During the first week of the month, I took my fourteen year old car to VIP in Presque Isle to get its yearly inspection. Just like last year, VIP failed it and I had to pay to get it fixed. Originally the total cost to defog one headlight and to replace the [u]perfectly good[/u] brake lines with new ones was to cost me $245. Well, after they slashed the brake lines, they had a [i]little[/i] problem reattaching them. Add one more hour of labor and I ended up giving them crooks ~$350. A new record! They still wouldn't pass it because, get this, my rocker panels were rusty. Uh, hello, it's an old car in a state that salts its roads during the winter. Of course there's going to be rust. To make matters worse, VIP wouldn't do the work. I asked my college roommate, a NASCAR fan and all-around car expert about what I should do, and he told me about a place that would do the inspection in less than an hour and probably look past the cosmetics. The results of which I'll get to later in this diatribe.

In the same week, I noticed my glasses starting to feel loose again. I had them fixed while I was working in Bangor over the summer, so they shouldn't be doing that kind of crap. I thought I fixed the problem, put them back on my face, and they instantly broke. The piece that holds the glasses onto my right ear snapped off at the base and I couldn't tape them or superglue them back on. I wasted three bottles of superglue trying to fix them and ended up leaving superglue residue on one of the lenses as well as bits of my thumbflesh on the frames.

Due to not wanting to put up with a lot of BS for being swindled from the family, I went down to Bangor and spent the week I had off with my grandmother, one of the most awesome people I know. She helped me out with my problems by helping me pay for new glasses (the old ones were too destroyed to salvage) and some bondo for my car. I was thankful for that, seeing how VIP practically wiped me out for money. I also spent a few nights with my brother over at NESCOM and played Pokemon Battle Revolution and Spore for the first time. I was quite impressed with the school in general and it seemed so much better than the purgatory that EMCC was.

After my vacation was over, I had a new pair of glasses and the bodywork of my car done, with huge thanks to my dad who did an awesome job on it. I took the car to get it inspected last Wednesday and it passed with no fuss and no extra fees.

Halloween as a whole really sucked too. The day before, I went to a dance dressed as a whoopee cushion and won fourth place for best costume. I lost to a plug-and-socket couple, a girl dressed as a game of Twister, and somebody who dressed up as Optimus Prime. I was not impressed because it was judged on the amount of applause each person got and I figured I had it won since most of the crowd were my "friends". Nope they all turned traitor on me. The next day I wore my costume to my two classes and to my College Dems meeting. In hindsight I probably shouldn't have. I couldn't keep a straight face throughout class because the thought of an anthromorphic whoopee cushion talking in Russian got me giggling. That and hardly anybody else on campus dressed up. Ugh!

And finally on my mope train, I think I'm going to drop my Medieval European history class because I didn't do so hot on my last test and I haven't started on my final project which is due in like three weeks.

My Spring 2009 schedule looks pretty good though. I have United States Environmental History, Modern Russian History (Khruschev through Putin), French History and Politics, Elementary Russian II, and Honors Seminar: Genocide and the Holocaust. The environmental history replaces the Ancient Egyptian history I wanted to take, but oh well. If I didn't replace it, I'd be at UMPI until Spring '10 instead of Fall of '09.

I'm back into the thick of things at UMPI. I returned as not only a senior, but also as a member of the Owls cross-country team. Finally, since my pee-wee basketball days and after three or four lung collapses, I was going to be an athlete again. Well that dream came to an end yesterday. I quit the team. Why?

My right ankle is strained and I have a bone spur on the same ankle. Walking around, I find that I'm limping around. Stairs became my worst enemy. I landed wrong off a stair one morning, and it felt like I got my foot chopped off for the rest of the day. Because of this injury, I missed several daily runs and several 6:45 am workouts because of the pain. I told my coach the other day that I was quitting and he took it with some slight regret. I was doing pretty well too, having run 1500 m in 7 minutes and 39 seconds. But I couldn't afford to make my injury worse. Now I'm taking it easy, hopefully I'll be healed by my birthday on the 26th.

