I'll be leaving everything up for posterity, but don't expect replies.

Here are the rules: The 1st player of this "game" starts with the topic "6 weird habits/things about yourself" and people who get tagged need to write a journal about their 6 weird habits/things as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next 6 people to be tagged and list their names. Don't forget to leave a comment that says "you are tagged" in their devpage comments and tell them to read yours. blah blah blah

My 6 weird habits/things about me:

1. I pace. Everywhere. It's just what I do if I'm standing up and there's room.

2. When thinking, I do things like bounce my leg, scratch my head, pick at the corner of a paper, and stare off into space.

3. I collect video games, mainly RPGs and fighting games. My collection is currently at about 155 games, 8 systems, and is valued at over $5,500. I have vowed to collect at least 3,000 games.

4. On any given day, I watch an average of 5 episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I usually watch them while drawing or washing dishes or some other tedious task, but I do watch me a lot of Star Trek.

5. Even when my room is clean, it is hopelessly disorganzied. Organization AND cleanliness, at the same time, is out of my grasp. I have too much stuff.

6. I want to be a belly dancer.

Do this if you want to!

I just deleted a TON of my art. DAMN that felt good.

I'm trying to do more "complete" pieces. Looking back on my gallery I just saw way too many bits of art that weren't finished, were overly sloppy, or that I simply wasn't happy with.

So...

yeah...

PS: Hey, here's an idea. Take a few minutes of your time on dA to poke around the recently-submitted section. Find some pieces that catch your eye and give them some comments. Maybe even a fave if you like their stuff. dA has become a breeding ground for popular artists, and there are these cool people who are here trying to improve and are really talented, yet get NO attention.

So brighten someone's day. Who knows? Maybe you'll discover the next "cool artist" before anyone else.

After all, dA is supposed to be about the community.

Parentheses are like my new thing now, I totally dig them.

Also I've been making like fifty times the normal amount of journal entries for me. That's because I've been paying more attention to the Internets and dA in general.

Okay, so, I hate the way dA handles art thieves. I fucking despise it. I reported a girl that CLEARLY ripped off a Japanese artist (though she did go to the trouble of trying to alter it a little), and a week later I go back to her page out of curiousity. Well, the art is gone, so that's good, but she's NOT BANNED. And I never even got a reply from a mod. Jesus, whoever read my complaint and actually did something about it couldn't take five extra seconds to say 'thanks for the heads up.' or whatever. I guess that's just too difficult.

But really, the main issue here is that the artist didn't really get PUNISHED. She's an art thief! For all I know, there are other pieces of work she has on her page that are not hers. I just happened to recognize one. Art thieves need to be banned, forever. I don't care if it's a first offense or anything, get them the fuck away from other people.

Actually, I think a great way to discourage art thieves is to let them keep their account open, but go Gen[M]ay on their asses and tard it up. Like bog it down with fifty ads and insert a bunch of animated gifs and label it with "I'M AN ART THIEF LOLOLOL" That would be so awesome.

So while I was randomly poking around dA, I stumbled across a self-portrait of an artist. I'm actually going to ignore the fact that she drew herself as a My Little Pony fur, and concentrate on the fact that she drew herself in the process of working in Photoshop on her art with a huge smile on her face. Snout. Muzzle. Fuck, whatever.

Someone commented and said something like, "I love that expression, it has an artist at work quality."

I double-checked to make sure. Yeah, she was smiling and sitting up perfectly straight.

Now, er, usually when I'm working in PS, my expression tends to run more along the lines of GRAGH FUCK YOU STUPID ART, I HATE YOU, WHY DO I HAVE TO DO THIS (interrupted by some soft weeping in the corner when the glow of the computer starts to hurt my eyes) AGH NO I TAKE IT BACK I LOVE YOU FOR THIS ONE BRIEF MOMENT (then I usually fuck up) NO WAIT HATE YOU EVEN MORE NOW. Also, I tend to slouch when 'shopping. I usually have insanely good posture too, but there's just something about the irritating process of painstakingly slaving over one piece of art that gets to my back.

