The Super Smash Bros. Brawl Quiz!

1. When did you first get SSBB?

I think it was a few days after the US launch. I imported it. Then I had to buy the UK version cuz the Wii update made the Freeloader useless. I got it a week after the launch date.

2. Who are your top three favorite Brawlers?

1) Link
2) Captain Falcon
3) Sonic

3. Who is your favorite newcomer?

Most definitely Sonic

4. Do you have a preference for the stages you battle on? What are they?

I like big stages like New Pork City and Hyrule Temple. I also enjoy playing on flat stages since it's easier to hit a character with a protectile or if the character I'm using's Final Smash in a liniar shot like Samus or Ganondorf. I'm not a huge fan of the hazards in the various stages, e.g. the stream in the Pikmin stage when it's raining. That thing can really get my annoyed.

5. Timed brawl, stock brawl, or coin brawl? (List also how long or how many stocks)

I prefer Stock Brawl with 10 stock. 'tis how I've been playing since the first Smash Bros.

6. When choosing a character, do you leave the colors alone or do you change them? (If you do change the colors, tell what color you prefer.)

For some characters I like to change the colour. Such as Dark Link, which looks badass. Also, Link's gold suit looks pretty cool. I also like Samus' Fusion and Dark suits. For others, I generally just leave their normal colour.

7. How often do you partake in team brawls?

I guess when I have friends over and I want to make things easy on them, so I have like 2 friends against me and a computer. I don't think I'm ready to have 3 against me just yet

8. Do you ever go online and brawl with others around the world?

I do, and I have kicked many a butt, but the times when I wanna go online are quite late and most people in Europe have gone to bed. I need to find some more friends to play against.

9. When playing Brawl, do you usually play alone or with a second player?

I hardly play it by myself, but I will have to in order to get all the trophies and challenges. Two player is always fun, but it's a shame that the complete All-Star mode with every character challenge doesn't work if you do co-op with a buddy.

10. What kind of controller option do you use? (Nunchuck, Wii-mote sideways, Gamecube controller, etc.)

Gamecube controller mostly, but I have been using the Wiimote and Nunchuk too.

11. Have you tried battling against a level 9 CPU character? Did you win?

I haven't tried yet, but I will do someday.

12. When fighting CPU characters, what level do you usually set them on?

Level 5. Though they are getting a bit too easy to beat now. I should probably go up a level.

13. Have you beat the Subspace Emissary?

Yup. Not got 100% yet, but I had in the US version.

14. What is your favorite movie from the Subspace Emissary?

It has to be the one where Snake hides in a box from Lucario and Meta Knight and gets discovered by Lucario. Tis a classic. XD

15. On a scale of 1-10, 10 being perfect, what would you rate Super Smash Bros. Brawl and why?

I cannot give this game a 10 because it's not perfect, like no other game is perfect, nor will it ever be. Instead I shall give it a 9.5. It's a fantastic game, but I think there are few things that should have been improved or gotten rid off or replaced or added. But mostly, I'm pretty happy with it.

16. What/who is your favorite assist trophy and why?

GREY FOX! Cuz he's awesome and his attacks are really useful and I love saying GREY FOX everytime he appears. XD

17. What is your favorite item to use in a brawl?

Hammer and Golden Hammers, for sure. I also like the Deku Nut and the ! ball thing cuz it stops Brawlers in their tracks.

18. Whose Final Smash is the best?

I think Sonic's Final Smash is the best, cuz it's FREAKIN' SUPER SONIC! HELL YEAH! Having said that, I think it's a bit unfair because you could kill the same person twice with it. They should have cut down the time limit for it.

19. Did you become a fan of another Nintendo series because of Brawl? If so, what series?

Woah, I ain't updated in like over a month. Which is unfortunate because I'VE BEEN DOING SO MUCH STUFF LATELY! I have so much to tell you about. D:

Okay, I'll start off by saying that college is finally over. HOORAY and all that bollocks. Unfortunatey, I don't think I've done enough work to get into the second year, which sucks cuz we were gonna stop motion animation and 3D models and stuff. But I would have probably left anything to the last minute as usual. Besides, I've had enough with education. I just wanna get out there and get a proper job and not this stacking shelves in grocery shop bullshit that I've done in the past. I have my Diploma in IT I got last year, so that should get me somewhere.