My classes are going pretty well. I've always wanted a semester filled with history and poli sci classes and this fall semester is my first. I have two Russian, a Chinese, and a Medieval European history class. My other class is introductory Russian. My semester kicks major ass.

I went and got a DS two weeks ago and have been playing Pokemon Diamond every spare chance I get. I already have 7 badges but my team only has four Pokemon in it. This always happens in every Pokemon game I've played, I get to the end of the game with only three or four Pokemon in my team. Not to mention that I can't get any of my favorite Pokemon (Weezing, Exeggutor, and Shiftry) until I beat the Elite 4. Good thing I haven't tried to battle anyone because my team consisted of all half-Flying types until the Fighting Gym. Now my post-Icicle Badge team consists of a Poison/Flying, a Poison/Dark, a Water/Poison, and a Steel/Psychic Pokemon.

Because my internet kept crapping out (it's sending packets but not receiving them sometimes) , I had time to do some pretty technical writing. I'm also debating on whether or not to post a paper I wrote for my Advanced College Comp class about the War on Terrorism. See, I was originally going to have it published in UMPI's English Department's journal-thingy but my teacher didn't get me the contact info. It's pretty interesting stuff and really factual.

Yes, ladies and gentleman, I'm a freakin' MALL JANITOR! I'm working over there on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 4 in the afternoon to 12:30 in the morning. I get paid $8.00 an hour and only work 24 hours a week. Not only that but I'm paid every Friday and so far, my only paycheck's been around $175. If that continues, oh boy. This summer's going to rock.

Monetarily my priorities are to get my glasses either fixed or find a method to have them destroyed forever. I was going to send my laptop to Dhell but after talking to several friends and family, I've decided to stick with it. Not to mention that today (6/29/08) my video card fixed itself. I want to get myself a gaming PC for my birthday so I will be ready for Spore goodness.

It's not like I'm losing out on anything because my video card died. It seems to me that nobody I know plays computer games anymore. I'd get on Xfire and nobody would ever be online. I don't know if it's because everybody's busy with school (yeah right) or what, but I kinda feel like buying a Wii, since that seems to be the popular thing right now.

I'm plugging away at DisOriented Visions and other stories I was in the process of writing. I wish I had more time to dedicate to cranking out deviations, but I have seven million and one things to do. I have to present in front of a large group of people next Wednesday, finish two papers that are a month late, organize my Lifelong Wellness portfolio (done), write a 10+ page paper (done), take a test in Marxism (not so hard, it was about the Paris Commune and Louis Bonaparte) (done), going to the school dance and one being held for teaching cert students (I'm not one; but I'm friends with some who are), and sign up for fall classes (done).

Unless I can float a deal where I can stay on campus during the summer or convince the prof to teach both classes over ITV, I'll have to drive from Houlton to Presque Isle every Tuesday and Thursday. I'm lucky in that my car is great on gas; it can make 4 back-and-forth trips from Houlton to Presque Isle before it runs out of gas. That's two weeks, half a month. I feel confident I can pull it off. If I had a summer job, I'd be 100% positive.

UPDATE (9:30 pm): I was talking to my brother on the phone earlier tonight and he suggested I go into safe mode and remove my video card drivers. I did and the problem disappeared. Thanks again, bro.

I wanted to work on DisOriented Visions and some other projects last weekend but I ended up at my dad's house in East without the power cord to the laptop. Turns out I left it plugged in at the house in Houlton along with my headphones. I spent all weekend playing Dragon Warrior Monsters 2 on my GBA with less than 50% battery power instead. I managed to get the second monster for my "dream team" but I managed to forget what I wanted to write for DV. I was also writing a Christmas story for the past few weeks but I'm stuck at the middle.

My final semester grades were pretty good as well. 2 A's, an A-, a B+, and a B-.

