I's been FOREVA since I posted....I've been trying SO HARD to get my jewelry going and get myself out there that my DA account has been sadly neglected.

I COULD say that I'll do better, but I can't promise that and so I won't. All I can do is try my best to make DA a part of my regular posting. It isn't fair to all of you to be so ignored by me.

Anyway...so what's been going on with me? Aside from the usual 5-9 work grind, I've been making jewelry pieces like crazy. I'm in the process of making a light box because my sweet spot for shooting photographs has been turning into the actual Showroom it was always meant to be. So where I had my table set up is now this store-like 4 foot section filled with bathroom stuff. I is sad...*sniff* It doesn't just suck for my jewelry...it also sucks for all the product photos I take for work. For some reason that ONE particular spot just had AWESOME natural light. Ah well...I'll have to find another sweet spot for the work stuff, but I can at least try making something at home...then I don't have to drag all my jewelry to work either!

I've even made progress on that commission of mine...

I seriously have to stop reworking areas though or I'll never finish and the commissioner will hire a hitman...

For the second year, I've participated in a Holiday Sales event on Etsy. It's REALLY neat to be a part of such a huge thing...we've got almost 1500 fans on our Facebook Fan Page!

The sale ends tomorrow so if you're still looking for gifts here's my shop!

I've sold 9 pieces so far and I'm thrilled!

I'm offering 10-30% on all items listed in the SALES Selections section in shop. Everything's already been reduced with the percentages indicted so you don't have to worry about refunds or anything. Everyone who purchases gets a ballot for a special thank you gift...one for each purchase!

I know...my life has been inundated with beads! I love it though, so who am I to complain...

My girls are all due for vet visits and I'm having a coat made for me. I also need new winter boots or I'll be walking in 5 feet of snow with summer-time ballet slippers...*lol* Wish me luck finding something to fit over these enormous calfs of mine...*whimper* Aside form THOSE expenses, I also need to get stuff for my mom for X-mas...gladly, I've finished her ring...I'll have to post a shot...it's lovely...

I'll do my bets to keep up with you all and I hope you haven't all disappeared from my lack of posting!

It's been a while since I've written and you might actually be wondering where I've gone off to.

Well, July 1rst my apartment got flooded after sudden torrential rain. Basically, the city water pipes and the sewers overflowed.

As a result, I was living in caca-water and so I took action and by July 4th, I had myself, my girls and my furniture out of the living space. At the time, I had intended to wait until the landlord was going to clean the space and seeing as I was told the cleaning procedure expected to be used, I cleared the space to make it easier.

Well, after a week, I learned that my landlord had no intention of completing the cleaning procedure that was explained to me when I contacted the cleaning company (I'm the one who found teh company and passed the name along to my landlord as well as the info on the procedure). He basically had no qualms about having me live in shit infested floorboards and walls.

So I took action and did everything I could to start proceedings to take him to court. That failed. The City Inspector that was supposed to help me showed up with no equipment and basically just said that it LOOKED livable...:/

That was the last straw seeing as a private inspector would have cost me about 3K which i just don't have...count the time it woudl take to actually take them to court and the fees involved and it was just too much. So July 18th, I moved all my stuff to storage and started looking for a new place to live.

I've found a new apartment, but I won't be in it until mid-September seeing as the people are still living there and only leaving end of August. Meanwhile, I'm on my brother's and step-father's couch with my girls in their apartment.

I have very little space and not much privacy and so I closed up shop on Etsy and I haven't really had much opportunity to do anything creative. I miss DA and I miss my shop.

All I've got is my work computer to draw on and so I try my best to spend at least 2 of my lunches coloring. I often get interrupted though...

I really can't wait to have MY space again, though I very much appreciate what my family has done for me in such a trying time. It's so hard when you feel so displaced.

So that's my life in a hand-basket right now...please bare with me and I hope I'll be able to get back into the swing of things in a couple of months!

Let's start with me losing my voice due to a FABULOUS Girl's Night filled with laughter and each of us talking over the other and a small cold...

I sound like the Wicked Witch of the West...*LOL*

Aside from that, I recently sold two beautiful necklaces...

One is my Contest piece, Sun Shower, which won it's category...yay! I actually keep forgetting to send off the color palette for a stamp I'll be getting in regards to that...

The second piece will be uploaded soon, so keep an eye out for it. The earrings are still available for sale. They are really lovely too!

So what have I been up to lately?

Hope all is well with you...

I am writing this journal to help a friend who's got one hell of a special project going. As many know, a few weeks ago, Victoria, Australia went through the worst Bush Fire they've ever had. MANY people lost their lives and many animals were killed and hurt. =guava's plan is to collect donations for the SPCA in Victoria to help care for those animals that made it but were so badly injured they need help.

