Dear Diary...

Well finally getting out and about again, it's nice to use the camera again and I feel that I have a bit more inspiration now.

Spent last weekend at the Otley Show, had front row for a Bird's of Prey show (exiting eh?). It was actually a brilliant show, giant vultures and bald eagles flying within feet of your head! Other than that it was pretty muddy but there was plenty of cold beer to get through the day, jousting and plenty of cute animals all over the place.

Hi there,

I know it's been a while, I've been stuck in a rut, I blame it on winter.
Now the weather is getting better I will be venturing out of my hobbit hole again into the sunshine so expect more photography soon!

Patch the cat has settled in very well!! She is bonkers and definitely not the quiet and reserved cat that they told us about when we first enquired!!! She is sooo much happier and full of life than we expected. And cute as sin!!!

Feeling a little more rejuvinated in my photography now...got some ideas floating round my head and just need the time to set them up and shoot them. I've also been booked for a wedding...in AUGUST!! the power of shelf is spreading!!

The wedding is a H U G E deal - 160 people and most of them army boys!! CrAzY!!!

I am still here...just

Thank You very much to everyone who wished me happy birthday, it could have been a better day, but i won't go into that...lets just say I was ill...loved ones were ill, and it all happened on my birthday!! I'm gonna be like the queen this year and have a second birthday later on.

Now me and my photography have been having some disagreements of late which has resulted in the lack of posting, I'm in the process of buying an old russian film camera and some expired film to get into the lomo, been searching for the right camera for about 4 months, might get a tlr yet, who knows, just gotta find the one that gets me in the mood.

I might also get one of these [link] cos they look so damn cute!!!

Anyway i need some help...to kick start me into my photography...and to try and get myself better, send me some suggestions to what i should take pictures of, or just a word to interpret myself. I will respond to every suggestion - even if i takes me forever!!!

~Jilstr has a diverse gallery with many different styles included. She has a great series including Mushrooms, and the use of a cold colour scheme only helps to enhance the other worldly feeling that surrounds these little aliens. She has a nice grasp of colour and this means that her gallery has a nice collection of both bright and subtle tones, and a careful eye means that she finds those things that some people may overlook.

Alive or Just Breathing

It's been a while...

Been busy these last few weeks, now it's the bank holiday weekend and it had to cut up half of my tree that fell off thursday night!!

Can you believe that, I don't know if it's down to too much rain but half of my big old pine tree ripped off in the middle of the night, my dad had to come round with a chainsaw and cut it up but there was still loads left over to cut up and put in the bin...it's been a long time since i've had blisters on my hand from manual work!! Oh the joys of a desk job I guess.

I'm getting a lap top in a few weeks time to help with my photo editing as I'm about to destroy my computer because it runs so bloody slow.

My photography has kinda dried up these last few weeks, lack of inspiration, and the dread of trying to edit a photo has made me not want to take shots. Also the weather has been so crap there has been nowhere to go that doesn't end up in you getting soaked.

Oh well, moan over now i guess...

Enjoy yourselves if your not working tommorrow, think of me won't you!!

Back from New York, had a f*cking great time, and thanks to all the drugs i was on, the ear seems to have settled down.

Just trying to sort out new CSS so bear with me thanks

Having a really tough time editing my photos as my computer seems to want to take forever to do anything!! Anyone know if memory bought off of ebay is any good/worth the money? I've seen some 2gb mem for about $60/Â£30 and I don't know whether its worth the risk? Any suggestions?

Also can anyone recommend a decent home photo printer that prints up to a4? not looking to spend too much, just want something for home use and family shots etc.

I've had enough, not only have i had an ear infection since f*cking april!! i now have a f*cking cold. I go to new york on tuesday!!! i'm so f*cking mad!!

I'm back to the doctor on monday to see why none of the drugs are working, and in the mean time i am just editing past photos and posting so sorry for any spammage but a poorly girl has to do something.

Had a great day out last week with Lucy (*Arsenic-Spider) at Temple Newsham, and you were right Lu!! Fell asleep after my *cigarette* as soon as I got home!!

Just sat through a brilliant thunder storm too!! had the patio door open trying to get some decent shots, if any have worked i'll post them up later.

Still going with the 100 photo challenge...i'm on Number...2! yeah so not done that much but bleah who cares!

Did a work shoot for the work social night the other night. got paid and everything for it! I think work are finally taking me serious about this photography thing now!

Well it's time for my meds so if i don't speak to you all for a week i'm either dead or in New York!!!

I've set up a photoblog on wordpress which i do intend to update with the 100 photo challenge which i am restarting...so please vist me there too... My New Photoblog!!

Don't know if any of you are interested but you can get an almost free photobook courtesy of Myphotobook.co.uk . If you go for the 12.85 pocket book with 24 pages and use voucher code DP1285ME you only have to pay postage (which was about Â£5), not too sure if it applies to any other country but you might as well give it a go. Mine is in the post now so I'll give you a report once i have recieved it.

Got a sigma 28-80 macro lens on its way (at last), and i just need to pick up some stuff for the New York holiday in a couple of weeks, thank god its pay day huh??

The Eagle Has Landed!!

It came!!