I was indecisive for a week about what history course to take: either 370 (Africa) or 375 (Maine). African History is the biggest black hole in my history knowledge so I really should take it. But c'mon, who cares about Africa? I should be a patriot and take Maine History. I was going to bring it up with my adviser, but she mentioned to me that the Maine History class (she teaches it BTW) has to do a local project for Fort Fairfield. Uh no way, if it were East Millinocket or Medway than maybe I'd think about it. Besides it's a course required for a new minor they're putting together: Local History. Screw that, my minor/cert is in Russian and East European Studies (or Russian/Soviet Studies for short).

I also dodged a bullet for HPR 101L. If I hadn't looked at the course catalog again, I'd be stuck in the one section of Lifelong Wellness Lab affectionately known as the Swim Lab. Now before you chastise me because I turned down a swimming class, I want to let you know that I'm not a good swimmer. That and it was at 2 in the afternoon. With my schedule right now, I'd have most of Friday off. Good for trips home for long weekends/vacations. Now if I can only get Friday off from work...

I also found out from the head of the Russian department that it may take me a little longer to get the certificate than it would for me to get my BA in International Studies. He also told me that most people who take Russian Studies as a minor are Political Science majors so he knows more about post graduate plans for them than for us History majors.

Fall Break is next week so on Friday after 9:00 pm I've got no school or work for a week. I get my second work-study check tomorrow and I already know how much it'll be: $197. Plus, for those of you who follow the WWE, John Cena, the WWE champion, is out with an injury so he has to forfeit the title he's held since September of last year. About damn time, I said. I hope they have Mr. Kennedy win it at No Mercy.

UPDATE: 10/5: The 'kaa' is all taken care of. It ended up costing me less. Like only $303! It only took from 1:00 to 4:00 pm to get it fixed. Now it purrs like a champ. Mwah!

Since my work for Physical Plant Operations involves the gym on-campus, I've taken the opportunity to utilize the weight room when I have extra time left before 9pm. I've noticed a lot of improvement already and it's only been three weeks. I've gained around 10 pounds and have noticed I'm not as worn out as I usually am. This works for me in two ways: one, its a boost to my self-image and helps me to recover from previous health problems that I've used as a crutch for five years, and two, it's also my final project for my Wellness class. The final involves setting three goals for the end of the semester. My three were going to the gym more often (pretty much done), drinking less soda (failing miserably), and taking time for myself (this is just a filler, this was just in case the other two fell through).

I was reading over the class requirements for Elementary Education and noted that I'd have to take three PRAXIS I tests and submit a portfolio of all my major classwork for several classes I've taken in order to take Student Teaching (EDU 493). Those three tests will cost me around $180! Since 90% of the classes for my "portfolio" were taken at Eastern Maine Community College, I should have a leg-up on other students. Well, I neglected to keep any of the paperwork from those classes, so I'd have to work very hard to get caught up. Not anymore!

No longer will I have to save up $200 to take tests nor build a portfolio. And the biggest, coolest thing of all: I can still teach with a BA in International Studies - History, and I'm not limited to just elementary school students.

I've always been a history geek. I was two-time school level winner of the National Geography Bee in elementary school and I used to be heavily interested in Ancient Egyptian culture since I knew how to read. I'd be watching Jeopardy! and whenever a history category came up, I'd know almost all of them. This is gonna be good!

UPDATE (9/10): I met with my new adviser today and found out that other than 1 or 2 electives, my next semester will be history-filled, just like I wanted. I also talked to the head of the Russian and Eastern European Studies department and I'm considering getting a certificate in Russian and Eastern European Studies as well.

I bought and finished reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. It's the best book in the entire series, hands down, and my personal favorite (next to Order of the Phoenix and the Goblet of Fire) . The night I bought it, I stayed up until 2 am reading it. I won't spoil it for you guys, but it's nice to be able to continue living knowing how the Harry Potter series ends.

