This isn't exactly where I thought I'd be, but it'll do. Being creative begins again now, anyway, I swear it and that's what you guys care about the most, isn't it?

Want proof? Here. A teaser for you guys. Now that it exists, I can't leave it empty for long. I'm paying for that sucker, after all.

What'll it be? Not saying yet. I have this habit of jinxing myself when I divulge project plans. You'll see. You'll see. By January 1st, with bits and pieces appearing before then, you'll see. For those who've forgotten, The Prophecy of the Circle is the title of the novel trilogy that I've been planning/writing/re-writing/making perfect since I was twelve or so. This won't be the books themselves, but it's a story and it's a lead-in. That's your clue.

Now back I go to making things for it.

Some of the stress-causing issues are still ongoing. My life is starting to slow down a bit, but I'm not in a position to relax quite yet. For example, next weekend I start packing various belongings into boxes and between the first and the tenth of October I'm moving to a new apartment. I have a lot of tupperware to get rid of. Where it all came from, I have no idea, but rest assured that most of it will not follow me.

I'm also working on going back to school. I was accepted to Athabasca University to finish off the Professional Writing and Communications Bachelor Degree that I started at Grant MacEwan. I desperately need to talk to an advisor before I start, though, so I'm putting that plan on hiatus until after I'm moved and settled. After talking to the advisor and getting all of my student loan information in place, I should be ready to start. January seems like a good deadline to aim for. If it's sooner, huzzah, but I'm not rushing myself unnecessarily.

So that's part of what I've been doing during my lengthy hiatus. Setting things in motion. On the creative front, I haven't been completely useless either. I stopped drawing for the most part, but I did write a whole ton. The story that I've always been talking about, The Prophecy of the Circle, almost has book one completed. The novels still won't see publication until all three are written (I need to completely discover where this story is going before I set any of it in stone), but I don't plan to leave everyone waiting for me. I have a project, tentatively called Book Zero, that I'm hoping I'll be able to properly reveal in the next short little while. Anyone whose been curious about the story living in my head will get an introduction to the universe very soon if I have anything to say about it.

I only hope that it lives up to expectations.

My life is actually more insane right now than it ever has been before, and only some of it's predictable. Some of it surprised me, and I've been pretty much stressed right out. I pick strange times to pick up old habits. Point is, if it still takes me a week to fully get back into this thing, that's why. I'll start now, though.

I think it's about time I just faced up to the fact that I've been the exact opposite of active lately. I let deviations pile up, I don't submit anything (nor do I create much that I could submit), and sometimes I just forget to visit this place for weeks.

I do that with most of the internet lately, really. Not just here.

This year's just been spent playing catch up with everything. At least I'm making progress. When I know where my head is, I'll be back.

I put some things into storage that I wasn't happy with anymore, particularly when I felt that it was a less than stellar example of my skills, even at the time of creation, and yet it was getting faved into the top of my gallery. Some of those are probably going to be eventually (someday; I keep saying that) replaced with versions that aren't so shoddy. In case you're wondering where a certain piece disappeared to, that's where she be.

Or else she's just going to decide something on a whim and that's only fun if you don't plan to deal with the feedback afterwards.

I've been wanting to re-do a few pieces for months now, mostly because A. they're popular in my gallery and B. I don't like them nearly as much anymore. That would be Malfurion's Peace, Crazy Trolls, and Tribunal. I know some of you are fond of them, so I'm curious.

Should I replace the old versions with newer ones, or should I leave the old versions in my gallery and just post the replacements as separate deviations?

My current urge is actually to replace both Crazy Trolls (I could do the same scene fifty times better nowadays; why keep the old when the new would be so vastly improved?) and Tribunal (there are character design inconsistencies on that one that bother me; tikedi have fuzzy white muzzles instead of bare skin now), but Malfurion's Peace gives me pause. It's my most popular piece right now, and I don't know if I should really just do away with it entirely and stick up a new one. I never could see what people liked so much about that one in the first place. For all I know and updated version would lose whatever charm it is that attracts people to that piece in particular.

I know it's not just that it's Warcraft fanart. >> I have plenty of that that gets no attention at all. Unless it's just that it's Malfurion.

Or possibly I worry too much.

Oh wow! *pfors went and donated a three month subscription to me. I've said it before, but I'll say it again: thank you so much! I've always wanted to see what it's like to be subscribed here, but I could never justify the price tag. It's actually pretty snazzy. I'll have to put this gallery and all its new features to use for the time that I have this thing.

That also means I reeeeaaally need to get to work on finishing some art so I can have things to post. I promise that I have been drawing. In fact, I have several pages of my sketchbook that are just filled with doodles and sketches and ideas. None of them are finished or even scanned, but I could have at least been doing that last bit and then posting them to my scraps. Even though I hate posting to scraps. I'd rather finish things so they're entirely worth looking at.

For finished pieces, I'm working on something rather large. It's 18" by 24", very icy blue, purple, and white, and it's stuck to the drafting table in my living room and getting added to a bit every day. The challenge when I finish that one is taking a photo of it that does it any justice, because I'm rather proud of it.

In the meanwhile, I promise that I'll try harder to get little things out to show to you people here. Even if it's just sketches. I think you've all been waiting long enough.

Now I have a hell of a reason to want to.
