All right, I can't stand it! I'm dying to try my own adoptables! Of course I may be utterly defeated by my inability to draw cute animals, but I have too try!

Would anyone like their own adoptable Broonie from Dark Moon Diary? It will be drawn in my style, rather than Brett's and I'll try to cuten it up but that seems like a good place to start

I'm also pondering kiryn, dragons, asian dragons, and gryphons. But agian- me+cute animals=epic fail so we'll just have to see.

If this works out I will start charging and using the money for a premium membership which I see a lot of the other adoptable people do. Which seems reasonable. Also I thought I might sell small DA prints of the adoptable so anyone can buy the art even if they don't manage to adopt the critter.

WISH ME LUCK!!

OMG! I just found this [link] And what the hell are they? Aside from mad cute! Ok, I kind of get that they are little digi animals which presumably you purchase a jpeg?? of? In order to display them? I need a translation of all the cutsy language like 'adoptables' and 'breeding'.

But man, that little owl thing with the antlers is to DIE for! OMG!

Also, holy crap! I need to get in on this action! LOL! I kid. Even if I made adoptable no one would buy them. And I still don't know exactly what they ARE. And MCadoptables is making plushes!! OMG!!!

But it makes me want to try drawing cute animals even though I knbow I could never make such cuties! I could probably draw dragons or something. But what genius is this? All they do is recolor the SAME drawing over and over! Now that's what I call epically clever. And economical!!

But it looks like you'll also be able PURCHASE HARD COPIES!!!1 Yay!!!!!!!!!!

At the Tokopop creator summit Stu said they would be working to put a print-on-demand feature on the website so that the online only comics could also be purchased as a book. And now it looks like they are adding the feature.

Here is the e-mail Troy sent me

"Hi Che--

Because of the coming POD program (which we’re still in the process of setting up) we’ve pushed back the release dates for many of our online manga releases. DMD 2 will likely go online Jan. 2010. Though that’s not set in stone, this is where it’s currently falling.

So pls tell the fans we apologize for the wait, and to hang tight, as they’ll be getting their DMD fix soon!"

Well, I'm back from Comic Con. It was good. I got swag which is cool and I got into a lot of panels I wanted too see. The only one I missed which filled up before I could get in the room was the RiffTrax Live panel. But I was totally almost first in line for Syfy (pronounced s-if-ee) Fridays. I was glad everyone booed the SciFi Channel name change. A couple cast members from Warehouse 13 where int he audience and it was cool to see them but they didn't talk or anything.

Panels I did get into: Family Guy, Cleveland Show, Vampire Diaries (barely!), Futurama, Supernatural, Smalleville-but only because it was before the Supernatural panel. Apparently the guy who plays Superman NEVER goes to cons but he was here this year, live and in person. The BEST AWESOMEST SUPER BESTEST panel I got into was the Watchmen LIVE Directors cut with LIVE comments by Zack Snyder! OMG! It was the best thing ever! I couldn't stay for all of it because the friends I was with left after the masquerade but I can assure I am going to buy the directors cut!!! OMG! I totally love that movie!

Swag- I got some free books. But I have to say I think the publishers were a little stingy. On Sunday they were handing books out only to kids! WTF? Oh well. I just like free books! I mean after I got some last year I thought the bounty would continue! I think they are getting wise to that though. Still- stingy! >

I got a Smalleville ballcap, a Tokyopop t-shirt going from going to the TP creators summit- which was NOT as lame as you might thinking! I'm serious! I mean they still aren't my BFFs but if they CAN accomplish some of what they are talking about it will be really good. One of the things they are working on is a partnership with a POD publisher so that the web manga- like Dark Moon Diary vol. 2!!! will be available in a print format for a slightly higher price than their regular books.

Further swag- an unknown t-shirt which is black and has something on it but I can't tell what. AND a Suckerpunch t-shirt. Suckerpunch is Zack Snyder's new project and there were minions handing them out at the door when I left.

Vampire Diaries is AWESOME! I can't wait for it on CW! It's gonna be a great show and I hope it lasts!

Purchases- half off manga! Yays! I bought a bunch of yuri from Seven Seas- who I normally boycott on the basis of 'i can write for them but they won't hire me/don't know i exist'. And I got Jon's Beastman! The Mattel booth was swamped! Holy cow! But I got lucky.

