I've gotten a ton of questions about my job/the industry and requests for school interviews as of late, and I'm starting to realize that I might not have the time to answer all of this stuff while simultaneously maintaining my sanity.  I haven't figured out exactly what I'm going to do, but suffice to say I'm going to try to gather up the answers I have written into a new FAQ, see if I can answer most people's general questions about the industry, concept art, breaking in, etc.

I love Kai, but I also hate him because he does these in goache, and that just seems like goddamn magic to me.  My memories of using gouache in school are strained and frustrated and often chalky, so seeing a fellow artist take to a medium so naturally is a serious kick in the pants, inspiration-wise.

Racinet's plates were a primary source of inspiration: http://www.costumes.org/HISTORY/100pages/books/racinet/orient.htm , along with paging through sites about Persian miniature painting and middle eastern clothing terminology.  Searching for this sort of information becomes a lot easier when you have some vague idea of what you're looking for.

Guess who finally has a print shop!  I know it can be a chore to fuss around with e-mail when placing a prints order, so I set up a Big Cartel store.  Right now it just has some of the basic prints people are interested in (including all of the Princesses) and a simple option to order any art that isn't listed in the shop.
