Oh well...

At the moment I have a permanent colony of butterflies living in my stomach. And I know why, I just don't really feel like saying. I'll probably be disappointed so it's best to keep the reasons behind my feelings a secret, you know? The butterflies are staying until I get over my feelings. It wouldn't matter if what I want to happen does, the butterflies would still stay, because these are crazy times.

I feel terrible because I loved the way Johnny Depp died in Public Enemies, but that isn't causing the butterflies.

It's because I'm an extremely boring, not very accomplished (as far as art goes) person, and I'm not confident at all about my own abilities (as far as art goes). It's hard with school and stuff to try and better my art, because I absolutely love the thrill of flogging everyone academically, and would like to continue doing so.

But it turns out that I'm the best in my art class at school, and that really surprises me, because I feel I have no inherent talent at it. I don't know, I can't work it out.

With my writing, I feel it is simplistic to the point of vagueness. It lacks substance and attraction. And writing doesn't thrill me. I hate that it's so subjective, one thing that's good might be horrid to another, and since an artist is never entirely happy with their work, there's no need to guess which opinion they'll be siding with.

I guess that maybe I'm expecting to write at a publishable standard straight away, and that a few fluke competition wins were steering my ego further through the roof. I'm used to being good at things first go, I'm good at remembering things, I work well in exam conditions, and I'm good at pulling top-of-the-class assignments out of my arse the night before they're due. But I'm not good at writing, and because of that, I'm finding it hard to even pick up a pen and attempt it.

Nah, it wasn't too bad, it was just busy. I got FIVE text books today! And my bag weighed like 50 kilos.

I have 12 free periods which I'm very happy about, though until work picks up they're going to be kind of boring. I have two free periods tomorrow morning and I already finished my homework in today's free period, so I don't know what I'm going to do!

Eh, I don't know what to write for today's haiku. I'm having a mental blank at the moment, I can't think of anything.

Oh! One of the girls at school today was all like "Oh my god! You're nails! How long have you had them on!" as if they were fake, which they're not. I did them myself, but I didn't tell her so. If she's not going to look close enough to see how shoddy they are, then I'm not going to enlighten her.

And Chemistry is a bit of a joke. My teacher things my arse shits rainbows, so as soon as I finish she expects everyone else to have finished too, and if someone can't answer a question then she immediately asks me. But usually she just asks me the question first, and doesn't give anyone else a chance, to save time I suppose. It's quite annoying.

So, I'm weak. The city's annual show was on this weekend and I only went on two rides, the tilt-a-whirl and the cha-cha - the easy rides.

But I had so much fun! The only thing I ate all day was five incredibly unhealthy jam doughnuts, and if I could eat them all day with no consequence I totally would.

I've decided that I'm too shy - around my best friends no less. I got complained at because I 'ignored them'. The truth is that I never saw them waving at me, and when I did see them they had their backs turned and I was too shy to go up to them, because they had other people around them.

But even when they don't have other people around them, I'm still incredibly awful. I don't see enough of them as it is, without letting my personality flaws getting in the way of the time I do spend with them.

So I'm going to practice being un-shy. Brace yourself.

Ugh, I'm not really good at writing journals, and I'm getting all self-conscious about my sentence structure.

I've decided what I'm going to do once I get out of high-school. I'm going to uni, where I'll study molecular biology which is genetic modification and stuff, then I'll work on finding and eradicating the gene for stupidity.

Well maybe not that, but I'd like to work for some sort of research thing.

But yeah, to do that I need to do super hard maths and knuckle down a bit in my classes. Chemistry is an essential pre-requisite, and I have to do biology and some maths subjects, and I need to get a really high UAI.

I think I'll manage.
