Today (yesterday, scientifically speaking), I got some of my jewelry on the shelves of Cosmic Depot! For my watchers that aren't in my area, it's a local hippie shop that is very popular and well known by just about everyone. Since I got into this business I have longed to make something good enough for that store. I have been bugging the owner for quite some time now, but I'm not the only one that has, so getting in there when she's there and has open space has been difficult, but it was worth the wait. Hopefully PayPal will be next...

Man have I been slacking lately! With all of the holiday stress on top of everything else, I've totally spaced photographing all of the lovely jewelry I've been making lately. For those of you who are actually watching me, you won't be disappointed here in the next week, because I have some Sunstone Necklaces to show off, and some bracelets on the way.
However, I still can't help but kick myself in the butt for not staying on top of this. Oh well, at least the business is still young, so I can get all of the stupidity out of my system now and have less ramifications later, yay! Anyhoo, stay tuned, good stuff is coming....

Well, I haven't really had time for much of anything other than what I have to do (if that makes sense). It occurred to me last night that I haven't updated anything on here in a while (there's going to be plenty of new pics here in the near future), so I may as well update my journal at the very least.
Saturday market has been going wonderful. Yesterday wasn't the best day business wise, but I got to meet more of the artists at the market (and they are damn talented, a real breath of fresh air), and enjoyed the heat. I had hoped business would be better since tourists are crawling all over Central Oregon right now, but oh well. Munch 'n Music starts on Thursday and that draws a much bigger crowd, so hopefully that will go better.
Pulling away from the markets for a moment, I have been learning more knots for hemp lately, so there's going to be a lot of new stuff coming. Once I have a job again, I can concentrate on getting more beads than what I already have. I have also been considering taking up an apprenticeship in glass blowing. It's sounding better and better every day. We'll see what happens, I have to concentrate on getting a job before anything else.

The jewelry show was a success, and they did sell some of my stuff. I have been messing around with multi-strand beading a lot and have come up with some awesome stuff. I can't wait to get them posted on here! Anyway, I know I have more to say, but I can't really recall right now. I'll update this entry later.

So I finally got some really pretty Sun stones to work with, including beads! I have already made a couple necklaces, and I am considering making a matching bracelet for the hemp necklace. Soon, I will be able to photograph my stuff and get them online, as I have been dying to share these lovely gems with you all. After all, those lovely stones are what got me into this business. I even have one that was cut to look like a spider, which makes me smile.
Drifting away from the stones for a moment, I have been making a lot of awesome stuff lately, and for those of you watching me, you will be impressed. I've been improving my work a lot, and it's been a wonderful ego-boost. Anyway, there's some new pretties coming soon, so stay tuned and have a great day!

So I have finally gotten around to getting the last few weeks photographed. I am rather proud of what has been accomplished, both with the jewelry and promoting myself in my area. It is for certain that I will be running a legitimate booth at the local summer festival by the name of Munch 'n Music. If you are someone who plans on traveling to Central Oregon this summer, it's worth a stop. It happens on thursday nights and there's always good music and tons of great food there. Be watching for me! If you won't be traveling to this area, at least root for me. Well, I have other things to do in the real world, so enjoy the eye candy I have submitted and have a good one!

So it would seem that Mars is finally coming out of retrograde (I'm an Aries), because I have been making so much jewelry lately. Bracelets, necklaces, even anklets. I am so looking forward to being able to post all these goodies and, not to sound so self-centered, but I am very proud of myself right now. You'll see why when I get the new pieces up. I even have a bunch of stone heart pendants that I've been putting together for Valentine's day (thought it is my least favorite holiday). Also, my Grammie and I are working on starting up an ebay account, so my stuff (and the sunstones to come) will be more accessible to those of you who aren't near me. I know that there's more I want to say, but I can't think of it at the moment, so I'll write about it in my next entry. Have a good one!

So I'm sortof new here. As you can tell, I don't have a whole lot going on at the moment. This is my first year of business so it'll be a bit before things really start rocking. I can't wait to be able to show you all the highlight of the business, sun stones. They are absolutely stunning, and they are what inspired me to start truly honing my skills towards making a decent future for myself, as well as the rest of my family. I cannot exclude them for a moment, because they are the ones who started all of this and got me going. This is going to be a dandy little business that we will pass down through the generations, as are all gem companies (to my knowledge, anyway). Well, I really don't know what else to say at the moment, but I'll keep updating more frequently. Just keep checking back.
