so i've been working on a lot of art to put
into the artbook for this winter. it's so
hard not to update these pieces. i really
want to share them with you all. i feel
that because i know that this book will be
available to the public - i'm spending more
time on each piece. i've learned that while
yes, spending two to three or even more days
on a certain piece is exhausting- but the
results are more than worth it.

as you all have probably noticed- there's
been little to no updates on my end. (aw
who am i kidding, a room meme doesn't count)

so leo and i just moved into our
new apartment about two months ago,
and we invited our friend so he'd
have a place to live and we needed
someone to share the rent.

'da fuck.

people are stupid. especially roomates
that don't pay for groceries, bills,
barely make rent, work 5 hours a week
and spend their money on everything but
helping out the apartment.

so we kicked him out. he's got till
friday to gtfo. sucks, because this
whole week i've been at my mum's.
not that i hate being with my mum-
it's just i want my place back.

so needless to say artwork has been
lacking and so has the story. due to
stress, constantly working, and no
laptop. awesomeness.

OH! on a good note. i'll be @ ConnectiCON
this year! my boss is letting me work our
vendor booth with my friend gabe. so look
for me if you're going! i'll probably be
the only asuka working lol.

only one final left on the 19th. and we sign
the lease for the apartment three days later.

i'm sorry i've been so absent- and there's been
no activity on my end. i've been working so much
just to save up for the security deposit along with
first months rent, and finishing school- it's taken
it's toll. but i wanted to say thank you for all
the kind comments you guys have given me, i just wish
i had the time to return every single one of them.

i just want all of you to know that i appreciate
everything, from the bottom of my heart. <3

as you all might have read in a previous journal, the
comic won't be out until the end of 2010. i've taken
this oppertunity/decision to improve my skills and by
the end of this year, i hope to be releasing an art
book, possibly just for paradise. or perhaps, a bunch
of my work in general. i'll put up a poll and let you
guys decide.

i've got the day off today so i'm working on my
promotional insert for

's comic
debut at anime boston! if you guys are going, pay her
some love and drop by her table. she's an amazing

on another note. the manga is moving very slowly. i'm
sad to report. i actually took the time to sit and really
sort everything out. and there is so much concept art
that needs to be done before i can really put this manga
together. i'm taking the time to make sure all the characters
work together- i've already had a few that look out of place
and needed redesigning. all the landscapes need to be drawn,
along with settings, like houses and the different rooms.
along with maps of the world and the relation of all the islands.

it's going to take a long time, but i would rather have this all
final then start the manga and change things half way through.
plus the story still needs a lot of work.

:sigh: so with that said- there should be a few updates today.
i've just been so busy with work. TTwTT i need to make money.

worse. so for that, i'm thankful.

school has been slightly complicated- trying
to create a manga on top of being a full time
student is a trying task. something about having
four classes is the only way you're eligible to
not have to pay out the ass for health care. that
makes no sense to me. so my mum told me at the last
minute. "HAY GUESS WHAT?! YOU NEED FOUR CLASSES! I
TOTALLY F'ED UP AND LIED!!!" thank you mum.
btw...all classes are closed. so now i'm stuck with
three classes - one of which takes WAY to much effort
to maintain all for the insurance i'm not getting.
follow?

so i'm dropping it. seriously. and btw, the state of
connecticut passed a bill overriding health insurance
stating that they will cover any NON full time student
until 25. thank you CT. my hat is off to you.

so because of taking a bullshit class and having it
eat up my time, i've fallen behind schedule. i've also
been extremely tired from my new job which eats up every
ounce of spare time i have outside of school. except for
saturday and sunday. but now that i'm dropping the class
on monday, i'll have more free time at my hands.

i've finally moved in with leo. and we just had our
six month anniversary yesterday. i couldn't be happier.
he is that man, the one whom i will spend the rest of my
life with nagging over what color to paint the bathroom
and whether or not a great dane is a suitable substite
for a pony. it's so unbelievable to think that my other
half really exists. that there really is a soul mate out
there for each and every one of us.

*ahem* sorry...sappiness aside. the whole falling behind
schedule thing....yeah...about that....

half the character sketches still aren't complete. and i
haven't even finished chapter one. damn i am so fucked.
but that's okay. i realized that i allotted myself some
extra time, by creating too many chapters. so instead of
having to write and draw out 8....i really only need about
six. which frees up a little over two months. so...i guess
i'm really not behind? but i really do need to work
harder...which is why i'm going to stop typing and go do
some work. hopefully i'll be able to upload later on today
or tonight.

dri- you never called. lame. i miss you. <3 hope everything
is alright on your end lovey.

i'm getting old lol. anyways, as the title says, i
am making progress. two character sheets have been
completed. at this point, i'm realizing these will
eventually have to be colored. and i have copic
markers. but with the time constraints, and the
amount of character layouts there are. i really don't
have the patience for inking and then erasing and then
coloring lol. so they'll be photoshoped. it's easier
to keep track of color that way.
