Expect delays

I mentioned some time ago that I'd probably have less time to work on my art soon- for the next few weeks (or at least this upcoming week) I won't be very active here/working on things. It's "Hell Week" (dress rehearsals) this week, which means I'll be at school until at least 10pm each day, then we have the productions this and next weekend. After that, I have senior project and a bunch of other school-related things (all my teachers like to make March/April the hardest time ). Just an FYI if you don't see the usual amount of me soon.

The "Little Houdini" escapes!

So here's the story:

A cop was transporting a criminal from Florida to Tennessee yesterday and the cop decides to stop at the Waffle House a few yards from my sister's college to get some food to go.

The food wasn't the only thing that went

The prisoner (nonviolent- he was arrested for stealing a Walmart truck) had been undoing the hand and ankle cuffs and belt restraint in the car while they were on the road and escaped when the cop went into the Waffle House! He ran over to my sister's college and they had the whole place on lockdown.

He got away.

The guy has a song written about him, is notorious for stealing large machinery/vehicles in several other states, and has escaped in the same way before!

My sister got the day off and now everyone's laughing about it. So if you see it on the national news, that's us!


Also, thanks so much for the lovely birthday wishes! We went out to eat and the restaurant gave us a huge slice of cheesecake (well, they had to sing 'Happy Birthday" to me really really loudly first! ) My family got me a digital camera
I also got a pet hermit crab His name is Herbert. He's cool But my cat figured out he's there

It's been one of those days

I know I haven't been as diligent with the comic lately- to be truthful I've been a bit uninspired I think I need to figure out how to make it look more professional, or at least make up for my under-par drawing and especially coloring "skills." Seeing others' comics has persuaded me that it might be time for change.

My Pokemon fetish should die down soon- sometimes these things re-arise and I get inspired in that theme versus my normal. I'm taking a mini vacation from it I suppose

I think I'm starting to come on with senioritis already I have to keep going though- I'm not blowing all I've worked for these past 3 years But patience escapes...

Well, back now, but stills

I am baq. Spent a couple days at the beach and got hardly anything done- mission accomplished!
Kinda off & on motivation to draw and work now- I'm feeling incredibly lazy and I have to read my book. Also, I got re-hooked on my Pokemon Ruby Version game (I played it the entire time on the plane).

The trip was nice: I still think sofa beds are the devil, and it rained for one day, but it was nice. See the ocean, nap on the beach, watch Dad turn pink after a couple hours

Funny thing on the way back: our flight was delayed because some numbskulls tried to take a bunch of Aruban crabs home with them in their checked baggage but got stopped at Customs. I'm not lying- it's one of the better excuses to be late.

A Strange Turn of Events

I'd like to start off with a thank you, a hug, and an "I'm sorry" to all those who read/responded to my last journal- I'm sorry you had to put up with pettiness I just rant sometimes.

Anyways, right after school that day (I wrote the journal at school), things actually went in the polar opposite direction. You see, we're doing the musical "Into the Woods" in our school Drama Club, and the cast was set, we're well into it now, etc. I was cast as a few smaller roles, like Granny & Cinderella's mother, although I had my eye on some other roles (Baker's Wife, Witch, etc). My director pulled me aside Thursday to tell me that one of our leads, the Witch, will be unable to perform the last 2 nights of the performance and that she and the PSM had decided to deem me her understudy for those nights.

Holy crap

She told me I had been in the runnings for the part when they had auditioned and she was asking no one else, and a Plan C (cancel the last night or so) would go into effect if I declined. She said I had a choice and she understood, since we have 3 WEEKS until performance.

The ironic thing is the moral of the play is "careful what you wish for; you just might get it"

I decided to do it, which means more intensive rehearsal to make up for lost time.
With school and that, that means there's a deviation drought in the forecast here. This is my last chance to do anything like this ever again, so I'm seizing the moment, even if it means less art time. I'll be able to do it later, when I'm done with the play and senior project.

I have the week off this weekso I'm stockpiling some art and I might work on some while I'm out of town this week tomorrow- Wednesday.

Some other good things happened to- I think fate likes to feck with my emotions. I'm a silly pawn in the scheme of life

In conclusion, Happy Valentine's Day to you all, even if you are single. I'm enjoying it quite well single, anyways- for us it's National Chocolate Day

Well, it's been a week. I suppose. Most of one anyways.

Good, Bad, and Ugly all into it *starts generic Western faceoff music from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly"*

The Good:
- Holy shat Silver's in the Black Knight! I flipped a shat when I found that out last night!
- Yeah, it comes out around my birthday
- Valentine's Day = excuse to eat sugar
- Next week is our February week-long vacation
- My car's been fixed so I don't have to crawl in through the passenger's side.

The Bad:
- Valentine's Day = nobody's really gives a feck about me b/c all the people I know at school are just aquaintances and not "friends"
- Today absolutely sucks: the other art teacher accuses me of not working and just blabbing my mouth off when I'm working even though I AM working and I'm ahead of the other guys.
- I got stood up again at lunch by my one closer "aquaintance", so I sat with a clusterfuck of airheaded idiots. One of them kept going on about how I look like I could be the sister of the absolutely fugly guy stuck next to me, which they didn't get a fecking clue that it was offensive.
- I hate high school. I want out. I want to know where I'm going next year really soon.
- Some of my classes make me want to bang my head against my desk until I mash my brains in
- I've lost a little bit of artistic motivation off and on lately.

