Like drawing in a large class room with people, or even better, drawing with some friends....but I've noticed that i really don't have any drawing pals anymore, they either moved away real far, got girl friends(or boy friends), or just aren't as into drawing as they used to be.
But i may just be asking to much...i mean, i draw almost everyday, and i shouldn't expect that from people....especially if they only draw as a pass-time.

So i find i'm pushing myself pretty hard these days, i spend all my week days just drawing, but with a job, a girl friend, and friends just in general, it's difficult to always say "no, sorry, i need to draw", need being the key factor in art for me. I really want a job drawing comics, and no company is just going to come up to me and say "hey, you wanna job?", and with all those people out there that have tones of raw talent, it's difficult for someone like me, who has to practice almost everyday for several hours just to be considered ok amongst pros.
Any'hou, all this to say that my friends and girl friend are getting annoyed with me due to a whole year of the same excuse. But can i blame them? And i keep telling myself that "hey, when i get a job far off in the future(hopefully not that far off) it'll all calm down", but it really wont, if anything, it'll be even more intense.
i guess i just gotta hang in there eh?

and now a quick explanation of the difference between talent, and skills

Talent - born with it, you've got the eye, and the hand in art, sure you practice, but things come much easyer then the average person. you can look at something, and copy it very well, by the third time you draw it(or less) it comes out fairly well.

Skill - You can't draw in the beginning, but you love it enough to push yourself to become a disciplined, and open artist. a skill is something you learn, so threw school/friends/or tutorials you'll get it. so if you draw something your looking at, it may take you 10 or more tries at the same thing before it starts to look good.


The lucky people have talent, and are willing to push themselves to be skilled aswell, these people normally make it in the art world as being the best of the best. Just talent can get you pretty far, but not to the top. And just skill? if you've got the hart to go with it, you can also get pretty far....you just have to be willing to go the distance.
So for all you people packing only skils, i salute you, cause if we want to make it, it's a long hard road to travel.

Colored - 100$, price may very depending on details again, you get the original inked copy, and a digital copy of the colored version, if you would like a print of it as well, i charge for the print cause i'll have to go to a print shop, have it done, and then pay for all that, but it'll only be like 15$ or so more(depending on how big you want it printed

Also, if you want any prints of pictures already done, just note me which one you want, and i can just charge printing fees and shipping. So for 11/17, pencils or inks are 4$, and colors are 6$

I can also make really big posters that are about 24/36 for 8$ or 36/48 for 10$, however, these posters are just in black and white(ink), and are on normal paper, not glossy or anything like that.(you still need to pay shipping charges, unless in montreal)

The prints i can send in tubes, but if you want your art flat, i can also take care of that for any purchase over 100$(with exception to posters(they get rolled), and if your paying for an original, you bet it's not going to be rolled)

And so thats that!, if anyone wants anything at all, just note me!, i'm also always up for bargaining prices, so don't be shy to ask away, i also only do 4 commissions at a time, so it's first come first serve!
And finally, I'll draw whatever you want, and if you have any reference to a perticular style, or coloring or art in general, you can send it to me, and i'll manipulate your commission to that style. And you do get many sketches before i start the final product, i want you to be 100% satisfied before anything is concrete!

On another note, i'v realized that i honestly can no longer draw pictures for friends birthdays anymore...
see, buying a gift takes 2 seconds, and it could be something meaningful non the less, while holding a dollar attachment of 20$, making it feel like 2 hours of work went into it.
But art? If you don't have an idea, you gotta think of one, then penciling the drawing(as if any one wants a penciled drawing?....not most of peoples!), then inking(inking looks nice, but they always say"hey, so you gonna color this?"or even better,"so WHEN is the colored version going to be finished?"),and finally colors("wow!, but you know, i think it looked nicer in black and white...")
and after those grueling 6 hours of work(maybe more), you gotta pay to print it at a shop, cause handing them a file almost always leads to that disk getting lost somewhere, and as such never being printed...

