The Lexington was better quality than I thought for the price that I got it for. I think it was so low because it was RIGHT NEXT to the airport. Mmm...planes. (it wasn't too bad of a sound, really. It's like when the air conditioning cuts on in your house and you jump the first couple times...but then you're just like "oh, no biggie." and move along with your life)
No, we got lost trying to find the con from the room. I will never stray away from Mapquest again. Google may be able to pinpoint any person in the word, but when it comes to actual street names, I might as well have asked a blind man. Our hotel was 15 minutes away from the site, but the drive took us 45 minutes to figure out. ^_^;
We made friends in the line, though (liz. if you're out there :high-five: to you) infact, we spent a lot of time making friends in lines. This year I went to two things that I missed out on last year.

1. The Concert (spoony bard, my dear disco, and lemon demon) -Spoony Bard was awesome. They actually went all out and sang Inner Universe which straight up blew my mind. My Dear Disco got the crowd on their feet. Andy was really feelin' them, which kind of surprised me, but made me happy. I'd already exposed Angel to MDD, so she was flailin' around and singing along with me. They played a cover of Micheal Jackson, which made all of the MJ cosplayers (yes, they were there) and the random black Kakashi next to us start dancin' like he would. One MJ actually got up on the stage. I was proud of the band for letting him tear it up with them. Lemon Demon was good and cute, like usual. They didn't have the same amount of energy as MDD, though. So there was less Dancing involved. It didn't stop Angel, though. She's a huge Lemon Demon fan and she kept screamin' stuff out in her excitement. XD Bless her heart.

2. The Masquerade- I wasn't in it, but my buddy, Sammii(two i's), was in a skit and I wanted to give my support. All of the skits were pretty hilarious, but the best one there was the chair. If you did not attend the masquerade, you would not understand the sheer magnitude of love and appreciation and devotion I have for the chair. If you WERE there, then you're probably laughing your arse off right now.

Of course, I revisited my favorite events from last year.
VAT's Top 10 AMVs were great, as always.
The Game Room was pimped out with all the newest stuff. The set-up was different in there this year, though. I think it was because of all the live bands and djs they had goin' in there.
The Dealer's Room was just as packed as always. I revisited the weaponry booth and attained a sword. MISSION COMPLETE! However, I have reason to think that I grabbed the wrong sword when I went to pay for it. Merely, because I remember there being an engravement on the blade stating that it was 440 steel. When I looked at it later, it wasn't on the sword. The handle and sheath are the same, though...so I may just be buggin' out. I'd hate to have paid $80 for a $40 sword. Perhaps I'll bring it with me next time and ask her about it.

and of course, the rave. (I'll get to that in a minute)

By this point, I was actually dressed up as something. (I didn't cosplay on Friday or Sunday b/c I never got together with Kandice on Thursday to get all of our stuff together. I tried to go to walmart anyways, but we couldn't find it. Just ended up wasting more of andy's gas. ) I went as a black and red kitteh on Saturday, thanks to Dave. He handmade ears and a tail for me. I was very excited. The tail was HUGE and it had a wire frame so it could curve into whatever shape I wanted.

But it was lethal. I doubt I would have smacked as many people with it, if they were nicer about it when they passed. You know when you're walking in the woods and the person in front of you pushes a branch aside...and suddenly it comes WOOSHING right into your face instead...at triple speed?
Yeah. That was my tail.
and I could feel it, too. It was seriously connected to my bum (it's hard to explain, but it was hooked onto my pants in a way where I didn't even NEED belt loops) and every touch felt like an indirect act of molestation.

Super awkward when people came up to me (or stood behind me in lines) and petted or batted at me for fun. I'm like...HEEEEY! Oh-right. Tail. Nyaaaa~! =^_^=
I enjoyed the kitty friends I made. Not as big of a family as Narutards, but still a nice following of friends.

Just like last year, it was on my hands to find the hotel room. AAAAND just like last year, I didn't get all of the money together until last minute to do so. :S Still, I found a place fairly close (not as close as last time, but we have 2 cars, so no worries), and I'm pretty confident that I'll have lotso funz!

I gotta track down sabrina and sammii from JAFAX. They have presents for me, apparently.
My mom was going to come with us this year. When I moved, I found myself a block and a half away from a family owned costume store. We has spoken to the owner, and my mom was going to work at the dealers room, selling wigs and things for them. (just b/c it'd be fun.)
Unfortunately, the dealer's room filled up before we could sign up. So, no momma panda. *somewhat sad face*

Guess what my goal is this year? BUY A SWORD! I still don't have enough saved up for my precious dragonfly hiro sword...but I can at least get something pretty shweet.

