1 December 2009
Over the past three days I have dedicated a few hours to sorting through old photos. I have set aside photos that seem like good stock candidates and you will definitely be seeing new photos soon! I may upload a few tonight. I don't want to overwhelm people watching the deviations! So far, most of the photos are of horses, but there are some dogs and scenery too.

Also, I continue to be amazed by the wonderful art that has been created that makes use of my stock. If you have the time, go take a look at my favourites. They're all in there. You may find something beautiful that you've never seen before!

main account

28 August 2009
Hey guys. Sorry for the lack of updates! I have a question for you. I will eventually get all of my old photos that are fit for use uploaded, but instead of just going in chronological order, I could upload batches that you would find useful right now. Here are a few. Tell me if there's anything that you'd really like to see uploaded now.

- Russia (Vladivostok; mostly photos of the beach. Moscow; some skylines, Red Square, Sokolniki Park etc.)
- Pensacola, Florida (a few skylines, a public beach)
- Orange Beach, Alabama (around the beach-front condos, dolphins in the distance, lots of beach birds, jellyfish, grabs, snails)
- Pumpkin Patch (pumpkins obviously, some tepees, fields)
- Snow at the barn (fields, maybe some horses, with what little snow we get in AL)
- Nature macros (moss, grass, clover, flowers, maybe some bugs etc)
- Downtown (Prattville AL: [link] There should be some photos from downtown on the site, to give you an idea of what it looks like.)

That's the most significantly different batches I could do. If no one has a burning desire to see one or two of these right now, I'll continue making my way through the archives and you'll get mostly the horses and dogs with these stuck in there.

main account

News Flash
02.11.2009 -- Hey guys. Don't you hate when you have big plans, and life has other ideas? I had meant to get a lot of images uploaded over the holidays, but sadly that just didn't work out. I really hope to get photos uploaded soon so that I can finally clean out my computer. Aaah, too many huge photos! Anyway. Still amazed by what you're all coming up with. I hope you've had great starts to the new year and that you continue to create.

In slightly more important news, I've had trouble logging into accounts recently, saying I have the wrong password. Crazy! It's a problem I'm working on solving but until then, please be patient with me if I'm slow in replying, and if you ever get messages from me that sound suspicious, it may not be me at all, so be wary. (I didn't fall prey to all of the recent phishing, f.y.i., so it's something else giving me these issues.)

Ta for now! -C.B.

main account

Hey guys. I'm planning on uploading a batch of stuff this weekend, so watch out. I hate overwhelming your inboxes. ): But I suck at moderation.

On to my question: would any of you be at all interested in purchasing packages from me? I've been musing over ways to make money and I've come up with a few things, though I haven't determined prices.

- 10 megapixel (fullsize) stock photos -- smaller versions could still be uploaded for free

- Image packs -- multiple angles and poses not available in the gallery

- Pre-cut packs -- various items cut out and saved as either .xcf or .png files

My horses have to eat, otherwise, they will wither away and I will be very sad and there will be no new stock of them. Have I sent you on a guilt-trip yet? Hahah, I don't want people to feel obligated to buy stuff, but it would be a serious help to me. If any of you are interested, please let me know!

As long as I've had access to cameras, I've been taking pictures. Until just the past two years or so, they were mostly snapshots really. Even now that I am armed with more photography knowledge, I continue to take photos of my pets and the places I've been. They're good memories, but have little artistic merit on their own.

I used to do a lot of photo manipulation, though I've stopped now. Frankly, there can never be enough stock photos out there, so I decided in January 2008 to offer my "junk photos" to you for use. Since then, I've seen some absolutely beautiful pieces. The transformations floored me.

I hope you continue to find Silent's Stock useful, and keep churning out these lovely works.

-C.B.