I got some games with the money I got from my emeralds, new and old. First the new, I got the Orange Box for PC and Garry's Mod. I'd been looking forward to getting Garry's Mod ever since I saw the various screenshots online, but I wanted to wait until college was over to get it and the Orange Box. Gman's expressions are hysterical. I've made a few screenshots myself which I may put up in my gallery later. I also discovered that other models from games like Zelda, Mario, Sonic and Resident Evil 4 could be downloaded and used in Gmod. I have downloaded these and any more, and I'm having a blast posing them and creating all kinds of weird and hilarious situations. As for old games, I decided to pick up F-Zero GX and Soul Calibur 2 from eBay. I once has both games but I traded them in for new games. Now I can relive the good times I had when I first played them. Plus, *SephirothBeatrix is a HUGE Soul Calibur fan and I wanted to show her how Link played in the Gamecube version of SC2.

Speaking of SehpyBea, she and our mate Ryan came over from Ireland to stay at mine for a week. IT. WAS. EPIC. We had Ryan's PS3, along with me mate Dan a.k.a ~LtMcLean's 360 and projector and my Wii. A lots and lot of booze! HELL YEAH! XD Ryan showed us MGS4 which looks fantastic. I really want a PS3 now. >.< Unfortunately, he couldn't manage to get a VGA cable for it, so we had to use the HDTV in my room to play it instead of playing it on the projector in the basement. Well, we tried playing it on the projector using composite cables, but the picture quality was so bad... SephyBea has brought some Singstar games with her cuz I asked her to, I wanted a go to see how good my singing was. Not to brag or anything, but I did pretty well. On one song (I think it was We're Not Gonna Take It by Twisted Sister), my score was over NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAND! ...what? Anyway, we had fun, drunk a lot (it was the first time I was drunk 3 nights in a row ), got takeaway pizzas (yum...), and played loadsa games, including Brawl, on which SephyBea found out that she actually plays better when she's drunk!

But I made a huge mistake that night. I wanted to show Ryan all the awesome retro games on the Virtual Console but I had to update my Wii. I thought about whether it would disable my Freeloader or not, but I thought it wouldn't because I hadn't read anything about the latest firmware disabling it. So I updated, and wouldn't you know it, my Freeloader DOESN'T WORK ANYMORE! That wasn't the thing that pissed me off the most though. When I tried to turn my Wii on, after I had updated it, I got a message saying the Wii memory was corrupted and I needed to format the memory. Now, a lot of things piss me off, but the one thing that pisses me off the most is lost data, because it can't be recovered. Fortunately, this wasn't what happened. EDIT: Okay, it's come to my attention that some of the journal gets cut off in resolutions of 1024x768 or lower. I use 1152x864 so I don't notice. Anyway, I may go back and edited it....again. But not tonight. I can't be bothered.

I decided to buy something I've wanted ever since I started using this website regularly. LEATHER PANTS! 8D

...lol, not really. I now have a 3 month subscription. I know the year is more value but I wanted to see if having a subscription is worth it or not. Man, everything is layed out so differently, but I can definitely get used to it. I can finally use my CSS skills I learned in college to make a sweet ass journal design. I. I'm finally on my way to getting some lovin'! I can't wait until June! XD

II. I can do impressions rather well, and my talents have landed me in various voice acting jobs. But they don't pay, which is a bummer. =[

III. Actually getting on with people and making friends, and being laughed with and not at.

IV. My photoshopping skills, although still not great, have greatly improved over the past year.

V. I'm really scrapping the bottom of the barrel with this one, but I think I've becoming much better looking as I'm reaching the end of my teens. I think it's my hair and my beard that have helped. And my self confidence is higher than ever.

On a completely unrelated topic, I shall be working with a local farmer tomorrow putting up a fence around our field cuz he's putting cattle in it. Plus I get paid for it too. Last time we had cattle, they got into our garden and ate all the flowers and bushes and left cowpies everywhere. DX

So yeah, I have to get up at 8:30am on my day off and spend the day working in the scorching heat and sun. I think I'll work topless so I can get a tan. My dad says I have to use like factor 15 sun screen cuz I'm so pale. Man, I fucking hate sun screen... It's such a tedious task to put it on, you feel all clammy with it on and like you have to reapply it every hour or so. Really annoying...

