So I've started sketching again. For some reason I've just been in a drawing slump. I've done a few large projects this year, but not a lot of just free sketching. Those lovely little exercises that get you warmed up for some serious drawing or just jotting down ideas, yeah, I've been not doing those. Now I've started again, which is something I need to do. I partly blame work and the fact that certain games have eaten sections of my life. *cough* The rest of the blame lays squarely at my feet in the form of just being lazy. I'm trying to remedy that now. I hope it sticks before National Novel Writers Month eats my life again in November. *chuckle*

It's been nearly a year since I wrote something in my journal. I was never one to write too much to begin with, but I didn't think it'd been that long. Anyway....

News:

I reworked my Colette from Tales of Symphonia so that it doesn't suck as much. I like the new version much better. I replaced the old version with it. Definite improvement over the other.

My dear friend got me the most wonderful present and I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for it. <3 <3 Maybe I'll actually finish some of the art I've started now. o.O

All I did was log out and come back a little later to try to log in and suddenly the password that's worked for the entire time I've had this account, doesn't work. I don't get it. I seriously don't get it. At least I'm back in now. I'm still angry though.

My hard drive died two weeks ago. Since then I've been having to rebuild my computer and every program I had on it. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of my art. Not my personal art, but the ones I'd downloaded for reference material or that I thought were awesome. My Tales Games section suffered the worst followed by my My Little Pony art, my icons and everything. This will teach me to back up more than every three months. *sigh* I also lost all the links to my favourite galleries and just some cool sites. It's going to take me a while to recover though. Some of those places I may never find again, which saddens me grately because they were such a lucky find to begin with.

The good news is that my Photoshop works again and I was able to finish a piece for the mlpartxchange before the deadline. I was worried I'd have to ask for an extension. Yay!

I also bought a huge secondary hard drive to store all my pictures on. Hopefully it'll be another six years before this hard drive dies and I can get another hard drive to back up that one. Yes, now I'm neurotic about this. So....if anyone knows of some good Tales of Symphonia, Tales of Abyss, Tales of Phantasia sites or pictures, let me know. Same for My Little Pony and anything else that's got nice art. Many thanks.

I'm horrible at posting things. About three or four years ago, I wasn't that bad, but now I'm lucky if I do once a week. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I don't think I have anything interesting to say that hasn't already been said. Also, with a better job, I don't have nearly the amount of stress and anger-fodder that I used too. Days like these make me happy I left my job at TRU and went to work other places that are, at least, filled with less stupid people.

(I still have them, it's just more ignorance than pure stupidity.)

In honour of my cute little kitten, Howl, I've been in a very cute drawing mood. So all the doodles I've been doing at work are silly and well, cute. As soon as I get my act together, I'll finish inking in one of them and get working on actually colouring it. ^_^ I think there's going to be several cute things before I'm out of this mood.

I haven't been feeling very much like doing art. I have one commission I had to finish this week because my dear friend has been waiting since March for it. As Arashi can atest to, I was nitpicking the background again. I have a horrible habit of tinkering and tinkering and tinkering until I've over worked the picture sometimes. Then I have to start over or pick up from where I last saved it. *sigh* Luckily, this one didn't suffer from that fate. I stopped tinkering at just the right time.

On one hand I like the new categories that the powers that be have given us. It clears up some of the gray areas with some of my work. It's just a pain to have to go through and edit almost all my submissions. On the positive side, because I don't have a lot of deviations to begin with, I didn't spend hours changing the categories. I was done in less than twenty minutes. (I know somewhere, there is someone that wants to hit me with a pillow for saying that. *ducks Arashi' pillow*) <img src="http://e.deviantart.com/emoticons/b/boo.gif" width="27" height="29" alt=":boo:" title="BOO!
As I look through all my art that I can put up, I realized I've gone by so many different handles/pen names that I don't have time or the energy to go back and change them all to what I use now. Yes, I'm being lazy! I had a name for just about every fanart, style, etc. that I've drawn in. So everyone is going to have to put up with all the different names I guess. Haha! It'll be like a game. How many names do I have? *laugh*
