I feel the necesity to try other things and i have not been inspired to submit anymore on here, many things have changed on the community or maybe is my lack of interest.

I didn't have enough time to save all that i wanted. so, all my work of the last years is lost.
I bless the analogue photography now in a way, despite i lost a lot of scanned negatives, i still have them to scan them again.
But, there are all those files that i made 100% digital. They don't exist anymore.
The positive side? Well, i will have to work again since the start on many things, and i will have to keep working much more than before.

My disco duro se dañó hace dos días. No tuve tiempo (y cd's) suficientes para respaldar todo lo que yo hubiera querido. Todo mi trabajo desde hace algunos años se ha perdido.
Bendita la fotografía análoga, a pesar de perder tantos negativos escaneados, todavía los tengo para capturarlos nuevamente.
Pero aquellos archivos hechos 100% digitalmente ya no existen.
¿El lado positivo? Pues que tendré que trabajar de nueva cuenta desde el principio y tendré que trabajar mucho más que antes.

Scients:
Genius or people extremly smart who don't care to be like this. Their job is to answear questions and to make awesome things. They don't have any idea about how necesary they are.

Gurus:
They were angels, heroes and scients in the past. They know what they do. They own the last word on many decisions but they judge a lot. It seems that they live only for their art.

I started to play with my Holga toy camera which i gave my self on my bday.
I just submited some images taken by this camera. These cameras, as you know, are very simple, but they use 120 mm film in different formats. The pics that i took are on normal color film, and on cross proccesed film. The images that you could see on here were scanned from the film. I enjoyed a lot the experience, and i'm still taking more photos.

My world on spoons:

I'm starting to submit deviations about my last exhibition "Cotidianeidades Cóncavas", This one is still on the physicall space where was the opening two weeks ago.

To save work writing the same explanation on each one, i will do that here.
These are 22 photographs about reflections on spoons.
The topic on the reflections is my daily life
I took the photos by a 35 mm film camera and a macro lens to capture the reflection on such little surface.
The films were b&w T max 400
I developed them using microdol X developer on the laboratory, it worked very well.
They were scanned and later i gave those yellow shades on photoshop
Hope you like them, and i want to thank my DA friends who have :+fav: some of them, and those who have me gaving support during all these works.

But today i wold like to share a subject with you all.
Many many times when i show my images to the people, i'm asked about: what kind of camera do you have? or what brand of camera do you own?
This question is kind of unconfortable for me.
Why?
Many reasons.
1. Could be, because i think or maybe i do work a lot to get a "good" or "nice", minimun an aceptable photo, since i watched previously the subject and i thought how to take the pic, i study the shooting, etc, in many cases. So, when i'm asked what camera do i have, that means for me many times something like: she takes those photos because she uses x or y camera, as if the camera wold be the only one who takes pics by it self.
2. Because i have the idea that i have to learn to work well with my current resources. So, if i take a pic, it means that i'm learning or i know to use those resources as much that i'm able to use them. An expensive equipment will make me work less, but not better.
3. Maybe because i learned to use more manual methods, now, the multiple functions that my digital camera owns are unusefull for me, sooner or later, i come back to use it in a manual mode, manual focus, expusure, etc :)
4. For me, the quality on a picture is not on the perfect resolution, focus or exposure, my parameters of quality, are inside of the spirit, not inside of my eye. (sorry, maybe that's why not all my images are 100% "good quality")
5. Here on DA, as well on another exhibitions, books and magazines, i get in love with images that are made with the most simple cameras (or not even with cameras, many times are pinhole, or draws made by an enlarger, etc)
6. In the same way, many images made by expensive and fancy cameras, are very common for me, very well done, but boring.
7. However, there are things that worth to buy, like good objetives (a wide angle for example), or macro lenses, but, as i said, if we learn well to use the basic stuff, the rest come by themselves.
8. I don't want to make long this list (but it could be). After some years learning the light behivor and the basic reflex of 35mm and lab work, and maybe in a combination of couriosity and money saved, now i have my digital canon (very nice for fast and comercial works), i just bought a lovely Hasselblad, but what now i have time to use and to play with it, is my new toy Holga Camera :D Hope to have some nice "naive" works soon.