Another annoying thing is something that happened to me today. I get a connection bus in the morning to town and get another bus to college, and sometimes I get the connection bus home in the afternoon if the college bus gets into town before it leaves. If not, I stay on the college bus and get of on the turning it takes when it goes away from my house and I walk the rest of the way. So today was one of the days where the college bus gets into town before my connection bus leaves. As I got of the college bus, my connection bus starts to pull away. I'm too late to catch up to it and ask the driver to stop and let me on. Naturally I'm pissed because now I have to wait for half an hour for the bastard to come back. But there was a chance. The bus have to go road the back of town the get back on the road that goes to my house. The next bus stop up is about a quarter of a mile away in front of the local McDonald's. And it's up a hill. So I decide to race the bus to McDonald's! I jog at first, then I get to the top of the hill and I'm completely worn out. My throat is killing me and I'm constantly spitting to make the pain go away. Don't ask how I think that works, I just do it. So I walk for a bit. Then I see the bus behind me and I'm like OHFUCK! D8 I use what remaining energy I have left to jog the final stretch towards the bus stop. But the pavement cuts off, which mean I have to go round the back of some houses to get past. I run past the houses and I see the bus pass me. At this point, I'm thinking "Aww, brilliant. All that ebergy wasted for nothing." But then, a glimpse of hope! A zebra crossing with stop lights right near the bus stop! As I make a final sprint for the bus, I notice the lights turn green. I'm like "Nooooooooo!" DAY 3

Got up about noon-ish. Alex had already left cuz she to get to work. I was sad. =[ I woke Sorcha up and we talked about going to Jordan's cuz I'd never been there before. But first I wanted to go into town cuz I wanted to find Soul Calibur 2 for Gamecube. I hadn't played it in ages, and I was eager to show off my 100% complete save file that was still on my memory card to Sorcha. Anyways we get on the bus and we meet Sorcha's mate, Steve a.k.a. . Yay, another DA member I know in real life. He's a pretty cool guy and he understands that Sonic whoops Mario's ass any day. Real thing is he'd got on the wrong bus, and had to be at an interview or something. He ended up joining Sorcha and I in our quest of SCII. We went to most of the game shops in the town center but none had it in stock. We then went to TGI Friday's to refill our blood sugar levels with Oreo Milkshakes and fizzy drinks. Free refills FTW! Anyways, we leave, and we bid Steve farewell. We then get a bus back to Sorcha's. At this point we're thinking it might be too late to go to Jordan's, but we end up getting a ride from her mother, which was really nice of her to go out of her way like that. Especially since it's quite a long drive to Jordan's. I remembered to bring Brawl and my Wii. Jordan has a Wii but I needed mine for the save file. During the night, I played some Parappa the Rapper from my phone which rekindled Jordan's love for the game that he hadn't played in years. He's been sending me Parappa releated videos ever since. We played a bit of Guitar Hero 3, and watched Jordan barely survive Through the Fire and the Flames on Normal. Then we played Brawl all night long and didn't sleep, which brings me to...

DAY 4

Lack of sleep had made me a bit grumpy and lethargic, and I didn't really want to do anything that would require me to use much energy. So what does Jordan suggest we do? Go for a walk to the local park. I really couldn't be arsed but I didn't want to be anti-social. Tis what I came to Ireland to not be. So I went, and had my hood on to block out what light I could. Got to the park, we swung, we rode, and had fun. Then it started to rain, and then it hailed. We took refuge in some fern trees, but we realised it wasn't gonna stop anytime soon, so we left. We stopped in a nearby supermarket for some snacks. I wished I'd brought my wallet with me. X[ We then split up cuz Sorcha and I wanted to head back to the house while Jordan ventures into the village. On the way back, my legs started to itch, and it annoyed me so. DX We get back to the house and discover that it's locked. D: I kinda knew it would be since Jordan had the key. So Sorcha and I decided to take the time to talk about life and stuff. I couldn't contribute much to the conversation due to how I've hardly experienced anything. I'm boring, I know. DX So Jordan returns and we go in. We needed to clean up some of the aftermath of the previous night, which mostly comprised of used drinking cups, empty crisp packets (with additional crisps on the floor) and discarded game cases. I later recieved a text saying my 2:30pm ferry back home had been cancelled due to bad weather, which means I had to get the 8:05am one. I was tired enough as it is to have to wake up early for a ferry. X[ Anyways, Jordan sercumbed to slumber after a while leaving Sorcha and I to Brawl until Ryan came over later. I feel asleep for a couple hours before then, according to Sorcha. We then popped on Call of Duty 4, in which I got my arse kicked by the guy. Then he played online and kicked more arse. Chinese was ordered later that evening, and more Brawl was played. Then Sorcha's mother came and picked us up. When we got back, I packed my bag, which is when I realised I'd left my Wiimote at Jordan's. DX I thought Whatever, I can just have him post it me. Day 2

Not a lot happened on the second day, TBH. Got woken up at about 10am by Sephy and Jynx jumping on my bed (cheers, guys ). We just played games all day, mostly Brawl. Jynx hadn't slept all night and eventually fell asleep on one of the sofas. We got aquainted with his snoring, which was amusing to say the least. So we played games and stuff. Really can't remember the precise points, but meh. Eventually, Jynx's mum came to pick him up. So he went after a while, which left me, Sorcha (SephyB) and Alex (Sparkly-Elf) in the sitting room. Then we decided to stick a Lee Evans DVD on, cuz y'know, Lee Evans = WIN. We decided to turn it off about an hour in, and play some more games. I think it was UT3, then Bladestorm. I was feeling tired at about 11:30pm so I hit the sack. Anyways, that's more or less it.