The Family Guy panel was cool and they showed a long clip from their Empire Strikes Back parody episode. SOOOOO FUNNY! OMG!

Pitched to Yen Press. Mara sent me some of the material from Witch-Ever! and I showed it to the Yen Plus editor. She said it was hard to tell just from the samples I showed her, but she also DID NOT SAY NO! So that's promising.

And there is more of my talking and crap here [link] good stuff hahaa!

Anyway, there's probably lots more to tell you all about but I'm tired of typing... If I can get to Bellevue! *SOB* They are also giving prizes to the contest winners at the opening ceremony! The super lucky winer of the BJD Photo contest wins a doll! So congratulations to the! Here's a link to the InnoSera page so you can check out all the winners [link] I'm going to see if anyone I know is going to the con by car to see if I can hitch a ride. I'm also check airline prices on Orbitz just incase I can get up there cheap. Last will be the train. Its cheap but takes like one whole day, maybe two to get there and I'm just too dang old to sleep in seats.

Second thing of AWESOME was that I jogged for 9 whole minutes! Yeah! Not super fast, 4.8-4.5 but still awesome! For me that's a real acheivement! I've never been much into jogging or running, but I started to feel like I could do it lately so I've been working my way up a minute or so at a time for the past month. And I just got a pair of New Balance running shoes! I hope I bought the right shoes! I tried them out today and the soles of my feet hurt. I feel they don't have the cushioning I'd like in a running shoe but running in them was a lot better than my Sketchers sport which is what I normally wear to the gym. I also have a lot of problems with heel pain and I'm not sure what to do about it. I've seen braces and stretching equipment which is supposed to help but I don't know what to buy.

And I'm getting ready for San Diego Comic Con! Yeah! I'm gonna go get my train ticket and start writing a packing list. I need to make food and take it with me too! Which means tons of tiny grilled cheese sandwiches. Enough for six days of lunch/diner. I'm also going to the Tokyopop Creator Summit. I KNOW it will be stoopid but I'd like to see if Troy (my former editor) is there and meet Armand Villevert which I've swapped a few e-mails with. Mara introduced us. I'll also get to meet Gabe Hernandez who is working with me on a comic to submit to Zuda.

I wrote it in the space of about 2 days and edited it for three. Then I hit the send button! I'm so glad I did too!
Brett and I may start a webcomic!! YAYS! Although neither of us can code html so I've been eyeballing Drunk Duck as a place to host it. I'm pretty sure they have templates! Anyone have any advice? ASIDE from 'learn html' because that's just not gonna happen!

I'm also submitting our latest project to publishers. It's Brett's brainchild- this time I'm the 'hired gun' and did the script based off of his idea and characters. Wish us luck!! A few places I wanted to send it want the sample comic pages lettered! Which I did not know, so that means I have to go and letter them. Blerg! I don't exactly love lettering. I mean I CAN and I should get better at it but it's just tedious. Also the Photoshop pen tool is the BANE of my existance! Seriously! So I guess I need to read up on it and just do it to it! LOL!

I'll be lettering our webcomic too once that's off the ground. I also lost like half the materials for it- not the script thank heavens! But the character descriptions and such. Still, Bretts got the script so that's cool. Of course I set the comic in NY which I've been to exactly ONCE! Anyone out there live in NYC? I need advice on the city! Or go tell Brett about it, he has to draw it!

ALSO (PLEASE HELP ME!)- I am open for commissions! I am always open! for 8x10 prints it is $15+ $2.00 shipping for up to 2 characters- pretty much anything goes- nothing super explicit though please. Yaoi, yuri, het, furry, fan art (send refferences) and such. Whatever. It's non-exclusive though- I'll use the commission on etsy and such!

Cheaper- if you just want a jpeg and don't mind me milking it for all it's worth elsewhere- etsy- then $5 for any single full color chibi!

And her starting bid is still $1600+

Also- I want a Volks Ran.

Still angery about losing Suigintou 3 effing times! I hate Volks but still want their dolls. I have a terrible weekness for expensive things, and pretty things, and hard to find things, and many a Volks doll fits that criteria.
I don't normally draw political cartoons but this election is deadly serious. At stake are a lot of issues including fundamental freedoms, like the right to chose, which will be abolished if another Republican gets in the WH. The religious right is a MINORITY but they are taking over the government and slashing freedoms left and right. Somewhere on line is a list of books Sarah Palin WANTS TO BAN FROM ALASKA LIBRARIES!

