...is actually not bad. Not bad at all.

Why I have completely avoided the books/movies for all these years is a complete mystery now that I look at it.

I have spent the last week of my vacation watching the first five movies on DVD...twice! What the hell? And now I seriously consider dragging myself to the cinema and watch the latest one.

I'm even going to read the books. Very strange.

It's not until now I know what all the fuss is about. J.K. Rowling IS actually some sort of genius...granted, she's not the new Tolkien or anything, but to come up with a world like that...wow. That's highly admirable.

And now I know who these guys are: [link] Kitt, you lucky lucky girl : )

So...yeah...I believe I'm having a so-called epiphany for the moment.
Don't expect me to explode in HP fanart, though. Perhaps a little drawing will sneak in here and there, but nothing massive : D

On a side note: Haven't been drawing much this summer. I've started a crap-load of drawings, but find it very difficult to finish any of them.
First of all, I hope you all had a grand Christmas/Kwanzaa/Hanukkah/Whatever you like to celebrate at that time of year - and a New Year of epic proportions : D Welcome to 2009, let's wear more big hats this year, shall we?

(you may stop reading right here and jump to the bottom of the journal, if you prefer a bitching-free evening. And please excuse my grammar - I am very upset)

Okay, so I need to get some air here, and hooray, it's on a topic that nearly everyone can relate to!

STUPID "HEY-LOOK-AT-ME-I-GOT-STRAIGHT-A'S AND DON'T GIVE A SH*T ABOUT ANYBODY ELSE" GIRLS

Yes, we all know them don't we.

At school, we have 3 of those in our class. Oh the joy T_T

Today we had the last finals in Christianity - the most ridiculous and time-waisting class on Earth - and these 3 twats came around very early,(even though it wasn't their turn until much later) just to snoop around and find out what grades everybody ended up with.

People are allowed to be nosy - I really don't mind that - but when they start to make everybody nervous with their "ho mah gawd, I'm liek nevah gonna pass!" 4 FRIGGING HOURSE before it's their turn, I get upset - to put it mildly. Cos these girls ALWAYS pass! Seriously, they always get really high grades for every bloody thing they do. All they have to do is fart, and their marks fly up.

It's also all right to be nervous. Hell, I'm always nervous at these things. But why must these girls turn the spotlights on them, when there were persons in much more need of support? There were people biting their nails to blood over a goddamn exam, and the 3 gits just didn't care!

And as if that wasn't enough, they craved for the rest of us to stroke their bursting egos, when they came out with grades so high that people shat bricks of nervousness.

When someone else actually managed to get a good grade, the gits just said "oh how nice" and when someone failed, they were more than willing to share out hugs and "awwwwww"'s. Disgusting, when you could see them gloat at the same time.

I was one of those who failed - and I'm quite fine with that. I really couldn't care less. Of course I don't like the thought of reading even more boring crap again, but what the hell...it's not the end of the world.

But there was this one girl who was in tears because she failed. The gits acted all false and sympathetic towards her, only to call her something really awful when she had left.

Had I been there, I would have kicked their asses!
- but alas, I heard it from a friend...bugger.

I don't envy them, please don't think that. They can keep their high grades for all I care. They're disgusting, mean, heartless %¤&#"?/. And if that is what comes with brains, I'd rather stay stupid and gullible.

If I understood everything as easy as they do, I would help those who didn't.
I thought that was common sense...
That's why they make me so unbelievably angry. They step all over the people 'not smart enough' and don't give a crap if they hurt them.

I really hope that one day they will end up in the same situation as the people they've hurt...not that I think they would notice. They would propably just go BAAAWWWWWW and crave for sympathy.

They will never get any sympathy from me. Ever. And the next time one of them as much as thinks about being demeaning to someone else, I shall go ballistic on their asses.

~End of rant~

Ahhh that was nice : )

So! Anybody with New Year resolutions?

Mine is cutting down on cigarettes...oh and get out more, especially on weekends : )

What's yours?

Have you seen that movie 'The Golden Compass'?

'Yes I have': Feel free to read on.

'No I have not': Perhaps you should stop now - following outlet of frustration will contain very mild spoilers.

Yet...be you one of those persons in doubt whether or not this movie is worth paying for, do read on. This is, after all, my humble attempt to keep your hard earned money from the pockets of the people behind 'The Golden Compass'.

Made up your mind?

Sure?

Alrighty then...

Today, me and went to see said movie...

It sucks in so many levels, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry as I sat there in the cinema, listening to the money being flushed out the toilet.

First of all: The story. What the Hell is that??I mean - it's probably what you can expect from the fantasy-genre these days...but who wrote that book? A 12-year-old??

Being Scandinavian, I couldn't help but to puke a little inside, whenever someone's name was mentioned - or a place for that matter.
Whoever wrote that/those books really needs to STOP shoving Scandinavian/Nordic names into a blender and use whatever comes out!!

There's a dude named Scoresby. Scoresbysund is a place on Greenland. BAD imagination! (and this comes from a person who has none)

For non-Scandinavian people it may seem like a nifty way of making up names - but it becomes really annoying listening to English actors violating Swedish, Norwegian and Finnish on regular intervals.

I may be overreacting, but 'Ragnar', 'Iorek', and 'Bolvangar' are repeated so often it starts hurting the brain after 10 minutes.

The movie evolves around the Island of Svalbard, which is fine by me. It's even spelled correctly. But the author has chosen to re-name Sweden and Norway into Sveden and Norveg...O_o WTF???

I kept thinking about the so-called genius who wrote 'Eragon'. The method is the same: look up some random words from countries half of the world doesn't even know the existence of, and batter them to pieces, so they will fit into your stoopid story.