If you're reading, Alex, I didn't want to talk about our *ahem* "getting to know each other better" session we had here. Just know that I thought it was amazing, and I enjoyed myself thouroghly. Luvs joo! <3

WOW! What a week! I'm exausted.

I shall enlighten you of these last 5 days.

DAY 1

Got the 12pm swift ferry which docks in Dublin at 1:49pm. While on board, a woman with a baby sat down at the table I was sitting at. We chatted and stuff and I played with the kid's toys with him. My childish mind kept me from getting bored from it. We finally docked at Dublin Port, and I gave a ring and she told me to meet her at the Spire, which is a huge ass needle thing that symbolises the center of Dublin. So I gets on a tour bus of some kind which takes me to the city centre. While on the bus, the driver gave us a quick explaination of some of the interesting placemarks we drove past in the city. He'd occasionally say my darlings, which I thought was hilarious He reminded me of Charles Martinet a bit. Sort of like the camp, fun loving middle aged man. Which is something I'm not sure I should worry about or not.

Anyways, I got off the bus in the city and gave SephyB another ring just to let her know I'm in town and I'm on my way. According to her, I went down a pretty rough street to get to the Spire, which is a shame since there a game shop on that street. So I get to the Spire, and I can't see her. I call her up and she's on the other side the thing. XP At last! We are reunited! We meet, we hug, she comments on my beard and stokes it. (I was clean shaven the last time I met her.) Then we go to a local art shop so she can buy some dry markers for colourin's. Then we went to T.G.I. Fridays and had Oreo Milkshakes like when I was over last time for Eirtakon. If you've never had one, it's like an orgy in your mouth. Honestly. So we were hanging out, talking about stuff, new and old, when should appear behind me. It was my first time meeting her, and she was so lovely. We talked some more and doodled some pics, then Ryan came in and hung out with us. We then left T.G.I.'s and headed for the bus stop. Ryan had to leave for reasons I can't remember. Work related, I think. Anyways, so me, SephyB and Sparkly-Elf get on a bus to Sephy's house, where we find loitering around outside. He had blonde highlights so I was a bit OMG. So we go in, I am shown to my room where I dump my bag but bring my Wii downstairs and hook it all up in the sitting room. Naturally, I put Brawl in first. I think I played it first cuz I wanted to unlock something real quick. Then I let SephyB have a go so she can get aquainted with Samus. Then we played some Resi 4 after we got fed up with Brawl. Got from the part where you enounter the village cheif for the first time to the castle. Then we turned the Wii off and Sephy played some Virtua Fighter 5 and Unreal Tournament 3 on her PS3. Not sure what else we did but I ended up not going to bed until about 5am.

Well, I think that's enough for one journal. AND THAT'S ONLY ONE DAY! D8 I'll do another one later.

I won't go into detail about the game as I only had a couple hours sleep last night and I'm bloody knackered. I will say this, though. It looks gorgeous, it plays very well, and it's hella fun! The Freeloader worked brilliantly! Though there was some confusion before I got it working, but it's all been cleared up now.

Before I reveal my thoughts and feelings about the disc, I'll tell you how it works.

The disc itself is Gamecube game sized, for some reason and the back of it has those 6 little bumps that have been on all of Datel's Gamecube software discs.

So, first you insert the disc into the Wii and after a few seconds, this weird stretchy line effect appears on the screen twice and then the Wii menu goes back to normal. Then you insert your import game and the Wii will then recognise it, then you hit start.
I have 3 US Gamecube games to test with it.

First one was Smash Bros Melee. The game started up just fine, apart from a thick black line that appeared at the top left of the screen. I think this was because I was going from having the Wii in 480p to 480i and something went wrong with the display. The manual (or should I say piece of card that's found where the manual is) says that you should set the Wii to whatever picture format you intend to play the game in first before using the Freeloader. Since I use 480p on my Wii, all I had to do was hold B as the game started up and choose for the game to play in progressive scan, or 480p as my Wii is already in.

