cow herder. After the two got married, their honeymoon lasted so long the couple neglected their heavanly duties. The King of Stars became so angry that he banished the lovers to opposite ends of the Milky Way and allowed them to meet only once a year. This is the Tanabuta, also known as the Star Festival.

Tanabata is celebrated in Nihon by writing wishes and poems on colorful strips of paper called Tanzaku and hang them bamboo branches or poles. Which are set adrift in a river in order to send their wishes and hopes for Love to the Kami(gods).

Still wet out but I will hopefully go see what is at the clan memorial. Please look in my scrapbook for most of my aquarium shots. As you will notice my three kids often pop up in my pictures. They see the camera and into my view they must run. I know several of my shots have flash on them but in my defense the aquarium was very dim!

well went to Asamushi Aquarium today due to wet weather. Next week if the weather improves I will venture out to tonomi clan memorial village to seek more shots of the historical stuff around me. I will have to upload some of the pictures from the aquarium later after I look through the media and decide what is for posting and what to hide. I will continue to try to post a few pictures that might have some thing to interest you who visit/watch me as I find time to go out in the area surrounding Misawa.
