I think because I'm not investing as much time as I used to into art - be it fan art or any other kind of art - that I've pretty much moved over to LJ. I make more regular updates over there and post the few odd scraps that I draw there too.

This means I have my first full weekend off in a month. It has been so nice to sleep until 9:30 on a Saturday rather than getting up at 6:30 to get ready to go to school to help out. I loved going to the festivals I just wish they had been a bit more spaced out. I have been plagued with headaches this week because the long term gradual sleeping time reduction has been getting to me.

I finally finished the Ouran High School Host Club manga. I wasn't that far off from owning all the books in English back home so I didn't feel too bad about reading the last few chapters online. My students and the teachers have been taking them xD Or I've given them as gifts. I sat in on the art club on Monday and joined in with the speed sketching practise. But the girls kinda wanted the sketches I did of them (we all took turns at being the model) so I gave them to them so I lost all the drawings I did on that day. So I plugged my graphic tablet in this evening to get on with colouring Sarah-Niou's silly Akutsu pic as I thought it would be one of the last pictures I coloured with my tablet. Plugged it in, checked the pen had a fresh battery in and gave the pen a wiggle to make sure the cursor moved with the pen.

Oh god Japan is really screwing with my brain. I really thought by now I would have some idea of whats happening. But no. Inazuma Eleven is so much fun. It's an anime based on a game about football.

Think TeniPuri does football and you've got a good grasp of the show. Except it's even more filled with crack (such as summoning PENGUINS) and the characters look especially young when compared to the strangely tall TeniPuri boys.

There have been several instances where I have actually had to pause the video so that I won't miss anything in my manic laughing. It's also nice to see such a variety of character models and eye shapes.

So it's 2011 and I haven't felt like drawing much already. All the random ideas I've had just don't want to appear on paper which is a bit annoying. I'm gonna try and make myself finish the colouring of Krystal and Cub this week since I found a spare nib for my tablet and so have no excuse anymore.

I've thrown myself into studying my Japanese and well I think I may be going insane at times. Kanji confuses me with the two readings and stroke order I can only remember for some. Well Christmas is over now (sort of - I've still got to have Christmas with my brother) and it was lots of fun and once again I totally fail at remembering to take photographs xD

On Christmas day it was quite calm for once since it was just me, my mum and my step-dad. We had a lovely dinner and far too much pudding, I ate pretty much a whole apple crumble by myself which was for 4 people, and I got a big ol' bruise on my foot after tripping over the kitten and slamming the back door on my foot. So today has been rather fun is some really odd way. I went to go and finish my Christmas shopping and managed to slip and skid around on the ice today as I walked to the town centre. I continued to slip around on the ice as I shopped which led to a load of giggling by me. When I then went to get on the bus to come home I got one of those looks from the driver and just set me off.

I have been ill with a bad cold since Wednesday. I probably made things worse by attending two interviews and walking from the town centre to the train station and then around London to get to one of the interviews. And then walking up to the shops to get more tissues. I've been getting worse over the weekend and really hoped I'd be better today.

But alas, I'm still sitting in bed with a two boxes of tissues, a mug of tea and a tub of moisturiser for my poor nose.

It seems to have stopped snowing here for now at least. But very much looks like there's a ton of snow everywhere else in the country, annoyingly the friend I was supposed to visit this weekend is pretty much snowed in - the trains from London to her don't seem to be running - so I'm debating even trying to get to her tomorrow. If I do get there I may get stuck there.

The world has clearly gone mad.

It's snowing! Which is rare where I live, especially before December has even started. We had snow in January before, and it lasted maybe a week. It also cripples the transport around the country usually. Not so much this time which is really really odd.

The only recommendation the Job Centre could give me with regards to finding temp work was "take your degree off your cv" which I find rather incredible. Apparently it's not so much that I'm over qualified but that people see "engineering" and think that I can't handle interacting with people.