Cotidianeidades Cóncavas




La cotidianeidad. Una serie de hechos, de actitudes, de paisajes repetitivos. Es en realidad tan diversa, como diversas somos todas las personas.
La cotidianeidad nos vuelve reconocibles ante los demás, es el todo de cada uno de nosotros perpetuado en la vida diaria, transformándose en una realidad permanente.
Los objetos construidos, la ciudad con sus espacios que nos reconocen a su vez, se plasman en ella. Tanto los objetos como los hechos que se reconstruyen y se moldean a través de nosotros, es nuestro diseño de lo cotidiano al contraponer la vida exterior con nuestra vida interior.
Un objeto que circunstancialmente nos arroja la cotidianeidad a lo largo de casi toda nuestra existencia es la cuchara. Toda la gama de experiencias sensoriales que nos proporciona una cuchara metálica común la convierte en una extensión de nosotros mismos. Se vuelve invisible mientras no se necesite y rápidamente su utilidad ha borrado de nuestra mente todo lo que podamos observar acerca de ella.
Visualmente es capaz de reflejar nuestra vida diaria de tal manera que podríamos estar escuchando a alguien más darnos su versión de nuestra propia realidad, alterándola de una manera en que podemos terminar siendo cómplices de un relato acerca de nuestros espacios, nuestros objetos y de lo que nos pueda rodear traducidos por la concavidad de un cotidiano pedazo de metal.

Today i was in the darkroom, it was very nice, since it's vacation and i had a full school laboratory for me. I was just a bit worried because suddenly, when i was preparing the films to be developed, i started to see objects around me, that means that there was light comming from nowhere inside of that "darkroom". Fortunelly, my films were ok. I spent more than 20 minutes on the developing process, since it was a T Max 400 ASA and a Microdol-X chemical on 1:3 proportion. I hope to see the contacts with good surprises. I will use those images for my next exhibition on June, all my DA friends are already invited to this exhibition. (June 7th)

Sorry for the spanish this time, but i could not express so much about what i wrote in english.
ESPERO TENER COMENTARIOS DE QUIENES SI ENTIENDAN ESPAÑOL.

Cuando un ángel se desvanece, arrastra junto con sus pedazos todo lo que queda a su paso

Ayer vino a mi encuentro el hermoso Angelos. Aquel emisario que muchas veces iluminaba mis días y alguna que otra ocasión que se escondía el sol de mis ventanas. Angelos sonreía como siempre. Sin embargo estaba angustiado. Sus ojos en los que yo me perdía ahora mostraban un paisaje húmedo y desolado. Por momentos viajaban al infinito.
Hoy era un ángel que caía y trataba por todos los medios de elevarse aunque fuera por unos centímetros del suelo. Tantos corazones latiendo a su alrededor lo hundían.
Yo caminaba por las calles y en las fachadas se proyectaba su rostro. En mi plexo se entretejían miles de vainas que crecían apresuradamente hasta oscurecerlo todo y negarme el aliento. Su imagen me perseguía y cuando más se acercaba, se tornaba más tenue.
Entré a una biblioteca. Las vainas habían llegado a mi cabeza y trataban de cubrirme los ojos impidiéndome leer los libros. En realidad no los leí. Simplemente pasé por todas sus páginas, una a una, borrando la maleza. Alcé la mirada, volví a ver el halo de Angelos que dio la vuelta por la habitación, se partió en fragmentos y se diluyeron poco a poco, entre los cajones y las líneas de cada tomo.
Una música de violines que emanaba de las plazas enlutaba su memoria. El ocaso llegó sin su presencia. Después de todo, no éramos tan distintos como yo me imaginaba. Simplemente era un ente cuyo resplandor nos presta la vida por un rato. Abrí los ojos y podé tanta negra vegetación. He decidido impedir que el bello Angelos fulmine sus alas.

What's up about Ilford???

Today i found out by a photography material seller that Ilford has closed the factory here in Mexico :crying:

I don't know if this is happening around the world.
I'm very worried, I love to be in the lab making different photography techniques using these papers.

