Ok. so, i made a Zine......a cool one, i think, and then i had to turn it into my teacher because it was a project. And then my scanner started to work, the day i turned my proof of productivity.


And halloween is coming up. Im torn between Edie Sedgwick, kevin Barnes, and the Free Love Movement.

Also. Why must boys either wear pants that are obviously too tight or too big?
why is it so hard to find clothes that fit????
Pants have sizes for a reason. Use them. I no longer want to see boxer flopping over the edge poser looking checkered Hot Topic cheop jeans. It gives people a bubble butt.

I feel rather grumpy and tired.

I dont have much time for anything besides Stage Croo and school work. Im loving this feeling of purpose though, even if it means making a refrigerator costume from giant Uhaul boxes. It keeps me busy and active. I have to say this though, this years YAMO has an abundance of drag. At least 45% of the women/super fabulous costumes that iv had to pull have been for men and its hard to find dresses for people who are 6 foot+. But ill scrape through somehow......

I recently participated in a class for teens with an interest in fashion design. In my area there is a rivalry between "E-Town" kids and "N-T" kids. We "E-towners" are seen as a little rough around the edges, some might go as far to say that we are "Ghetto" because our school is immense, like 4,000 students immense. We live closer to the city and our families arnt as "Up-Scale" as the airs that come of NT kids. Well, in this class, i was the sole ETHS (E-Town) student, surrounded by NT girls.

As you know, my style is very eclectic and "Avant Garde" as the teacher would call it. Because of my talent, i was praised above some of the other girls. One of the girls in the class said her mother was a clothing buyer for some big store, which she seemed to assume that it meant she would have some magic design talent.

One girl then proceded to ask me where my talent came from. I didnt understand, so she said "Is your family......Creative?"
She seemed to be under the impression that creativity, or the ability to use your mind in an imaginative way stems directly from your parents. They were looking for an explanation, which was a little offending, as if they couldnt take the fact that i was as good. just because i couldnt name 20 designers off the top of my head.

Well, to be honest i dont know where it comes from. I dont think anyone really "knows" where creativity starts. My parents are bankers. Hard working math and science driven people, my dad has a degree in neuroscience but took over for my grandfather in the bank he worked at when he died, my mom is a mathamaticion, perfect for a banking job.

I have no real interest in either field, all i wanna do is be an artist. Its a compulsion, something i have no control over, like the need to breath, the need to draw is just as important to me. I dont think that parents should be the only reason for talent. I know that it is amazing that my family is actualy supportive with what i want to do, i know that the words. "Mom, Dad, Sis? I want to be an ARTIST" are not always met with happy smiles.

It just really gets my goat when people like those NT girls rely on their parents talent, hoping that it will pass to them, like a dog waiting for scraps from the table. I want to say that everything i make is a collaborated effect of everything in my life but also something that is soley mine.

I think i got super side tracked, whatever. Im tired and grumpy, there's no food and its so freaking hotttt. UGGHAA
forget what i said, might as well ignore this journal, its a long boring one.

Im really tired. iv been really kinda down/sick all weekend. sorta.
i saw coraline WHICH WAS BEUTIFUL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And my sister and i went on a little road trip (sorta)
we went down state, taking pictures of a million cornfields along the way. We posed next to a few signs, i dunno,we were kinda bored. Her friend greg came with us. We bought loads of junk foot/snakcie things in this sketchy little mom and pop store somewhere between a cornfield and a non.....cornfield.

all in all, a really good day.
we listened to some really nice stuff during our little adventure, like animal collective,of montreal, micheal buble (all her) and some justice as well. It was cool

Im really not to exited right now, its kinda late and i had a really creepy nightmare that some man in a suit with a stuffed rabbit head was going to murder me in my sleep. To say the least, it was a rather eventful night.

Im really not a very materialistic person,yet i have this strange urge to go out and buy crap that i dont want/need. I bought a stapler with colored staples,got home and asked myself. "what the crap am i suposed to do now?"

I returned it to the store, the manager was really cool about it because it took me forever to find the recipt. Only two more days of finals,then a 4 day weekend kind of. Im looking forward to it. I dont really have any plans,but i wont be in school,which will be nice.