I'm guessing I just need to get a tablet.

So anyway, how was New Year's? Did everyone get drunk and have a lot of fun? I got a PS2 for Christmas, I've been sitting around playing Star Ocean 3...

Actually, it's work drama, and it's more unbelievably weird than funny.

So I work at JCP*nn*y (a department store), selling "fine jewelry." We're a little understaffed for the holidays, so the department manager has been on a hiring frenzy. Other than myself, we've got two new girls - well, one new girl and one new woman. I met them both at a little jewelry meeting that was mandatory for all jewelry new-hires. The older woman, G*** (censored names prevent careless Googling), seemed nice enough. The girl, A***, was really sweet and nice, and had previously worked in the store in the Men's department.

A*** comes to work on the floor first, having completed her training first. She had already been selling jewelry for a few days before the class. G*** comes to work a few days after the meeting, once she has finished her training.

Mum comes to visit me on G***'s first day of selling on the floor. Mum and I chat for a moment, then she leaves and I turn to walk behind the counter. G*** is walking out from behind the counter, so I step aside to let her pass. As she passes she mutters "Back off." I'm very confused by that, and go to my co-worker, W***, and say, "omg, she just told me to back off, wtf?!" We are all quite confused and wonder why G*** would tell me to back off - she doesn't even know me.

I and the coworkers chalk it up to G*** having a bad day, or being nervous, or maybe just joking around.

Day two for G*** working on the jewelry floor. The woman who has been working for JCP*enn*y's jewelry store for 12 years, Z***, asks me to show G*** how to display watches in the case and put away watch boxes. I show G*** what to do, doing a couple for her. A customer comes over, asking for help. I go to help the customer, and as I do, G*** says, "You're going to help me with these watches, right?" I affirm that I will.

As I'm helping the customer, one of the women from Special Orders comes up to me. She has a special order that needs to be corrected. I wrap up the sale with the customer, then correct the order, which is time-consuming. Then I take it downstairs so that it may be processed the same day.

When I return, my co-worker/friend, N*****, has arrived and has begun to put out new gemstone jewelry. I stop and put away a couple of pieces of jewelry with her so that I may say hello. At this point, G*** comes over and informs me that she is done putting away her share of watches. Now, G*** says, it's my turn to put away "my share" of watches. I say that I will, and continue putting away the gemstones that I have in my hand. G*** informs me that the watches are just sitting out. I respond, jokingly, that the watches sit out "all the time." G*** seems very disturbed by this and says that she is going to call security about that. I sigh incredulously and inform her, "I was being facetious."

Finishing the gemstones and locking their case, I walk over to the watch counter, and behind it. G*** follows, but remains outside of the counter. I notice that she has stacked all of the watch boxes directly in front of the cash regist, forming a wall. I tell her that we don't want to do that, as it prevents us from using the register if a customer needs something rung up.

G*** becomes somewhat hostile, saying, "I asked you for help several times, and you just ignored me!" When I informed her that I was not ignoring her, I was with a customer and then fixing a special order, she insisted, "No, you weren't working, you were just ignoring me!" She went on to say that because she was new, I was supposed to make myself available to her. I asked her if she had a problem with me or if I had offended her somehow, and she said that I was "being paranoid." When I mentioned what I heard her mutter to me the previous day, she said accusingly, "Now you're just making things up." When I told her that my co-worker W*** had heard her, too, she immediately began talking about how she needed to speak to a manager about "my attitude."

...

So now the job I loved so much has become the job I hate going to. She's been getting extra hours. And my complaints go unheard. Although now it seems like *everyone* in jewelry hates her.

Her new name among us is Bitchface.

So some of you might have noticed that George isn't done. Very good. She isn't. Wah. But rest assured I'm working on her - I've just been bogged down with a lot of random crap popping up all at once.

