year 12 is annoying sometimes... and slow at others, got my mid-year report the other day (yes, we're past mid year already lol)... said average, except for English homework... which is writing in elaborate and overly flowery language to impress teachers and honestly I can't write bs like that... I found it hard enough to bs for last years art theory exams, let alone the english practice exam this year, and I generally manage to get something out under the pressure of that kind of thing...

yah, lol I wouldn't blame you if you just tuned out for that bit ^_^;

Art wise, I'm sitting in the middle of no-where, scribble in my mind is swirls on the paper... all lines and nothing in them, I have a few things I should upload here... when I find what I did with my scanner CD... gotta work hard for vis-com this term... 10 weeks left till it's due and I've barely even started.

I'll post some pics or something later (if I can find that stupid CD)

got a job interview on next monday evening (5pm) and well... you know I feel confident but then you always feel nervous at times like that... ah, hopefully all this stress gets my creative parts moving again.

1. I'm abnormally tall, for a person amongst tall people, I'm the tallest in my family, and the tallest in my year level. (by a few millimetres >_<

2. I know a lot about computers, and I'm often called to help troubleshoot various pieces of technology... it gets tiring.
3. I'm studying a TAFE course on computers as part of my year 12 course CISCO CCNA2 if you know what that means.
4. I'm not actually much for artistic things... I dabble, post a few pics on my wall... I actually prefer manga/anime and story aspects of the posters on my wall.
5. I have my own car already... but it's not yet running >_> it needs a few bits and pieces and a service before I can start driving it.
6. I'm a bit of a perfectionist at times, but then other times I'm so laid back that people become frustrated and annoyed with me...
7. I enjoy riding, blue skies in winter but not long walks along the beach (I'm scrabbling around for stuff now)

Anyway, beggining of the end, Last year of High school, onto TAFE/Uni...
Most of the first few weeks has been relatively boring, nothing in-particular happening. Partying is always fun though =3
(I feel like being a bit ambiguous here)
We had swimming carnival on monday, that was fun (particularly seeing as I was a house captain, running my ass off trying to make sure the year 7s get to/are at the marshaling point...

I won First Prize in the open Dive-bombing Comp >=3 and got an art teacher wet ^_^

due to the summer heat, the chlorine and a few other factors I've been feeling sick most of this afternoon... hopefully I'll feel okay tomorrow.

Tons of stuff to do, in particular I gotta finish the drawing of Avarius (Character for the Game of the gods story). It's sitting in my locker at school at the moment... I'll pick it up and maybe steal a light-box whilst I'm at it.

but this time I'm taking some time out to acknowledge (feature, please read) a few people who make my life around DA (and a part of my home life) interesting and enjoyable.

First I'd like to thank everyone who is currently watching me, It encourages me to keep up the random sketches ^_^

Secondly, I'd particularly like to thank

They've been the major contributors to what I do.
Lemme just go on a bit of a feature ^_^

Has Comment a few times, Particularly where I've gone a bit awry in my sketching. Her Dragon sketches are the ones that I particularly like.

Leafy Scales: [link] there is so much detail here it sends my head spinning. but at the same time inspires me to work harder and strive for better results from myself.

Lion Hybrid: [link] not a dragon, but with a lot of detail. Can't say much other than it looks awesome. ^_^

Silverpelt: [link] Silverpelt is one of Raven's RP charas. the story behind me meeting Raven is an old forum I stumbled across, where Raven and a few other people did roleplay/story writing. Silver pelt being one of the first of raven's characters I met... anyway, I meant to say in it's simplicity is something I really like.

I met Sirianna not that long after Raven, at the same forum if i remember correctly. Sirianna is a happy kind of person with a love of horses, he horse drawings inspired me to try my hand out with some success.
Through the Fire and Flames: [link] newest to oldest again ^_^ I saw the title in my deviations box this morning and went DRAGONFORCE! and what do you know? she was listening to it. ^_^ anyway, I like dragons and Sirianna has a style for water dragons and the like that I think suits her OC really well.