I recently got into the russian version of winnie the poh. its pretty fantastic.thers this eerie harpsicord,it vaugly reminds me of the forbidden zone,which was a thoroughly odd film. heres a link for Winnie the Poh-russian style [link]

.......Finals are next week, thats one thing i am not looking forward to, but soon they will be over and we can all relax a little. I wish summer would hurry up and come so i can live at the beach for a while, i love living right near a huge body of water,and living only a few blocks from the beach. Its quite nice.


I have some new stuff for you all........when my scanner isnt so bitchy i can upload them,which will be cool.

In other news, i have been having a huge massive brick wall type of artists block. Its like theres this huge brick/steel plated wall in my brain, and my little brain mess things are persistantly bumping their heads on the wall, as if that will help. GAAAAAHHHHHH

When i think of a box. a cardboard one comes to mind. I remember when i was little. I paraded up and down my street with it on my head. I would get th neighbors to guess who i was because i thought i was so amusing and unique that there was no way they would be able to get it wrong.....i was sadly mistaken.

What makes you you ?

Without our face we become something else. a vessel. So i want to create something.

What are you without words, or a face to express yourself through ?

Let your clothes speak. I plan on doing this both on DA and in the real world.

They are very nice.

A Went to a party last weekend that was really cool. it was borderline rave but not exactly, and they played MGMT which you never hear anymore. I think i used to be really into them sometime during last year. I kinda like them again.

kinda wierd but kinda good

Baby Turtle is the most awesome turtle ever. He likes blueberrys and sweet potatos as my sister and i discovered a few days ago while tempting him to eat.

I really dislike the Metra train though, the L is just so much simpler, i always know where im going rather than having the Metra which only goes certain places on certain days.


Im kinda exited about the way iv been drawing lately, its nicer and the style is more fluid, i alwaysed really liked combining real stuff and weird stuff. When i was little, i never drew ears.

Insted i would always make wings sprouting from where the ears were suposed to be. My mum and dad though i was crazy for a while because i couldnt grasp the concept of "ear"...........now i can draw ears ^_^

In history we're learning about plato and all his phillosophy. Its pretty interesting, all his concepts of whats real and whats not. It was weird because right after history i have Geometry H and we wached a good film called "Flatland" it was kinda weird because the two things meshed together.

i love dance music. its so good and spazmotic. it makes me think of tecnicolred things and such. The Go! Team is a fantastic testiment to this crazygonuts kinda stuff.

Kinda swamped with school stuff but its not like its any diferent than any other day. My family is basicly leaving me at home for a few days (tecnicly my dad will be there but he works late) i dont really know what im going to do with all my enjoyable free time. I think ill spend most of the time outside drawing or sketching. I made this really nice portait in blue pastels but my scanner cant handle the size of it sooo i cant put it up here which is unfortunate.

I recently started hanging out with some friends from an art class. We spent the day in the city,just walking around i guess, people watching is more apropriate. Had an interesting conversation with a security guard in a museum.

All in all, a pretty good week. see you all sometime soon

we saw this great movie called "terra" and it was animated and wonderful because they had floating sky whales.
Then we saw "Man on Wire" which was about the guy who tightrope walked between the twin towers. Which was also amazing because of al the footage they had of him doing this crazy stuff.

Today we saw "War,inc." which had John Cusac (who i kinda sorta love) and it was a lovely blood bath.

Finaly we saw "hamlet 2" which is comming out soon and i think everyone should see it because its amazing. Theres one part where the main guy is trying to write his play and he turns and looks at his cat and he yells "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU STARING AT ??!!?$#@#$" and it was priceless because the cat just blinks and sits there, watching him go crazy.

We're going to the film festival they hold in her town and its always a blast so that should be good.

Today i went to the beach and it was crazy awesome. We sat around on the sand and pulled roots out of the ground. then we went back to pats house and played with his cats who love me (especialy shelly. she is my love interest) Then some of his friends came and we sorta locked them out of his house....... untill they pulled a pedofile move and came in through his bedroom window. Then we watched Invader Zim and it was really fun.

so iv been doing some stuff i could turn into designs for that kind of stuff, i got some pretty skin safe markers today and im really exited to try them out on someone.

maybe ill take pictures of them and put them up here just for kicks.

Today i helped my friend clean out her fridge and i swear it was the funnest thing EVER !!!!!!! they had old salad dressing from 2004 and all this old crap (her family is slightly odd...... and vegitarian)

so we made fun of all the fake meat brand names like 'soyrizo" and "meatys meat-free pattys" it was really funny.