So that's that!, basically, they get what i give them!, unless it's commissioned of course, then i'll gladly give it 130%

i mean, they did a good job making a comic like that into a movie. There were a few things i didn't really like, but i'm not gonna complain, cause it's been a while since i'v seen such a good movie.
any way, there were a lot of details, so i'll probably have to see it again! yey!

As for my some what lacking of produced art, i'm working on my portfolio, but i'm still having a bit of trouble getting into the groove of things.
Plus Street fighter 4 came out, and you know what artists shouldn't do? buy awesome video games...cause it leads to less drawing...but it's such an awesome game....and cammy is just TOO awesome in it.

i took notes, and they seemed to make it seem like there was no way for me, at least not for a good 5 years of practice or so.

I'll give it 6 months. now that i know what i need to become greater, and am ridiculously devoted to what i do, in 6 months i'll be good enough, and in one year i'll be in.

on a high note, i got a free usb key while there that says stark industries on it!!isn't that cool? and i got me the street fighter tribute book signed by a bunch of the artists, and the megaman artbook!!!,and so much free stuff my arms hurt from carrying them at the end of the days.

unfortunately for me, i don't own a scanner big enough for any of the drawings not yet shown....which sux cause i seriously have at least 10 or so drawings, and i'm working on my spidey comic, so it would'v been nice to show that off now.

any hou, i still have tones of art on the way but it might be a little bit first...what with 40 or 50 hours of work a week, and me only working on my spidey and trying to keep some sort of s social life...

which reminds me, i sa wall-e the other day and it was really great. i also sa batman gotham knights, and it was only ok.....i found that every time you would get into the story, it would end as quickly as it began.

*Any Suggestions?*
So i'm working on a portfolio to try and get into DC or marvel, or anything like that, and i have to draw consecutive pages from a script of any comic of my choice.
I'v chosen to do 3, one of which is going to be the pages out of a vampire hunter D novel, but as for the other two, does any one have any suggestions? I'v been thinking Birds of prey and x-men, but i'm all ears, and leave this open for discussion. Also, the more specific, the better, like "issue blah blah of specific x-men comic is perfect" or something like that

But after that i have a bunch of stuff i'm dying to draw, like evangelion stuff...damn i just saw the movie, and remembered why it's on my top 5 list of animes....it's just soooo great.
And maybe still the gears of war pic.....we'll see.

I'v spent the better part of the two past days drawing Zelda pics for a friends book, and though he is making a hentai,and sell it in japan, i really can't push myself to draw anything vulgar....I mean, he just wants me to draw like 4 pics, and i'm not getting paid or all, but i think he needs all the pages he can get, so i'v been tied up with that at the moment

But i guess thats how the cookie crumbles.
So unfortunately things are going to take a little longer before they start appearing here.

-more characters means more expensive.
-If you want backgrounds, tell me, and we'll start limboing the price. nothing is ever written in stone for me, and i don't mind negotiating all the prices depending on the overall drawing to begin with.
-Time......i can get things done faster then many people out there. so depending on when you want it, i'll work my ass to the bone to get it done.
-Original, if you want the actual paper and ink, it'll cost more....however, if not, i WILL go to a print shop, and scan it in at a damn nice and high res, burn it to cd, and then that will all be yours...so you can make as many copies as you would like afterwards.
-boundaries, i'll draw whatever your heart desires.
-work process, everything goes by you. i'm drawing for you, and not myself. So if you want characters doing something, i'll do a bunch of sketches, and you'll tall me what you like or what you would prefer. once my pencils are done, i run it by one last time, then i ink.
-Color, i love coloring, but depending on the picture this will vary.
-Pencils? well...if you want!(but ink is so much nicer)

Ouuu! x-maz is right around the corner!!! it's gonna be a hardcore one...every one seems to want a freaking drawing these days, and i'v decided that this will be the last time i draw something for someone for any holiday or birthday...it's just too much. i mean, i'd rather just go out and pay like 10-20$ on stuff for people then spend 8-30 hours on something then pay for printing services that are like 20-35$ then because it's x-mas, i "gotta" fram'm right?
so thats like another 20$...and the people you give it too rarely realize how much work you truly put into it, and how low it's brought your funds.....but most of you artist should know how that is huh?