Marcus and Mara: [link] well, a kiss. whilst I don't enjoy watching Public displays of affection there is something in this piece I enjoy. Perhaps it's just the emotion i feel whilst looking at it. Nevertheless it is an excellent example of sirriana's work.

Race the clouds: [link] FINALLY a horse! well, I couldn't just ignore the other two, could I? Sirriana has a bit of everything when it comes to horses (photos, drawings etc.) so there's no real surprise as to why she's so good at drawing them. and that skill helps to inspire me as well.

Bad Grammar, at times, but excellent writing. As well as illustrations. I'm sure that if she put her mind to it, she could bring out children's books (and books for teenagers) by the baker's dozen. she comments and features, as well as inspires, In small amounts, but significantly helps nevertheless.
I can't exactly say why I chose the first piece, other than the fact that i like it ^_^;

first of all, tis the 15 of september, less than 5 days until my birthday (Saturday 20th) which is also the first day of my spring holidays (yes, it is spring down here in Australia).

Second is Manifest is on the second week of the holidays, (27th) I've paid and received confirmation, so I'm definitely going!

anyway, right now I'm frantically working hard to finish as much work as I can before the end of the term, not to mention the fact that my comp needs some repairs (my H key is missing, and it's driving me nuts...) I need to take some photos of my recent art work, it's all traditional media ^_^; (canvas and acrylic paints).

Finally I thought it'd be nice to host a competition of sorts, or rather a small challenge, with some Bragging Rights Rewards.

Of course, if we publicize it enough we may be able to have some prizes.

so, here's the plan:

1. Theme? seeing as the seasons depend on where you live, there's no point going for a spring theme, and to be honest christmas seems a little overdone... So I thought, Why not new years?
Yes, new years day/night shall be the theme.

2. The characters? well, I was thinking of a couple of my own characters, but then, I don't really flesh out their personalities for these events... so it doesn't work too well. so, instead I'll ask you to use your own original characters, (they can be fan based OCs)

3. the catch! (wait, what? there's a catch?)
yes, a sub theme that needs to be incorporated somehow. the sub theme is Forgotten. just be sure too at least comment on how it relates ^_^

**so, to get it all exact and in a nutshell:**
the competition is a piece of work in your chosen format (image, poetry or Prose) concerning either you or one of your own characters on new years day, incorporating the idea of something or someone forgotten.

and as a little extra, I'd like any pyrotechnics (fireworks) not to be part of the main focus. but of course, you don't have to do so.

If you do not have any characters and don't want to do it on yourself, I'll try and Flesh out a couple of characters for you to use.

just to explain: the previous journal was about microsoft and their ludicrous download installers... seriously, a check, then another check thing, then a installer file that STILL NEEDS TO DOWNLOAD THE FILES TO INSTALL! drives you nuts, especially when you live with other people who use the internet (meaning you have to speed limit most of your downloads).

anyway... Enough of the cause of my insanity...

Art wise!
I've been throwing out too much of my recent work as i just don't like it, seriously deformed things just don't work for me...
there's been one or two things that i've liked, so i'll upload them sometime, but otherwise, there's not all that much...

anyway, if it was earlier in the day i would post all the usual (not so usual?) stuff, fow, etc. etc.
but right now i need sleep and bed, so have a good day/night/week

Anyway, for those who don't know, Deb stands for Debutante Ball, and is kinda like the Prom or whatever you may call it where you live. Basically it's a School Formal, lot's of dancing, dresses and suits, three course meal, Manners (or the lack of manners being discussed).

All in all it was an awesome night. I got to dance with certain girls ^_^ and even the teachers embarrassed themselves by dancing.
There was much laughter and yelling (trying to sing louder than the band ^_^) I kinda wish i could've had some of the fancy drinks, but i'm kinda considered underage >_> not that it matters that much... i think i drank about 15 litres (big mistake) of soft-drink (fizzy-lemonade or whatever else it's called) and a couple litres lemon water.

today, the day after, i'm on my second cup of tea for the day after a sleep in, and late-ish lunch... Dinners probably in 4-5 hours from now, knowing my parents...