This method is the reason why both Eragon and The Golden Compass has hit rock bottom in Danish cinemas.

The level of irritation simply becomes too high.

And now for the Acting:

Having seen alot of movies, I consider myself in the position to judge whether or not there is a case of bad acting. And people, this is baaaad acting.
It's so bad not even Nicole Kidman can do anything about it. The actors (if one can call them that) are completely void of all passion. You don't believe a word they say, and after 1 hour of absolute nonsense (the manuscript sucks too), you forget what is going on.

It's one of those movies where you can go to the loo in the middle of it all, stroll down to the corner for a sandwich, have a fag and still not miss anything of importance.

And there are animals - ANIMATED animals who can talk and change shape and hooray...gah so many talking animals >_<

I haven't read the book and I don't intend to - so it's kinda difficult to decide who to blame...the pot-heads who wrote the manuscript or the sorry excuse of an author...I guess I'll just blame both...that should cover it.

I'm not disappointet. I'm not bitter. I'm just appalled that this movie exists.

I suggest you give your money to the needy instead of spending it on The Crappy Compass...

Anywho...

For the 2 people still reading this:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS YOU GUYS!!!

Spread love and all that, and remember to say 'thankyou', even though the curry-yellow sweater from aunt Maude wasn't really what you wished for.

Just a little example of exactly how pathetically boring and unimaginative me and my buddy, Kenneth are some times.

Please note that I am posting this on a Friday. Friday means weekend, which means freedom, which again means that young folks should be going out and enjoy their youth.

It's a good thing I don't believe that you can waste your youth...

(txt-messages)

Kenneth: 'We'll just meet up in the club tonight, eh?'
(translated: you and I never go anywhere. We rarely meet at all without ending up in front of the tv, eating whatever's in the fridge and complain about people 5 years younger than ourselves. Let's rub it in and have a laugh on our own, sad expense.)

Me: 'Sure we will. You're still bringing fruit-salad, right?'
(translated: yes, let's rub it in. I will now spice it up a little, by pretending that fruit-salad is allowed in clubs, and we're going to a really fun fun fun party.)

Kenneth: 'Yes I am bringing fruit-salad...and my chestnut-animals.'
(translation: I shall jump on your band-wagon and start making no sense at all.)

Me: 'I am just gonna look for the hand-held mixer one more time...if I don't find it, there's no other choice but to go shopping for one.'
(translated: we are now, in this very moment, ready to call ourselves 'old and completely devoid of any sense of humour'.)

Kenneth: 'Ooookayyyy that's like gonna ruin the entire evening if you like don't have one!!'
(translated: I am officially bored as Hell. Please put me out of my misery.)

Me: 'I know, I know. It's a MAJOR stress-factor!'
(translated: I am hungry. I wonder what's in the fridge?)

Kenneth: 'Hrmpf'
(translated: Gotta go watch Spongebob Squarepants. Let's call it a night.)

I have no idea what point I wanted to make with this...

Anywho...HAPPY FRIDAY, BOYS N' GIRLS! Enjoy your weekend!

Seriously. I mean it...ENJOY your weekend.

(EDIT: Kenneth just made himself a profile here on DA. [link] Go scare the shit outta him, if you please. - and if he doesn't reply, it's because he only recently learned how to send an e-mail...)

Sensitive people and fans of swimming-pools, ye be warned!

In the following, there will be dealt with various secretions of the human body, and I will reveal why swimming in-door is REALLY BAD for your health, spite the fact that someone might claim the opposite.

Ready? Ok, here we go then:

Swimming baths are gross. They disgust me immensely. Who the devil came up with the idea in the first place? (The Romans, probably, but see where it got them - - -they're all dead!)

You make a laaarge basin, pour millions of gallons of fresh water in it and add tons of chlorine. And WHY do they put chlorine in it???

Because people swim in it.
Old people with weak bladders. Kids with small bladders, who pee everytime someone says 'water'. Hormonally tortured teenagers with untimely ejaculation and a very relaxed view on personal hygiene. Toddlers who are still in their diapers, but let's face it: diapers do NOT keep everything in.

We've all seen it: children in swimming baths/pools, who stand very still all of the sudden for about 15 seconds, before they start splashing around again. Hell, we've probably all done it ourselves at some point, but that doesn't make it less disgusting!

And have you ever noticed the stuff that floads around on the bottom of these pools from Hell?
Pubic hair, bogeys, dead skin cells, ear wax, nails, the stuff that cling to your toes when you take off your socks and whatever people don't wash off before getting into the water.
Just think of the poor bastard who empties the filters; he/she has one of the most revolting jobs in the world if you ask me! They are heroes!

Swimming baths/pools are like jumping into a tub of bathwater that has been used by 12.000.000 people before you.

The human organism can't absorb pure chlorine without suffering damages...then why the hell are we freely swimming in it?!?

Chlorine does NOT clean the water. The gross things are still there, they're just not visible to the human eye.

Remind yourself of this the next time you hop into a pool, and wonder what it is you just stepped in.

DISGUSTING I SAY!

---And if your doctor prescribed you exercise in the form of swimming, he/she is a disgrace to his trade. Just say no.

Now...never tried this before, so I might as well start off with something we can all relate to:

Useless Information:

Human beings have TWO nostrils (!)

BUT we only breathe through ONE at the time.

So...if you are breathing through your LEFT nostril this very moment, please notice the exact time you start breathing through your RIGHT nostril (or vice versa)...

You will then discover that your nostrils 'switch' every 4th hour.