If anyone's down with giving me a call, I have a cell phone again! Woohoo! It's a very sleek and sexy Motorola RAZR. My number's (650) 223-4430. You all have permission to call me at whatever time you wish. Just don't be surprised if I'm a very grumpy girl at 5am.

Other than that, I'm obsessed with an anime called Monster. I highly recommend it to anyone who's sick of cutesy anime that has heroes under the age of twenty. Crappy summary: highly skilled Japanese neurosurgeon Kenzo Tenma is living in Germany. He's engaged to the hospital director's daughter, has a nicely blooming career, and everything seems to be going well in his life. One night a young boy and his twin sister are brought in - the boy has a gunshot wound in his head. Scant moments later, an important official is brought in with a headwound. Tenma is ordered by his superiors to operate on the official instead of the boy, despite the fact that the boy was first.

Tenma disobeys, and saves the boy's life. The official dies. He is summarily snubbed by the majority of the hospital's staff, he loses his position on the board, and his fiance breaks up with him. Soon after, the director and two other hospital officials are found dead - Tenma is a suspect, but there's no evidence pointing to him.

Nine years later, Dr. Tenma discovers that the young boy he saved has blossomed into a full-fledged monster, a cold-hearted serial killer!

...my summary is so much lamer than the series. But really, watch it, it kicks so much ass. You can go download eps from animesuki.com <3

But dammit, this had BETTER be the last part of this fucking cold, because I have had this thing for about two weeks now and I'm sick of... of... of being sick!

Halloween is coming up, so that makes me really want to start working on tarting up my Alice costume. Hopefully my job won't want me to come in early Nov. 1st - that would completely blow. Mismonster and I are going here: [link] for Halloween. She's going to be a gogo dancer - and no, I don't mean her costume. She's actually getting paid to be a gogo dancer at the club Halloween night. My costume... well, I'm going as a gothic lolita Alice in Wonderland. Hopefully. If I can't get it together in time, it's not like I don't have a ton of weird shit sitting around. I'm sure I could just throw together something.

ARGH, COLD.
In other news, I'm all obsessed with Yuffie now. She's like twenty different forms of cute. I've also been drawing dirty, dirty pictures of her, so maybe the people here on dA will get to see some of that.

Not all of it, though. I could get banned for some of it.

Just watched Saved!, and found it pretty amusing. I should be evil and send my dad a copy. However, I will not, for he sends me money. I like money, it helps pay for my trivial wants like petroline (lolz) and food and clothing and school. Dunno, guess I'm just shallow like that.

I have something to say to all of them: SHUT UP. JUST SHUT THE FUCK UP.

Why is this even an ISSUE? You had to be 17 to even buy the game already. I mean, they bump the rating up by ONE YEAR and everyone goes positively APESHIT.

I'd like to sit here and compare video games to movies, but they're really more than that. I mean, you can't really control the main character in a movie. (Unless you do what I do when the movie is bad, and close your eyes and make the main character do the chicken dance.) You aren't watching a movie for 20-70 hours. About the only similarity between the two is that you can go online and find LOADS of DIRTY DIRTY FANFICTION for both.

Seriously, why are people even arguing like this? This whole situation should play out as follows:

ROCKSTAR: Hey guys, sorry we're late for the party. Look... uh... we screwed up. Sorry.

GAMERS: Yo dawg, that's cool.

GOVERNMENT: We're going to frown sternly in your general direction, while encouraging parents to actually be involved in what their children play.

GAMERS: Yeah, we're still cool. Most of us are sad, sad university students anyways.

ROCKSTAR: Bitchin'! Something still feels wrong...

I am SICK. This is like... sore throat and sniffles and coughs and sneezes type of sick. It SUCKS. I have to drive my mom to the airport too, since she's flying to New York. Whew.