SCREW FOOD! I WANT SHARP THINGS! lol

I got a hold of the band (because I'm obsessive like that, and it's really not hard to do such things) and they're completely on board with me!
They said as long as I give them credit (copyright business) then I can use it, and even offered to send me a pure mp3 of the song via email to edit length and what not to my liking! ^_^ *dances*

so here's the deal. I'll make a little list of the highlights first, and then afterwards i'll go into agonizing detail. If you don't feel like reading it all, then at least you have the shorter version, right?

okay, here goes.

1ST DAY (friday: halloween)
dressed up like melfina (outlaw star)
was entertained by the Joker playing the guitar (brad gave him $ after lol)
bought black twin blades for $20 (a steal, and i gotta find their website)
brad bought a decorative dagger (it's called the america blade)
watched some awesome AMVs (somehow turned into dancing)
watched Black Blood Brothers (pretty good for being vampires)
went to get some pizza and missed the concerts (pissed)
played in the game room (very yes)
went to a live action mario party (it was the game...with cosplayers. i was on team ninja)
watched AMV hell (meh)

2ND DAY
dressed up like a panda (full white make-up and everything)
became a pokemon trainer (i wasn't cool enough to win master. *sigh*)
played in the dealers room/artist's alley (no one sucked! wtf?)
kandice,heather, and travis bought weapons (Sais/Bo Staff/many including a double bladed sword)
i found my perfect weapon but was $100 short. lol
watched AMV wars. (the win was by a landslide)
walked across the street to the big-ass mall to eat (yeah...detroit must hate pandas...because that was REALLY awkward)
went back to the room to get some sleep and change
came back at 10pm to watch some MST before gettin' in line for the rave
almost got tackled by J and had a crazy blast (domo's a good dancer!)
got to see My Dear Disco live (yay! i got a second chance!)
left a little early and chatted with vash the stampede (promised him donuts)
after much slouching in the lobby, i finally left
travis and kandice almost got killed by the joker while getting food.
i laugh.

3RD DAY
dressed like a kitty schoolgirl
raped the dealers room again (the poster was $10! but it was FLCL)
saw some POTTER PUPPET PALS and got their autographs (and lemon demon lol!)
looked for vashy but couldn't find him
came back home, sadly eating the donut gift

also...PICTURES AND VIDS HUZZAH! the costumes were great! and one of the guests was the black power ranger! W007!

okay, before i rant, i'd like to take this time to warn others. THIS IS THE END OF THE SHORT PART! THE REST IS THE ABOVE BUT IN CRAZY DETAIL!

I had to drive to the con because brad was dead tired and i wanted him to get some rest. At some point i completely missed my exit though. (sigh)
Because of it, the two cars were separated, and what's worse? Both got lost as soon as they got into town (we arrived at different times because travis didn't wanna wait for us ). So...yeah. and then my costume wasn't completely finished so we had to quick piece that together. *sigh* At least now i know what to do, so i can make it early and have it look sexier.

when we got there, we waited in line for a while, but not too long. Youmacon was pretty freakin' organized. i was very impressed. Brad looked a little stand-offish until he saw someone cosplaying from evil dead while we were in line. Then he was PUMPED. Halfway through the wait, a guy dressed up like the joker (movie style...but a little thin) whipped out a guitar. "I'm gonna play for you guys now." (voice dead on) and he just sat up against a pillar and played for us until the line started getting faster. His girlfriend was dressed up like garra (naruto) which was confusing, but they were pretty dead on with the cosplay.... ANYWAY!

first thing i did was go into the artist alley and the dealer's room. BIG MISTAKE! I NEVER HAVE ENOUGH MONEY FOR THIS STUFF! i knew $50 wasn't enough...but i wasn't prepared for the selection! Good gawd the box sets and the clothes and the entire steam punk and furry booths! *swirlly eyes* but nothing could prepare me for what was to come...the damn weapon stand. two people ran it, but the woman was the most helpful to me. she's the one i bought my twin blades from.
I think she knew i was testing her knowledge of things, though. I mean, the prices were like...70% off of what you'd get anywhere else...so the weapons HAD to be just as cheap and fail, right? FUCKIN' WRONG, BITCH! She had collector shit. like...hiro swords! after i realized that all the battle stuff was on the wall (WHAT? THERE'S MORE HERE? WHERE? lol) i took forever choosing...and then the one i pick ends up being the hiro sword that won "best made in the world of 2006" FUCK! it was $175! I'm excited about youmacon! After all of that planning and those horrible road bumps that teased us and taunted us...it seems that my roommates and I are off to cosplay in the middle of detroit after all. (lies, it's in dearborn but close enough)