She's offering the most ADORABLE little thank you drawings to go with Donations of 20$AUS (about 13$US) or more.

Now, she's doing this in between her work hours and so it may take some time to get the little drawing done, but I HIGHLY suggest you pop on over to her journal HERE to find out the details and see if you can also help.

Tonight was one of my monthly Girl's Night Outs with a fantastic group of ladies...

We went out tonight and got jazzed up and we celebrated my birthday as well as my friend Sandra's birthday seeing as we're both January Babies...

THEY GOT ME A CAMERA! As well as AWESOME shots of me opening my gift...*lol* I wasn't even expecting ANY gift...I was so surprised I yelled out 'OH MY GOD!' loud enough to get the waiters concerned and everyone around looking at me funny...*lol*

I know the gals will be posting my reaction up on Facebook...so if you have a Facebook account, you'll be able to see it when I link to it later...

I've been needing to get a camera for more than half a year seeing as I've been stuck using the work camera...which the boss isn't liking too much. Now I can take my shots at home whenever it's needed. it should make things go MUCH smoother for posting up new jewelry pieces...XD

I'll also be able to take more pics of my girls and maybe even do better makeup shots of myself...

Either way, I had an absolute BLAST tonight and I can't believe how lucky I am to have such amazing friends...

I've created accounts specific to Gifted Designs on Etsy, Flickr, Facebook and Twitter.

Well, one of the deviants I watch, the AWESOMELY talented *kry1, referred me to another vendor site called Artfire. Seeing as I'm willing to have two venues to sell my goods, I chose to join...especially seeing as they are currently offering an amazing promotional deal which is limited to only a certain number of accounts.

I have yet to actually load my goods into my account there seeing as I can only shoot my jewelry at work, which starts tomorrow again for me, but as of next week, I should have at least 10 items posted there...

What I learned through :devkyr1: is that Artfire has connections with Google such as Google Alerts and Google Analytic, which will not only tell you who's coming to your shop and from where, but it'll help your goods get better results in search engines. She done searches and her Artfire account comes up before her Etsy account. They also have a lot of interaction through their forums, which is what I love so much about Etsy...so I'm glad to know Artfire is doing that too!

Both sites have different ways of charging you for their services. Etsy has a .20$ listing/relisting fee and a percentage of the sale while Artfire has a flat rate monthly fee. Currently, the deal I mentioned that is so great is that your account with Artfire will only cost you 7$US a month rather than their typical 24$US a month. There are no listing fees and no sale fees. You can also pay directly through Paypal rather than using a Credit Card. What's even better is if I have 10 people join through my referral link who purchase verified acocunts, I get to have the account FREE for life. Free is always good!

YOU can get a free account for referrals too!

So if you're selling handcrafted goods, or plan to sell handcrafted goods online, or know someone who is wanted to start such a type of business, I would be thrilled if you tried Artfire right along with me by clicking on this referral link. If you browse Artfire and choose to join, be sure to come back to my journal and click the link so you can be counted as one of my referrals...

The account type you need to purchase is a Verified Account. Free accounts don't count towards the referral program.

There are less than 3500 accounts left and they are going pretty quickly seeing as when I joined, there were 4500!

It's not because I've fallen out of love with DA...I don't think that could ever happen! I've just been going around like mad trying to promote my jewelry, shooting my jewelry, making my jewelry, etc. Yes, I'm surrounded by jewelry things EVERYWHERE!...and I'm SO HAPPY!...

I really do love it!

2- I became a member of the FABULOUS EtsyQ Street Team: [link] I'm so flattered that I was accepted and I had my first chat with them. It was brief but fun and I was nervous for NOTHING...

My French needs some serious improving though!

3- I have about 4 different pieces of jewelry in progress and I'm not progressing! I need to get a move on!

4- I bought colored paper and brought some props to work. I intend on retaking ALL my pictures for my items! I know, I'm nuts! Thank GOD I don't have THAT many!

5- I need to clean my house...badly.

6- I need to buy cat food. My girls were giving me the evil eye this morning! It's not MY fault that Jessie ate what you two left behind!

7- I need to set a goal and make a goal poster. I think it'll help envision what needs envisioning and get me on the right track to start my business RIGHT...

I also need to go and try to register my business name!

8- I have to finish those commissions!

9- I need to join Flickr, Google Groups and the Unique Women in Business yahoo group!

So that's just a few things that are running around in ma brain right now...O_o

On to what I DID do this weekend...LOL

I went to hang out with my wonderful mommy...

She's awesome...Hung out with my sister too...