Go figure. I get the house to myself for a few days, and I get to spend it in bed with a cold. Yeesh! On the other hand, I'll probably use the time to have a FF7 marathon. I've been level-whoring so much, my characters are on level 55... and I just reached disc 2. I miss Aerith. Her limit breaks were awesome.

AND UH... in other news, I saw Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, AND Corpse Bride. CatCF was the better of the two films, much to my surprise. One of my biggest disappointments with CB was the music - as I walked out of the theater, I couldn't remember a single one of the tunes. I still can't! Yargh. CatCF was pure blissful magic, though. God help me, I loved that movie just as much as I loved the original. Gene Wilder's and Johnny Depp's Wonkas were so different, I could readily accept them both as accurate portrayals of the character.

Does that make sense?

Anyways, back to being sick.

Okay! So. Things have been going, that they have! I've been talking to some truly wonderful fellow artists as of late. I've also decided to stay on DA, for a few reasons. One? Artists that I like are sticking around. Two? SA doesn't allow adult art. DA is more accepting of this.

I've basically decided to keep my DA account around and update it with my fanart and pr0n, while taking my original stuff and non-pr0n art to SA.

ALSO... I'm working on art. Gotta get the kiriban done for Striker (I worked on it some the other night!), some yaoi for Milly, and an art trade with Empa. Wheeee...
I'm mucking around with an illustration of War from Good Omens, too, but we'll see if that ever comes to fruition.

I'm pretty irritated with DA right now, just because of that smegging disabled search feature. It's NOT "temporary" if it's been disabled for regular users for months and months and months now. If it's become a subscriber-only feature, then they should just SAY SO, none of this "temporarily disabled" crap. We free users now have to put up with more drawbacks and ads and loading times than ever, and it just doesn't seem fair. I've been here for almost two friggin' years now - you'd think that would count for SOMETHING.

All this nonsense makes me want to just pull everything off of DA - it certainly doesn't make me want to subscribe. If they were having financial problems, I'm more inclined to donate some money when simply asked for it. Instead, there's all this new incentive crap, and I don't even think that they need the cash.

Sigh.

Today was, like, mail day for me or something. I got doujinshi, oh yes I did. Four, to be precise. A cute Yuu Yuu Hakusho one, with some Yusuke x Kurama hints was one. An utterly adorable Houshin Engi was another! I love that one. It has things like a chibi Chuu-ou glomping Bunchuu and a Taiitsu wearing a frilly apron that says "Call Me MaMa" on it. Hoo boy.

In addition to those, I got a couple of FF7 doujins. Got Vincent Reader Vol 1! Yay, yay! (So now I have 1 and 2... buahahaha...) Also got a freakishly gorgeous Sephiroth x Cloud doujin called "I Love You" by the circle Pure Heart Club. This doujinshi has the damn sexiest Sephiroth I have ever seen; goes to show me what all you Sephy fangirls out there see in the guy. Also features an outrageously sexy Zax. Mmm, Zax.

Finally, got my fourth copy of Breath of Fire 2. Yes, fourth. I have the game for GBA, Super Famicom, and SNES. This one is my second copy for the SNES; I got it because it's complete. Has the little mail-in cards and everything.

Needless to say, I am a happy child.

The Japanese are so fucking weird.

Okay, so maybe I don't mean the race as a whole. But it's a whole bunch of 'em. You've got your run-of-the-mill fetishes, right? Yanno, big boobs, cute feet, nice legs, etc. But you start surfing Japanese websites, you'll find the most bizarre things. Like Faye Valentine eating shit. Or maybe a li'l bit of Sailor Moon getting her arms and legs cut off and orgasming at the same time. It's just a little disturbing to know that there are people wanking to that.

Anyway, there's also the matter of Japanese porno titles. The word "sperm" is apparently quite popular... You'll find such captivating headers (ha-ha) as "The Love Love Girls Go to Sperm Town" or maybe "Eating Sperm All Day" etc etc. Gotta love those bukkake videos! (God help me, I do.)

And still people insist upon bitching about yuri and yaoi. Of course.
