If you take you picture and shrink it down in size can you still tell easily what is going on? How about when you submit art to Deviant, can you tell what your image is when it is shrunk down to thumbnail size? This is why painters take steps back from their work to admire a painting. Up close can look very different than far away, and yet both views should be appealing. ]]></media:text>

        <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ This is an easy and short tip this Tuesday. For those of you using a wacom tablet make sure to set your tablet up to make it easy on you.<br /><br />1. Set button on the stylus pen to the (alt) key. This way you can pick colors easily off of your canvass as you work.<br /><br />2. Set one of your buttons on the wacom to the following keys (control) (alt) and (z) in photoshop this will give you a number of undos every time you hit the button.<br /><br />3.         <media:text type="html"><![CDATA[ So when I work in Photoshop I have several windows open of the same image but at different zooms. Whatever I paint in one window will appear in all the other windows. Instead of zooming in and out and driving myself crazy I just look at the other windows to see how the work is progressing. It's also important to work over the entire picture and not in just one little area. Keep moving around the image working over the entire piece. The best thing you can do to instantly see the problem is hold your drawing up to a mirror. If you are working on the computer just flip it in Photoshop. We tend to draw things more slanted than we mean to and often have more weight on one side of our drawing than the other.<br /><br />Still not happy with your illustration? Take a break from it. That's right, take the work of artists you admire and images that you love and tape them into a sketchbook so you can easily reference it later on. I also save images from the internet that I love in a special folder. When I have a bunch of them I print them off on a full sheet of sticker paper. Cut them out and stick them in your sketchbook. Refer to your book from time to time to study techniques used and a great way to get inspiration. ]]></media:text>
