Well, lets look at the donor himself: a 72 year old gentleman who had apparently, through familial means or means of his own, donated his corpse to assist in this process. He clearly has no problem with displaying his wrinkled, naked, pasty body to the televised world.

What I'm trying to determine is why are people so up in arms about a public autopsy? Perhaps its the culture. The article states that only 3% of bodies in the UK are given a post-mortem inspection whereas in the US, we are saturated with television series about death (Dr. G, you're so hot in those blood soaked scrubs). Perhaps its just that the higher-ups in England are just granny-panty-wearing tightwads that have nothing better to do than concern themselves with a guy who loves science.

The latest in line for the Nobel Peace Prize is Al Gore. Now Al Gore, a man of politics who strives for world realization of the planet's current dire situation, is a seemingly unnoticed candidate for the award. That itself is another topic. My angst lies in the comments of the readers of the article. The fact that many of these comments regard global warming as a "pseudo science."

What the fuck, America?

CNN is the most information-driven network I know of; it lives off of news and information. How can people who watch, hell, even have the balls to comment on an article with such lackluster information? Take this lovely quote from a reader:

"I think it is absurd that Al Gore won the Nobel Peace Prize for raising awareness about something that is not even true."

Here is where all that is science throws its head on the desk, gnash and grind its teeth, pull at the roots of its hair and scream for the highest point in heaven to strike them down. Supposedly this is the wealthiest nation in the world where education is touted on (Even then, our education system is crap-tastic because obviously people still don't believe that our planet is near the point of ultraviolet meltdown) and yet here we have people commenting on a website dedicated to educating the masses.

This is what needs to be said: Humans ARE making an impact on the earth's climate. There are entire scientific journals dedicated to the research and proof and consequently, demise, of the Earth due to human interference. I work in an aquarium where literally more than half of the floor space has been paved in graphs and charts proving that over the past 150 years while industry and mobilization has increased so has CO2 and O3 levels in atmosphere and oceans on a significant exponential rate.

With the amount of time and effort these people go into saying that the abrupt climate differences has nothing to do with human influence, they might as well stop right there, grab a pair of running shoes, and run off a cliff. And then run back up, and fall off again. And again. At least it will save them money from hopping in their SUVs and doing it.

Since I've been in college as a Biology student, I've started doing little things here and there that might help counteract, albeit tiny, the morons of this world.

A.) Abandon my car in exchange for biking.
B.) Taking public transportation. (Fucking UC system charges students $750 a year to park in their lots but UC San Diego students can also grab a free year-long bus pass. Schweet)
C.) Stop eating certain types of foods because of the waste generated from manufacturing. God, I'm turning into a hippie but man, Cheetos are nasty anyway. Nothing that crunchy, that orange, should ever be ingested by man.

I'm really exhuasted from hearing the rest of the world bash on Americans. They constantly put us down, saying we're fat, burger-loving idiots who do nothing more than poke our fat selves and riddle(sp?) other nations with bullets. Well, that might be 25% of the nation, but the rest of us came from your countries. We came from Korea, from the Phillipines, from England, Botswana, Argentina, Paraguay...you get the idea; we all felt the same struggles as you did, making us no less worse off than the rest of the world. Nations see America as the milk-and-honey nation while in reality it's not. There is less poverty in the Netherlands than there is in America (and better health care too). Japan, China, and Korea have the best education systems out there, churning out some of the brightest people.

What am I trying to say here? I'm just trying to say that Americans are not a seperate country. It is the offspring of other nations.

We are not blubbering idiot soccer moms or incompetant politicians. We too have to struggle to make it in the world, have to endure a night of not having a bed to sleep in.

Certainly I am not saying that America is the nicest country around, but neither are the countries I mentioned above either. But this does not mean that we are all essentially Bush-loving Industrialists. Not everyone in America agrees with Congress as would not every North Korean would appreciate what Kim Jong-Il is doing.

This is in response to all the years of hearing my mom (a Korean) bash on America and their children, saying that American children are idiots and "stupid in comparison to other nations." Hate to break it to you, mom, but I popped out of you in California, which is essentially a U.S state, since I last checked. This is also in response to all the dA international members who abhor the American system of living. If you don't like it, that's fine. But just because there are a few bad apples, does not mean that the whole bussel has rotted.

Her eyes are red and wet with tears. A man dressed in black robes places his hand on her shoulder. What used to be fingernails have been replaced by razors, sharp enough to puncture flesh and this is what the man does. He makes small individual slices down the length of her arm. The girl wants to scream, she wants to cry, but she does not. The hands reach for her face from behind, digging its nails into her flesh and she is swallowed into darkness.

I had this dream several nights ago. It was the most horrific dream I ever had. I told this to a friend and he, with his profound wisdom (heh), pointed out that I was that girl. I used to mutilate my arms with razors when I was younger. It was the only way for me to escape my problems. It made me realize my faults. Why must the state push their youth into obvious useless activities? By requirement , I have to take an Ethics class. WTF? Ethics? This country is so fucked up by other countries' standards that there are no ethics to discuss. The state expects their youth to be well-rounded. What honestly are the odds of you sitting in an interview and the interviewer asks, "What have been the principle methodological issues in studies of wealth and income distribution?" or "How well acquainted are you with people in economic classes different from your own?" I reallly loved the entire cartoon sense of the game. These days everyone has been so wrapped up in realisim that playing this game was a nice tasty break from Doom 3, Splinter Cell, Final Fantasy, etc.

The one thing about this game that made it just fun was the fact that it wasnt a game where all you did was continually smash away at the [] button. Like its predecessor, it required planning-before-doing, something I didnt grasp at 5 years old.


One small issue:

Why did the Prince slowly strip himself down?