Marvel: Ultimate Alliance-wise, I've been using the team of Mister Fantastic, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Spider-Man (The Think Tanks, according to the game)as opposed to the Fantastic Four like I used to use. I have "Gold'd" all the simulator disks up to Luke Cage's in Murderworld so so far I have all of Mister Fantastic's and all of Wolverine's costumes. Obsessed, much?

I've been going to the movies quite a bit. I've seen Grindhouse and Spider-man 3. I enjoyed the "b-movie" feel of Grindhouse as well as seeing the previews of other movies like "Thanksgiving", "Machete", and "Don't" and the use of a rifle as an artificial leg. Of the two movies that make up Grindhouse, I liked Death Proof better than Planet Terror. I've grown up watching horror flicks, zombie movies, and "massive outbreak of disease" movies so Planet Terror was nothing new for me, other than seeing a guy obsessed with balls, the previously mentioned rifle leg, and seeing Quentin Tarentino mutating. I've never seen any movies involving cars other than "Joy Ride" so I found Death Proof a lot more interesting. I liked Kurt Russell's Stuntman Mike character, he was a total badass. Plus I like hearing Rosario Dawson talking dirty and the stuff that her friends would say and do.

Spider-man 3 was pretty disappointing. Although I enjoyed the stuntwork of the New Goblin, he seemed to have been turned from a psychopath like his father into an extreme skateboarder wearing paintball gear. The Sandman, who I thought was the best-done villain in the movie, had an excellent introduction but as the movie progressed, he was placed on the back burner to give the fanboys their Venom fix. Venom was VERY poorly done. Most of the time, Venom was Topher Grace unmasked and looking like the "prehistoric bitch" from Ghostbusters. The rest of the movie was basically a love triangle between Parker, Watson, and Stacy. I was rooting for Gwen (I'm a huge fan of the work that Bryce Dallas Howard does) because I think that Kirsten Dunst isn't a very good actress. Plus she's way hotter than Kirsten Dunst.

Yesterday, I rewarded my hard work and persistence by buying myself an Xbox. I consider it a graduation gift for myself. I had it modded so I can play with my emulators and whatnot on it. I left the modding in the hands of ~GreenDazed while I went to a banquet for the seniors. Because it was off-campus, they had a cash bar, so by 9 pm when the dancing (my favorite part of the evening, besides awards) began, everybody but me were drunk off their asses. I drank nothing but apple cider and water.

I graduate next Saturday from EMCC. I've met some great people, both students and faculty, in my two years there and done a lot of things I've never done before. I went there in the fall of 2005 as a student with a sub 1.0 GPA with no idea about what I wanted to do. Two years later, I'm graduating with a three-point-something GPA, Four-Star level Phi Theta Kappa officer/member, one of three co-founders of an on-campus peer mentoring group, and I have a good idea what I want to do. I'm going on to University of Maine in Presque Isle for a BS in Elementary Education with either a concentration in Special Education or Science Education and a minor in Sociology or History.

Recently, got tagged to do this stupid chain e-mail type thing where he had to describe "6 Weird Habits/Things About Yourself". Like him, I detest getting these. I stopped trusting these viral messages after one an ex sent me that said if I mailed some stupid crap to 10 people in 10 minutes, an animation would load showing Ronald McDonald beating the crap out of Tweety Bird with a mallet. It never materialized. It gets no better when everyone started using the "press alt-f4 to see your crush's name" bulletin from emo haven Myspace. See, some people are computer-illiterate and don't know that pressing ALT and F4 closes the current window. So unless your significant other's name is written on your desktop, this will never work. It's people like that that ruined Myspace for everyone and make me want to purge my Myspace and never go near it again. Keep this chain mail crap on Myspace, people!

Anywho, here's my six:

1. I bite my fingernails as well as the flesh around the nail. Because my fingernails hardly grow, I used to make fingernails out of paper clips and scotch tape.

