The Wolverine one...it feels very 80s, but it feels pretty...I don't know...campy, cliche? (For lack of better words...) It is Madhouse so I should have more faith in it.

I know that they won't do an X-Men one, but wouldn't it be awesome to have that animated in Japan? I would mostly be holding out for the awesome fight scenes considering that they do have some kick ass, flashy powers.

Though...that would mean I would have to buy all of these Marvel anime DVDs that are coming out wouldn't it?

Otakon was really nice and a lot of fun. I met a lot of great people and got some great artwork from the Artist Alley. I only saw three songs from the Kanon Wakashima concert where she decided to entertain everyone by playing her cello and doing some weird interpretative dance in this HUGE red dress. I missed the AMVs again. That's the one thing I actually enjoy doing at every convention. I missed the Dealers' Room, but I seem to be making it there less and less every year.

I am going to be New York Anime Fest this year. Also, there's not going to be any MangaNext this year so I need another con. Has anyone ever been to AnimeUSA? I guess it would be a little weird to head up to Virginia in October? I always wanted to visit though I wish it could have been the beach...

Really corny I know, but even though I didn't know him personally, I felt a piece of my childhood die yesterday when I found out. In his wake he did manage to inspire a whole new generation of performers.

Though it is kinda sad that a lot of kids today only know him as being a pedo, and will never have gotten to experience the awesomeness that his music and performances from 1970s - the early 90s. I'm not saying whether he was or wasn't, but the man was musical genius, as far as I'm concerned, and there probably won't be anyone like him for a loooooooong time.

For the mean time I can even appreciate that In Living Color Am I Black or White skit even more now.

Redoing everything is pretty fun so now all I have to do is to get the cable wired up here to connect to the computer and then we can have normal internet.

It's been a hard few weeks. The temporary computer we had busted down on us, so we constantly fighting with it so it would stay on. *sigh* In all that time we did some drawing and I can't wait to put them up here as soon as I remember how to re-install the software for the scanner.

Needless to say that I lost a lot of artwork, documents, and anything else that I've worked so hard to collect over the last 11 months of 2006-2007. I do have some back ups, but a lot of my work I didn't have backed up like an idiot so now it's lost.

So then after doing all that I can't reconfigure the internet to get on, at all so now I'm doing this from another computer. It sucks. I'm going to attempt to reinstall Windows XP, after I back up everything that's left on the other hard drive, and then see what happens. If worse comes to worse I'll take my comp back to the fair so that the people who built it will try and fix it.

It's been a very, very long time, a little over a year to be exact, since we've updated this thing. I've finally had some time freed up so I'm really, really happy for that because that means I get to work on things now.

I also wanted to thank all the people who have been faving/commenting our work as of late. We really appreciate it.

There's a lot of things that we've been working, but haven't gotten around to put up yet. Well, I have a few new deviations today so we'll see how it goes.

I found that there's a bill being circulated around that would like our ISPers control your internet based on who would pay them top dollar.

Here's a some quotes from the website:

I know that it's been a looooong time since I was last here. Me, being Tasha S., not Ivory M. who was posting her vector art for a good while before her classes ended.

To be honest, after the major changes were put into place here, I no longer wanted to be here and moved on. Well, I never took anything down, because, somewhere, I wanted to come back. It just took me time. Well, I decided to come back and be apart of the community again.

As for us, Sin Comix took a HUGE hiatus last year after the con season. Half of us moved and now we have a new headquarters. I'm going to be moving to the place this summer and I'm trying to wait til we get a computer because we don't have one right now and we need one desperately to keep us going. Otherwise I have to keep travelling between both locations, plus work, and Sin. It's kinda tiring, but I do what I gots to do y'know? So it's time to put new art up here, get to commenting on other people's artworks, making my rounds of deviant comments, and begin forum whoring again. Being here keeps me inspired.

I also got some things I gotta settle. It's time.

I guess we finally made it to this point, not that it means much, but I do like the way the number certainly looks. Now if I just had that much money in one of my bank accounts I would be all good at the moment that's for sure.

Well Otakon is going to suck since we don't really have a table in the Artist's Alley, but we're planning two really big pieces to put up in the Art Show. I know that one will definitely get done, but I'm a little worried about one of the pieces I will be doing. Printing it won't be a problem since I have mysteriously come up with the money to do so, but getting it ready...now that's another story. I should really just stop worrying about it and just get to drawing.

Ahh...it's already July, I don't want to go back to school yet.

Just to let you know, they fucking rawked my sawks off. What a great performance. I had arrived there at like 6:30 pm just to wait until 9pm to be engulfed in a sweaty crowd of people all anxious to see their favorite band finally make an appearance in America. My friend took pictures, but she hasn't sent to them to me yet though.

Even though I don't know their names exactly, the female singer was so obviously tired. Like she looked worn out before she even started, but it was all good, she really did give her all, especially during her performance of Fukai Mori. When the lead guitarist was introducing the song he was like "Does everyone know Inu Yasha?" Of course the room roared in agreement. Though, the male lead guitarist was unbelievably hyped up. His english was pretty good and he was like "It's so cool being here in America and you guys rock, cause you're so much louder."

My friend and second half of Sincomix was in the back screaming out "You're so sexy!!" to the lead guitarist, Leo, he referred to himself as. Well, I was just glad I got to catch them. It was a nice chance to finally hear their music live instead of just on my CD Walkman as I usually hear them.

Now if Gackt and Bonnie Pink can just make it to Otakon I'll be set for a really long time to come.

