OMG! I've been watching the trailers for FFXIII and been drooling all over the place!!! It looks fantastic!!! AARRRGGHHH!!!! I want it i want it i want it!!! 3 more months to go! I hope the Australasian release includes the original theme by Sayuri Sugawara rather than Leona Lewis...

Oh and I got myself a 2 year subscription to Imagine FX magazine! Can't wait for the 1st issue to start arriving! Getting the sub means I'll only have to pay NZ$12 per issue instead of NZD$27 like I do now. I love that magazine! It's an awesome resource and inspiration for digital artists. It's great flicking through it and recognising the works by artists on deviantart Have a look at the website http://www.imaginefx.com/ if you haven't heard of it before

I did it! I got myself one! An early birthday present from me to myself (^_^) It's so shiny and sleek and just super duper cool! Even the box is cool! I get some free software with it. I really like Corel Sketchpad for my doodles. And I'm learning how to use Corel Painter and Photoshop. It's my very first tablet and I splashed out on it, but it's worth it I'm not going to give up traditional media, but going digital gives me more confidence with the use of colour and gives me room to experiment. Hopefully this will show in my traditional work.

I'm a complete noob with digital art, so please bear with me while I experiment!

On other things, been super busy with work so haven't done much art at all. Trying to get back into it.

Blog and Vampire fiction...

I haven't blogged in a while, so here goes...

Work's been busy and stressful as usual. I'm not having to work so much overtime at the moment so it's good (touchwood) I've accumulated about 5 weeks worth of annual leave and hoping to take some time off. Do some more travelling.

Doing a lot of reading at the moment. Especially good to curl up next to the fire with a good book since it's autumn and cold My friends have convinced me to read Twilight. It's okay. I think the book is waaaay better than the movie. One thing gets to me though - I like romance and mushy stuff, but I can only take a certain amount of "I'm so much in love with Edward!" I hear the books get better so I'll keep reading. Vampire Knight and Fevre Dream (by George R R Martin) hold the special place in my heart for vampire stories Dracula and Interview with a Vampire hold 2nd place. Then Buffy I think. Haha, now that I think of it, Yuuki does a lot of "I'm so much in love with Kaname!" too!

But yeah, I highly recommend "Fevre Dream" by George R R Martin. It's totally gripping and dark. Joshua York is the name of the main vampire and the story is set in 19th century America. I've read it a few times and still leaves me with that nostalgic feeling... Hehe, if I had to imagine York as an anime character, he would look like Kaname with Zero's hair or an older Riku from Kingdom Hearts

I'm currently working on a series of drawings for Valentines day and I'm really excited about it. I don't think I'll be able to complete all by the 14th, but oh well... I actually meant to paint all of them, but IchiRuki turned into colour pencil work. I'll see how the others go (^_^)

Any special requests for pairings?

So I'm back at WoW - World of Work. If only I could unsubscribe... It's not too bad. My brain's still a bit mushy from holidays, but it feels good to be doing things instead of blobbing out in front of the TV!

I finished reading The Liveship Traders trilogy by Robin Hobb. I absolutely LOVED it! It's brilliant and so original. Loved it, loved it, loved it!!! I would like to do some fanart for it later when I have time

Oooo, and my Bleach Souls Character book arrived today. It's cool! The cover is nice and shiny! I ordered more books today - D Grayman, Tsubasa Chronicle, Sakura Cardcaptors, and Buso Renkin mangas. Just one volume each. It's a very expensive hobby. I need a new book shelf...

I can't believe Christmas is over! All that planning & it's all over in a day! I had a good one though I had to cook ham and make trifles for a family lunch. It was all edible, so I couldn't ask for better Hope everyone had a nice Christmas

Some presents I got:

- Chocolates
- Lego (^_^)
- and I got myself some books and anime Tsubasa Chronicle & xxxHolic movie, Elemental Gelade box set, Bleach Souls Collection book, Arthur Rackham artbook, pre-ordered Bleach vol 26, and other stuff. I notice that you don't get many presents when you get older, so you have to get them yourself That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I admit I've been very bad and haven't drawn much since my last deviation post. I started another WIP and doodle Bleach fanart in my sketch book, but that's about it. There's just so many things I want to do and so little time!!!! And yes, being lazy is one of the things I want to do...

I'm trying to reclaim my life after devoting insane weeks of slavery to my work. It's getting there - I only have to log in to work for a few hours tonight. Look for me under "Sucker for Punishment" (O_o)

I would love to post a finished deviation soon, so I will try very hard to finish one of my WIPs! Send me good deviant vibes!

It's Sunday night and for the first time, I'm looking forward to Monday.. It's my birthday! Yay! Looking forward to going out with my mates after work

Haven't drawn at all this weekend. Just watched the season finale of Tudors. Man, I love that show! Natalie Dormer is so pretty. I want to draw more of her and Jonathan Rys Myers.

So stoked cuz I found some manga I previously bought but haven't read! Got quite a few at an expo and didn't get around to reading all of them. Sweet!

So I haven't started anything new since the Rachel Bilson drawing. I have to upload more WIPs of it. Will do that this weekend + another portrait of another celebrity. My sister keeps sending me lots pictures to draw!

Been busy at work. Got job interviews coming up within the next few weeks. It'll be a huge promotion, so I hope I get the job!

Oh and I've got a new little niece! She was born this morning I'm visiting her and my sister-in-law at the hospital tomorrow.

Going to Sex in the City movie with my mates on Friday night. Don't really watch the show, but it'll be a good girls nite out!

Yay! I went shopping today and got all the stuff on my list! And I also got a table top easel which has a storage component and folds away nicely for $40! It was on sale - the stained version is like $150!!!!! So I'm really happy!

Really looking forward to trying out watercolour. I recently bought Stephanie Pui-Mun Law's fabulous Dreamscapes artbook, and has been dying to give the tutorials a go!

Blending Sticks!!!

I've never used blending sticks before, but I've got to get me some of these!!!! Saw them on other people's tutorials. Yay! No more black fingers!!!

So this is what my shopping list currently looks like:

- blending sticks
- kneadable eraser
- good quality paintbrushes
- masking tape for watercolour paper
- more art books!
- and last but not least, snacks...lots and lots of 'em...
