God Is Good
God, the Creator, and the Author of the Bible, is perfectly good. God has never done anything wrong.

God is wonderful, and perfectly dependable. He has never let anyone down.

NAHUM 1:7 NKJ
7 The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and He knows those who trust in Him.

PSALM 145:8-9 NKJ
8 The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.
9 The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.


The Devil Lies
The devil wants us to believe God is bad: that He is mean, that He wants bad for us, and that He is holding out on us -- keeping us from enjoying good. But it is not true -- God loves you more than you can imagine.

JOHN 8:44 NKJ
44 "You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it."

The devil is a liar -- he works by deception. The devil tries to make us believe God is like him, and he is like God, which is, of course, not true.

Because of satan's efforts to distort the truth, many people's idea of God is actually what the devil is like.

2 CORINTHIANS 11:14 NKJ
14 And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.

JOHN 10:10 NKJ
10 "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.


God Is Kind
LUKE 6:35-36 NKJ
35 "But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Highest. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil.
36 "Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.

Someone said that God's great love could never be satisfied only loving those who loved Him -- so He is kind to the unthankful and evil people, too.

MATTHEW 5:44-45 NKJ
44 "But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
45 "that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.


You Can Trust God
1 TIMOTHY 4:10 NKJ
10 For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.

1 JOHN 1:5 NKJ
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

There is no darkness in God at all. He is perfect. There is no way He could be improved.

1 JOHN 4:8 NKJ
8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

God is a God of love. He puts the interests of others first. He is not selfish. He wants the best for everyone.


Do Not Be Deceived
JAMES 1:13-18 NKJ
13 Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
18 Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures.

Obviously, even beloved brethren can be deceived (see verse 16). Good and perfect things come from our Father God -- and He never varies or changes at all!