They brought me to a new bead store in Mascouche. It's quite reasonably priced and I like the fact that it's a bead bar type deal. You don't HAVE to buy a whole string of beads...only what you need.

What I DID notice, which actually had me quite surprised and a little annoyed, is that acrylic beads are as expensive, if not MORE expensive than the semi-precious and precious stones I've been buying on Etsy!

I think that's horrible! I can get a whole string of amethysts on Etsy for 4.00$, But to buy a large focal bead in plastic costs me 2.00$? My amethysts were about 0.13$ a bead...I bought TINY acrylic ones for earrings and they were 0.40$ a bead. That just makes no sense to me. Unfortunately, I'm not really finding suppliers on Etsy for just regular beads. There are plenty of suppliers for vintage and buttons, crystals, glass and stones and spacers though.

The whole reason I was interested in purchasing what I see as 'cheaper' beads in the first place was to offer a lower price point to my potential customers. When I calculate everything it almost comes to the same thing! The only supplies that actually ARE cheaper are what I string the beads on and other findings. At least THOSE aren't more expensive than real silver!

So, in the end, my 'cheaper' items, aren't really that much cheaper...

Especially if I work on them for a long time seeing as labor is included in the final cost. I AM getting faster as I go, but still....

All in all, it was a rather disappointing thing to discover because I feel it limits what I CAN create at a lower price point. I feel I've started branding myself with rather signature style pieces and, though I understand that I will be including some simpler work, I don't want to be forced to only make simple little pendants for those who might not have as much loose change about. I don't feel it's fair to those customers to offer something that seemingly didn't take as much work...

I've just been given a lovely little gift by =rasput
It's my new avatar...

Go and tell him how pretty it is!

I am now aware that there was a WHOLE LOTTA drama associated with this new avatar trend. In fact, Rasput is the one who made sure I was aware. I am not one to throw a gift in the face of the one who gives, though. I think it was sweet that he took the time to do this for me. Would I have accepted the initial offer had I known before hand? No. However, this avatar was offered to me for fun and in a spirit of caring and so I take it happily in the spirit it was given. I would feel really bad to not accept after he put in the effort and I feel bad for those who might be hurt by yet one more person seemingly being supportive when that was never the case.

I guess, like a naive little girl, I just want everyone to stop fighting, kiss and make-up.

Alas, because of that, the new one will have to wait til next Sunday...it would be unfair to feature a new set of people for less time. That said, the old feature will also be taken down for the same reason.

The reason I forgot? I was sick and trying to relieve the monotony of being sick with jewelry creations...

I ended up making 4 different pieces! Well, one is still waiting for it's toggle clasp, but the rest are done and I just posted them...

I have included a question for you on the Charmony set and I'd really appreciate your opinions!

I also worked on my commissions, so I really kept myself busy!

As of now, I feel a whole heap better...which makes me wonder if my friend Val was right and it was just a sinusitis rather than a cold. Colds tend to stick around for more than just two days with me...O_o

I am now off to bed to get some more much needed rest to be SURE I don't actually, in the end, have a cold...XD

Bare with the craptastic image from my craptastic webcam...-_-;;;

So the one at the bottom is my Kaleeka, The one WAYYYY at the top, as far away as she could get from Kalee is Jessica, and the furball curled up just in front of Jessica is August.

What makes this awwwww worthy is that all three of them NEVER get on the bed together unless I'm in there with them. Jessica is afraid of Kalee like there's no tomorrow so she won't go near her...yes, that's considered near her. You should see the hissies she pulls if Kalee just walks BY her...*lol* It's CATWARS...except Kalee is just sitting there looking confused most times while Jessica bats at her futilely and spits enough to put out a fire...O_o August will only really swipe at Kalee if she touches her somehow...like face to face, sort of thing. She has no qualms about lying down next to Kalee as long as their butts are facing each other...XD

So anyway, all three of them were so asleep that they were all snoring...it was SO DAMNED CUTE!

I just wish I would have had a better camera to capture the moment because this is only the second or third time they all snuggle together...*squeeing all over her house*

Ok...so stay tuned for my next word feature...I haven't decided on the word yet, but I gotta do it before midnight tonight or I'll be behind schedule!

Ohhh! Before I forget, I just put up a blog for all my jewelry. I'll still be putting the finished products up here, of course, but I'm hoping to be able to do some WIP and the like on the blog, as well as offer sales and contests and showcase other people's lovely pieces...I'm very excited!

Firstly, it would be of my 12 Zodiac Senshi. Because of that, I wouldn't be able to sell it through DA or any other site really, because it's fan art. Correct me if I'm wrong on that though!

