But last week I found out my cat Shmitten had cancer and yesterday she died. I loved her so very much and she will be so badly missed. A little piece of me is gone today.

How are you all?

It's been a busy year on the whole and I have not managed to get much personal work in, no muse images :( but lots of time to reflect on where I want the series to go.

If you are in the USA you will see a few spiral book covers emerge over the next year. I have produced about six or seven over the course of the year ... they tend towards the 'buffy' genre for some reason? never really had spiral down as that but it's fun taking the style down unexpected paths as is often the case in the commercial world. Some CD covers too and a bit of advertising work for trojan condoms and the south bank center.

Lots of work in my illustrative stylee too - [link] - been having real fun on the editorial scene with that style and in the spare time I have mustered I have been concentrating on developing that approach ... I have a sneaking feeling the styles may get a little closer over the course of next year. Hopefully I will have some time to dedicate to spiral in 09.

I was pretty surprised to get nominated for erotic photographer of the year, I was even more surprised to get shortlisted. It is a testament to an open minded panel of judges that would allow manipulated work to reach the final ... I was dead chuft! I did not win but I was truly touched to be amongst the four finalists ... at least one other is here on DA ... my work was exhibited at night of the senses and is now in a semi-permanent show i London which will travel on to the skin two expo next month.

I designed a tat for Sair ... you can see it here ... ... I have had a tree on my left upper arm and have now designed an extention so it will come down to my elbow and across my back. A tattoo adiction might be a dangerous thing in the hands of an illustrator.

Three more shoots with Sarah are in the bag and I will be starting work on them soon so more muse series to come. Also setting up shoots with new models so I will be starting my portrait series soon

Exhibition

Exhibited ... ... in London last month, it also appeared on the back cover of design week I believe. Part of a collective instilation with my new agent ... about 60 artists took part and the horizon ran through the instilation with each artist creating a panel. I have made a new years resolution to take my flash off my camera and only use my read-head from now on, it was making me lazy!

I like to watch the starlings massing, they fly around in a huge group on the horizon (what's the right word for a group of starlings?) making incredible shapes in the sky, trouble is I can't watch them now without living for the weekend by hard-fi coming to mind ... damn you advertising people you have spoilt it all!!

Been having a major wobble about my work recently but I guess someone likes it because ...

No speak for a while very busy sorting my new home, builder will be starting soon and my new studio will be born from the fly infested attic space. We have an autumn fly infestation ... they are trying to hibernate ... it's a bit amityville up there but once the walls are properly sealed they will not be able to enter, well, that's the theory! but woa! what a space it is, I am very exited I will eventually have a 44ft beamed studio with our bedroom at the end ... open plan ... very exiting!

Well OK it's not dark or particularly satanic but it is a mill & it is in England and it is where I am going to live :)

Moving down to Cornwall so sorry I have not had time to reply & thank, I will be without internet for a while to but I am almost desperate now to do some personal work so expect some in the near future, I had a rush of commissions leading up to the move so I really want to do some personal stuff.

Oh man! it's a very old building with a huge amount of work that needs doing and 5 acres of land that is pretty much wild but what can I say it felt like home the second I drove up to the place.

And it has a river! and a lake! and swans nest there! it was used as a fish farm once and there are still huge koy carp in there! it has a tower too! and maybe bats :)

I feel lucky to have found it and possibly a bit mad to have bought it.