Eeeeeeee I got a provisional offer of employment to work in Japan from April 2011. You have no idea how happy this has made me today. It has re-instated my self-worth as an employable human being. Now I just have to hope that the provisional offer becomes a proper offer as soon as possible - which really depends on me sending off all my documents.

Life has kinda stalled for me. I'm waiting to hear if I'm given a placement with Interac for Japan, waiting to find out if my university can give me my degree certificate before graduation (because it's not till December and I will need it for my visa if I am going to go to Japan) and have no job. So.

The last two weeks have been... fun

I crashed my car, totalling it.
I quit one job to start another and had to leave the new job.
And I'm terrified about my interview for Japan on Monday.

With stress levels feeling like they are somewhat through the roof my abilty to draw has apparently gone kaput. There are things I want to be drawing don't get me wrong and stuff that I want to work on. Like Butterfly. Oh man I haven't thought about that for months. I'm so sorry to the people who read it...

Anyway. I most definately have a cold now as my head is all bunged up and I feel partly deaf.

In a few days I'm leaving my pants job at the airport and starting a new one as a poker dealer up in one of the casino's in London. I've never gambled myself but you know, it's a job with regular hours even if it's night work.

After what feels like nearly a month without the internet properly I finally have it again. The new line has been installed and I've set up the new router and then had to play with it to get the signal out to the cabin.

So I officially leave for my holiday to Greece tomorrow even though we don't fly out till Sunday morning. I'm away for just over a week and doubt I'll get much drawing done as we're gonna be on a boat and I'd be terrified of loosing paper in the sea.

EXPO weekend is now over.

Saturday was epic. Bought random stuff, was Niou, found another Niou cosplayer so there were two Niou's running around for a while. Other random tenipuri people were found and much fun was had. Sort of turned into Yagyuu at the end.

Sunday was alot more sedated with tenipuri people lacking. Bought more random stuff and switched from a Marui who failed at blowing bubbles to a Sanada with a headache xD

The weekend was really fun and a good break from revision as well as me finally getting out the house for a while.

One exam is now done and dusted. It wasn't the best experience in the world since that particular lecturer likes to give us a question based on something we haven't learnt in class. So it's pretty much impossible to get more than 80% on his exam. Which is really annoying. But I took a good stab at the other questions and am hopeful I've got somewhere between 55-75% which is above the pass mark of 40%. How I love uni XD

Week one of revision is over.

The dent in my finger from writing so much nearly became permanent but I held it off by taking today off from revision~ I finally started making the Davide plushie and I'll try and finish him in the next few evenings so I can make the Sanada hand puppet atleast before the EXPO. I very much want to be a Niou with a Sanada hand puppet :mwahaha:

And so it begins. Revision has finally been allowed to start.
And I keep thinking of things I want to draw :cries:
I will find the time to draw them. I swear I will. I came up with an idea for another contest entry... despite the fact that I haven't drawn the first idea I had XD

Anyway, exams have dates now~

-19th May - Engineering Management
-26th May - Introduction to Orbital Mechanics
-2nd June - Aerodynamics of Wings and Bodies
-4th June - Airworthiness and Maintenance

Mum and Phil are home~! I picked them up from the airport last night! My life has gone back to somewhat calm again now that I don't have a whole mess of animals to took after and I'm finally back in my cabin after 3 weeks away from it.

I'm still ill tho, Mum's gone to get me some more Lemsip to combat the deadly headaches and blocked nose.

Anyway, since coming back out to my cabin I needed to re-organise my manga collection to put new books in the right places. I need another bookcase but don't have space for one. Anyway, since I'm bored I'll list my manga collection.

I'd totally forgotten about St. George's Day until I saw a message of FB about it by one of my friends. I'd intended to do a picture involving some of my boys but ahhhh it might just have to be a sketch if I can find the energy to do one quickly today.

So today is one of those unoffical holidays (that really should be a National holiday, I mean, St. George's cross is on our damned flag) and so I intend very much intend to rest.

I have some good news in terms of my uni work. Technically now, all my coursework is in.