So I played Classic with Captain Falcon and everything run pretty smoothly, and in 60fps which Melee usually runs at. I didn't run into any glitches, screen freezes or longer than usual load times. Everything ran as though I was playing the PAL version, but in 480p.

Right, next was StarFox Assault....

It didn't load. No idea why. I just got a blank screen after I hit start. Nothing happened. I was holding onto the GC pad's B button at the time because I wanted the Progressive Scan message to come up, so I thought myabe that's why it didn't work. I tried again without pressing the B button, and it still didn't load. So, yeah, I'm gonna have to do some research on this.

And finally Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door.

Well, looks like that door's gonna stay closed because THIS GAME DIDN'T LOAD EITHER! Same result as StarFox.

This has turned out to be quite disappointing. I was looking forward to playing StarFox again in 480p. But let us not forget the main reason I bought this thing, and that's for Smash Bros Brawl. I'm expecting it to arrive some time this week, so I will let you guys know about my findings when I get it.

To top it off, by assholic little brother hadn't told my parents were we was all weekend and they've been worried sick. Turns out was in Porthmadog (a town about 10 miles away) with his mates. He and my mum had a huge argument over the phone eariler. He talks to her as if she was his badly treated girlfriend or wife, saying stuff like "Don't you start getting fucking moody with me!". Honestly, what the fuck is his problem? He goes mental over nothing.

*sigh* Anyways, today could have gone a lot better, for sure. I've promised my mum I'd do a few chores for her while she goes to see my dad.

I can finally play Smash Bros Brawl without having to wait for the European version which, at the moment, seems non-existant. Not only that, but I can also play my US Gamecube games on my Wii again since Ninty blocked the Gamecube Action Replay. I am truely beside myself with joy.

In other news...

I'd heard from my mate the other day that Zelda: Twilight Princess for Gamecube is now pretty rare and buying a copy new is around £50. He also told me that the local game shop, Gamestation, are offering a whopping £80 trade in for the game! I thought this sounded too good to be true.

So I called Gamestation up, and asked them how much said game would go for in trade-in. The guy said they'd take it of my hands for £20, which I thought was a bit disappointing. I was expecting at least £30.

Anyways, I went into town because I was getting a present for my mum for Mother's Day. While there, I decided to pop into another local game shop which I just a one-off shop, y'know not part of a big franchise, called Summit Games. I went in and asked them if Twilight Princess was rare or not, and the guy at the counter said it was quite rare and told me that it would be about £40 pre-owned. I then mentioned to him that I wasn't looking for it, I already had it. Then suddenly did a complete U-turn and said that the best price I could get for it is £20. And I thought "Hang on! You just told me that it was worth quite a bit, yet you're only offering me 20 quid for it?!" Being the chicken shit that I am, I didn't say anything about it and just left the store.

This occurence has shown me how naive I've been thinking that game shop attendants are people who only want to be your best mate and get you the best deal, whereas the reality is they'll say anything just to get money from you. This reminds me of another time at the same shop where I spied Yoshi's Touch & Go for the DS on the shelf. Being a Mario fan, I was intriged by the game and I asked the people behind the counter if it was any good. They told me it was really fun to play and addictive too, but when I played it, I realised it was just really gimicky and it was just another console release game designed to show off the DS's features.

So yeah, wakey wakey for me, it seems. I stopped doing trade-ins ages ago because I realised that it wasn't worth it in the end. And because I discovered eBay.

Around 3:30 this morning, whilst I was on my PC browsing the web, my mum came into my room and told me that police cars had arrived at a farmhouse just across the road from mine.
I'm not sure how many there were at the time, but I'd say around 5 or 6, which is extremely peculiar unless a serious crime had been committed.

If you're wondering what my mum was doing up at this time, it was because she was woken up by the police helicopter that was circling the premicise whilst using a searchlight to check the surrounding fields. I didn't hear it because I had my headphones with music playing.

At this point I was like "What the hell happened there?!". The main possiblity that crossed my mind was someone had broke into the house, murdered someone inside and escaped into one of the surrounding fields, hence why so many cop cars showed up and a helicopter was called in to do an aerial search of the area.

The more paranoid side of me said that they were looking for me because of my many file sharing activites, so I put my PC on stand by because I was using Bittorrent at the time. Then I thought "Why would they need so many men to question me?" At that point, I told myself I was just over reacting. I then turned my PC back on to see if any of my mates were still online so I could tell them what's going on. Unfortunately, nobody was online, so I put my PC on stand by again.