The Ugly:
- It rained like Hell yesterday. Buckets.
- I am XP
- My mom's getting on my prepubescent little sister because she isn't as thin as she thinks she should be. Which unleashes stress and upset across the house and she rants on me.

I know I'm having a bad day today (and reading the end of Macbeth was suitable) and maybe the next day or so, but I'll get over it. It just helps to rant here, so if you actually read all of this, thanks Sorry if I'm being petty or a brat, but it's frustrating.

1 Year Anniversary on DA

Wow, I can't believe it's already been a year since I've been here on DA! I finally got up the courage to make an account here a year ago with the help of my god friend - I was really apprehensive about it, and at first, it didn't really do anything, but during the summer I really started to get into it.

I'd like to take a moment to thank and who were some of the first ones to make me feel at home here on DA.

Having this has really helped me learn a lot more about my computer art programs and develop as an artist, as well as giving me something to do

Went to see the movie "Slumdog Millionaire" today- one of the best movies I've seen in a long time I highly suggest seeing it but warn you that some of it's kinda shocking- after all, it's about a boy from the slums of Mumbai,India.

And it snowed today! It actually got cold enough and precipitation fell from the sky! Wooooow! XD

First day back at school today- I'm out of Economics (yay! That class is depressing nowdays XD) but I'm in Government

Wow, what a year it's been! Lots of stuff happened and done and everything!

We started off right- watched the ball drop in NYC on tv, then lit fireworks in the street, where my sister's guy friends all jumped over them

2009's been a year I've been anticipating- this year will be my 1st in college and my year of high school graduation. And I'm turning 18

I got the letter in the mail, but we also called up the Admissions Office- they couldn't have been nicer They had approx. 7,000 for early apps and can only take about 200 this year for the class. They told me that it wasn't really my fault at all but it was numbers and such. It wasn't that I wasn't necessarily good enough or anything. They're not the uptight elitist school my parents had the impression of

I feel like a total ass right now

But on the good side, 1ST SEMESTER IS OVER!!!! Even though my class and I almost died b/c of our last exam (math test from Hell) and I still have to do senior project, fill out more applications, and visit colleges, I'm free!

I'm working on some holiday stuff as we speak. And I'm able to work on my stuff away from home as well with my computer, so when I go to our grandparents' I'll have it with me

My early admissions results are coming in. First one, which was the school I was really shipping for, had the results online. I was denied- not deferred, denied, as in "fat chance, we're not taking you." I think there a lot of things that were against me, but I busted my arse on that application. So I was severely pissed yesterday.

At least I have a better chance at getting into my 2nd choice. The only thing is that I don't want to be stuck in Georgia all my life. I'm not Southern in the least, but the regional label is still stamped on us. Gotta tell you, though, Metro-Atlantans are different from rednecks, which are different from Urban Atlantans, which are different from Scarlet O'Hara southerners.

Exams coming to a close- it's not going to be fun. I've got my work cut out for me.

But at least it's almost the holidays! I'm workingon my seasonal stuff.

First, I did end up making the cast I've been with my school theatre group for a long time so our director knows what I'm really like. I got Cinderella's Mother/Red's Grandma in "Into the Woods." Mot the part I was hoping for, but I'm glad I'm able to be a part of it, even if several of us disagree with parts of the casting (part of it is bureaucracy, and I'm not one to kiss people's arses).

Second, I finally got my Mac Book! Battled traffic at the mall yesterday to go get it. I'm not using it right this second, b/c my sis's boyfriend is going to help put all my stuff on it. It's much different from Windows, but I'll get used to it.

This means I get more privacy with my work and a little more peace & quiet, as well as the ability to work on my stuff without having to share the computer I might be getting more done that way

I rented the Wii version of Sonic Unleashed, and I found out that the graphics on the Xbox 360 version are better and that the Wii version is missing some of the coolest levels! I am severely pissed now! It's a scandal! It's an outrage! (continues Oklahoma song)

Sure, the game is fun, but honestly, I really wish I had an Xbox 360 now. For this and Sonic next gen (despite how unpopular it is, I often disagree with the critics).

Despite that, working on my audition for "Into the Woods" on Weds. Really nervous- I suck at memorizing monologues. The auditions are much more difficult for this show.

And the WereSilver comic. Well, this is how I was planning to lay it out. Do it in written format, but have it illustrated in comic book form. Basically, no in-comic text, but pictures with the written story. I'll have to get to work on that sometime, but I'll try to get it started.

Happy Belated Thanksgiving. A person was killed today at doorbusting sales by a mall-mad pack of Americans Why are we so materialistic?

Rented Sonic Unleashed today! The graphics of the gameplay aren't as good as I had hoped, but it's fun! Making lots of jokes in mid-gameplay with my sister fun fun.