Otherwise the Ilford B&W films are very good.

I feel really bad about that, since now are very few the people who uses these materials thanks to the digital technology.

I agree about digital, but definetely i think this is very bad for the artistic photography.

What do you think about it?

1. i always have a mess, but a really MESS

2. I studied architecture.

3. I started to take photos at 9, and an aunt gave me a heavy Zenit camera at 13. as nobody took it serious but me, i had to study photography after architecture.

4. When i was child i took lots of unconcluded courses: piano, dance, painting and i don't remember what more else. Now i know that i'm a very good procastinator.

5. I could not live without cheese.

6. I don't have brother or sisters and i'm fatherless.

7. I'm very very very curl. A child spilled glue over my head when we were 7 years old. Ouch.

8. I was in a car crash at 1 year old.

9. I have had many affairs, an italian, a turkish, an english, between them, and lots of heart breakins but anything serious 'till now.

10. My favorite cities are Paris, Mexico City, Mérida and my place, Guanajuato.

11. I have had 2 individual photography exhibitions in 3 different cities and more than 5 colective works. And some very good offers.

12. I have bought a full kit for photogaphy lab and a full format camera that i haven't had chance to use (i want to cry).

13. My favorite DA emoticon is: :rofl: is alike to a friend of mine.

14. I want to study graphic design.

15. I like boys more younger than me.

That allows me to take pictures, to go to the shows, to the press rooms and i cross my fingers to get many chances for publishing.
I'm starting to practice also writting notes and making interviews.
Yesterday i was in a conference gaven by Phillip Glass. He is a genius. And i'm sure that the today's concert will be amazing (Orion).
Espectacles have been very diverse, as every year. From many countries, lots of expositions, art movies, and many, many artists.
I think photojournalism is not for me, but i don't know why, sometimes i make it, like this time.
I wold like to have a more digital-faster camera for it. It has been a bit expensive to work with the traditional camera. But certainly i have been learning a lot.
Advices, and suggestions, will be very welcome.

One day i added to my favorites a pic that i couldn't ignore easily. Is an image very spontaneous, but as i say, unforgettable .

A little story first.

I never was in a DA forum, i just pick on there by curiousity and i post some thumbs about stairs. I think i created a new forum. i started to receive answears about more stairs thumbs, between them, this terrific Deviant of Many Talents images.
I'm so proud and grateful, as i already said to him, because he has dedicated his today's journal to myself (Maybe it's Just Me...Journal Entry: Tue Aug 9, 2005, 8:24 AM)
It's the first time that a DA artist does it in a journal, and i'm so proud that it was by an artist with this size of quality.
Oh, by the way, here is his link and my opinions, as he says maybe this is not the unique journal dedicated to him, but one more time doesnt' hurt right? :)

His gallery has 24 deviations, i don't know if it's because his time on DA or because he has chosen very well what to show. Perfect lines and great quality. Architecture most of them.

What do i like?
His angles, his points of view, his quality. As an architect, i apreciate very much that, because buildings deserve to be respected by a good shoot.

What i don't like?
Sorry, i have to talk about it too. Well, perfection and quality are always awarded and estimated. But is necesary to keep the sensibility to make it much more great. Of course my goal is to reach this quality, as it must to be by everybody. Sometimes, i wold like to see a deffect between so many perfection, but well, Is just my humble opinion My teachers wold be disapointed if they read it about to make low quality photos. :blush:

Ayer lo recordé.
Ver la vida a través de otros ojos me hizo recordar cómo era la mía hace muchos años.
Un cuadro lleno de colores, de personajes sonrientes...de miopía.
Pero un día decidí que ese retrato no sería más de esa forma. Decidí transformarlo en una obra de arte, una obra ininteligible, compleja, pero hermosa.
Comencé por borrar todos esos colores, a matizar el fondo de rojo, sabía que al seguir pintando, ese rojo se percibiría hasta atrás, la pasión, la pasión era todo, pero permanecería detrás de todo, después, quise usar las técnicas más diversas, llegué a la conclusión de que con el paso de las pinceladas ni siquiera yo misma reconocería aquello.
Así, la pintura se ha ido creando, en ocasiones el pincel ha plasmado los colores con tanta fuerza que el lienzo ha corrido el riesgo de hacerse pedazos.
Pero el arte siempre ha sido vulnerable al tiempo y a sus influencias.
Hoy el lienzo ya no permite ser visto como era originalmente.
No se ni siquiera si es hermoso.
Pero, sí. Logré que fuera una obra de arte ininteligible y por demás compleja que continúa dibujándose y dibujándose en cualquier segundo y sin volverla a reconocer al siguiente.

