Love the layout of the new submission page - but it's as slow as the proverbial wet week and more than once, I had to re-upload the image before it would show in my gallery... grrr!

Hate the defaulted deviantMobile/blog and Download fullview image things... makes it too easy for others to steal an artist's work DA... naughty, naughty!

I'm a member of the Apophysis and UF mailing lists - and currently there is a debate raging on the UF list regarding fractal art in general, and the attitude of some of the people there is (to me) appalling.

The worst "offenders" of passing disparaging comments seem to be the more established UF artists (remember that this is on the UF list) - one person has even degenerated into calling certain types of fractal work "cowpies" or "schlock". I can say this... if anyone says that apophysis is a confusing program to play with - then they haven't tried UF... lol! All of those fractal formulae, coloring formulae, layering, masking, etc... aarrgghh! This is NOT as easy as one would think...

Of late, I've been fascinated with making my Apophysis images on a white background. Personally speaking, I like these better than working on a black background because the challenge of getting things "just right" is somewhat harder to do on a white background. Try it if you don't believe me... lol!

The other day, I posted a slew of images, one of which was on a black background - and that one image attracted so many more comments than the images I'd done on white...

1. Got well caught up playing Neverwinter Nights - bought the Diamond Pack - still playing, but had to take an "Apo break".

2. Became unemployed as of Monday 24th July - not exactly my choice... grrr! Nice severance pay though, so I'm not too worried about anything right now.

This smallish offering today is mostly thanks to Trystian's excellent "plastic script" - but there are a couple of interesting images that I managed to get by doing a little 'from scratch' fiddling... I hope you enjoy viewing them all as much as I enjoyed making them.

Anyways, just finished a 12 hour nightshift last night and I decided to go play tennis before I got me some sleep... bad idea! I tripped over my enormous feet whilst running backwards to get a ball, and fell rather heavily on my left wrist - which I had surgery on last November...

Needless to say, I'm feeling rather sore and sorry for myself right now... got the wrist in my brace and aren't game to take it off in case it swells up like a balloon... 'cos it feels like it will do that... err!

The thing is that I fiddle with Apophysis at odd times, and save my images for post-processing (borders, etc) later - but don't always get enough time to do them in smaller batches. Then when I find myself with the time and inclination, I go through all of my recent stuff and finish them off...

At least there were only 30-odd this time around... lol!

I'm about 5 minutes away from just going without titles altogether... grrr!

When I create my images, I call them "stuffxx-yy", where xx is the batch number, and yy is the sequence of the image in the batch. I do batches of 20 at a time... Images created on my work PC are called "workxx-yy" - it helps to differentiate... lol! Batches are also mixed - meaning some could be Funky Flames, others are created from scripts, and yet others are from scratch - so there are no themes in any given batch either... lol!

It doesn't help when I spawn so many images in a sitting either... lol! I've got 157 of the darned things here all ready to go... but no bloody titles come to mind!

Went through some old Apophysis images and gave them a new lease on life with some mirroring in PSP 9.

Don't freak... I won't be posting them all at once... hahaha!

Any suggestions on how everyone else comes up with cool titles for abstract type works would be most appreciated...

Had my first physio session since my wrist surgery today... need I say more?

Got me a whole pile of exercises to do - 6 times a day! Do they think that I get 30 minutes spare time every couple of hours at work?? This should be interesting when I go back to work tomorrow for nightshift... maybe I'll incorporate the exercises into my ciggie breaks... lol!

Mind you, there's not much real work I can do one-handed in my job - I'll just be a butt on a seat for the next few weeks... haha!

I had a nasty ganglion removed from deep inside my wrist yesterday. All went well with the surgery and I was doing really well until the "long-acting" anaesthetic" wore off at approximately 2:00am... lol!

I'm glad I filled the prescription for the painkillers on the way home from the surgery - dropped 2 and slept like a baby until about 6:30...