What I wanted to do was a series of long cards that were riveted together. You could either leave all twelve together and just lay them like bookmarks on a table and tear off each month as it passed, or you could remove the rivet and pin them up as artwork one after another on the wall. Just like you would put up a series of framed artwork together.

Of course, there's a certain expense to doing that. It would definitely be an unusual die-cut lot and printing size and I would want to try and get a stiff enough type of paper so they wouldn't flop around in the wind the way calender paper does. You'd still need to be able to write on them if you wanted though and so I think the paper would need to be matte.

Another idea is to do a B&W version with my non-anime style pieces...I just don't know if I have enough B&W work!

Anyway, tell me what you think of this and if it's a viable option. If I get something like 10-20 or so people interested, then I think I may do it. Seeing as the drawings are already done, I don't think it would take TOO much time to put together!

Hi guys,

I'd like to know if any of you have ever used Open Canvas before?

I and the lovely *LadyHellFyre were playing around in OC. She could see whatever I was doing without a problem, but I couldn't see what SHE was doing. We were able to chat though.

I had her host connection and we were on the same port as well as on the same canvas size.

Is there something I'm missing? I didn't have a name pop up in the chat window or anything? Does she need my connection info?

Thanks for whoever may be able to help us. We'd really like to be able to do something together!

I"M SO FUCKING UPSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was working on one of my commissions and the fucking thing exploded on me...the file now say 0kb. This is the THIRD fucking time this happens to me. TWICE on =Nadda's drawing...apart from the two corrupted files...and now once on ~kitrazzle's drawing. WTFUCKKKKKKKKKK! And everything was going so smoothly!

I don't understand what I am doing wrong!

So now I'm stuck working with this--->

Notice how the left side is considerably more advanced than the right? I'm being forced to freaking go back to an earlier file. Thank GOD I have a habit of saving numerous files and taking screen caps now and again! I can't even begin to explain how incredibly demoralizing it is to have to redo things that were looking fabulous....

OHSHIT! I just realized I may have a more updated version at work! GOD, (I don't care which one!) help me! PRAY WITH ME PEOPLE! Because if that's the case, I might only have to redo the feathers as well as restart the bangs instead of the WHOLE headpiece plus most of the hair rolls PLUS what I had just finished that didn't get saved.

I'm sitting here screaming at the top of my lungs and crying....Seriously, these ladies have waited SO DAMNED LONG. I can't stand it...especially seeing as both pieces are so freaking nice.

My jewelry creations have been going well and I sold my first piece. Aquavita was purchased and the same client commissioned another piece form me. I also have another jewelry commission...I am almost finished one of my commissions and then I'll be driving myself to finish the other. My clients DESERVE to have their pieces BEFORE the end of the year, damn-it!

I'm so proud of our Canadian Equestrian Team and their Silver medal showing...

I've been following the sport of Show Jumping since 1982 and I've never been able to see Olympic Show Jumping because the main Canadian channels never showed more than the finals.

I got to see EVERYTHING this time and it was an amazing experience...

I sat there, bawling my eyes out when Eric Lamaze posted his first clear and my coworkers were alarmed when I kept yelling out in joy and crying...I couldn't even tell them why I was so choked up...*lol*

Seeing Ian Miller finally achieve his Olympic dream after the 9th go was bittersweet. His look of joy was wonderful to watch, but sadly, his wife had just passed away and so she wasn't there to experience the moment with him...well, not physically anyway. As he said, he has an angel sitting with him...and I'm sure he did...

So Individual competitions still have to take place. Eric is sitting tied for 2nd and Ian is tied for 8th place. I think they will do fantastically well and I can't wait for Thursday morning so I can see it!

Congratulations to the USA on their Team Gold, they left the rails up where we let one fall and it was an exciting jump off...XD

Norway also deserved their Bronze, they weren't even slated for a metal at all...and yet, there they are. They jumped so well! It just attests to what it takes to place highest in the world in the Olympics, you just never know what will happen!

I hope those of you who watch the Olympics are enjoying the experience as much as I!

So I am back from Seminar...and HOLY CRAP IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!! I had SO much fun!

I also loved being on stage so much that I will be doing everything I can to be sure I'm on there NEXT year...X3 I'm SUCH a ham!

My bear's name is ToBee...

