Reflecting on last year:

The biggest thing that I felt went right was finally getting to a perfect stride in stripping away detail and realism to get back to much simpler details with art. It was a real backwards trip working on that for the last two years, but I think as 2012 came to an end, I can look back and be happy where it left me.

I installed the trial for CS5 to play around with in preparation for a new Cintiq coming soon, I spent a bit of time today dicking around in a much, much newer version of Photoshop, then when I went back to 7.0 to actually work, I got  nasty surprise.

CS5 overwrote all of my color profiles, brush settings, and shortcuts for 7.0. Lovely.

A system restore did not fix this, and other than a screen shot of one brush setting, I'm sort of SOL with resetting any of this.

Let this be a warning to anyone here who might try the same! I am also STILL without power. I have been promised that 99% of my town will be back online by Friday at Midnight. I stopped being hopeful, and now think I'll be in that 1% that's going to be out until Sunday.

The Jackalope would be considered a 'new' myth by most standards, not having grown up from the ancient cultures like many others featured here. While European mythos contains other variations on horned hares, the American introduction of the Jackalope can be attributed to a certain Douglas Herrick. After a hunting trip, he pieced together a taxidermy jackrabbit with spare deer horns, creating the familiar critter we know today.