2. I whistle and/or hum while doing written work. The students in my fourth grade classes used to complain, as did the teacher. I still do it though, and sometimes I'm not even aware of it.

3. In my writing, I make references to people and events that I have encountered in my life. Think of it as like Kevin Smith making frequent references to Star Wars in his View Askewniverse movies, except that I don't make constant references to just one thing.

4. When I am forced to drink canned soda, I always grab more than one can of soda. One weekend at college, I literally had three cans of soda lined up beside my computer. As one was finished, another took its place. I ended up drinking 10 cans of soda in one day. Maybe I'm a caffeine addict or something.

5. I tend to put too much salt on my food. I should be extremely careful doing this for too long; my mother's side of the family has a history of heart problems. It's pretty bad when I clean my plate and it looks like Christmas in my plate and my tongue and roof of my mouth burn.

6. I tend to use previous health problems as a crutch so I don't have to do things I don't want to do. I have had three spontaneous pneumothoraces (1 severe, two not so) and one (documented) vasovagal syncope within the last five years and I tend to use the fact that I might have a relapse as an excuse to not do chores/go outside/etc.

The only problems living in Houlton are that it now takes TWICE as long to get to Bangor and EMCC now and the goddamned Pizza Hut, which is about 5 minutes from the house, DOESN'T DELIVER!

On the creative side of things:

I wrote two and a half pages of DV on Christmas morning until 2:30 am. The story has reached the 60 page milestone, only forty more until 100.

I'm working on several projects at once including drawing all 120 out of the 212 original characters I've come up with, working on the "Ruby Red World Tour" RPG in RPG Maker 2000, and coming up with character designs and storyline ideas for a "manga" about my favorite kind of horror movie monster: the jiangshi, or hopping corpse.

It's not that I'm not trying, it seems to me that I lack the competence to fill out a simple job application. It also doesn't help that I have no previous work experience and thus have no references. Ironically you need experience to get a job, yet how is anyone supposed to get a job when no one will hire inexperienced workers? Ain't capitalism a kick?

To also increase my spiral into deep depression, my 21st birthday is days away and I have no freaking eyed clue what I want to do.

On the positive side of things, my classes are going really well. My brother fixed my laptop's monitor so it works now. Thanks muchly! Poker, which is almost a nightly ritual, can be described as playing cards with three guys (my roommate, our former roommate, and his friend/ new roommate) where, let's put it this way: we don't need any beer to have a good time. Hell maybe I should write a little something about our poker games...

One night, me and my roommate came up with an idea for a story involving genetic experimentation in order to create the perfect child. He's writing a version and I'm writing a version (of which I'll post here, maybe, with the second guy's name on it too). The other details of the story are between us (and saved on my computer), but since I'm taking child development and anatomy and physiology this semester, it should be very easy to write.

My summer classes will be over in about two weeks so I'm happy about that. Then in another two weeks it's back to old Room 100A at Acadia Hall at EMCC. Me and one of my rommates from last year reserved the room back in April; the other roommate is moving across the hall with a buddy of his that used to play poker with us. The new guy (or 'squid' as my roommate will call him) is supposed to be a freshman so he'll get to the room a day before we do.

One final thing:

I finally got my driver's license today (August 1, 2006) after my fourth try. Now all I need is a car...

On July 18, 2003, Mikhalangelo "Slim Oracle" Velleous became an original character. He's been a recurring character for almost three years now. Over the years, he's evolved from a psychic assassin with a ruby red revolver and a samurai warrior with zero magic to a master manipulator of reality and afflictions and the Duke of Disorientation (just came up with that ).

He's to me what Charlie Brown was to Charles Schultz, what Batman was to Bob Kane, what Lunary and the Posers are to ; and most definitely what Rick Cressen is to and the legendary Cheddar Paladin Mattu! is to . Slim Oracle is not only one of my RL aliases, he's a character I can adapt to any situation, a chameleon of chaos if you will. I try to include some kind of reference to him in every story I write.

