I'm currently enjoying just passion for drawing and art in general. This month I have accomplished a lot so far.

I visited Art Center, my hopeful school for this fall...showed my portfolio with hopes on gaining some insight on how to make my work good enough to get into the Entertainment Design program (good luck me).

I kept my daily self portrait thing going...and it will continue to go, I believe...I'm really enjoying it...one of the best ideas I ever stole from other artists I admire. Thanks guys...

The Assassins Creed project with the guys at the Duo Group [link] (I don't know how to make fancy links) is nearing a close...or at least my end of things. Artwork is I would say...80-90% there...few scenes remain and then there's just going to be some other promotional stuff. Hopefully we'll get a speedpainting video done to kind of get everyone excited for the finished animation. It's going to be sweeeet. Please check out the rest of their work, they're great people and they're good at what they do.

I, once again, resolve to become a more active member in the DA community. I have many friends on here in which I'd love to keep close too and I haven't been a good job of doing that. So I'm sorry for all the comments never responded too, or the deviations never viewed by me. Someday I'll make it up to you!

Keep drawing, guys.

eth.

I've fit a lot in so far and plan on doing just as much as it goes on longer...my Art Center portfolio is coming together kinda...

The Assasin's Creed project is continuing forward fairly well...for those of you who don't know, I'm working with the Duo Group on a future animation based off of Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed. They've done a lot of sweet stuff in the past as well as just recently. Be sure to check out their Metal Gear Solid short. [link]

The self portrait mission is going pretty well too...once December is over I'm going to compile them into a smaller image so you can see all 31 from this month...and then I'll just keep going.

I think it's about time I update this journal of mine.
Today at 4:50PM marks the beginning of my Thanksgiving break and I am SO SO SO glad. It's going to be too short. It's going to be busy as hell. Aaaaaaaand it might not be relaxing in any way, but it'll still be fun.

I've attained a sort of new drive and direction with my art that's going to be pushing be straight through this Christmas break. I want to go to Art Center College of Design. Problem is, I can't afford that. So my portfolio has to be just that kick-awesome. The past month has been me accumulating information and phone numbers of people and things like that, making contacts, getting information, talking to students, all that stuff. I know I've got my sights set high, but who's to tell me what I can't do? Besides myself, of course.

I think you can count on seeing me as a more active poster here on DA. I've been getting a lot of comments from people about how I'm so unknown here on DA, I realize that there are certain "markets" here on DA that you can appeal to to gain a following...I'm not sure I want to do that, but I am a firm believer in self promotion. I feel that the only reason why I don't have more watchers, more favorites, more pageviews,or whatever your gauge of success is, is simply because I don't try hard enough. I guess I'll see how things progress as I try to become more active...I'm curious to try out some promotional experiments. Ultimately, as artists, we're all trying to "sell" our work to others, either in just getting them to view it, or actually for profit. So ultimately, to be really successful, you have to be able to advertise yourself to others. I'm looking forward to learning how to market myself better to others.
I hope this doesn't end up sounding like some big selfish endeavor, but I think we'll all find that eventually, we all have to find a way to make ourselves known, or else we just won't get anywhere. I'm so envious of those that just seem to do it naturally.

eth.

I'm-a keep thinking about that for a while.

----
COMMISSIONS.
If anybody wants to commission me for either just a sketch or a full digital painting, just drop me a note.
I like to think that I'm pretty versatile, but I work in my own style and I think I tend to take some artistic liberties because of that. Anyways.
I'm pretty negotiable with prices, also.

Digital paintings start at roughly $30 and can vary based on complexity of subject matter and type of piece you want done!

Thanks guys!

eth.

I just wanted to kind of show that off to you guys because it's a neat way for you to find other artists that are into steam punk, if that appeals to you, or if nothing else, just see some good art.

Definitely check out the website, you're in for a treat.
I'm really pleased with myself for the amount of work I've been able to put into my art this week. I hope to do some more paintings before the end of the week, at least one tomorrow. I've really been in the mood since I explored a bit more of Painter X yesterday. Now my painting can be a bit more of a gestural quality, similar to my sketches, but I can still refine it and add detail where I want. I'm beginning to really, really enjoy digital painting. Which is a great thing.
And because of all of this, special Props to *algenpfleger He's a great artist and a highly motivated one also.