If you are 18 register to vote and stand up for the few freedoms we still have in this country before a vocal minority strips them away! The only way to change anything in this country is to vote!

After 8 years of Republican opression under one of the stupidest presidents in history (and with the economy in shambles) it's time for a change! I've seen a couple really great bumper stickers one said "McCain: Bush's third term" and the other one "Enough is enough: Obama 08"

And McCain's answer to the oil crisis?? Off-shore drilling?? What part of oil is FINITE don't you understand!

It's even more fundamental than the economy and energy though. Rational thought is under threat! Creationism is NOT an alternative to evolution! It has no place being even mentioned in schools. Soon there will be no seperation of church and state and we will all be under an oppressive Christian regime in which freedom is gone.

Movies to watch:

Idiocracy- a comedy as insightful as it is funny and a look into the future where all intelligence is gone.

The Corporation- Corporate greed and global economies are devastating the environment and human rights across the globe.

Jamie Oliver: Terrifying Times- British comedian commenting on the state of the U.S. with accurate and indeed terrfying truth.

I was also thinking maybe I should get back to drawing my Tarot deck, but I kinda doubt it has a hope in hell of getting published, and I'm not doing 78 cards for nothing. Besides, it's not like anyone is really beating down the door for my work. It's probably kindly called mediocre. I mean I'm not laboring under some delusion that I'm some undiscovered genious.

And how cool is Photoshop CS? Is it super incredible? Am I missing out on anything? I'd like to hear from anyone with CS out there. And how hard is it to transition from Photoshop 7 to CS? It's not like starting over right??? I can't start over again! It's taken me too long to achieve mediocrity in Photoshop 7!

Sometimes I'd like to go back to art school. But I'm too old and I have to work, and I don't like being told what to do. OMG!!
A lot of you already know that I write and create comics for a living (such as that living maybe)

What I don't say a lot (at least not here) is that I'm always, ALWAYS looking for professional level artists interested in actually getting published by companies for money.

I have an excellent relationship with Image Comics/Shadowlines and no shortage of ideas. The proiblem is that most artists don't seem to want to be paid or published professionally (I KNOW I can't spell, leave me alone!) I put one up just for fun. You can see the whole thing on my lj if you want.

Soon I will be up to 3,000 page veiews after how many years on this stoopid site? I did manage to pimp both my DA and Etsy shop in the omake of DMD. AND I finally finished the synopsis for vol 2. Gawd that was like pulling teeth from chickens I swear!

I wish:
I wish I was a good artist
I wish I was popular
I wish more artists would want to draw my manga
I wish I was a better writer (prose)
I wish I had social skills
I wish I was normal
I wish I knew how to be happy.

There is a Kurumi on DoA for sale, naked bald etc. current offet $1450. I'm still $950 in the hole for Luna. I put in an offer of $1000 but it's not enough.

My friends are going to Dolpa, there is a slim chance there will be a one-of Kurumi there. IF and only IF I can scrape together $700+ dollars will they get her for me. Or TRY as the case may be, to enter the lottery to get her. But even then they may not help me if there is one-off they want. It's selfish but I keep hoping they will help me. I can't afford to go Dolpa. I was going to and then got Luna.
I'm lucky I figured out how to post on this thing!

Everyone has my apologizies for not being very reciprical. Computers are very hard for me. I'm not much of a techological adept. So, I'm sorry when I don't get back to people.

Does anyone out there want to draw a book for Tokyo Pop? Specifically, my book. I have the contract but I need an artist. It's cute and gothy.

I am actually taking commissions! So far I've taken one which means I'll take one more or maybe two depending on how fast I get the first one done.

I'm just selling prints not originals but if you do commission me you'll get the only large print 8"x10" on nice, glossy photo paper. The commission is $10+$1.50 postage. And NO I do not take Paypal. Money orders only, please.

I hope to sell mini prints of the commissions I take. I'm just not sure WHERE yet.

Go check out my Cafepress store at [link] Most of the work that I've posted on my Deviant Gallery can be found on products there.

I'm back from San Diego Comic Con. It was good but I had too miss out on the Tokyo Pop dinner. I'm allergic to almost ALL the ingrediants in Italian food. Which SUX because I love Italian. For a full report see my LiveJournal, theres a link off my website on the links page.