I was off work Wednesday because I have an evil ear infection again. Sat watching Jeremy Kyle (as you do when your ill), and heard a van pull up. Just as a pure wishfull thinking i said to Rob 'that'll be the camera then' and it was!!!

Devine intervention I think!!

Only problem was the Sandisk 8gb Extreme 3 CF card was faulty. So i could look, and take demo shots and that was it. Lets say the manual took a hammering though.

What an upgrade from the Nikon D40. No more plastic body, no more dodgy battery problems!!
It's a heavy camera so at least i know I can knock any muggers out in New York!! 3 1/2 weeks and counting until i go!!

Back to work yesterday (still with a shitty ear ) and i took the memory card back to jessops who didn't even look at my invoice before they swapped the mem card. Todays my first full day of playing...so lets hope the garden animals behave as they should and let me get some shots of them!!

Well thats it for now, guess i should do some house work (booo).

_{Went to London to watch the wrestling...and me and rob were on TV kinda...you can see us in the crowd behind JR and Jerry Lawler on Monday night Raw if you squint a little!!

Had a great time in London the weather was cool, but the arena meanies took my camera off of me so i couldn't take any pictures at Raw... apparently a 55-200 lens classes me as a professional photographer...if i'd have known that i'd have been calling myself a professional a long time ago!!

Smackdown was great too but i think i was sat behind Andre The Giant's long lost son, so when he stood up the ring vanished...oh well...what else is the Titantron For eh?

And ECW...watching Tazz dance...priceless!!!

London Aquarium...what a waste of money, anyone else been? Anyone thought it was good? I much preferred Blackpool Sealife Center... However i did love the mini jellyfish.

Came home with a crappy ear though...dunno whats wrong with it but it hurts, i'll tell you that much.

Well back to work on monday...

So i'm off for some more painkillers!!!

Pain is....

When i got my lip pierced last year i never thought it would end like this.

-Wednesday i slipped and fell in Leeds and my bottom row of teeth hit the base of my ring in my mouth.
Wednesday night it got sore.
-Thursday it got fat and some stuff started to come out of it. I went to the drop in doctors center in the city. The nurse looked and said "oh no probs it just looks sore". That didn't sound right but she's a professional right??
-Friday it was a waaaay lot worse so i went to the docs "oh sure its infected if it gets worse take it out".
-Monday...Worse real worse. blood guts you name it. So i tried to take it out and it wouldn't budge.

Only option left after about an hour of trying to get it out...hospital. So i imagined that it would be simply cut it off check the wound and off i go home. How wrong can a girl be.
It was swollen well beyond the laws of medical science could have ever imagined. So what did the sweet angel of a nurse suggest? A local anesthetic into the lip.
"Sure no probs i don't mind injections"
"it'll sting" she said...
"no worries" i said!!!

Then what took place was the most painful thing i have ever imagined (just think of a needle going into the middle of the most tender swollen and scarred part of what felt like the softest tender flesh on your body and then injecting a fluid in that feels like molten lava!!!) and believe me i have done many painful and stupid things in my life. She wiggled the ring and pulled it but would it budge...nuh ahh.

Oh guess what...time for another injection...this time in the front of the lip. By this time i was in such a state that i think i nearly broke rob's hand.

Another half hour of pulling grinding and crying and nearly screaming the building and finally it was cut out. I nearly passed out, bled all over my teeth and lips etc and nearly incapacitated the student nurse's hand by squeezing so hard.

I now know what true pain is...obviously there are alot of people who deal with alot worse every day, but i surpassed what i thought was my threshold and lost my ring in the process.

Took a walk round my home town today, took shots through the day and then waited for night fall and did some night shots of the architecture

Well...the era of PS2 is over in the Phillips - Murphy household!!!
We sat debating for a long time...PS3,Xbox360? PS3, Xbox360? and then we thought F*ck it, cash in the ps2 and all the games and stick it on a 360...time for a change i guess.

And the verdict is.... We LOVE it!!! Completed Lara Croft in a couple of days...she's been my tutorial to the controller!

Photography wise little slow at the moment, the weather is crap and i have been so busy with work that i get home and don't want to move!!!

I want to say a total thankyou to all you out there still watching me, commenting on my stuff and favouriting my works...
and to for including Eating my Words.. in a recent news article...check it out here along with all the other amazing artists included. I'll do another feature soon of more of your works!!

A View from the Zoo...

Chester Zoo is a fun place...they have animals and stuff.
Seriously though, it was a great day, good weather and only a screaming baby to put up with for three hours on the way home!!!

Finally

Well it's finally happened, after a few years of watching but not posting, i've finally bought a subscription. Only fair seeing as i actually post stuff now.

I managed to learn some css too...well i say learn, i actually used 's journal spreadsheet generator... even i understood what i had to do!!! Check it our here [link]

I managed to pick up some macro lenses today too, x1, x2, x4 and x10, and a wireless remote, so i apologise in advance for all the posts that you'll all be getting.

Still working on the 100 photo challenge, just waiting for the weather to pick up so i can get back out into the sunshine, should be off to Chester Zoo once it stops raining...off to pester the animals to get some good pictures that i hope i can use for it.

I appreciate all of you who have bothered to comment and favourite what i have produced so far, i'm on a steep learning curve so hopefully it can only get better.