The name came to me in March at Career Conference (another MK event) when the bear was being introduced to us all. I was rummaging around in my purse looking for a pen to write down any info I might need to know where to go to submit my name when I looked up. On the HUGE screen was the bear, with a quote form Mary Kay Ash. I don't recall the exact quote, but it went along the lines of this: 'It's up to you to be what you want to be.' The quote, needless to say, hit me very very powerfully. I put my pen down, because I no longer needed it...*lol* Me being me, I then went about finding different names of spelling Toby and I further thought of the Bumble Bee, which is a VERY strong symbol in MK. We actually can earn pins and rings in the shape of bumble bees...they are gorgeous! Anyway, aerodynamically, because the bumble bee has a huge body in comparison to it's wing size, it shouldn't be able to fly...but it doesn't know that, so it flies anyway. Just like we can all choose to just continue doing what we do because none of us can predict at what level we can reach in our personal potentials...

And so Toby became ToBee...as a reminder to all of us that it's up to us to fly too.

I got to tell everyone the reason behind ToBee's name on stage when I received him...

It was a great feeling ans through out Seminar, people recognized me, stopped me to congratulate and hug me and told me that they loved the name and had gone to get a bear for themselves. Seeing as the bear is being sold for the MKACF, that made me really, really proud and happy...

So I had a fantastic weekend and I got to meet a ton of people I haven't seen since I was a baby at my family reunion...

I also got to got for a 3 hour cruising tour in the 1000 Islands and got to go to Upper Canada Village, which I've never been to.

The bets part is that I got to spend some time with my mom...we only get to see each other about once every two months or so. She lives about 2-3 hours away depending on if I catch the bus non time or not...

We stayed at this GORGEOUS bed & breakfast while in Gananoque...beautifully restored century home...and the breakfast was reallly good.

My girls were really happy to see me when I got home...

I was happy to see them too...*lol*

Yesterday, I had my first eye doctor appointment in 6 years. I was really nervous because the doc I was seeing wasn't my Ophthalmologist who had been taking care of me since I was 11months old. Unfortunately, he's in semi-retirement and not taking his adult patients any longer...

So I had to find someone else. He at least told me I could see an Optometrist.

Anyway, I had a TON of fun...

I learned how to take off and put on contacts. I've never been allowed to have contacts and I cannot even come close to explaining the overwhelming feeling of looking at someone and SEEING them without wearing glasses. I was so emotional I cried. I know, I'm silly that way. I just kept thinking ' Is THIS what it's like to have normal vision???' In the end, I will still have my glasses, but I'll FINALLY have contacts for going out and for when I do my Mary Kay Classes...

Speaking of Mary Kay, this weekend is Seminar Weekend...

I will be going off to Mississauga, Ontario for our HUGE get together. I got a call on Wednesday telling that I had won this years naming of the bear contest. I'm SO honored they chose my name! Mary Kay sells a Teddy Bear for the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation. Proceeds go towards the Look Good Feel Better program and to women's shelters through out Canada. There's a different bear every year and the company puts forth a little contest to name them.

This year, they chose my name...

When I come back, I'll take a shot of me and the bear and I'll tell you all the name and the meaning behind it...

So I shall be off to Seminar and I get to be on stage to receive my bear...I'm so excited!

I had such an AMAZING WEEKEND! WOOOT!

First weekend where I really, really felt it was summer...

I PLAYED...it's been so long since I've really felt playful and without a care in the world...it's a really nice feeling...

& her BF Jon,

are awesome and we had so much fun together...

We swam, we played Guitar hero til it hurt, we watched anime, we BBQed, we went out for a really nice breakfast and just hung out and relaxed.

We kept saying it, and it's really true, we need to get together more often...

None of us play enough.

The anime I watched with Dee after everyone else had gone is called Vampire Knight. I loved it so much I started reading the manga...

It's beautifully animated, there are plot twists everywhere and the characters are just a pleasure to watch and figure out. There's going to be the second season coming in October and I can't wait to see the rest. Meanwhile, I'll read the manga, which admittedly, goes MUCH deeper into the story...

It is even more beautifully done than the anime. The anime stayed true to the drawing style of the manga, but there's just SO MUCH MORE detail in the manga...

I love detail!

When I got home, I watched the recap of SO You Think You Can Dance?, seeing as I missed the cuts. I was sad to see Comfort and Thane go, but it's getting to the point where it's only people I really like left, so the rest of the season is going to be painful. I also watched America's Best Dance Crew. I wasn't disappointed in the judges choice for the cut. I dunno, but the crews, though good, just aren't as good as for the first season. I am growing fond of So Real and Fannypack though...

Acidd is also growing on me...

I don't write nearly enough in this thing. Maybe I should remedy that and have weekly captions of 'A Day in the Life of Sha'...maybe it'll help me to deal with my new situation. I am happy right now and I feel like a weight's been lifted....but at the same time, being single feels weird. More than likely becuase I've never truly been single.

Seriously, my last one was on Valentine's Day!

