FINALLY!!

My camera arrived yesterday, more than two weeks after I ordered it. I am so happy, and completely overwhelmed. This thing is seriously smart. I think it may actually be able to make a souffle, I just have to find the right button for that.

Anyway, once I get the hang of everything, I will sit on my deck and take photos of birds :D

In other news, I finished my 9km fun run, took me 70 minutes, an improvement of 5 minutes over last year. I raised $70 for the Cancer Council, though it is not too late to add to my sponsorship money if you have afew dollars spare. As part of my efforts to find some fitness and lose some of this blubber that seems to have settled in areas I don't think need to be discussed here, I have been following a 'return to running' plan that I found at a running oriented website. The running plan sees me gradually increase the amount of running I can do each week, over 9 weeks, until I will be able to run 5km or 3 miles.

I am up to week 5 of this running plan, and this weekend will see me attempting something special, well, it is special to me anyway! I have entered in the 9km fun run being held in Sydney. I get to run across the Harbour Bridge and round the foreshore of the harbour and finish at the Opera House!

As part of the fun run, you can choose to raise money for a charity you feel particularly close to. I chose to fundraise for the Cancer Council as I have lost relatives and friends to this in various forms and think that every little bit we do has to help.

:iconshadowkorin: has a lovely series of sheep doodles that adorn her class notes which she chose to share with dA. I think they are great and because I like sheep as subjects I am hoping you will go take a peek and a giggle at her gallery, not just for the sheep though. There are plenty of other enticing artworks to check out too.

Also it seems fairy princesses are the order of the day. My daughter wants her own fairy and so do a few other friends for their little girls. So expect more cute to be sparkling about my gallery soon.

My goodness this year has flown. I can't believe I am already planning christmas and new years. I don't have enough time to do the things I NEED to do, let alone the things I WANT to do.

I have the roughed-in outline of my first ever attempt at oil painting done. I sit and look at the charcoal lines on the canvas and try and will myself to find the turps and thin some paint and BEGIN. But... I'm scared LOL At the moment it looks like a painting-to-be. If I paint on it, and muck it up, then it will look like a mucked up painting.

Yeah yeah, I know, its a learning experience, don't be hung up on making it perfect. But, its still hard to actually wet a brush. Maybe this weekend. I will try remember to take pics of it as I go. Maybe I will even get the courage to post them so you can wince along with me as I do it. And I must remember to borrow some books on oil painting. I think that might help, no?

I have a list longer than both my arms of requests for 3D pics. I try not to think about it too much and just do them as time and inspiration permit.

And then there are the Monday night mini-tests I have to take for my IT degree. Every Monday night I have to make my eyes bleed by reading about graphs, trees, logic, sets, Euler and other suchlike subjects. Then I have to actually churn it back out and hope I actually have a clue. I will be glad when this semester is over. Not to wish time away or anything.....

I finally get a wireless network card to put in my son's computer, because he REALLY wants to play supersoaker. I install it and the RAM dies on the computer. Resulting in devastated son. So I take out the dead box and give him my secondary computer (yes I am a geek) and he is all happy to be connected. He is 7 btw. So, now I am all bleh because I will have to set special permissions on that box because I really don't want him exposed to some of the less pleasant aspects of the 'net.

All I really want to do I play with my new poser toys, I got Wildenlander for M3 plus a texture pack and I am itching to play with it but I keep finding more urgent and less fun things to do first. Someone cut me some cheese to go with my whine already!
