but it's fixed now, it seems. now comes the fun part of trying to gather all of my old info back onto it. and, to be fair, it wasn't the computer's fault that it freaked out, it was a user error of course. sometimes i'm really dumb.

on to what i need help with.....

i've been seriously writing a fantasy-type novel now for a little while. and i'm in awe of some of the artwork out there, specifically on DA, in the fantasy genre. i'm attempting some of my own, but i'm not very good at anything like that, and vectoring has its limits, at least for me. so basically, i'm looking for artists willing to help me out, in any of the following way:

- tutorials on airbrushing or the like for me to learn better how to go about it myself

- artists willing to work with me in that or

- artists willing to do some work for me for very little compensation (due to me being very poor), but with all of the applicable recognition and so forth (don't worry, i don't really expect this)

- artists willing to minor work, such as simple character sheets for main characters, etc.

- a mixture of any of the above or at the very least any resources you may know of

i dunno, i know it's a stretch, but i'm really into this right now and would appreciate ANY help in the form of links, tutorials, artwork, etc.

also, i am looking for someone to draw up my maps in a better form than the digital, free software i have now (although it's a great program and has really helped me wrap my head around all of this), so if anyone is interested in that or has good resources for this, let me know. i'm trying to get my husband to help me with this, but he doesn't think he's good enough.....bless him.

you may not be interested in any of this, and i totally understand that. this is just my serious project right now and i appreciate so much of what other people can do. i know my abilities are limited and would love to work some other wonderful artists.

so, i've been really bored lately.....just mostly vectoring and writing and such. so, maybe i need a bit more motivation.

does anyone have something that they wanna work on and need some help? or something that they've started and never finished? or just an idea that needs fleshing out?

i'm up for anything.....well, pretty much anything. here's some examples:
- you do the line art for a vector, i'll color it in
- reverse of the above (me line art, you color)
- i write something, you illustrate it
- i illustrate something you've written
- you have a photo that you want vectored....i could do that

i'm pretty much up for anything in the vector/digital art, pixel art, writing (including poetry, short story, longer story....in fact i'm writing a novel that i could use some inspirational art/illustrations for), and photography areas.....and i'm willing to try anything else, too.

i dunno, just thought it would be fun to do a couple of pieces like this.

also, i guess that this means that i'm up for commissions now too (in these few formats), since i'm so bored and still don't have a job. i love vectoring, do it most every day, so if you want me to vector something, let me know. i guess i could open up a few commission slots...that could be fun. no real payment, maybe a "i scratch your back, you scratch mine" kind of thing. i'm just in the mood to make cool new art and meet cool new people on DA. i love this place.

this artist has an amazing gallery, and yet, very few pageviews/favorites. so, i'm trying to do my small part in changing that. please take a look at the following pieces (some of my favorites), and then go and take a look at his entire gallery. i especially love the unique ideas, the composition and coloring, the lighting (which is amazing!), and the just general fun attitude that his pieces have. and yes, some of this artist's work has appeared in magazines and such, but has had little exposure (it seems) on DA. (although he has had a DD [link] but it seems that did not lead to people looking at other pieces as much) so please please please....give this guy some attention! thank you.

so, we moved from boston to maryland, to make money and pay off some bills. so we are living with ryan's parents for a little while. and i'm looking for a job, but haven't been hired yet, so i'm getting pretty antsy at home all the time. and, to top it all off, i'm terribly sick now. which is funny, because it's been pretty warm down here lately. oh well. but that means i've been able to be online alot lately and been able to work on some pieces. i've got a few vectors i'm working on, so that's good. i'll post them as soon as i finish them.

unfortunately, the college that my husband goes to and i work for has started to entirely block deviantart. at first, they were just blocking search pages and the artistic nude section, but now i guess they feel that the entire site is way too "devious" for the likes of us poor kids, who have no way to regulate ourselves......or something. needless to say, i haven't been on much nor will i be able to get on much for a while. right now i'm at our local coffee shop using their wireless, cuz ENC is being stupid right now. so i'm sorry that i haven't replied to comments or thanked for fav's or put any new work up or even just been around. i miss DA. oh well, pretty soon, ryan and i will be gone from ENC and prolly from boston and living somewhere else in the real world. and that will be fun. hopefully we'll be able to afford internet, but that will probably be a priority, wrong or not. so yeah, please bear with us, and send me some love. i love getting on once a month or so, and seeing "we miss you" notes. anyways, hope everyone's holiday season was glorious!

and only 10 days till the wedding!!



i'm so very very excited!....but i gotta pack and move, even though ryan and i won't be moving into our apartment just yet. which is kind of sad....but i'm sure the honeymoon, wherever it will be, will more than make up for having to crash at my boss's house until the apartment is ready. other sad news, i think it's going to rain on the wedding day....
but we'll make it work and it will be a glorious day anyway! but here's hoping it doesnt rain!

it's finally summer here in boston. well, already halfway through. just busy with work now instead of school. oh well.

finally got PS7, so expect to see some better work and some revamped older stuff. like borders and level work. notice that my favorite {you have: no messages} is (hopefully) better now.

also got a new laptop so my other computer can be given a decent burial....after i get the rest of my pics off of it, that is. before it gobbles them all up, never to be seen again. but the laptop means i can work on my shots right after i take them, and even enjoy the sunshine and warm weather as i do. even if ryan steals it from me to do the same thing from time to time.....it brings us together. really.

- all of these shots are of people that are expressing some sort of emotion, even if that emotion is imagined by myself.
- if you notice, most of these people's faces are hidden or obscured. this is purposeful. the title of this series is {the face of the other} and how it is our job as people to look into the faces and eyes of whoever is our "other" and to find some way to love and help them.
- the "other" is anyone who is not ourself, everyone who is outside of ourself. i must look beyond myself into the face of the "other."
- this series is an identification of some of these "others."