As for my scanner...you see, i've actually been drawing up a storm! and inking them too! I even have a halloween picture ready early and everything!

but noooooooooo, my computer has to FREAK OUT whenever i try to use my scanner. Do you think it has a virus? I bought it off of my friend's mom for 10 bucks 2 years ago...but come on. it would have done this before, right?
damn hunk o' junk.
maybe i WILL just take pictures of them and put them on my compy.

oh wait...that's right. the only way i get pix on my laptop is to put the memory card into my scanner (it's a 3 in one) and let it upload that way (no slot for it on the comp.) well damn. i'm screwed.

I have 2 h/w drawings, a still life, and a sheet full of cubes to do...not to mention whatever the f*ck is due on thursday.

It's important to note that, with the exception of "the driver", none of the 70mph shots were edited. It was merely the effects of the sun, the fog, and the fact that we were driving 70mph when I took the shot.

This chick, smellin' like stale cigs and cheap booze, comes stumbling up to the car talkin' about how her car died about 3 miles away and that her grandkids that she's supposed to be babysitting are waiting at the house for her to come back with food. She walked from the freeway all the way to shell to get some gas. (I noticed she wasn't wearing any shoes.) With the promise to hook us up with more gas money, she asked if she could please please please get a ride back to her car after she filled up her little gas bin. It would be less time for the babies to wait.

We tried to give excuses, but in the end she talked us into it. So, while she went in to pay for her gas and fill up her bin, Holly, Lannie, and I devised up a plan. The only weapon available was a pair of scissors in the back seat. Lannie took them and held them in her hand on the opposite side of the woman. If the woman tried anything. She knew to be swift. Stab her in the leg, reach over and open her door while she screamed, Holly does a U-E and she's out of the car (by that I mean we'd kick her out and hope she'd roll). Lannie also called her boyfriend, that way she could tell him to call the police or something if plan A didn't work as smoothly. (yeah, we're crazy people)

Just when we were thinking about driving off without her, the woman knocked on the door again. We let her in and she sat in the back seat with poor little innocent Lannie as we planned.

The whole ride there she just kept rambling on...
"I'm no crazy killer or anything I'm a nice person, but don't ever do this. Don't talk to strangers, especially not men. My daughter's 27 years old. She lost all she had to this dick of a fella and now I've gotta drive this piece o' shit car. I told her to listen, but she asked him for help instead and now I have this piece of shit. Do you love your mother? Listen to your mothers. You'll find yourself a grandma gettin' lost in the dark because some man suckered you out of a nice loan. Don't pick up men like you picked up me! I'm a nice person, but your mothers would prolly freak if they new. hahaha. God bless you girls. you shouldn't have done this, but I'm glad you did. You know where the truck stop is? I'm a mile away from that. The little truck stop where all those trucks are at? You don't know how do you not know? It's where the trucks are. It's-well, I'm a mile away and-do you girls smoke? No? Then I won't. My daughter doesn't smoke either. I'm just watchin' her kids and I went out to get gas and I drove out too far. I just put 5 dollars in it! Bless you girls. You know you really shouldn't have picked me up..."

about 15 minutes later she was out of the car and into her own. Thank God. She gave Holly $5 for gas and told us to never let a man in the car.

My style is improving/changing. I draw, like, three different ways and mixing them together to narrow it down to one is VERY hard to do.
I have yet to do it successfully.

HOWEVER I have about 4 or 5 new sketches coming in and I'm sure you'll like them, no matter how different they are from each other. Now, if I could only get my photoshop pen to "simualte pressure" like it's frickin' supposed to (because it refuses to).

Ah well, have a nice day either frickin way.

JAFAX is pretty small, but it's better than nothing. I had fun, they had fun, and we got some shweet pictures, as always. Less Naruto, more Bleach. Always a good sign.

Anyway, I dressed up as a panda and now I will kill you with it's enormous size as I tag it here! Rawr! I'd put it in the gallery, but it's a bit too myspacey to make the cut.