After about quarter of an hour, my parents went back to bed and I went back to my room. Then I thought maybe I could record the scene and show someone. So I recorded for about 35 seconds from a window looking out on the driveway of the house where the police cars were gathered. The helicopter was now hovering over the house across the road from the driveway, so I filmed a bit of that too. Unfortunately, the camera on my phone is pretty crap and I didn't manage to get a brilliant video. It was very blurred, but you can still hear the sound of the helicopter.

After this, I gave up and returned to my room, where I played my DS for a bit. Eventually, the helicopter noise had gone and I decided to go to sleep. After getting up today about 4pm (like the lazy bugger I am ), I checked the BBC News site to see if anything had been reported about the incident. Surprisingly, nothing was mentioned about it. No sign of the village name of the site; even when I looked for the really local news, still nothing.

So yeah, tis pretty weird stuff. I wonder what went down.

UPDATE

OK, yesterday my dad found out what had happened what happened at the farmhouse.

Apparently, three guys tried to break into a gas station about a couple miles away, and were caught by some bypassers who informed the police. These men then tried to do a runner across some fields to avoid police cars.

Eventually, they reached the farmhouse across the road where they tried to lay low for a while. But I think the owners then heard some noises from the barns or whatever and called the police, who then arrived to apprehend the criminals.

But they only caught two of them. One got away, which is why the helicopter was still searching the area. So far, there hasn't been any sign of this third guy, but I will update you guys if they find him.

This guy hasn't been online for over 3 years and his empty void of an account is still up?! 'Tis right bullshit, I tell thee. =x So I thought I'll notify DA of this empty account and maybe then I can get the name instead. According to the FAQs, no, you can't do that. What the FAQ does suggest doing is emailing the account owner and asking for the account for yourself. One problem. He hasn't made his email address visable on the page, making him impossible to contact.

So yeah, Christmas has come and past, as has New Years Day 2008. Wow, 2007 went by at ludicrous speed, huh? I have a lot to forward to this year, including Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Smash Bros Brawl and uh....what was that other thing...um...oh yeah, Super Smash Bros Brawl. I so can't wait for this game! All the stuff that been put into the game, I just feel spoiled. Though, there are a few characters I want to be playable in the game that haven't been annouced yet. Some I want more than others, some I think are obvious choices like Krystal and Sonic characters like Tails, Knuckles and Amy.

Also this year is Eirtakon 2008 which is in November like last year. Cool thing about this year's con is Vic Mignogna, the guy who does Ed's voice in Full Metal Alchemist, will be attending. I've never met a voice actor before, and being a wannabe voice actor myself, it should be a cool experience. I hope more voice actors will be attending this year. Maybe some from Dragonball Z, or Naruto. Or, and I know this nigh on impossible, David Hayter, voice of Solid Snake. That guy rawks. I have thought about who I will cosplay this year (even though I have all year to think about it Xp). I'll be there for to days and I would like to cosplay two characters for each of those days. I'd like to do Leon Kennedy for one, and I was thinking about being Mario for the next but then my mate who agreed to be Luigi has backed out so I decided not to bother. I think I'll watch more popular animes this year, like Bleach and Excel Saga. A lot of people at the con last year were cosplaying characters from these animes last year and seemed to get a lot of attention for it. But then, I'm a pretty shy guy and I feel as if I won't like the attention. But I promised myself I'd be a lot more involved this year and have more fun.

Interesting stuff coming up for me would be my buddy Ryan, whom I met in Ireland, will be coming over next weekend. He and two other mates of mine, Kenny and Emma, will hopefully be hanging out and playing games all weekend. I have some college assignments that need to be handed in the Monday after so I better get those out of the way beforehand.

So, um... Nothing really new is happening, to be honest.

Eirtakon is just under two weeks away. I still need to get a wig and shoes for my Edgeworth costume. Luckily there's a costume shop and plently of shoe shops nearby. I've booked the B&B me and my mates will be staying at, which isn't far from my cousins' house so I can go see them. Haven't seen them in years. =[ My mate still needs to get the ferry tickets for us. He says his mum might get them either soon or a day before we leave for Ireland. O_o I mean, what the hell? Do it now, get it over with!

I've got quite a bit of college work I should be doing, but meh...look at the DA description; procrastinator. Xp It's my way of life!

I think I'm going through another phase where I find something or someone awesome and obsess about them for a few weeks and then not be so bothered about them so much anymore. The guy I found is Jeff Dunham, a very funny and talented ventriloquist/comedian. The first video I watched of him was his Achmed the Dead Terrorist act, where he has a skeleton dummy with a turban, beard, thick moving eye brows, and moving red and yellow eyes. Sometimes when the audience is laughing, Achmed would shout to a random person, "SILENCE! I KILL you!" and then he double takes the person he shouted at a bunch of time times. Jeff has a number of different dummies who are equally hilarious. You should check out his videos on YouTube, just search his name.

