if you want to know when your favorite comic book comes out on the shelves, you naturally go to the publisher's website. And once a week, that's exactly what i do. First i go to DC to see if there's anything interesting coming out (not to mention dc has this short animated strip called gotham girls or something that's actually cute to watch. harley's my favorite). After, i shift gears and go to Top Cow for the return of micheal turner's aspen, magdalena, if ever there's a new aria series, witchblade. Then i go to the site i dread the most. marvel online.

there's just something wrong with that website. For a company who's among the top ranks in the comicbook industry, that site just doesnt cut it. it's slow (probably bec. of how much flash stuff they placed in there) it hangs. and worse of all, it's never updated.

for the past 3 weeks i've been trying to check when 1602 issue 6 comes out. for the past 3 weeks, the whole month of january, comprising 4 weeks of 'comics on sale' pages said the same things. the same comic books were being released week after week. today, i found out it was released last week. my reaction: "... shit." see, 1602 is written by neil gaiman and marvel isnt printing a lot of it. issues are limited.

so what to do now? *ahem.
dear marvel e.i.c., (quesada i think)
this is probably one of the reasons why marvel is starting to lose to DC and losing money. we have to guess when the comic books are coming out.

When i was in the small little college downtown, i couldnt wait to get out of that small little college and into the lovely university called ubc. Imagine. ubc should be more fun. its a bigger campus-- much bigger that 2 and a half floors shared with bcit. there are more people. there should be loads of stuff to do during breaks.
guess what. i was wrong.
ubc is boring. theres nothing to do during breaks and you cant really stare at the sky because of vancouver weather-- its always cloudy, the sun doesnt exist. yes, its a bigger campus but after awhile, it gets tiring walking from one end to another in less than 10 mins just to get to class. And since i came in in the middle of the semester and on my second year, its also harder to make friends because everybody is pretty much established their own little groups already. To get my coffee, i have to walk 10 mins as oppose to just crossing the street before.
needless to say, i miss downtown. people were more interesting to watch. the mall was right behind the little college and food wasnt hard to find (in fact, the harder thing was deciding what to eat coz you're surrounded by food places) i cant get my mondo gelato anymore, i cant go look at books at chapters, i cant play my time crisis 3 etc. not to mention everybody in the university seem to like hanging out in the lib to study.
for short, i'm bored. and boredom never really suited me well coz when i'm in school, bored out of my wits, i start to do something that isnt very crammer me like-- i start to study and i really dont like to study during breaks.
how sad is that?

its snowing! in vancouver! as in snowing like crazy that i took me about 5 minutes to walk home on my street yesterday coz i had to guess which part of it is ice and which part of it is snow. in fact, i even slipped on a patch of ice in ubc yesterday. didnt see it coz it was covered in lovely snow. and today. today is the day where itll snow and snow and snow 30 cms of new snow. and school is cancelled coz public transpo is slow and people just cant drive much. i mean, i was waiting for 45 minutes in the bus stop awhile ago and all the busses were full and the cars were going about 3o km/h only... too bad its gonna rain tom. snow's cute
stuff that got stolen that i have to say goodbye to... which is sad
money. wallet. my whole batman: Hush series that i collected one by aching one with all the covers. my 1602 collection which i had a hard time finding issue one. all of the new releases of robotech in wildstorm comics. my continuation of xtreme xmen-- all of them. aria. roman dirge. kingdom come (yes the one by alex ross), the magdalena 1-3 vol 2, darkness #1, Witchblade #1... i wont go on. this is depressing. for short, they stole my whole comic book collection. i went to the comic book store every weds for those. now they're all gone. so now i have to pull some favors coz i want most of those back. the hush series and the magdalena and the 1602 and the kingdom come especially.

final exams this week. i'm done with 2 i have 2 more to go. unfortunately i've gone brain dead. after that statistics finals awhile ago, i'd really rather not see anything with probability.
on a lighter note about school, my econ teacher said something really funny awhile ago. he said "there's something interesting about your midterm. you got all the hard questions right and the easy ones wrong." and written on my midterm 2 at the bottom of the page where i answered one of those easy questions i got wrong, was my name... followed by 3 question marks and 3 exclamation marks. ^^ he also said he gave me partial points coz in his words " i know you know what your doing, you just got all the numbers wrong." and after that, i really had to smirk and say 'thanks sir.' hahahaha its one of those mistakes like my math midterm a couple of months ago. 100-10=99... riiiiight.

my cousin and i made banana muffins today-- to think that i thought baking class in highschool was the most useful, yet the most idiotic subject the administration had us take. not so idiotic after all. ^^ i was cutting and folding and sifting stuff... and now the house smells yummy.... i suddenly know what hansel felt like when he saw the gingerbread house.

another thing about food. we went to Samba's yesterday-- a brazilian restaurant that had all- you- can- eat meat. the waiters came out with the meat and asks you if you want some and slices some for you if you say yes. my my did i have fun. The food was sooo good. all you can eat meat. they had veal, and calf and steak and roast beef and chicken and quail and deer and buffulo and ostrich and lamb and shrimps and much much more. *evil grinz and i ate them all! but then i had to stop eating when everybody gave up . but for 26 bucks that was worth it. that was soooooooo worth it. *grinz samba's, "i'll be back" *evil laugh

i actually like taking the bus everyday to school. but there are some things that are really stupid. like how the company has free copies of bus scheds but the sched is rarely followed. its always plus minus five minutes. Sometimes im in the bus stop for 30 minutes-- but the bus is suppose to come every 10-12 mins... its ok during the summer. its not that bad during spring and early fall-- but winter? in the rain?? when its
about 4 degs out with a wind chill of 0 degs??? and then there are just times you know you're going to catch the bus and be on time for class... and the bus is late 10 mins... and your teacher just recently learned how to lock the door so that late students cant come in... not very happy happy is it?
Then there's the occasional rude bus driver who's trying to catch up with his sched or is just plain rude. gods, its like you want to stranggle them when you step inside the bus. But you cant coz if you do, you're never going to get to your destination.
Another thing thats irritating. Why is it that when the bus is already crowded i.e. people are already standing, the bus driver just likes to step on the brake so hard that people just bump each other like dominoes?
To those bus drivers, i have a song for you. "Hell with the bus driver bus driver bus driver, hell with the bus driver bus driver man."

Sorry, i just had to rant-- riding the bus isnt that bad but like everything else, it has its moments.