I dunno, I guess I don't feel like I have anything interesting to say...^_^; I always find it more interesting to just pop over onto other people's pages and make comments there, I suppose.

Well, the only interesting happenings right now is that I have started making jewelry. I have started with simple beads, but I'd like to move on eventually to more high end items like real silver and semi-precious stones...maybe even lampwork beads or artist crafted pendants. Perhaps even learn to make my own...

I have discovered that tehre is actually a really good Jewelry School in Montreal. I could have actually done a DEC (a three-year technical program) in Joaillerie. Alas, i don't have the time to be able to do yet another DEc, but they DO have adult ed sessions that I would be interested in taking. I would cost me 3500$+ for those though and so I won't be able to do that until I am financially solvent. So I have at least 2.5 years to go. I don't know why, but I have this burning interest in Jewelry and I just think I could be successful at designing them and finding pieces by other artists as well to use in designs.

Anyway, I have many, many dreams and ambitions...it's all about time and being able to do them though. And sometimes, dreaming is nice, but you have to settle on SOMETHING...O_o

If you guys watch/know of talented jewelry designers, link me to them, I'd love to see their work. The pieces don't need to be finished pieces...it could just be single bead works, or ceramic or glass pendants...

I watch a number of talented people like that and I'd love to find more on DA...

For those of you who love Valentine's and celebrate it, I'd like to wish you much love and happiness..

Well, for those who don't, the same applies *lol*

I'm actually trying to become a responsible adult...I know, it's scary as all hell. But I figured, at 31 years old, I can't really continue to act like I'm 20. That's not to say that I want to wipe out my happy-go-lucky nature. I just want to be able to bring down my debts and lead a healthy life.

I've had so many ideas and options pop in my head that I honestly don't know what to do or where to go. Some ideas are clearer, some of them are the kind of ideas I wish I would have come across much earlier in my life. I've actually decided to try some of them and see where it takes me. Even changing my job has crossed my mind. Going back to school to study graphic art, web design and even cosmetics and make-up application has also come about. Of course, I'd need to take night classes. I need to work full time no matter what I choose to do!

On a completely unrelated note, my poor cat, Kaleeka, is in desperate need of a shave....except I can't do it until Spring...she's 13 years old and I'm afraid that the traveling from the groomer's and back would cause her to become ill...seeing as I would be on public transport. I don't even know when the knots started on her. I felt them completely by chance seeing as I don't pet her back and hips anymore (she's arthritic). The only reason you see them now is because I tried to cut them and comb them out with scissors...needless to say, I failed miserably. She IS due for her bi-yearly bath in the spring, so it will be a good time for her to have it done. I'm guessing I will be having to groom her far more often seeing as she can't seem to properly groom herself anymore. Jessica and August are still perfectly limber, but I think I should start grooming them more often, as well. Hopefully, this will never happen to my baby again...

Also, thanks to everyone who has watched me or faved my artwork. I had over 3K messages since last year that I just didn't have the time to answer to. I try my best to answer comments, at the very least. Hopefully, I will be able to post more original art this year. I'm still working on those two commissions, but they should be both nearing their ends soon. I need to draw more! Even if it's just black and white drawings! In fact, after those two are finally done, I might offer quicker drawings and pencil shaded busts, just so I can keep my traditional motor running...

Who knows what will happen in the year to come, but it will be great!

So I was reading *zambi's journal and what she wrote moved me so much and made me feel so happy, I cried. I know, I'm pathetic...*lol* I repeated the blubber-fest when I read *setsuna22's 20 and so that convinced me that I needed to do this.

20 things that absolutely make me happy and that I'm totally grateful for:

1- My boyfriend
I know, everyone seems to be saying so...

But I am...because despite the fact that we are so different, in other ways we are so the same and no matter what happens, we always seem to be able to get through it together.

2- My mother
I am privileged to have the most amazing mom on the face of this planet. I wouldn't be who and what I am without her continuous and enthusiastic support. She knows me inside and out and I know, no matter what happens in my life, she will be there for me...even when she leaves her physical body, she will still be there beside me, ever supportive...

3- My girls
My three cats, Kaleeka, Jessica and August are wonderful. They are my babies! My life would be so empty without them! A day doesn't go by without them doing something completely hilarious and ridiculous that makes me just want to squish them...

Or do something so infuriating that I want to strangle them! Only to be petting them and goobering at them 10 minutes later....^_^;

4- My friends
I'm very lucky. I have nothing in my life but best friends. People who I know I can count on for whatever reason. Kris, Shell, Terrie, Sal, Denise, Sandra, Stephanie, Nicole, Matt, Shari, Lou, Mary-Eve....you guys are all so very important to my well being. Just thinking about you can turn my day around...

