Nanoha stars Nanoha Takamachi, a fairly normal third grader who luckily (or maybe unluckily) rescues a magical boy named Yuuno from a artifact called a Jewel Seed. Yuuno gives her a magical gem called 'Raging Heart' which Nanoha discovers helps her tap into her magical potential, which she uses to capture the rampaging Jewel Seed.

So far, it sounds like your typical magical girl show... until Fate Testarossa arrives. A sad eyed blonde haired girl she also wants the Jewel Seeds for her own reasons and fights Nanoha. Nanoha, on the other hand, is fascinated by Fate and wants to know why she's so sad. From her introduction the focus of the series becomes the rivalry between Nanoha and Fate, as well as the mystery of Fate's background. No spoilers but Nanoha eventually wins Fate over and ultimately saves Fate's life.

Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha A's takes the existing subtext and ramps it up even more, with long scenes of Fate and Nanoha staring into each others eyes, spending time together and generally being very cutely romantic. Amusingly the 'afterward' set six years later features Yuuno confessing to a mutual friend he's made no progress getting Nanoha's attention. Gee, hinting much? *lol*

Both series are available through Geneon/Funimation and I'd recommend them both. ^__^

The main yuri in the series comes from the relationship between Konoka Kanoe and Setsuna Skurazaki. Konoka is the daughter of a important family, and was childhood friends with Setsuna who returns to her life as a bodyguard. However SEtsuna has it BAD for Konoka, and even confesses to Negi that she loves her... The Konoka/Setsuna relationship is also featured heavily in both anime series.

Kujibiki Unballance started out as a 'joke' anime featured in Genshiken, then evolved into it's own series. It's a bit of a cliche ridden series (mecha, ninjas, magical girl, so on and so forth) but it has some cannon yuri and makes for a fun view.

The main character is Kyon, a relatively ordinary guy who falls into Haruhi's orbit. He meets several eccentric characters in Haruhi's club and learns she might be god, but is unaware of it. However, if she becomes sufficiently bored or upset, bad things happen...

There's only potential yuri in the series. Haruhi admits she'd date a woman if she was a time traveller, alien, esper or something similar, but it's hard to say if she's serious. She also shows a remarkable willingness to glomp and fondle the eye candy of her club, Mikuru.

Overall, I liked the series a lot, but it's not a must see for yuri fans.