Despite what a wonderful program Open Canvas is, the truth is that it works with a resolution 72 DPI and RGB mode, dpi stands for dots per inch and RGB stands for Red, Green, Blue. That is a web standard resolution and mode. The reason for this is because on the web the smaller the file the better it is for you, because it is less for your computer to load.

Now, in the real world of prinitng, the minimal is 300 DPI and CMYK mode, sometimes Greyscale amd maybe a few others depending on what is going to be printed. Actually it shouldn't be anymore than that, but hey some people have it their way, but after 600 or 1200 DPI no one can really tell the difference anymore. Well maybe except your computer which will probably let you know it's working on such a big file. The CMYK stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black, which are the colors of your ink in your printer.

Now some people just bring their creations from Open Canvas to Adobe Photoshop where they simply convert it from RGB to CMYK. That in itself is a no-no, because documents that have been converted from RGB to CMYK never print very well. Then we have the issue of documents printing at 72 dpi. Due to the lack of dots per inch, or square inch of the page, you're going to have a pretty shitty print-out. The only way to get that sucker to print out beautifully is to put the document at 300 dpi, but then you're going to get a much smaller piece.

This is why Open Canvas is a mixed blessing. I am trying to get used to it, but I keep it simply for web work, since that's, basically, all it's really good for. When it comes to printing, Adobe Photoshop and Painter, along with others, rule all. This is the ultimate truth.

Despite what anyone says, MAILING YOURSELF THE WORK DOES NOT WORK. This has no weight in court and you will be laughed out and then you will be screwed and the other person(s) wins your work or they feel like you haven't incurred any damages therfor rewarding you nothing. Do not be stupid.

Copyrights go in levels:

1. As soon as you make the piece, it's yours. It's copyrighted to you.

2. Put the © on it with your name and date. Just having it below your piece where DA lists it is not enough! Do not naively believe that you are protected in this manner.

3. Mail your stuff to the copyright office. Doing this is for the sake of you having the governement's backing behind you. It's like you pay the government $45 to say "This is copyrighted by ." If you have a lot of works, just reduce them all to fit a piece of paper. That way you can save money.

Also please read when signing contracts. If you don't read the fine print you might be giving someone copyrights to every piece you make for the rest of your life.

Well that's just the way it is and it's important to just grab life by the balls and take control of it. I kinda feel like a hypocrite, because as I type this, I'm still wallowing in my own self-defeat. I don't know what it takes to convince yourself that even though things get really fucking tough and even though you feel kind of depressed that you should appreciate what you do have because you might lose it all one day.

It may be irony how I still managed to make a rant out of this...ugh..

On a lighter note, I know that I'm missing a lot of Deviants on my page, but do not fret, I am trying to reorganize my list so that I can include a lot of new people that I have found as of recently.

Now on to the rant:

You know what? I hate double standards. I don't really watch a lot of music videos anymore since they're really all become composed of the same thing: half naked women. But this applies to television and popular media outlets in general. It comes to the point where these outlets have become saturated with the scantily clad female body. Don't get me wrong, the female body is a beautiful thing, but so is the male's.

I feel that as a straight female, I too would like to see more things catered towards me, that doesn't involve pastel colors, flowers, cooking pots, and clothes. I want to see scantily clad men as well. Take the magazine Maxim, it's as close as a 12 year old bi/straight male can get to porn. All the photographs feature all of their female models in sexy poses in barely nothing if anything at all.

Now, when they have something featuring men, in the same magazine even, all the men are fully clothed. Which is the same in many rap/hip-hop music videos. Here, most of these rappers are shooting this video in the hot sun of some Carribean island or some pretty normal temperature set and while the girls are wearing hot pants and booty huggers, the guiys are covered from head to toe. Not that most of them look attractive since they look like chicken wings, but at least give me a knee. That's all I ask.

By doing this, I think that we are sending the message that male body is in fact an ugly thing and must not be looked at in a sexual way. Yet, the female body is beautiful and most be used for the purpose of arousing men. Like supermarkets/groceries find it all right to feature nude women on the cover of the magazines they sell, but a nude male body is not, b/c then it would be "porn."

I know I need to draw more naked men myself, but I'm not a victim of this type of thinking that is why I can call it out to others. ...If that made sense.

I just don't get it. Not that it's a bad thing, but must I draw little hearts, flowers, and cute widdle bears in order to appeal to a general audience and not have fellow females flying away from my work like it's the plague? I mean once I tried to do the whole "kawaii" manga style, but I just couldn't. Like there was something inside my soul that rejected it. Maybe I just need to practice more, but there was something inside that said " NOOOOOOOO!! You mustn't draw in this style or it will be the end of you!!!" It was so scary.

Is the human body wrong to look at? Am I wrong for loving the human figure and wanting to express that through my art? Am I also wrong for not always having a PG/PG-13 state of mind and my thoughts/ideas run into the R/NC-17 section? I like cute stuff too, but I guess it's just not in me to create it.

I feel like Naruto inspired me so much. Maybe a big part was he reminded me of my little brother who is also a Libra. In other news, I haven't updated anything in like forever. I just came from Anime Next with and we had a pretty good time. We were there, we sold, we met lots of cool people, and the whatnot. I think that we're gonna take a rest when it comes to the convention circuit until Katsucon. That way we can work on a lot of new things and be ready with new stuff.

As for Otakon, it was pretty good. Many people shyed away from our comic, SCORE! at first, but we managed to sell what we had. I don't know what to sy about the con other than I spent most of my time at the Artist's Alley and arguing with the guys handling the Artist's Auction, being the screwups that they are. They didn't put up my Integra and Alucard piece until very late b/c it was "hentai" because of the inked mass of pubic hair on Integra.