Got New Pants thursday afternoon, and a Satchel bag (finally) so i'm in a good mood. and of course Monday is a celebration of one year on Deviant Art, on which i'm gonna use to write a little resolution journal... and get back to that 100 themes thing...

ah, so much to do. Working on the colour version of Seth (should really rename him, as i modified his look after drawing that particular picture... ahwell, doesn't matter)

well life has been pretty ordinary, you know, just keeping afloat above all the stuff that I have to do...

i've done TONS of art, and need a lot of time to scan it all into my computer... particularly with Art, and drawing everyday in an A5 visual diary... still it is hard to do a drawing everyday... so i find that i'm taking days off to draw twice, or three times as much next time...

Math: Specialist: KILL ME NOW! i dunno why i took on this extremely hard maths, but the teacher is even worse, HE'S NOT F**K**G SERIOUS ENOUGH! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR ABOUT SOME RANDOM PEN THAT CAN WRITE A LINE A KILOMETER LONG!!
Religion and society: probably got the best teacher, knows what he's doing, involves everyone yadda yadda, boring subject but it's tolerable because of the teacher
ART: BEST F**K**G SUBJECT EVAR! lol, it is quite fun... and my homework is to draw at least once a day, doesn't matter how crappy it is, just draw. heck, it couyld be stick figures for all the teacher cares.
Studio: YAW-F**K***G-AWN it's too boring at the moment, here's hoping it picks up, else i have to take up some new subjects next year...

vet study: same as study, just extra periods for those who do VET (special course)

another anounncement, the results for the "Screenit" Competition that the group entered have come out, and the award lunch happened, we were lucky enough to get out fo school that day to be there.
aaannndd... well we were kinda dissapointed with second place, but for an Australia wide competition, it is quite an achievement. so in another way we are happy.

last but not least is an update on my life... it's kinda weird so don't be surprised if you don't get what I mean...

well, for starters I have "found" a girl, whom I like... well, found is not the right word, I've known her since one-quarter of the way through year 7, and it just seems to me that each time I see her, i like her more and more... it's weird though, i can call it love, and yet another side of me calls it a lust for companionship, it's not like i want to have sex with her, it's more like i want to be with her, and just talk about all the stupid things in life...
it's kinda weird... and i'm not sure i have explained it as well as i could...

but at the same time, at home, i feel like i'm turning into a time-bomb made of 3 personalities... i feel like theres the me, the "mask" made of the skin of the life i lived when i was younger (during lower-middle primary), and then the "me" to match the life i could live now, amongst some of the '

opular' people of the school, and then theres the insanity/rage "me" that at any one time could explode, causing damage similar to that of a large storm (twister or whatever it's called)... but at the same time as that the other two sides are ready to crack and attack anyone who irritates me... in fact i nearly did crack during specialist maths today, when the teacher was talking about that stupid pen...

i suppose in a way it's me, but i kinda feel worried about cracking, and doing something stupid... i nearly got in trouble for being 'disrespectful' last year, and honestly if that happens again, there's gonna be a great deal of damage to repair... it;s kinda a situation like the mood that I've picked, someone is gonna come along and POP no longer in control, and i'm scaring people...
not even sure if i've explained it properly...

I might start working with Terragen again sometime soon, I got some editing ideas from a friend...

anyway, I'm sick of all this expensive stuff that's being marketed, Daz 3d was free, until you try to get the models! it sucks that i have to pay $10-50 US to get new models to make decent images. Seriously.

Anyway, I've started working with blender (making a sword of all things) ^_^; and i'll be looking into the game-making part of blender soon enough...