Existe un París distinto dentro de cada uno de nosotros. Nadie individualmente podría retratarlos todos. Aquí están, mediante blancos, negros y grises algunos de sus testigos primarios y constantes, elementos paisajísticos cuyo único defecto, es que sean tan silentes y callen sus remembranzas. Herrerías que sienten a quienes padecen París y liberan sus almas por los balcones. Miradas encerradas en cuerpos de bronce que no descansan de ser vistos permanentemente, pero...¿a quiénes contemplan ellas? Vagabundos que hacen de las calles su feudo y de la indiferencia de los súbditos un lujo. De aquellos espacios móviles o estáticos que contienen a habitantes sobre y por debajo de la tierra, artistas, comerciantes, ambulantes o deambulantes, personas en constante movimiento que sorpresivamente, lo pierden al ingresar a un vagón y comenzar un callado juego de espionaje mutuo. Hay más de un París en la realidad, de enormes contrastes y aquellas transiciones entre el subsuelo y el paramento lo hacen aún más evidente. Existe un París emergente que establece una clara distancia formal con el de siempre, más de concretos, más de pieles vítreas contemporáneas, más de metal y de vistas verticales.
Me considero miembro de quienes ven hacia arriba constantemente, perseguimos las fugas de los edificios coronados de mansardas y no encontramos el límite a nuestras ideas y de quienes matamos las bajas temperaturas dentro de los cafés de un Barrio Latino percibiendo murmullos nebulosos. El París romántico es preferible dejárselo a los románticos y encerrarlo en sus buhardillas. El carácter de la ciudad va más allá. Hay una multiplicidad de mensajes por segundo, cuyas voces exteriores hay que enmudecer, para que algunos de ellos puedan ser recibidos.
No debemos omitir que París es la capital de un país colmado de cultura y de tradiciones, Francia hoy en día incluye ciudades que mantienen una competencia paralela por el atractivo global. Arles es una ciudad demasiado pequeña comparada con su extensión histórica, que utiliza su colosal anfiteatro romano para eventos taurinos que otros preferimos darles la vuelta. Una entidad donde el tiempo parece descansar sobre sus muros haciéndose perpetuo. Por el contrario, Nimes se encuentra muy cerca pero distante en similitud, a ella le pertenecen jardines y senderos que se asemejan al sendero vital de nuestra mente y donde se pueden realizar pausas para sentarse y observar. Ahí Norman Foster acaba de dejar su huella entre historias arquitectónicas.
Existe un París distinto dentro de cada uno de nosotros.
Para Carlos V no era una ciudad, sino un mundo, A Enrique de Navarra le valió una misa (“París vaut bien une messe”), le valió una conversión religiosa y le valió un trono. Patrick Suskind lo poseía dentro de su nariz. Describía un París decadente en El Perfume, pero marcado por los olores. Eugène Atget lo utilizó como una herramienta de trabajo aún más importante que su propia cámara fotográfica y convirtió el producto de esta labor en el testimonio fotográfico más importante de su época sobre imagen urbana en París. Aquí Napoleón trabajó su imperio y lo impregnó de esta esencia de poder y monumentalidad. La Belle Epoque en este lugar pintó el mundo de impresionismo e impresionistas. Muchos nombres se han hecho célebres gracias a Paris, y a su vez, lo han hecho trascendental. Parisinos o no, franceses o no. Personajes que la habitan, en autoría o en presencia. En ningún momento sus tragedias, si es que fueron grandes menoscabaron la ciudad, al contrario, la hicieron grande.
Hoy podemos admirar el París que alguna vez fue de el Barón Haussmann, de André Le Nôtre, de Tony Garnier, de François Mansard, que hoy es de I. M. Pei, de Renzo Piano, o de Jean Nouvel, entre una interminable enumeración de arquitectos y urbanistas, ellos no se callaron su París Interno, ellos además lo hicieron nuestro.