In celebration of the concievement of Slim Oracle, I've got a list of some projects I've been working on:

P.S. This is the first year I've haven't missed Slim's inception date, so that's why I'm doing it this year. Plus, I got inspiration from a post on 's forum MMFCA where he said that his character has been around for almost six years. That's quite a long run for a character.

Last Thursday was my college's Tech Day. Instead of going to classes, the school threw a huge party. They had a barbecue, an obstacle course, a moonbounce tent, cotton candy, doughboys, and karaoke. Only three groups actually did karaoke. One group was these four women who were my roommate's bosses at the Enrollment Center that couldn't sing "Addicted to Love" in tune at all, the other were the lunch ladies who sang "I Like that Old Time Rock and Roll" pretty well, and the the third and final group was me and me alone singing "Basket Case" pretty well considering it was only me up there. I must've done well because that's all anyone talked about the next day, girls especially.

Then on Saturday, I went on a day trip with some other students to Boston. I ended up spending most of my money on lunch and supper ($1.75 for a Coke sux). I nearly got lost because I couldn't find the damn McDonald's I wanted to eat at andbecausae the traffic was so awful. I checked out Chinatown on the joke that I was going to look there for a sakkat, but couldn't find one. I was also nervous because I was the only white guy in the whole district and I was afraid they'd say "You're not allowed in here!" When we were leaving Boston on the bus, two guys in the back were talking about their trip over to Hooters and some other bars in the area, even though we weren't allowed to buy alcohol on the trip.

I feel this will be quite long. You'll probably not understand half of what I'm about to tell you, but maybe the DV-style *#'s will help you...

Spring Cleaning is a consistent theme in April, giving most people an excuse to get off their asses to spruce things up. However, my spring cleaning for 2006 is to convert all my Notepad documents to WordPad. (I'm sorry, you were right, I was stupid...)
You see, while I was typing bios for my characters one night, I decided to turn on Notepad's Word Wrap function so the text wouldn't repeat all on one line and so I could type away without having to look up on the monitor to see whether I had to press Enter or not. Unfortunately, Word Wrap was enabled for EVERY NotePad document in my RRS*1 folder and this caused all the indentations and lines to get screwed up. So three of my character lists and fourteen related documents are now all fudged up. So far, I've compiled a new character list (even though I said that Crush*2 was the last one). The new list isn't in alphabetical order like I originally stated in "March is National Neronix Month", it is instead the combination of Sporadic Version, Nucleotide Version, and Canalian Crush Version*3 aptly named the Mnemonic Version.
The Mnemonic Version of the character list brings back EVERY character I had originally removed because of lack of interest minus the Geometric Slimes except Triangle Slime. I will post the new list TONIGHT! (for sure!)

PROJECTS
My Characters - See above. (UPDATE: Due to the fact that all that crap I wrote above is kinda confusing, I'll post several of the RRS docs into Scraps withing the next few days.)

DisOriented Visions - Working on Part 4, Chapter 4. Partially inspired by a comment written by ~GreenDazed, the next journals will not feature the damned "Official DV Status Box" for it's made me realize that all it was doing, besides giving me bragging rights for the longest story of those of us that are writing about our characters, was SEVERLY cramping my writing.

The Historacle - Yes, I've been writing this quite a bit. The idea behind the Historacle is to give the reader a history of the realms my characters occupy. It's going pretty well, I'm almost to the part where the Canalian Neophytian Conflict occurs (as well as a similar part in DV )

For some weird reason, since like March 4, all I've been drawing for pics are those of a character that's listed in my Deviant Information as my favorite cartoon character. No, it's not Kim Possible.

Yeah, that's right. I've been drawing "he who is called Neronix "Nix" Spanner" . I figure that Slim Oracle has been drawn so many damn times that I could draw him in my sleep. So I figured I move onto another character, and who better than Slim Oracle's canonical right-hand man, the Neophyte techno weenie and Green Phoenix's gun wielder.