Oh yeah, Mario Galaxy comes out next Friday. I've decided not to pre order it from an online site. Instead, I wanna go out and buy it from a shop. I miss the feeling of physically paying for it, and the anticipation of playing it on the ride home. I do stuff like read everything on the back of the box, proofread the instruction booklet, oggle at the disc, etc. Hey, that's the way I feel about games, and if you can't understand that, then you have no right to comment on the way I think.

Anyways, stuff that has happened to me and what-not:

I had another filling yesterday. >.< I was numb in the mouth for hours. I couldn't eat anything and by the time the feeling had come back, I was starving! I thought my stomach would collapse on itself. Xp

I'm off next week because of half term. I need to get some college work done during that time, but knowing myself, I'll probably blow it off til the last minute.

I'm still really eager to get a 360. I have £148 at the moment and I'm trying to think of more stuff to sell so I can afford one. There's a DS homebrew device I have returned to its company because it was faulty but I haven't recieved a replacement yet. I called the company and they said I'll get it within the 1-2 weeks because they're waiting for stock. I think I'll sell that once I get it. It cost £100 when I bought it so I think I'll get quite a bit for it. Then again, memory devices have become quite cheap recently so I might not get as much as I hope for.

I've also discovered a cool new deal from Microsoft for the 360. If someone with a 360 gets a friend to buy one between the beginning of November and the end of January, and sends the reciept of the purchased 360 with a special coupon to Microsoft, the new 360 owner and the introducer will get 10 free XBLA games each. My mate has a 360, so we can totally do it!

Besides games, three Sonic plushies (one new, two old), a Tails plushie, a Sonic bendy figure and stand from SA2, Sonic the Movie DVD, Sonic Underground DVD box set (which I really wish I hadn't got. Anyways, I had a great birthday last weekend. A couple of my mates from college came over to stay. One of them brought his 360 and we played Halo 3 (which he had bought the day he came over) and Gears of War. In 1080i HD, fo'mo! I had no idea how awesome Gears of War looks. Halo 3 co-op was pretty fun too. I've had some more birthday money too from reletives and such. I have £80 at the moment, which I was think of spending on a new phone, but I've decided I'm gonna save up for a 360 instead. I'm selling a pair of agressive inline roller blades on eBay, so that'll give me a bit more cash.

As some of you may have noticed, my Phoenix Wrong flash has been removed from DA due to copyright reasons. ¬_¬ I kinda saw this coming. So many other people have complained about DA deleting their flashes because of copyright. Doesn't matter though, it's still on Newgrounds and SheezyArt.

I've already had my present: a brand new 32" HDTV! It's my birthday AND Christmas present, if that makes any sense. It basically means I won't be getting a big Xmas present this year. But I don't mind though. As long as I get Smash Bros, I'm happy. Anyways, since it's my day off tomorrow, I'm gonna go to town with a couple of mates and then we're gonna come back here to stay. Then on the Saturday, I might be staying over at one of the mates' house. So, should be fun. Anyways, present wise, so far, I've had me TV and a nice card from my parents (thanks so much, Mam and Dad ), and a card and £20 from my grandmother (bless her ). See ya for now!

1) I have been playing video games since I was about 7. But I haven't always liked video games. When I was little, I used to be scared of them because of the death music. I remember I used to leave the room when someone who was playing the Super Mario Bros 3 would get to the fortress level.

2) While on the subject on SMB3, when I was a bit older and over my fear of video games, I always used to say "Badoom, man!" when I watched my uncle play the airship levels, because of the sound the bullet bills make.

3) I have lived in 4 houses: a two storie house in Essex, then when I moved to Wales, I stayed in my Grandmother's house for a while, then a bungalow on Anglesey, and a three storie house, which I am currently living in.

4) I used to have a dog, until a few years ago, who I knew practically my whole life. He was a year older than I was. He had to be put down a few years ago. I miss him. -_- But now I have 3 dogs which my family and I got from a nearby rescue centre. We were originaly only gonna get one dog, but we saw a couple of puppies in a pen and he had to have them. X3 So we took 3 dogs instead.

5) I once saw Lee Evans live in Manchester during his XL 2005 tour. For those of you who don't know Lee Evans, he's in There's Something About Mary and Mouse Trap.

6) I'm a huge Sonic fan, although I have never owned a Sega console.