Yeah, my computer froze up yesterday, the problem is that the same thing happened last year sometime, and I had to send my computer through a lot of irritating tech support sessions including 5 Re-Images, and a whole day run test. which, might i add, was useless as the comp was left to idle. most likely i will be out for a bit whilst my computer gets a new logic board or something.
that is if it stuffs up again.

anyway, life is ordinary, i have exams end of november, and essays in english, friends that have learned a bit about deviantart and a boring life of computer games, music, writing, reading, sleeping, eating, drinking, machinima making, walking and game making

my new project is a game, for which all artwork will be original, so i will be posting them up as i complete them.

'tis about time that i made a full journal with all the crud that i usually do ^_^

sorry, gotta get it out of my system...

the full story is i was minding my own business hanging out with friends and chatting (more like listening to WoW chat >_> ) and these bunch of year twelves run out of their common room and start acting like little kids and doing this thing called "dilly" at me (or on me, depends on how you see it...) and running back into the common room... what's worse is when i tell them to grow up, they dismiss it without a thought...

the cause? well... let's see... it's near the end of school for them, they're brainless, they pretty much own the common room, simply because they're the only year level that's allowed to use it during lunch and recess... it's pretty much a matter of "we're higher than you so we can treat you like dog sh*t."

if i had anything sharp and pointy on me i probably would've lost control and stabbed them or something... and used provocation as a defense if it made it to court... makes me madder than a bull being teased...

well... that's it for my rant today... perhaps there will be more news later on in the week, perhaps not...

gonna see if i can upload a sketch now, and then go read my book till well after midnight

Game on for rising designers.

Do you have the prototype for the next Lara Croft? the hunt is on for australia's hottest new digital game and the brains behind it.

project joystick - a $1 million design your-own video game competition - was launched today.

Big Pond and the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) are conducting the search and will transform the winning into an online and mobile game.

"if you have a great game idea, even if it is just a concept, this is your opportunity to see it become a reality" said BigPond media director Bill Burton.

ACMI director Tony Sweeney said anyone could design a game

"it doesn't have to be complicated - in fact, some of the greatest games like tetris and pacman were inspired by events in the everyday world."

Games developer Tom Crago said the ultimate game would instantly engage the player.

"they have to be having fun within 30 seconds. the addictive element is also important it has to be something that they can come back to." Crago said.

wannabe designers must think of a name for their game, decide on a genre, give out a 50 word synopsis and nut out other details such as how many players and difficulty levels.

the winner will recieve a prize package of top-spec online games equipment.

entries can be lodged at [link] and the competition closes on august 22.

if you know me, you'll know that i have been working for ages on a game for PC, and have been stumped with the maths for AGES, so when i found this article i thought i could work on a storyline for the game... NOPE, i haven't got a clue about what to write about... i was thinking perhaps the background story for one of my Roleplay/story charachters for forums but, i'm not sure how i would go...
perhaps if i had a few more ideas... anyone got one i can borrow?

i think i did well, particularly with the german exam, finished really early and then drew stuff... my worst would probably be maths... I had a mental blank... anyway, today was also the first day of census 10 (where the year 10s at my school go into the city every day for a week). it only started on a frisay because we have a long weekend (queens birthday) so now i gotta find some more stuff to do. gotta talk to my friend about hosting his comics somewhere on the net..

hopefully i will upload the beach scape terragen images.

and i got that bus/train/lift/boat legs feeling, i'm always moving in some direction or another... IT DRIVES ME NUTS... ahwell, that's what you got for standing up in the bus, train and tram all the day.

no word on when the forums will be up, i got on offer for moderator, and i need to work out a way to advertise it to the greater audience. and work out a reasonable set of rules.

i feel sick because of inertia, i feel embarresed because of a lack of a mobile phone (of my own), and i feel like i need to get back into the relationship game...

and i got a haircut yesterday (thursday) afternoon...

gotta get a picture of myself for my DeviantArt Profile.

anyway, i kinda gave up with studying for the mid-year exams.
so, i've decided to go start up a forum within the next few weeks and to return to posting on all my usual forum haunts

all i need for the new forum is a name and a few Trustable moderators/Administrators.

i've re-installed GMax, and i'm hoping to get a copy of photoshop (probably an old one...)

and i guess ill just see what happens.