Coincidentally, it happens to be March and we all know that March's official (???) color is green a la St. Patrick, and Neronix happens to wear a green trenchcoat. Besides, that red hair makes him a dead ringer for the Irish look (no I didn't do this on purpose), so why the hell not.

I have a computer-drawn pic of Neronix that I could put on here so everyone will know kind of how he's supposed to look, so maybe I can stop asking for people to draw Slim Oracle everytime I nail a kiriban...

Had a little scare at the beginning of the month involving my online class. My blogger account crapped out on me and I couldn't recover what I had written. The teacher, whom I still haven't met in person, sent a snail mail notice to my house and an e-mail saying I had until Sunday to get caught up or he'd drop me from the class. Needless to say, that dampened the week for me. I spent all of yesterday afternoon after Oral Communications doing all the propmpts and themes that I couldn't do because of blogger. I'm now caught up apparently because the prof e-mailed me and it was all good.

Maybe he already told you, but I went to a poetry reading at Borders in Bangor last Tuesday and heard / read some poetry live. I even got to talk to whom I haven't seen/heard from in awhile. The other 10 poets read some pretty serious stuff, and it was alright, but nothing could beat hearing these old guys laugh at the random observations of the Man in a Box. It was a wonderful litttle event, and I kinda wish they'd do a Prose Night so yours truly could get up and read what I've written. (And no, I won't read DisOriented Visions because: a. it's way too long and b. it's not finished.)

On the subject of prose, I finally have an idea for a story. It involves a funny occurence that happened to me and my roommates one night. My roommates have already seen what I've written so far and it sounds pretty good to them.

My Characters - I swear to God I'll never be fully finished with this. Just last week, I added FIVE new characters to the list which is now the 3rd version of the list, bringing the grand total of OCs to 117! I've written a few more bios, nothing special. I've done a few more un-deviation worthy texts involving a rating system of a character's statistics like attack, defense, speed, and intelligence; a revamp of Slim Oracle's Timetripper abilities (again!) bringing the total of those to 5; and a rundown of how many characters are certain species, certain genders, close to the average height/weight. Perhaps I should have a screenshot of all these documents or something, and then maybe you'll see why I've spent two years doing this...

Character Pics: The Chlinx and ?????? - Now that I have Photoshop back on my laptop, I've done the lineart for two female characters: The Chlinx (yeah, I've decided to make it female) and a surprise for the second one. It isn't Kylie or Nya and that's all I'll say...

Christmas was pretty good. I got clothes from Old Navy, like 8 new DVDs, some new CDs (Madonna's latest one, t.A.T.u's latest one, and No Doubt's Rock Steady and The Singles 1992-2003), two poker sets, money, candy (PEZ for the win! ), and Half Life 2.

The reason for the whole "Howard" thing is because I found out recently that I made it onto the Dean's List for Eastern Maine Community College and Howard Dean is kind of an inside joke between me and my friends. Anywho, I'm extremely overjoyed from that news and I hope I'll be able to continue with my success. I figure since I did so well even while I puttered around with DisOriented Visions, I'm going to continue to post chapters of it whenever I get a chance.

Yeah, I know it said December 3 for Part 3, Chapter 2 but I've been a little busy lately what with classes being done in 13 days, only 6 of which I actually have to attend class on and all the projects and one essay to write. When I have free time, like probably next week, I'll submit DV 3-2. After that, there will be NO MORE of DV until January 2006.

Characters-wise I've done something to them, YET AGAIN. 196+ is too much to keep track of, so I spent 6 and a half hours today whittling the list from 196 to...112! I got rid of all the pre Banes forms of Jikmondig (pronounced JICK-mon-dig or YICK-mon-dig) and Kraknak (crack-nack) the Devourer, but I left Aubstanprof (OB-stan-prof) alone because he's technically his own character independent of Aubstandraco (OB-stan-dray-ko). I kept all the Green Phoenix Factioners, which to refresh are Slim Oracle, Slash Dafter(?), Nix, Rory, Kylie, and Chan.
When I was first writing down all the characters, I wrote down EVERY SINGLE ONE that came to mind, even if the character was made before 1998. I could go on forever describing why each character was axed, hell maybe I could do a deviation of it.

