I've always thought how can I give something back to the web when I've taken so so much. I am like a giant sponge sucking up tutorials, gnu software, mp3s, and who knows what else. But I very rarely make a positive contribution back to the community.

Yea sure I leave the odd tip here and there, or I give some critique on something but nothing ever substantial.

I just so happened to be updating my firefox via the website when i stumbled upon Mozilla Firefox Service Week thingy ma jig and I thought, hell maybe I can do something to help.

Im working on [link] a charity that sends people to Kenya to teach the kids.

Now I have no particular interest in the Kenya education system, but I do care about the web and its community,, and more so - all the things it has helped me achieve over time.

more to come on this post soon.

Monday 9th February 2009 sees the launch of the new International Property Awards website. This journal entry's purpose is to briefly document its history and give thanks to all those who have been involved in the project.

The WayBackMachine documents the birth of [link] in April 2004. Then sponsored by Bentleys the site was table driven and image heavy. Infact it was not untill 2007 when I took over the sites operations that I set about migrating the site over to a CSS based design.

Now in 2009 the site had grown into multiple regions, with lots of duplicating data and other annoying issues such as the total lack of CMS.

So a site migration to Joomla! was brainstormed planned and implemented. Also the site has been split into three with the 'residential and commercial' websites coming into the fray. see - [link] & [link]

Next up for 2009/10 is the development of a user/winners backend application that will handle registrations, winners lists and more. So far we have a snippet of php that prints winners according to a set of supplied parameters but once this is in place it will become the next big task of integrating the winners lists into the users database.

Shout-outs:

Firstly to [link] for providing an immensely powerful CMS for free, without the Joomla! these websites wouldn't be possible. Thanks for all the support from its users in the forums.

Thanks for YooTheme (www.yootheme.com) for their most elegantly designed templates - the best on the web I would argue. They also provided many of the powerful mootool/joomla effects and UI improvements that you see working hard on our site. Great & quick forum support from the staff! good work girls and guys.

Gavick (www.gavick.com) Pro Tools for producing some nice freely available joomla! modules.

Community Builder (www.joomlapolis.com) for producing a heavyweight user management system. Again lots of really helpful people in the forums to help squash bugs and extend CBs functionality.

GTranslate ([link]) - a really easy to use Google powered translater for Joomla!

JoomlaPack - A great component for backing up joomla websites and restoring them with Kickstart another great php application.

VirtueMart - A powerful shopping cart platform for joomla!

Xamp - the site map tool for Joomla! websites

SHEF404 - monsterously good url rewriting plus loads loads more

JCE Editor - a great wysiwyg editor for Joomla!

EasySpace - for hosting our site

Hendus Strydom - for his valuable support especially with the php winners lists

Andrew Cockburn - for his support, humour and his ability to spot absolutely everything that i've done wrong,, cruel to be kind eh.

My mom - for feeding me and listening to me winge!

Chim and Chris for being around and buying me beer! cheers!

Me - for putting it all together in a neat package, otherwise known as a website! woop woop

It's been a while since my last update in Deviant Art. Most of my work has been involved with the website [link]
we are soon to be opening an online store and market place in camden market, a hub for alternative fashion and music. since feburary i can report the hard drive with lots of important designs is still in limbo, my srl camera is still in the hands of a nonce and i am still jobless. The good news is the store is recieving great feedback even while in its developing stages [link] many may find trouble viewing the site in internet explorer, while firefox users will have a much more pleasureable experience. So to break my silence i've added a few layouts I've done over the weekend, just for fun really. And I've also been hard at work designing shirts for screen printing. I recieved loads of positive feedback on my atheism design and there are loads of shirts lurking with our new online store. we plan to open our doors in may and sell shirts initially in europe and then to the usa and then finally the rest of the world. As usual feedback is really appreciated and i try to comment back on everyone that gives me some constructive crictique.
thats all for now but do make sure you check out

Cutting to the chase, I have no hard drive. This simply means, all my photos, designs and porn are gone! vanished in a nano second. Not only that but my phone is now officially kaput. Just after replacing my broken mixer I thought God would go lightly on me and maybe preserve my equipment for a little while longer. My SRL camera is in the hands of a nonce, so i don't expect that to be back in one piece. I quit my job last week, and I have no gf for valentines because I ditched the only women thats ever really liked me. What am I? A Dung Beetle. My plan is to rob a bank and let god sort me out. I've also noticed I spelt Disaster wrong in the subject header, but i think theres a tinge of irony in that, so it stays. Anyone who can help me out with a job, i'd be eternally grateful.
Even in my time of dispare just remember...

Another journey and another oppotunity to take some great photos. however once again technology has let me down resulting in an inoperable camera, all I have managed to capture thus far is a few snaps of a local church, nothing of artist merit. Never mind what can one do when he is on the road but keep his fingers crossed that everything works as hoped for. As for portsmouth itself, it is a pretty coastal town/city, which has a famous naval port, rich in history and a modern piece of architecture which was well worth snapping up. In the town itself it represents what most towns in the uk are made up of, shops, bars, restaurants etc.

I leave on Monday and it's a shame i couldnt capitlise on the oppotunity to take more photos, perhaps on my return I can redeem my misfortune.

Well another journey and another great oppotunity to take some wild and wonderful photos! Ibiza although generally barron across most the landscape does has alot to offer a budding artist, weather it be the beautiful coast, old ibiza town or the madness of the baeleric nightlife. Unfourtunately for this poor old soul, about 2 months into a 5 month adventure the camera broke and some of the best oppotunities were missed. Hower feast your eyes one some of the moments i didn managed to catch in my gallery.

Hello there, my name is Ty Fairclough. I'm from Chelmsford Essex and i am currently a Head Bar Tender/Restuarant Manager at The Bar Cafe Chelmsford. My intentions for this deviant site is to show the world my visual design work and see it progress and evolve over time. I currently have several projects underway both in graphic design, drink design and DJ production. I am also looking to pick up my web tools and continue my web design, which includes flash and, hopefully, mysql. Currently all my work is freelance & for free. Although my work for the bar cafe is occassionally paid.
Corel draw is my pen and i have been using the product since the age of 10,, however 9 years of experience i do not claim to have in this particular software.

Neways i hope to expand my portfolio into, my traditional art, modelling, web, video and away from vector graphics and into traditional dots and colours.

Feel free to make comments,, not all my work is going to be perfect but i do like to go back to pieces and re-vamp them with my new skills and re-thinking.

Thank You and yea,,, thats about it.