Son ya innumerables las listas de todo tipo relacionadas con París, e infinito el número de nombres en cada una. Todos hemos escuchado de quienes la han hecho su refugio, o su escenario de gloria. De quienes la muerte los encontró ahí por voluntad propia o por otros designios. Están quienes cuentan historias que recuerdan amablemente y otros que optan por olvidarlas.
Existe un París distinto dentro de cada uno de nosotros. Es curioso como cuando ves algo siempre del mismo tono semioscuro, ese algo empieza a destellar, como si se negara a permanecer gris ante los ojos.
Anoche te mandé llamar ¿o mas bien ya estabas aquí?.
Me invitaste a una de tus reuniones, estaba un gran numero de personas dentro de aquel espacio oscuro, construido con piedras muy viejas y ensambladas sin nada entre si. Se sentía mucho frío, había mesas de madera redondas, hechas con tablas de colores grises irregulares, pero no había nada encima de ellas. Se reunían en grupos alrededor de aquellas mesas y la luz ribeteaba las cabezas, organizándose desniveles de estos ribetes dentro de la habitación. lo demás estaba negro, sólo se distinguían las piedras del muro por los costados. Yo mantenía una conversación hipócrita con quienes estaban junto a mí, ni siquiera recuerdo quienes eran. Como no iba a perder el tiempo manteniendo ese histrionismo, me moví hacia donde estaban aquellas cabezas más arriba, yo sabía que estabas ahí, pero como pensaba que la hipocresía y las palabras vacías serían más interesantes, te ignoraba. No pude hacerlo más. Cuando me dirigía hacia esas cabezas en lo alto de la sala giré la mía hacia la izquierda. Ya no pude continuar. El ribete se hizo dorado, eras tu, vestías todo de negro, en aquel negro espacio, pero el destello me distrajo más. Entonces cambié la dirección. Verte solo dentro de aquel salón habitado por grupos, no se si me pareció una lástima o una deliciosa oportunidad. Estabas solo, en un extremo de la mesa redonda, al centro de la sala, con un brazo extendido, pero parecías gozarlo. Sabías que lejos de sentirte apartado, te sentías el centro de atención aunque nadie te hiciera caso en ese momento. Mi atención la conseguiste hace tiempo, y quiero decir que la conseguiste porque a mi realmente no me interesaba que la tuvieras. Cuando iba caminando hacia ti, me mirabas seductoramente, con una sonrisa de sabiduría ególatra. Mas no duró mucho tiempo, yo sabía que eras frágil de todas maneras, así que una vez frente a ti te regalé mis brazos y fue cuando bajaste la mirada, a los dos nos cubrió la oscuridad de nuestros párpados y de nuestro calor. Solo quisimos permanecer así. Cuando abrí los ojos, ahora sí, todos nos miraban. La hipocresía se fugó por un momento e irrumpió el desconcierto. Pero ya no podíamos estar ahí. Subimos una escalera de piedra que debió haber tenido otro uso, ya que era estrecha y corta, salimos por un hueco que había en el techo. Nos encontramos fuera a mucha gente, pero sabíamos que no queríamos estar con esas personas en esos momentos. Caminamos, alguien más que estaba a tu servicio nos acompañaba. Atravesamos un corredor estrecho en el pretil de un edificio viejo, y quedamos frente a un frontón de cantera destruido que tenía una puerta en el centro. Detrás únicamente se veía un pirul. Sin embargo la puerta no estaba en tan mal estado. A mi me parecía increíble que pudiera haber algo más detrás, pero cuando me invitaste a pasar vi uno de los más hermosos jardines que he visto, con agua, con bugambilias y muchas esculturas. Cerraste la puerta, ya solo se escuchaba tu voz. Ahora si, todo estaba camuflajeado.