Prose-wise, I've had a writer's block since Halloween. I saw recently that there's a contest involving a Christmas story/poem. I so want to do this, but the ideas aren't coming to me.

My Characters - 190 bios to write, only 40 have all stats filled in minus bios, which are bitches to write. (and yes, Slim Oracle is one of them.) To compound matters, I decided to mess with the numbering system and convert all height and weight measurements to metric. Am I insane? The numbering jumble was to eliminate whole sections of the list where there'd be 6 or 7 characters that were all in the same organization. Green Phoenix Faction wasn't the problem, its members were characters #003, #005, #006, #106, #107, and #108 in the old listing.

Random Proses - I've got a couple of ideas...

TOoTB Sp. Edition - I looked back at Origin of the Banes and saw how stupid it was written. It was also filled with so many inconsistent details that it makes certain other proses based on my characters, namely DV, even harder to write because I always have to see if it fits in with the story of Origins. I also wanted to change certain things, such as where the Banes actually came from, their transformations into physical beings from phantasms, and what the Banes look like. Plus I think Spectromanzig, Mr. Omega God, shouldn't be an It(a la Stephen King) knockoff and should be divided into False Spectromanzig (the gelatenous cube with a demonic face) and True Spectromanzig (aka Omega Oblivion?!) instead.

DisOriented Visions - This story chronicles the adventures of my RP character Slim Oracle tracing his origins from his magic training in an isolated temple where he escaped an execution squad sent to kill all necromancers on sight and his adventures afterwards, including meeting up with the other members of the GPF and becoming Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Slimoa. The rest of the plot is a closely kept secret...

I'm debating on whether to place this up in parts (the way I wrote it) or whether to send the entire story to any interested readers through dA note, AIM, or putting it on my Geocities site.

On Smackdown vs Raw, I finished my first season as the World Heavyweight Champion (). Now in my second season, I just won the Royal Rumble (again) so I get a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship I lost to Kane in an Elimination Chamber match at one of the PPVs.

I've done a lot of drawings and tried to scan them, it turns out the scanner in the college library WASN'T EVEN INSTALLED. My drawings are nowhere near the greatness of , , , or , but it isn't that bad. I wish you guys could see them.

College is going pretty well. I've met some real nice people, some of who invited me to go driving around downtown Waterville at 1:00 in the morning. It's gonna be awhile until we go again because the guy who was driving got pulled over TWICE for a broken taillight. The same person also offered to take me clubbing.

As for deviations, I'm coming up with many ideas for stories and I'm drawing pictures all the freakin' time rather than playing RO. Who knew you could get ideas from psychology class? I didn't.

MAJOR UPDATE: I now have access to a scanner, so I'm going to try to upload some of my nondigital art when I get back to college on Sunday night.

On the subject of Huck: He's either going to be a gelatenous [sp?] blob, a turtle, a rather large ridable chameleon that resembles Stealth Sneak from Kingdom Hearts, or a hunger-inspired monster from Morrowind. I can't decide.

I'm in a pretty good mood, although school resumes tomorrow. I did some more on my driver's permit (im only about 8 hours from being able to send in for my license.) and bought a sketch pad. I've only drawn one picture in it, but due to not having a scanner I can't put it on here. I had drawn my DisOrient character again but its head came out all screwy. I have written the first two chapters of my character's story and I wondered if anyone would read it if I post it.
(shameless plug I know)

I also got a letter from UMO (U. of Maine Orono for those unfamiliar with it.) saying I've been accepted into their New Media program. I'm so happy! I'm still waiting to hear from Thomas College, but they send me enough frigging catalogs and crap that I'm pretty sure I'm in.