5- My ability to draw
I thank the powers that be everyday that I have been blessed with such a rare and unique talent. It's a special thing to be able to see something in my head and make it come to life on paper. It's also remarkable to be able to help others' visions materialize. To be able to share this gift is so very precious to me!

6- My apartment
I'm thankful that I have a roof over my head and the means to pay for it all by myself. Not everyone has that and to have that token of independence is wonderful.

7- My work
I may not save lives and I may not be doing important research, but I help make things that beautify people's lives and make them happy and, in my view, that is just as important...

I'm so grateful to be working at all seeing as graphic designers aren't really in demand where I live (as far as I've been able to tell anyway!)

8- SHOES!
I easily have 20 pairs of shoes...and I will more than likely be adding to that collection! Can you believe I don't have a single pair of simple black heels??? Sacrilegious! I'm also looking for a good pair of reds...*growl* I just love what heels do for me when I put them on. I feel sexy, and beautiful, elegant and sophisticated. I am SO HAPPY that I have virtually no allergies and that I am willing to try pretty much anything! I LOVE food. Especially when it's well prepared. Mmmmmm...I could so go for a blue top sirloin steak with a portobello mushroom and red wine sauce right now...with a baked potato with the works and a nice glass of Black Cherry wine....oh heaven!

It's been a while, yet again, since I've written anything in here.

I decided that, seeing as this is the only way I can help right now, that I would plug someone I consider not only an amazing artist, but also a friend. Knowing how much I feel for my girls, I would hate to have to go through this and so here goes!

I'm sure many of you have admired *setsuna22's artwork. Well, here's you chance to own some! She will be doing $25 partial body commissions. The reason she's doing this is because her beautiful corgi, Korben accidentally swallowed some advil and was rushed to the vet's in order to save him. Just wanting to say hi to everyone and to thank everyone for everything they do for me...even if they don't know they are doing it! *lol*

Don't mind me, I've been emotional the last couple of weeks for absolutely no reason...

I'm still adding up the scores for the Swim Suit portion of the G3 contest....I can appreciate my gal *kamikazekayti's dedication because DAMN does it take time...and she did 53 of them...I'm only adding up 25! Anyway...it's a slow process because of work and commission, but I should have ti done sometimes next week!

It was my boyfriend and I's anniversary at the beginning of October and he has surprised me with a weekend getaway...^_^ I have NO CLUE where we're going...he's keeping that secret, but he's told me I will love it...and so I more than likely will. I'm rather excited about it...

So I won't be around this weekend...not that I've ever really around on weekends *lol*

For those asking if everything if fine now...it pretty much is...I still have issues, but they are mainly with what's happening between my two ears. I'm dealing with those on my own nicely. Also, my kitchen has indeed been 'fixed'. I have new super intendants and they rock my socks! They've already replaced the faucet in the kitchen and they've gotten approval for paint and primer for my cabinet doors. They are also going to replace and repair the light fixture in my entry and the broken plug in my room...

Me is happppy!

Anyway...I hope the Canadians out there had a happy turkey-day!

So it's been a while since I updated this thing....an understatement...*lol*

I've been updating the G3 journal so much, i guess I figured it was enough! Not that I talk much about myself on that journal or anything...*grin*

So what's up with me? Nothing much. I've been in the hospital on and off for the last month due to some complications to a procedure I went though. And it isn't over. I was back in yesterday and I'll be back in next week. Meanwhile, I get to have the cramps from hell...Joy!

I've been so drugged up, I have been having difficulty with doing anything that requires a lot of thinking. Thankfully, work is slow for me right now, though it will pick up in about a week with market starting this weekend. More packaging for me! I've also been neglecting my poor contestants over at G3...I just can't concentrate on adding up all those numbers...

Thankfully, I'm blessed with AMAZING Team Members....

has been a life savers seeing as she's been doing all the work! I'm hoping to be able to get back into the contest soon. I'm hoping next week will be the last time I go to the hospital concerning this problem...

In other news, a month and a half ago, my ceiling in my kitchen collapsed...O_o The pipes from the apartment upstairs leaked so bad they caused the gyprock to molder and tear away. it took my super intendant 5 days to come and see the problem and about 2 WEEKS to even get the plumber in to fix the leaking pipes. meanwhile, a SECOND pipe burst! I had something akin to piss falling all over my kitchen...yummmmmmyyyy....not.

