welcome back! seems like the summer (or at least spring) has finally found its way to us! it was a great weekend here with some decent temperatures. okay, still too cold for a swim in the lake, but this will also come, soon.

well, here we are - already in april and all the great winter resorts are closing for the summer! well, i don't wanna complain about this past season. it started quite early back in october and lasted until april with perfect snow conditions just till the end. but with this crapy wheather we have right now there ain't much to look forward to and you can just hope that summer will catch up with us soon!!

but before we dive into the sun and all the other summer fun, some friends of mine and i will just spend another few days in the snow. just to close the season the right way. :-)

don't know if i really should be that happy being back in town. it's raining, cold, grey, boring... nothing like just a few days ago. and yes - i'm also back at work which is really painful after all these days off.

but hey, what am i complaining about?!? just spent some great days in the snow. and i guess even some of the best days of this season. so, i better get used to the real world again and continue to dream about powder! :-)

it's been quite a while that i updated my journal. but the great snow conditions and the great weather somehow kept me away from my computer. :-) so, here's just a quick update. well, actually no big words, but just a few pictures. and there will be more once i'm coming back from vacation. but that's still some time to go. first i have to work another two weeks before i "have" to get out of the office and enjoy the snow again!

so this was it - the first cold(er) weekend of this fall. only a few people made it to the shore of lake of zurich this afternoon. well, no wonder. with temperature as below as 6°c and a chilly wind it was just not really a nice day to go outside.

but on the other hand, october is almost over and winter is saying hello to us with the mountains all covered with fresh white powder. it will look great once the sun and the blue sky are back. and i surely hope that the nice weather is back within a week since we will start our snowboard season coming weekend.

so, stay tuned for the first "live" snowboard pix to come soon. :-)

well, i hope you all had a great weekend and enjoyed it! i took my bike and did my "mandatory" fall trip to planplatten. it's about 2.5 hours biking up from meiringen. but when the weather is like it was today, then it's really worth it! of course, i wasn't the only one going to the mountains today. lot's of people and also some other bikers around. seems like everybody just wants to get some sunshine and warmth before the winter starts.

as already mentioned last friday i finally managed to take my camera to work and got out to take some pictures during lunch time. the pictures haven't turned out that well, but i may still post some here.

once finished, the glattpark area will provide office space for about 7'000 people and living space for about the same number of people. for the time being, most buildings are still under construction (or not even) and as far as i know, the place i am working is the only office building for the time being. well, there is defenitively more to come - and i hope there will also be more pictures coming this way...

i finally took my camera to work and got out during lunch time to take some pictures from the area. well, they haven't really turned out great so i just upload some from my previous photo tour in that area back in august. but even though the pictures didn't turn out well, it was quite nice to enjoy the "summer".

oh yeah, by the way, the pix are a little bit dark - but on purpose! hehe, like that. it's always a good excuse if pictures are not perfect. but can a picture ever be perfect? well, don't know - but mine not. for the time being i take snapshots. one day when i'm a grown-up photographer i will also take pictures!! until then you have to bear with me and my shots!

it was still dark outside this morning when i walked towards the office - but despite the darkness, there was something different. something was missing.

and yes indeed - when i finally woke up (let's say after the second or third coffee) - i could see it. the sunflowers on the field next to the office building were cut. gone.

i'm just happy that i took some pictures when they were still there and flourishing.

well, that's at least what i thought when i stepped out of the office this afternoon. felt like going home early, putting on my shorts, jumping into the sea and hitting the waves. well, there were only some minor problems to overvome:

first, it's already october (and, thus, no longer summer)
second, i had to work in the afternoon (that's what i hate about conference calls - they take away your freedom to spend your time wisely)
third, my shorts were at home
fourth, the sea is quite far away
fifth, the only board waiting in my cellar is my snowboard
sixth, i'm just not offhanded enough to take decisions liek that
...

well, here i am now, enjoying the "summer" evening and thinking about what comes along tomorrow!