7) The only time I've been to hospital is when I had terrible migranes that felt like there was something is my head trying to burst out. They caused me to vomit on occasions. I had a brain scan, and thankfully they didn't find anything wrong with me. I think they came from me spending to much time on my mobile. The radiowaves must have affected me somehow.

8) I really wanna become a voice actor, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how I can show off my talents. I guess I could do a flash series or something with me voicing the characters.

I go in and I'm not given any instruction of what to do, so I have to look for something to do.

I see an item is low on the shelf and I go to the back to see if there's any more of it. If there is, I stock it. If there isn't, I don't. And the manager complains because I don't stack enough shelves during my shift. Only because there's none of the item left in the back! Plus his idea of organsing of items involves dumping everything all over the place so I can't find anything! >=[

He says I can't mop or vaccum, which implies that the floor is dirty when I finish. That's because people come in while I'm mopping and walk on the clean floor with their muddy shoes! X[

He also said that he didn't have my number to let me know about whatever. Which is bullcrap since he rung me two weeks ago to tell me my shifts! PLUS my number was written on a little piece of paper stuck to the till!

I've only met the guy once on my first day, and I hated him from the start. He's loud, he talks fast and has a weird accent that's hard to understand and he expects you know everything from the very beginning! He told me to make sure the beer fridge is full and if it is, find something that needs refilling, which is all well and good, but like I said if there no stock to go on the shelves, there's nothing I can do about it.

Anyways, I talked to him on the phone when I got into the shop eariler this evening. This is when he basically told me I was let go and he explained why, and I couldn't understand much of it because of the way he talks. As you'd imagine, I was pretty gutted. I mean I wasn't warned or anything. You'd think I could have gotten some warning to speed up my work. But no, I'm left oblivious. He told me that this isn't my kind of work (I could have told him that ) and suggested I do something computer related. I explained to him that it was only a part time job, and he stood by what he said. I should have told him to have let me use the cash register, in that case. I'm good wih electronics and maths, but I'm given the labouring task. I really need to find a job which takes advange of what I already know how to do. I asked him how I was getting paid, and he was really vague about it. Saying something like he'll let one of the other guys in charge handle it. Then he said that he wouldn't be paying me in full for the time I was there because there was were times where I was just walking around the shop doing nothing. Again, this is because there was nothing left to stack. > I admit I could have been doing something productive during this time, but then there's that lack of direction.

The I had to call my mother, who had just dropped me off, to come back and pick me up. She was kinda annoyed, as you'd imagine, to hear that I had been let go. She wanted to know why, so she talked to the guy on the phone. I can't remember much of what she said to him, but I know she said "Please don't raise your voice at me." numerous times. F***ing nobhead. D=< She also asked how I was getting paid and it sounded like he was being pretty vague with her too. After I while, she couldn't talk to him anymore, and I'm not surprised. So we left.

Anyways, I feeling a little better than when I first started writing this, but I still feel bad. I was gonna use what I made from working there to fund my trip to Ireland. I guess I'm gonna have to go job searching again. =[

The shoes for my Edgeworth costume came over the weekend but they're a size too big. =[ So now I gotta send them back to get a size 10. I know I'm not a size 11, yet I ordered 11s anyway. =\ I must not have been thinking properly.

Still on the topic of my costume, the black waistcoat I ordered came today, and it goes perfectly with the Austin Powers costume I'd bought on eBay....oh yeah, I bought a purpley red Austin Powers costume 'cuz I thought it looked a lot like Edgeworth's suit. It seems I neglected to tell you guys. <=] All I need now are the smaller sized shoes and a silver wig, and I'll be shouting "OBJECTION!" in no time.

Another awesome thing that happened today was I found my PSP! XD
I thought I had lost it last Tuesday in college, but it turns out I left it on the bus and the driver found it and kept it for me. What a great guy! After all the crap my parents were saying about how it will be lost forever and not everybody is honest enough to hand lost things in, blah, blah, blah. I'm not saying I wasn't really lucky, but they can be quite paranoid and pecimistic at times. Parents, what're ya gonna do, huh?

Yet another awesome thing that happened was my new mate Dan, whom I know from college, came over today. I never have mates over at my house, so it was pretty cool to have a guest for a change. We played some Wii Sports, and Burnout Revenge and had a laugh. X] I used my PS2 steering wheel so it would even out the playing field a bit.

Anyways, awesome day for me, or awesome evening, should I say? During the day wasn't so great, what with college and stuff. Meh, I could be doing a worse course. Anyways, see ya!

OH YEAH! I forgot to mention that I will be my birthday on the 11th of October, and I will be 19. So, yays for me!