So the super FINALLY comes and puts up new gyprock....problem is, he didn't replace the whole sheet! He refused to do so, even though i asked him to because of all the mold on the inside of the remaining sheets. So god knows if that mold will seep through the new sheet. He only finished installing the bloody sheet about 5 days ago! he also replaced my floor...the linoleum was all unstack and moldy form the water damage. he installed some lovely new ceramic tiles...so I'm at least happy about that. Thing is, I've had my fridge and stove in my living room for a week and a half...I wasn't supposed to go on the floor. What do i know about ceramic tiles. I had no idea that they only needed to be dried for a day....my super never came to tell me I could go in my kitchen! And my fridge and stove are STILL in the bloody living room! I asked him Monday to put them back. I haven't been able to eat a decent meal in weeks...I've been stuck ordering out if I wanted real meat. I'm sorry, but sandwiches just don't cut it. And with me not being able to go into my kitchen, I wasn't even able to get utensils!

I'm actually calling the rental board Monday to find out if I can get reimbursed for the cash i was forced to spend to feed myself during this fiasco. I swear, all the problems could have been fixed in a week. I pay my rent on time all the time, there are people who break their contracts all the time in this building. I've been here for three years. You'd think they would treat me better than they are. As a result, I'm not paying my August rent until they finish up in my apartment. I'm fed up of being hosed.

And right now, I have enough of being in constant pain without having to deal with this apartment shit...*sigh*

Aside from that, i was able to do the line art on my Inner Senshi and to progress on one of my commissions. I suppose that's a good thing. I've also had my friends and family standing behind me to help me with my little issues. It's nice to have awesome friends and family...

HAPPY B-DAY TO ME, HAPPY B-DAY TO ME, HAPPY B-DAY, HAPPY B-DAY, HAPPY B-DAY TO MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I can't believe I've just hit the big 3-0!

Today has been a fabulous day. not because I got presents galore, which I didn't, but because people remembered and took time to email me, send me MSN messages and teased me...I like being teased...^_^

My best-friend has been teasing me about my present since X-mas and he won't be forking it over any time soon and so that will be going on for a while *lol*...at least he can't use the excuse that because he's the only one giving me a gift, he has to keep it for himself *bwahahaha* Also, my best-friend Kris has sent me a goody, but I'll only get it delivered at work tomorrow...the suspense is KILLING me! That's they they are both my best-friends...because they know just how to torture me *LMAO*.

The warehouse boys at work were sweethearts, they pooled together and got me a wonderful bottle of wine. It's got a really nice bouquet and leaves a great aftertaste...^_^ I've enjoyed it immensely with my b-day pressie to me...a wonderful cut of AAA Angus rib steak...YUM! It was delicious! I paired it with some cafe noir mushrooms and broccoli steamed just right with some butter and grated old cheddar cheese on top...^_^ Noooo...Shannon doesn't like food...not at ALL....*lol*

And so now I am off to a friend's to celebrate my b-day...what we'll be doing, God knows, but spending the time with her when I haven't seen her since X-mas will be wonderful...especially after she called me to tell me I was coming and her son came on and said Happy B-day to me and that he loved me...*hears the crowd going awww*....I know...I'm a sap...I cried *lol*

My mom also called me and sang happy b-day to me and my sis called me in the day and left me a message that was eerily similar to the message I left HER...*lol* We're twins...^_^ it's nice to always have someone to celebrate your b-day with!

So anyway...before I break the keyboard with my vigorous and hyper typing, I will bid you all adieu.....I hope all your wishes come true in 2007!

Her lovely little dog Ginger has been in and out of the vet's for over a week now with Canine Pancreatitis, which was caused by them removing a stone from her in the first place. She's in serious need of help in being able to pay the vet bills as well as her everyday living expenses.

WOOT!...shaart.com is back up and running.....no, I'm not happy about it at all...

I do think I need to add a graphics gallery for thigns like business cards and the like that I've done...I realize that I don't have much of those things in my gallery...either her or at shaart.

Anyway, I uploaded it the way it was before everything went kaboom......I have a new layout that's almost complete that will be going up shortly and I have a lot fo artwork to add to the site. Mainly a lot of technical drawings that I wasn't able to scan before.

Oh, that's, right, I forgot to say that my fabulous boyfriend gave me all the wiring I needed to get the scanner I've had sitting on my dresser for two years working! Isn't he great! This means that I'll probably be able to do sketches by hand rather than by computer and maybe even do my inking by hand... We'll see...*lol*

I have been getting some lovely freelance work from many people lately and I have two interviews for fulltime positions pending. I also have some great ideas to get my Mary Kay business back up and running for the Holidays... And so I will continue to be a busy little bee....so I guess that means that that huge list of personal art I'd like to start cracking down on will have to wait...again....ah well, I will still be uploading artwork though!
